Pinepaw scrampered in quickly, a small look of annoyance shining in her golden eyes as she pushed towards the front of the gathering cats. She liked to be among the first to show. The silver oriental shorthair sat and looked around at those gathering. She was surprised to see Duskfeather and not Flinstar, she glanced around quickly, hoping all was well with him.

Dustbreeze padded in with a yawn cracking her maw. The tortie took up a quiet spot at the back of the clearing and sat down, calmly awaiting what the deputy had to say.

Cedarstream padded quietly into the clearing. She felt bad about being late to report back from her patrol but she had to go all alone which had set her back. Thankfully nothing bad had occured in the new territory. She glanced around for Duskfeather to report back to.

Sunsnow paused in the middle of dropping a squirrel down into the prey-pile.

Oh. A meeting.

He finished up, looking around for somewhere to sit- preferably close to Buckbranch. The orange tom scanned the crowd, saddened when he saw the other cat at the front of the crowd where all the spots were taken. Sunsnow instead settled down right where he was, near the fresh-kill pile, and waited- though of course, he couldn't keep his eyes off the handsome calico tom ( Slushie )

Darkpaw bounded up to the highpeak, momentarily snapped out of his worry of having been left behind.

Could this be it- my WARRIOR CEREMONY?

Then he realized who was making the announcement- Duskfeather, and the tom's excitement faded.

Oh, nevermind. If it was, Flinstar would surely be here.

Duskfeather was sitting in the clearing, her tail flicking calmly. She looked up from where she had been examining a group of kits, gaze coming to focus on Cedarstream as she walked into camp. Her ears flattened and she raised her head to call out to the she-cat. "Cedarstream! Where have you been? Your patrol was due a long time ago!" she called.

Cedarstream didn't crouch down nor even flick her ears back against the hard words. She at least managed to do the patrol and keep in one peice. She wasn't going to ignore the fault, but she also wasn't going to beat herself up over it.

"I'm sorry about that. I was delayed in waiting for Blossomclaw and Hazelpaw, but they never showed up. I did the patrol alone, thankfully there was no trouble." She said, her sparkling green gaze holding the deputy's steadily.

However, I would like you to do some extra hunting to make up for the late report. Get some rest and head out once you are ready." It didn't bother her much, however. She had watched Lionwhisker leave, satisfaction filling her. The deputy flicked her tail, her head raising to allow her voice to ring throughout the clearing.

"Ceremonies have been delayed long enough- it is time for them to be conducted, and as all of you may have noticed, I will be the one to do them." She allowed such information to sink in before continuing. "To begin, there is one kit who is ready to become an apprentice. Birdkit [ Slatepaw ], please step forward."

Ok. Who's staring at me? He could practically feel Sunsnow's gaze burning into the back of his neck, and when he turned to look, he felt his chest tighten and he closed his eyes. All he could think about when he saw the orange tom was the pain and hurt in his eyes when Buckbranch told him no. He dug his claws into the dirt and sighed, shaking his head, The patrol had been awkward, yes, but did that mean everything they did had to be just as uncomfortable? Even meetings? No, no it certainly did not.
Sighing once more through his nose, he rose from his spot and padded over to Sunsnow. The scent of prey filled his nostrils, making his mouth water. He sat down next to the orange tom, meowing a nonchalant, "Hey."

She was six moons old now and has been waiting to become an apprentice and get there was only one kit. Her heart broke and she pressed closer to Linnetwing.

Duskfeather noticed Petalkit [ Blissie Bliss ] in the crowd next to Linnetwing, her ears perking with surprise. Ah, she had forgotten a kit! Curse her discomfort around young cats... Her pelt heated with embarrassment and she gave an apologetic smile to the young she-cat.

"Petalkit, you may step forward as well. It seems as though there are really two kits ready to become apprentices."

She saw that Duskfeather was embarrassed. Everyone made mistakes and she would let it slide since she was Linnetwing's sister.

Once the two kits had stepped forward, the deputy fipped her head and went on, glad that they had reacted so quickly.

"Petalkit, you are now of age to begin training. From this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Petalpaw. Owlwatcher [ Shimm ], I entrust you with the ability to pass on your wisdom to this young she-cat."

"Birdkit, you are now of age to begin training. From this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Birdpaw. Dawnheart [ meowsticool ], may you pass on your knowledge to this young apprentice."

She gave a few moments for the new apprentices to meet their mentors, smiling down at them. Duskfeather's brow quirked as she did so, gaze passing over the clearing. Flintstar hadn't arrived yet- where was he? The she-cat shook her head and decided to continue, hoping he arrived soon. His presence was important, after all.

"There are a number of apprentices who have been without mentors for far too long. It is time for this to change- ThunderClan is in need of warriors, and delayed training cannot be tolerated. Bravepaw [ Watermelon ], Springpaw [ Bluepetal ], Geckopaw [ Starfall ], Thistlepaw [ Silhouettes ], Ivypaw, Echopaw, Magnoliapaw, Rosepaw [ Lonestar23 ], Plumpaw [ implimm ], Darkpaw [ Vessel ], Hazelpaw [ Yelloweyes ], Nightpaw [ Ravenshade ], Silverpaw [ Silver Speaker ], Blackpaw [ Solstice_X ], Frostpaw [ Ravenshade ], and Brightpaw [ Brightspot ], please step forward! So, Duskfeather relaxed slightly, gaze glued to the crowd as she awaited the appearances of each named apprentice- as well as the leader.

When Buckbranch met his gaze, the orange tom turned away, pelt prickling with embarrassment.

Was I really staring that hard?

Then, before getting any chance to think about that more, he sat down next to Sunsnow! He suddenly straightened, pelt warming even more than before, until Buttercup spoke;

'Hey.'

To the other tom it was just a word of greeting, but to Sunsnow, it was everything. It was warm prey in his stomach, it was butterflies in his chest, it was birdsong, it was lightning. Buckbranch was talking to him again!

Maybe he does like me, but only as a friend.

Even though it was better than nothing, the thought was heartbreaking. Heartshattering. However, Sunsnow was glad. Even if there could be nothing between them, he would take anything that meant he could be near tortoiseshell tom. Pushing off the crushing despair, and instead focusing on that little spark of happiness, he smiled.

"Hi."

Darkpaw brightened. It really was a special day for him! He bounded forward, eager to be the first apprentice to step up.

Plumpaw watches disdainfully as somebody who shared her den shoves their way to the front of the crowd. Pinepaw, she believed they were called. The molly rolls her eyes and shifts her attention to the actual meeting. She could care less for princesses like that around her. It was quite puzzling that Flintstar himself wasn't performing this meeting, but perhaps he was falling ill? She couldn't imagine anything else taking precedence over this. First, two kits are called. Duskfeather names them both as 'paws and gives them mentors. Plumpaw sniffs- Now the apprentice's den would be even more crowded than it already was! And she was going nowhere soon, by the looks of it.

But no sooner than the thought twirled around in her head, the silvery mau hears her own name being mentioned by the deputy. Her charcoal ears perk up and she sits still for a few heartbeats before actually moving. As she stands, her legs quiver and she hears a loud but nonexistent SNAP in her ears. She flinches before setting her paw down, but forces herself to move nonetheless. She needed to take her place beneath the Highpeak, and no trauma would get in her way of that. Especially if it meant being a step closer to becoming a warrior, finally. As she approaches the area beneath Duskfeather, she casts a glance over her Clanmates, then scans the rest of the clearing before turning back around and sitting down by the others. Would this be valid even though it isn't the leader?

Keeping his paw pressed up against his siblings face the Apprentice swiveled his head and looked up, a little thrown back at an unfamiliar face standing atop the Highpeak. However after a moment it clicked. "Oh! Duskfeather's calling a meeting! Where's Flintstar?" Geckopaw asked, tilting his head to the side.

To which Mosspaw responded "Sleeping? He did have to deal with you and a bunch of other apprentices the other day." he retorted. Taking the opportunity to push his brother away and scramble towards a spot where he could better see the Deputy.

The Tortoiseshell watched from a corner of the camp, curled comfortably in a ball. What was even the point of these? Are they giving one another new names? What was the point? Apprentices? Why does she have to stand on the big rock? The tom let out a low gurgle of annoyance and he buried his head in between his paws, doing his best to block out the noise. It was so quiet two seconds ago, were these meetings normal? If it was it was going to be incredibly annoying, maybe he'd be able to sneak out before that happened? She didn't know him at all, but the tom was staring at the group of apprentices with a gross smile on his maw, his eyes picking some of them apart. "Ashcloud, shouldn't your attention be on the meeting and not on the young cats? I'm sure your staring will make a few of them quite uncomfortable," the Torbie mewed, her tail flicking. A hesitance sparked within her and she took note to only give him an apprentice to train if he was the only choice left.
Her focus turned away from the warrior as jabbering reached her ears, perking to listen to the voices. Duskfeather heard Bluegorse telling them off, a smile coming to her lips. However, it fell into a frown once more as she noticed who he was speaking to.
A sigh left her and she found herself stifling the urge to roll her eyes. "Thank you, Bluegorse. Hey Bucky-boy, Sunshine, why don't you shut your mouths so those around you can hear without whispering beside them? I could have sworn ThunderClan had more manners than this, but I suppose not. You have plenty of time to speak with each other- a Clan meeting is not one of those times. How disrespectful to those receiving ceremonies, as well as me! Bluegorse is not the nosiest, he is doing what is right in trying to get you two shut up so the announcements may continue," Duskfeather scolded, her narrowed eyes set on Buckbranch and Sunsnow.

"Buckbranch, you were a deputy.. albeit an awful one. You should know better than to yap with your dear driend in the middle of a meeting."

Bluegorse wanted to say more, but Duskfeather's yowl beat him and he couldn't help but fall into a quiet smirk. He was glad he wasn't the only one who could see how blatantly disrespectful and rude Buckbranch and his tom-friend were..

There was a time and a place for everything, and their friendship drama didn't belong in a meeting.

Great freaking StarClan, was EVERYONE going to try to stick their muzzles where they didn't belong? Buckbranch clenched his jaw to prevent a string of furious words from escaping his mouth. "I'm sorry, Duskfeather, but I have been paying attention just the same as everyone else," he said flatly. "I have been as quiet I can be. I have been respectful. I'm happy that these young cats are finally becoming apprentices, and I'm glad that others a getting a chance to carry on with their training, because they deserve it. However, this is the first opportunity to talk with Sunsnow I have had in quite a while. And I wouldn't even call it talking. In fact, I would call it whispering. So I apologize if I have interrupted 'your' meeting. But a certain cat seems to be making a bigger deal out of this than necessary."He shot a meaningful glance at Bluegorse. "And I am not the only one making conversation while this meeting takes place, so I do not understand why I seem to be a target."
Stars, please, I beg of you, PLEASE prevent me from murdering Bluegorse. "I am not yapping, Bluegorse. Please leave myself and my friend alone so the apprentices can receive a mentor and continue their training."

Sunsnow hadn't said anything, for fear of being unable to hold back, and instead had been swelling like a poisonous toad. He wanted to lash out, oh, he really did, but he knew it would be a mistake.

Instead, he listened as the dispute unfolded, glaring at the accusatory cats. Surprisingly, he was able to remain silent until the current deputy stepped in. Then he couldn't resist. "Buckbranch is correct," Sunsnow hissed, "We were merely greeting one another when Bluegorse felt the need to escalate everything." His orange tail lashed, a clear sign of his barely-controlled anger.

"I suggest you just continue the ceremony, Lionstar, and stop accusing cats so these ones can get their ceremonies!" He paused, snorted, then sat back down.

Stupid idiots. Fox-hearts. Starclan-forsaken heather-for-brains, I swear, no one insults Buckbranch! I should have said something sooner.

He laid his tail on Buttercup's flank and turned away, looking instead at the apprentices who had gathered.

Bluegorse had to snort at the childish display of the two kittens playing warrior. "No wonder you got demoted, Buckkit. You and your tom-toy can't even handle being told to shut up during a Clan meeting. Leave the meeting if you want to keep running your mouths, otherwise shut up for once and listen to Duskfeather.

"If you want to get defensive like kittens being scolded, you can join Condorkit in the nursery for StarClan's sake."

Did these two beebrains even realize how stupid they looked? All they needed to do to begin with was stop talking for the duration of the meeting or leave...

Instead they fought it like moody apprentices.

Duskfeather narrowed her eyes. "Excuse me?" she said, her tone dripping with irritation. "Am I seeing things wrong, or is there a warrior, a former deputy, arguing like a kit? And another warrior doing the same? Whether it is talking or whispering, you are still being disrespectful, especially in the way that you are continuing to argue despite it being much easier for you both to simply do as you have been told and remain quiet. You may speak with Sunsnow after the meeting." She paused for a moment before lowering her voice threateningly. "Or do you want to be placed on apprentice duties for a moon? Both of you, step to opposite sides of the crowd. You are not to even look at each other until the meeting is over, or you will both be demoted to apprentices, since you both wish to argue like ones." With that, she turned away to search for more apprentices to approach the Highpeak, taking note of those who had already arrived. Good- she liked punctuality.

The apprentice continues to sit in wait for whatever Duskfeather had in store for her- hopefully a new mentor so she could finish her training. However, the meeting was dragging on forever. The deputy herself even stopped the damn thing to bicker with some of their warriors! The she-cat had already become irritable with the disturbing stare of Ashcloud, now she had to sit through Duskfeather and Bluegorse asserting dominance over two Clanmates having a quiet conversation- Which honestly the older apprentice could care less about seeing as how boring this meeting was! "Come on, you guys," she mutters under her breath. "Wouldn't waiting until the meeting was over be the more 'grown-up' thing to do... Bickering like kits..." She didn't want to be stuck sitting at the foot of the Highpeak for half the day just because Duskfeather wanted to solve world peace before moving on with it.

"No, no, Sunsnow, it's fine. I'll meet up with you after the meeting." He blinked anxiously at the orange tom. Duskfeather and Bluegorse were already irritated enough, even if they didn't have a reason to be, and he didn't want Sunsnow getting in trouble as well. He brushed his friend's ear with his nose and stood up, shaking out his fur as he prepared to move to the other side of the clearing.
He was trying his best not to show it, but his pelt was spiking along his spine and a low urge to just... let loose on Duskfeather and Bluegorse. They kept bringing up his slip-up, and it was starting to make him feel worse about it. He'd already gotten over it once; he really didn't need to force himself to stop thinking about it again. Duskfeather, I'm sorry, but you really aren't growing on me right now. In fact, my opinion on you seems to be shrinking. "I apologize. I didn't realize it was childish to defend one's actions," he meowed. "But I guess I have no choice to move. After all, Duskfeather, you are the deputy, and as a mere failure of a deputy and therefore a simple warrior, I have to listen to you." He stared at her for a moment longer, then pushed roughly past Bluegorse and made for the other side of the crowd. He held his head high, ears forward, gait confident. I overcame my problems. With a sigh, the Torbie decided to continue the meeting, ignoring Buckbranch's childish comebacks. Her tail flicked and she looked down over each of the cats who had gathered. Plumpaw, Blackpaw, Darkpaw, Geckopaw. She took note of Brightpaw's quizzical expression- apparently she hadn't been paying attention during that ceremony, as Hollowedaster had already been assigned to her, although she didn't remember when. However, she would still need the apprentice to come forth in order to change her name, given that it was too confusing to have two Brightpaws within the Clan.
Duskfeather smiled down at each of the apprentices. "Each of you have gone without training for long enough. It is time for mentors to be reassigned, and you to continue your training."

"Plumpaw [ implimm ], your new mentor will be Ravenspirit [ Shimm ]. I entrust him to spread his knowledge and lead you in the pawsteps to becoming a warrior."

"Darkpaw [ Vessel ], your new mentor will be Mintfrost [ Kitty Mama ]. He will teach you well."

"Geckopaw [ Starfall ], your new mentor will be Morningsun [ Solstice_X ]. She will lead you in the rest of your journey to becoming a warrior."

"Blackpaw [ Solstice_X ]..." Duskfeather looked over the clearing, her tail twitching in thought as she searched for a warrior to mentor the apprentice. A sigh of relief fell to her lips- there were other warriors who could be mentors. "Your new mentor will be Silversky [ Skye ]. Her knowledge will be passed on to you well, and lead you on the right path to becoming a warrior."

The Torbie nodded to each of the cats, giving them a moment to find their new mentors. Her ears perked and she looked out over the clearing before calling out to those who had not appeared.

"Bravepaw [ Watermelon ], Springpaw [ Bluepetal ], Thistlepaw [ Silhouettes ], Ivypaw, Echopaw, Magnoliapaw, Rosepaw [ Lonestar23 ], Hazelpaw [ Yelloweyes ], Nightpaw, Frostpaw [ Ravenshade ], Silverpaw [ Silver Speaker ]! If you want new mentors, then I suggest you show up now, or you will not be continuing your training."

With that, she decided to move on as she waited for the slowpokes to arrive.

"Although you have a mentor already, Brightpaw [ Brightspot ], your name is to be changed. It is confuing to have two apprentices of the same name within the Clan, and I do not wish for the confusion to arise during Clan meetings and patrol assignments. Therefore, from this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lightpaw. It is not much of a change, but it will allow the Clan to see the difference between you two." She looked from Lightpaw to Brightpaw and back again to emphasize her point.

Briefly, she wondered where Flintstar was. The surprise could not be conducted if the leader did not appear, and she was already halfway done with ceremonies! Duskfeather shook her head with a sigh.

Now it was time for the newcomers of the Clan- the rogues who had requested to join after the expansion into the Outskirts.

"Two rogues have looked to join our Clan, and it has been decided that they are trustworthy enough to become warriors within our ranks. However, each of them will require a new, Clan-made name, as well as going through the same training an apprentice does."

She looked down at Pheonix, then searched for the other rogue. Hopefully she would appear, or she would not be allowed to join the Clan.

"Phoenix [ Starfall ], Sorrel [ Kitty Mama ], please step forward."

However, as soon as she called the names, Duskfeather caught sight of an unfamiliar face in the crowd. She narrowed her eyes, ears flattening. "Who are you and why have you waltzed into the ThunderClan camp like you belong here? [ ponyapan ]"

The large tomcat padded into the clearing, his ears perking up as he noticed that the meeting was already being conducted. He'd gone out for an early morning hunt in hopes to clear his mind and get some food for the clan, but it had gone on a little longer than he intended. He was able to drop a thin squirrel and a couple mice in the fresh-kill pile to show for it though.

Once he'd deposited the kill, the leader padded towards the highpeak, noticing there seemed to be some tension in the air. But thank Starclan Duskfeather was remaining calm, as far as he could tell. Flintstar sat at the back of the gathered cats and curled his tail around his paws, enjoying listening in on a meeting instead of conducting it. Plus, Duskfeather was doing great, he was glad he'd given her this chance to conduct meetings. He'd never had any practice doing it before he came leader, and his first time conducting a meeting was... less than ideal.
Though, at her sudden hostility, Flintstar's green eyes narrowed and he glanced towards the cat she'd challenged. It was true, he'd never seen this cat before, anywhere. He stood and padded over to the cat, giving Duskfeather a glance to let her know he'd deal with them. She needed to focus on giving out the new name and mentor assignments.
"What's your name?" He questioned quietly, tail flicking behind him.

Foxbound had been sitting near the far side of the highpeak for most of the meeting, her ears flattening in exasperation as Buckbranch decided to make a scene. Again. She just didn't understand why he always seemed to say the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time. With a small sigh as he padded off to the other side of the gathered cats, she turned her eyes back towards Duskfeather, awaiting to see what else the deputy had in store for this meeting.

Jaggedhawk was sitting near the middle of the group of cats, his ears flicking every once in a while. He cast a glance over his shoulder as Duskfeather called someone out near the back of the group, his eyes widening in surprise at the unfamiliar cat within the ranks. Quillpaw arrived to the meeting late. It wasn't like him to be so sluggish and slow. He was quite sure he'd adapted to clan life rather quickly however his body is sending a different signal. The tall tabby stiffly stalked up to the crowd with a pout he was unsatisfied of how far he stood from the thick layer of cats crowding his master. That is his master, he should have the front row seats to all of Thunderclan's glory and intriguing news. "Hobble bosh," he muttered plopping down between his clanmates in a tight squeeze as if space doesn't matter to him. He listened quietly, yellow eyes shone proudly at his mentor who taken the upper paw of today's ceremony. Gosh, so many cats upgrading to new heights ! Tail twitched, he couldn't wait for his glorious moment from being a grasshopper to a mighty tiger of a warrior! Soft chuckles floated out at the Duskfeather's insults, snapbacks and awed in her authority. What a cat. But this Buckbranch is becoming an insect now. This is not about you deertwig, go away you! She felt bad for being so sour over it, after all- Duskfeather had been the one to comfort her and bring her home when... That happened. But this couldn't get a move on any slower than it already was. She hears her name first among the next bunch of apprentices addressed, and that lessens her bad mood a little bit. Ravenspirit? Ravenspirit... Icy blue eyes turns back out over the gathered bunch of cats as she tries to pick him out of the crowd. The name was familiar. The older warrior narrowed his bright amber eyes at Darkpaw's actions but when the apprentice turned and saw his smile it changed his whole attitude. What's wrong with Mintfrost?. Thinking to himself as his paws lead to his son and adopted daughter. "Just because they are your mentor it doesn't mean you can't go ask other warriors for help." Whispering in his ear and gave a little nod before going off to his daughter.

Mintfrost regretted coming to this meeting and gulped down his annoyance. First it was that Herringpaw who up and left, now it was Darkpaw, another apprentice that he would be disappointing. He wasn't good with the younger generation and didn't know why this clan's leadership thought he was fit for the job when he could hardly talk to them. They had nothing in common. "It has come to my attention that there is yet another kit ready to begin her training as an apprentice. Aspenkit [ Starfall ], from this moment forth until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Aspenpaw. Bluegorse [ BILL. ], I know you will train her well."

It was time for the final ceremonies. Her patience ran thin, however, and Duskfeather would not wait for them to step forward before she gave them their new names.

"There are four apprentices who have trained hard and proved that they are worthy of their warrior names. After passing their assessment, it is time for each of them to earn their ranks as warriors. Each of them have already proved their loyalty to our Clan and to StarClan, and thus they do not need it questioned."

It wasn't the right way to do the ceremony, but did she care? No.

"Leopardpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Leopardspirit. StarClan honors your strength and loyalty."

"Moonpaw [ RedHead ], from this moment on you will be known as Moonbird. StarClan honors your decisiveness and studious attitude."

"Pinepaw[ Ever ], from this moment on you will be known as Pinepath. StarClan honors the path you have taken to become a loyal ThunderClan warrior, leaving the life of a kittypet behind."

"Stormpaw [ :Grimm: ], from this moment on you will be known as Stormwind. StarClan honors your determination and strength."

"You will all keep vigil tonight, showing your loyalty to StarClan."

Duskfeather gave the crowd a few moments to chant for the newest additions to the warrior rank, her tail flicking back and forth with impatience. Once it died down, she cleared her throat and straightened her posture, gaze coming to focus on Flintstar [ RedHead ].

"There is one more thing that must be done. Our Clan has gone through enough suffering. We are weak, we are starving. After the fire, our succession has been slow. Too slow. I am sick of seeing us falling apart, and I will take action myself."

She narrowed her eyes, ears flattening. Hopefully the RiverClanners were nearby, listening closely. It was time.

"Flintstar, I demand that you resign as the leader of ThunderClan and allow me to take your place!"

At his new name his fur fluffed up. "Wh- Blazingpaw? That isn't my name it's..." he snapped, however he cut his retort short. If he wanted to blend in he'd have to accept it. "Fine. Blazingpaw it is." he gurgled beneath his breath. Why was it she assigned a teacher to him? Clanlife surely wasn't so terribly hard that he had to have someone following him around.

Still, the Tortoiseshell looked around for this so called Cedarstream. He, of course, didn't know what she looked like.

Bluegorse beamed at his newly named apprentice and bounced over to bop his nose against hers.

"We can get started once the meeting's over!" He told her enthusiastically, eager to jump into things.

At Duskfeather's demand he wasn't surprised, bright gaze on the black and white leader. "We all know Duskfeather has done more for the Clan during her short time as deputy than.. well, you did during your entire reign as one and most of your leadership. I am fully on board with Duskfeather..

"Duskstar! Duskstar! We need someone who's been with us since the beginning, and.. that's not you, dude. You've done some okay things this last moon or two, but that was after Duskfeather. Everything before that.."

He let the words fall, a quiet reminder that patrols, life in the Clan-- anything exciting was nonexistent during Buckbranch's deputyship. Starving, tired, hopeless. The only thing that brightened the darkness was going in reverse, having the twilight skies break out over the horizon.

Cedarstream's ears perked at the naming of her being a mentor. Though as her eyes turned to the little rogue they narrowed in annoyance as he spoke out against his name. The brown tabby padded up to the small cat, trying to keep her long striped fur from fluffing up in hostility at the cat. He was just young and new, and he definitely had a lot to learn about clan life.

"I'm Cedarstream." She said carefully as she approached him, voice smooth and her thoughts collected. She kept her expression carefully cool and calm. Though as she heard the final words of Duskfeather hostility flared in her eyes and she whipped around to look up at the Highpeak.

"How dare you demand the leader to resign! What gives you the right to blame him for the fact that it's leaf bare and there's a fire! We've expanded our territory under Flinstar. Also I believe it was your idea to waste the clan's time and energy with those games that failed so miserably!" She yowled in frustration at Duskfeather. This was a highest level of betrayal! A deputy trying to push out the leader! What would StarClan think of this? The would clan would be more doomed than ever under her traitorous lead!

***

Pinepaw was so excited for her warrior naming but as she heard the pathetic excuse for a ceremony that came out of the deputy's mouth. She didn't even call upon the warrior ancestors to look down on her as she was named! Her silver striped fur bristled with anger at this cat ruining a moment she had looked forward to ever since stepping foot in this clan. Her voice raised up behind Cedarstream's angry words as well, golden eyes blazing.

"You didn't even call upon the warrior ancestor's! I don't want a leader who has such disrespect for StarClan!" Pinepath yowled furiously. Her golden eyes didn't even have time to search for her beloved mentor as she spat at Duskfeather. She didn't want to serve a clan that was lead by a traitor. She only hoped the rest of the clan would share her thoughts.

***

Dustbreeze shrank back as the crowd turned from peaceful to a sea of turbulence. She wasn't one to speak out in crowds. She had seen nothing wrong in Flintstar's leadership and she shrank against the ground with worry at the yowling of the other cats, her sage eyes clouded with worry.

The seal-point eyed her mentor with a faint curiosity. Unless her eyes were deceiving her, she would've sworn the warrior looked more excited than she was at her becoming an apprentice. Blinking as the mood of the ceremony suddenly shifts from happy to puzzled and upset, Plumpaw takes a few moments to realize what was happening. She looks up at Duskfeather and then at Bluegorse and Lionwhisker, the tom she'd tried to play that stupid game with. "My, my," she mutters under her breath. How selfish was the deputy going to be? First, chastising a warrior doing no wrong in the middle of a ceremony instead of doing the reasonable thing and pulling him aside afterwards to be a jerk, and now denouncing Flintstar! There was a time and place for everything, the she-cat believed, and this wasn't the time for such atrocious controversies.

Flintstar hadn't even the opportunity to defend himself or make an argument, either. She searched for the tom idly in the sudden bewilderment of the gathered cats, then returned her gaze to the deputy. She felt insulted herself, but wondered how these new warriors felt having their ceremonies vastly overshadowed by a not-so-happy turn of events. Those poor cats, they deserved to have a moment of their own. "Duskfeather!" she calls loudly, raising her voice. She wasn't going to hold her opinion to herself on this.

"First you stopped in your tracks to scold a warrior you could have spoken to afterwards! Now, all of the apprentices and warriors you've named today have their happy, exciting moment ripped away as you take the attention you just gave them for yourself! Explain to me why you couldn't have waited another day, or even until sundown after our Clanmates have had their moment of recognition, before stealing it?" She wasn't sure if she'd be blamed for demanding a simple answer, but if these mouse-brained cats thought that her asking a question was any sort of rebuttal or refusal or disobedience, then Hell rain upon them. She was sure if she'd received her name just to have the deputy stage a coup right afterwards, she'd be hurt and resentful.

The Torbie specifically eyed Buckbranch.

"After the fire, RiverClan tried to help us to rebuild our camp. We were weak and our leader had just died. But what did Flintstar do? He turned away that help that we could have so desperately used. All he allowed RiverClan to do is collect a few materials before sending them away.

"He named a traitor, who threatened to tell another Clan of our plans, as our deputy. That deputy did nothing in his rank besides sit around. "During the games, a kit died of starvation. Why? Because although I have been trying to keep patrols up, Flintstar has not been helping me to enforce them. Everyone is weak and starving!

"Remember when two warriors pretty much fought to the death in our clearing? I had warned Flintstar of the violence before, but he had to see it for himself to truly know that they needed exiled. Bluegors was harmed greatly and one of those warriors was still murdered at the exile ceremony.

"And you know about that little ShadowClan alliance? When did Flintstar ever consult any of us about it? He pretty much handed over our Clan to Icestar like some toy. The alliance has proved to be nothing but detrimental to us.

"Say what you will about me, but I refuse to stand by and watch my Clan suffer. Do any of you really want us to become the lowest, weakest Clan? WindClan has begun to grow stronger, and it is time for us to do so as well! It is time for ThunderClan to rise, and this is my final choice to do so. There are no other options. I have worked my tail off trying to help Flintstar strengthen the Clan, but nothing has truly helped us. I want what is best for ThunderClan, and I cannot take action to do so if I am shaded over by his leadership.

"If you do not want ThunderClan to thrive, if you want more young to die and the other Clans to overpower us, then I say that YOU are the traitors! Stand with me and we will make ThunderClan powerful once more!"

Once she had finished speaking, Duskfeather caught her breath, chest heaving. Hopefully that would get through their thick skulls. She took another breath, then continued, her gaze dead set on Flintstar.

"I give you a choice. Step down and become the deputy, or become a warrior, and allow yourself to receive redemption willingly. If you do not oblige other matters will be taken for the greater good of the Clan."

He snorted. "Correction, short insolent fellow. I have been here more than just a mere 'moon'. You've made what's suppose to be a jolly good greeting with the Flintstar a poor one with your distasteful show. Your wallop with our leader continued after that and now you want to strike a cord with my master. I will not allow that. I don't give a flying damn if our interaction will be sour or sweet at this point on."

With that said, the tall brown tabby sat down with eyes looking right and left. If any cat dares to touch Duskfeather, he will have a tussle with them!

"Hey Ashcloud, man, was I talking to you? You're siding with the idiot who'd rather see us starve than see ThunderClan have a chance of recovery."

To Buckbranch, he was relentless. "Oh, how'd you pay for it??? I'd LOVE to know when you sat on your ass all day, neglecting your duties and watching the Clan you claim to love die!

"Doing patrols on time is completing patrols, you thick-headed bird. Don't tweet about responsiblity when you take a day to mark a single border, or days to do one hunting patrol. Your job, Buckbranch, is to get it done efficiently. Not spend enough time out there for five other patrols to come through and finish it in half the time.

"The fact that you stand here, fighting for a cat who has watched us wither away and die for several moons, and has only recently attempted to help change things.. speaks layers of your character.

"You're even more selfish and careless about the Clan than I thought. ThunderClan needs a leader that can actively care for us, that can bring us back to our feet.. and like we've said before that sure as hell isn't Flintstar. We will all end up like Snailkit at the rate we're going.

"Next thing you know, we'll have Icestar stalking into our camp demanding Flintstar bend over to her will like he's always had, and throw us into a war we can't afford to be in."

Bluegorse flashed his teeth at Buckbranch. "Yeah, don't try to act tough, Buckbranch. Your death would be a relief for the Clan after how useless you've been."

Plumpaw stands still for some time, anticipating the decency of an answer from the cat who comforted her after Firebug died. Yet there was none. She asked for answers, simple replies, and was given nothing. So, this is how much she meant to her Clanmate, the one who wanted to lead them? She stares for a while at Duskfeather, then turns and leaves without bothering any further. She didn't care at all, not one bit. And all she wanted now was to find a quiet spot to sulk. I liked her! she thinks sourly. I liked her, and she didn't even look at me when I spoke up! Shows what kind of a leader she'll be- All she cares for is the title, the authority! She never cared about me! She never cared about any individual who didn't give her anything!

Was this really what it had come to? Was he that terrible of a leader that Duskfeather saw the need for him to step down? He remained quiet as his clanmates started to vote, for and against him. This is going to star a civil war. Thunderclan does not need that right now. His mind was whirling with so many different thoughts. As Duskfeather started to name off all the terrible things he'd done, Flintstar had to agree with some of what she'd said. He'd made bad decisions, that was for sure. But she was wrong about the fire. He'd risked his entire life to protect the clan during that terrible fire, when Passionstar was too idle to do anything. He'd begun leadership under the stress of not having a camp and losing their former leader. He continued through leadership not having any ideas of how to lead, because Passionstar had led Thunderclan through a mostly peaceful time, while Flintstar had been deputy. But I held the clan together. The clan may not realize, but everything he had done, even though a lot of the decisions turned out for the worst, everything he had done was to protect his clan and keep them going. He had tried to build them back up, but he realized all he could do was to just keep them going. No. Matter. What. And that was what he had done as leader. He may not have built them back up to the ideal Duskfeather was seeing, but he protected them. Risked his life for them. They were his clanmates, and it had been his duty as leader to look out for them. But I also had to deal with other clan leaders, as well as alliances and such... Mostly on my own for a time. Flintstar took a deep breath. If his clan didn't understand, that was okay. They couldn't understand what had been going through his mind all those moons, no one could've understood. And he wouldn't blame them for not understanding. He wouldn't turn against any of them, especially not now. This entire situation was sudden, and he found it pretty out of character for Duskfeather as well. But stress does terrible things to cats, he could say so from experience. Flintstar wanted to avoid any further conflict, and the way to do that was to agree to Duskfeather's terms. And frankly, Flintstar would take the deputy position. He'd always enjoyed being a deputy more anyways, or maybe that position just allowed him to be more of himself. Being the face of Thunderclan had been hard, and as deputy, he hadn't had that much pressure forced on him. I'm still senior to Duskfeather though, and I do have more experience in a lot of things than her. The leader took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment. His decision was made.

"Thunderclan please, calm yourselves." He stood up straight, where he was positioned near the back of the group of cats. He didn't need to leap up on the highpeak to exert any power or dominance like Duskfeather. She'd clearly awaited to announce this until he had given the go for her to go to the top of the highpeak. Flintstar himself didn't need that vantage point. He preferred talking with the cats at face level anyways, to show them he was their equal, just another cat, like they were. "You are all jumping to conclusions and arguments, as if you can speak for me myself. So please, there is no reason to bicker. I know that is the last thing Thunderclan needs right now." Another deep breath, then he continued. "Duskfeather has made some excellent points, and I will say I myself know I have not been the best leader for Thunderclan. I've made rash decisions without thinking about the long-term consequences. My greatest regret was creating that alliance with Shadowclan, and I'll have you know, I had been planning to disband it." He paused to let his gaze sweep over the clan, his eyes bright but full of a calm wisdom and knowledge that he didn't exert very often. "But I am not trying to justify myself to you, my clan. You all are entitled to your own opinions, and how you feel about this situation, and about me as a leader and as a cat. And I will not try to force you to change those opinions." Here, he turned his gaze to Duskfeather, before sweeping it once again across the clan. "I will not oppose the greater need of this clan, because I love each and every one of you, dearly, and I have always promised that I would do anything it took to keep you guys safe, and to make sure every cat in this clan led full, exhilarating, long lives. As you all know, I am not much of a fighter, but more of a lover. A peacemaker. And in this day and time, that is not what Thunderclan needs as their leader, as I have realized."
He dipped his head down before looking up again, straight at Duskfeather. "I will willingly step down from the role of Thunderclan's leader into the role of a deputy, and I will take on all that comes with that role. I am much better suited for this role, and that will allow you, Duskfeather, to be the face of Thunderclan and deal with matters... outside. I of course would give advice and guidance, in any way you see fit, but my role would lie more within the clan, which I am best at handling." He gave the she-cat a small smile, dipping his head in respect. Even though he was a little concerned for Duskfeather. She seemed to have changed in some way. But he would deal with that when the time came.
He then glanced back down to look around at the clan, his eyes bright. "I know some of you may not agree with this decision, but I want you to know that I will still be leading you, in a way. In a better way. And know I would not agree to this if I did not believe that this was what was best for Thunderclan." Flintstar let out a large breath as he finished, holding the gaze of any clanmate who looked at him, and awaiting to see what they would say. Every word he'd spoken had rung with truth and honesty, and he knew that this is where it had come to. And he would adapt, and move on, in the best way he could.

Mintfrost was relieved when Duskfeather sped the last couple ceremonies, but was simultaneously surprised there were so many that had to be done. Where was Flintstar in doing them, why had it been Duskfeather stepping up to the highpeak? Not to mention needing to assign mentors and apprentices, to apprentices that hadn't even gotten one. But he was shocked when Duskfeather asked Flintstar to resign...
Well......
Maybe...not that shocked considering this meeting had been amendments for things Flintstar didn't do. Mintfrost's ears flattened, he debated. Flintstar had made choices he didn't agree with, but it was nothing personal, it was the nature of running a clan. Flintstar had made enemies from friends, made friends with the enemy...it carved sorrow into him. Thunderclan was suffering quite a bit and looking around at his clanmates through his hollowed gaze, he could see reality staring back at him.
Mintfrost knew it was a risk but he couldn't stand to see Thunderclan continue down this dangerous path, and he had faith that the deputy would continue her success as leader. He was glad for Flint stepping in and admired what he said about his mistakes, his transparency about his plans for the future. He could respect this stance and saw Flint's point of view, unsure of what this change would mean but embracing it. "Duskstar, Flintspirit!"

Dustbreeze gave a sigh of relief at Flintstar's response. She had been huddled down as every cat had begun fighting and arguing. Her green gaze softened at his words and her chest felt tight. This would be an interesting change for Thunderclan.

***

Pinepath looked at her past mentor and his words made her chest hurt. She felt as though her heart was breaking to see him be so accepting of the way his clan turned on him without any notice. She felt a burning inside her chest to go with that breaking at the new leader of Thunderclan. It would take her much time to accept the traitorous shecat. The one who had ruined the best moment of her life. Her golden gazed burned with a furious passion. So long as Duskfeather worked hard to prove her good intentions and got her heart back on the path of Starclan and the warrior code then Pinepath would have no reason to be mad at her. Plus she wanted to follow her mentor's forgiveness and acceptance, but her youthful ambition and emotions rang through for now. The wisdom and humility he was demonstrating though would be a lesson for her for her whole life as she fixed her gaze on her and the flaming gold cooled with sympathy.

***

Cedarstream felt like the world was tilting. She couldn't believe Flintstar was just accepting what was happening. She sucked in a breath of shock and tried to keep her pelt from bristling in frustration. How could he give up on the clan so easily? She wanted to be angry and continue arguing for him, but he had spoken. Her green eyes clouded in confusion at his words as her emotions swirled. Everything he had said made sense, and he even said the role of a deputy was better for him. She couldn't deny him his own wishes.

Cedarstream stepped closer to him, trying to get a better look into his face and see if there was any deception there. However, all she saw was brutal honestly. Her ears tipped back and she felt bad as she looked at him and let his words sink in. She glanced over her shoulder at Duskfeather and narrowed her eyes. Cedarstream did not care if Flintstar accepted the demotion or not, she was not going to so readily support and welcome Duskfeather as her leader. It would take some work and some good changes in this clan before she did.

The pretty brown tabby wanted to run out of the clearing and into the woods to clear her mind. This was all so sudden and so much. She had not expected today that the deputy of her clan would set an ultimatum for the leader, and that she would have possibly turned on her clan to force Flinstar and his supporters out if Flintstar had refused the position. A shudder coursed through her body at the thought. She moved to stand by the tom, giving him a small look of concern and hoping to catch him once the meeting finally broke apart but not daring to speak to him while he awaited the next step from Duskfeather..

Duskfeather breathed a sigh of relief. No fighting would need to be done. She looked toward Lionwhisker [ SilentLamb ] and nodded, a signal to call off the RiverClan cats. They would not be needed.

The she-cat crouched down and hopped off of the Highpeak, making her way through the crowd and nodding her head toward Flintstar. "Thank you for seeing what is the best for the Clan. I do hope you hold no ill emotions toward me, I did this only out of belief that it is what ThunderClan needs. I will be honored to have you as my deputy, continuing to work beside me as we build ThunderClan up again."

She then looked around at the Clan, her hazel eyes bright. It was a relief that no violence would be needed- it made her sick to imagine if the Clan broke into a war within itself. And RiverClan was not needed, which was good. Duskfeather simply shook her head to those calling their names, raising her voice once more. Her fur had fallen flat and she no longer held hostility in her gaze- it had gone much smoother than she had expected, and she was glad.

"I am not yet Duskstar, nor is Flintstar yet Flintspirit. We will travel to the Starcave tomorrow. Tonight, we will allow our new warriors to hold vigil beneath StarClan. They have worked hard to earn their warrior names, and we will give them that respect that they deserve. It was wrong of me to not give them the rightful ceremony, and I acknowledge that."

Raising her muzzle to the sky, she chanted:
"Leopardspirit! Moonbird! Pinepath! Stormwind!"

She glared at Duskfeather. Her ambition to be the best warrior the clan had ever seen so that she could make Flintstar proud was only fueled by today's happenings. She hoped Duskfeather would at least hold true to the great efforts she had gone to today to see that Flinstar accepted the dissmissal, weather violent or nonviolent. Though it would take a lot more than one pathetic appology. This leadership had already started with a heap of suspicion, betrayal and ignorance of the warrior code in the young warrior's mind. She turned up her nose at the deputy who would soon be leader and padded off to the camp entrance to begin her vigil. Moonbird couldn't believe what had happened. It had all transpired so fast, and she was beyond angry. She was furious that that she-cat had felt like she could tramp all over Flintstar. Thank goodness their leader was very forgiving and gentle, if Moonbird had been in that position, she would've thrown herself at Duskfeather long before the she-cat finished speaking. There had been little respect coming from the side of the soon-to-be-leader, and Moonbird couldn't believe that that was tolerated. She was also quite upset that her ceremony had been rushed for this. With a huff, the she-cat padded off, heading towards the opposite end of the camp to begin her vigil. The other new warriors had taken up the other areas of the camp, so she assumed she's sit vigil near the middle.

--

Foxbound was very surprised at this turn of events. And slightly unsettled. She couldn't believe how cold Duskfeather seemed to be acting. And she could tell some of her clanmates were also a little unsure about what had happened. But she wouldn't argue. Flintstar had pressed that all he wanted was peace for the clan, and no fighting within themselves. And Foxbound would support that wish. With a small sigh, the ginger she-cat padded towards the warrior's den, her ears flat against her head as she ducked inside.

---

"Hmph." That was all Cherrybubble would say about this situation. She had so much she wanted to blurt out during all of the bickering and arguing, but she held her tongue. She would not fight against the wishes of her leader. And while Duskfeather was pretty, Cherrybubble had now realized she also seemed a little bit selfish and prideful. That would not roll with the black-and-white molly. Flintstar would always be the leader in her eyes, no matter what. And as a senior warrior, Cherrybubble felt she had the right to deny the leader's wishes if she didn't see them fit. She'd done it before, even with Flintstar. She was not afraid to do it again.

---

Jaggedhawk was a little conflicted about this change. He'd never liked Flintstar much, both as a cat and as a leader. But what the tomcat had just said, avoiding a conflict in the best way he could, well... Jaggedhawk was deeply impressed. He realized maybe he'd judged the tomcat too harshly before. But one small thing wasn't going to change his entire opinion. He needed a little more from Flintstar before the former leader had his friendship and support. But so did Duskfeather. Jaggedhawk did believe she would make an efficient leader, but an all around good one? That was hard to come by. Following the lead of many of his clanmates, he made his way over to the warrior's den for some good sleep.

---

"I only did what was best for Thunderclan." The black-furred tomcat meowed in response to his clanmate's reactions, giving Bluegorse a small smile at his physical affection.
"Leopardspirit! Pinepath! Moonbird! Stormwind!" He joined in with the last few calls of the new warriors, wanting them to know they had his support for their new positions. They would all make excellent warriors, some of Thunderclan's best, as he was aiming for. He then gave Duskfeather a respectful nod, saying nothing more in response to her as the meeting was dismissed. There was a lot that had happened within this meeting, more than he was anticipating. But he had avoided a possibly devastating crisis for Thunderclan, and he hoped he could continue to diffuse any tensions that arose in the future. He would not have Thunderclan fightning within themselves over something that had been mostly his decision.
Flintstar noticed many of his clanmates making their way to the territory, probably to think and clear their heads. It sounded like a good idea, and he could only imagine what thoughts were going through their heads. Spotting Cedarstream, the tom padded up to her with a small smile. He'd noticed the incredulous look she'd cast him, and, as she was one of the cat's he'd grown up with and had known the longest, he figured he should see what she thought about this situation. She had been acting like she wanted to talk to him as well. "You wanna go get some air?" He asked softly as he approached her.

Hollwoedaster's muscles bunched rage soared through his body you could almost see steam coming out of his nose! The tom turned to face him unsheathing his claws "WHAT THE HELL!!" he yowled stepping closer that they almost touched noses "YOU IDIOTIC PIECE OF FOX-DUNG!!!" At this point he was so close to slashing Flintstar's throat, but instead he sheathed his claws and raised his paw like he would with a death strike and aimed to slap the crap out of him. After that Hollowedaster ran out of camp to get some air.

That's not cherrybubble...I'd like to have this one reported on time.."

As he heard yelling, Flintstar turned in surprise to the cat whom had yowled. Hollowedaster. He noticed the rage in the tom's face as he raised his paw towards him, and Flintstar stared at him with an unwavering gaze, his eyes narrowing. What're you gonna do? Kill me? The leader was then easily able to dodge the rage-induced attacks, before Hollowedaster sped out into the territory, and the leader looked towards where he'd disappeared, disappointment shining in his gaze. "This is exactly what I was hoping to avoid. Conflict." But he also didn't understand why Hollwoedaster had been so angry with him. Ultimately, it had been Flintstar's decisions to make, whether he would fight or step down. And he'd chose the cleaner and much more peaceful route. He knew some cats would be upset, but that level of rage was uncalled for. Might have to keep an eye on him too... It seems as if some Thunderclanners just can't contain their rage. That's not safe for anyone.

Cedarstream's eyes still curned with uncertainty and fire flared within her chest. She let a sigh of relief when he asked if she wanted to join him for a walk. She had a few questions of her own, but as she looked at his peaceful gaze she felt guilty for her own more furious emotions. Her fur bristled as another cat butted up to Flinstar with hackles raised and mimicked the gesture defensively. Though Hollowedaster seemed to regain his composure quickly after spitting words that echoed her silent thoughts. She stared for a moment after the cat but blinked as she heard Flinstar's words.

"Yes- so much. I need out of the camp for a bit." She whispered, it still seemed surreal. Her long brown and white tail fanned out behind her as she felt a strange mixture of guilt and irritability. The pretty tabby turned to stalk out into the evening, refusing to look at the past deputy.

Tallmarsh stared in shock from the back of the crowd as the events unfolded. She was surprised that Duskfeather had the audacity to say such things about Flintstar, but she was even more surprised that Flintstar agreed with her. Narrowing her eyes, the dark tabby pushed her way to the front of the crowd, shouldering cats roughly out of the way as she went. "This is disgusting, and I can't believe my Clanmates would follow this fox!" she growled over her shoulder.

Turning back to Duskfeather, she put as much venom as she could into her words as she snarled, "The day you become leader is the day you find a new medicine cat." Her fur bristled down her spine as she glared at the torbie. She wasn't afraid to show her hatred for the deputy, especially after this little stunt. She wasn't happy with Flintstar, either. She couldn't believe he was just taking this lying down! "You are a power-hungry snake, and I will never work with you. You will run ThunderClan into the ground."

She planned to uphold her promise. If Duskfeather truly became leader, she would not be joining her to visit StarClan. Honestly, Tallmarsh didn't understand how StarClan would be okay with this. Flintstar still had all of his lives--at least as far as she knew--so why would StarClan revoke them? Because Duskfeather asked nicely? If so, their 'warrior ancestors' were mousebrains. Maybe Tallmarsh was better off as a warrior after all.

Seeing that this apprentice was just in shock, rather than injured, Tallmarsh's expression softened. She gestured to a nest a few tail-lengths away. "Here, sit. I'll get you something," she said. She turned to her herb store and searched for a moment until her eyes fell upon a small, stemy plant. Thyme. She took a few stems from the pile and set one in front of the apprentice. "Chew this. It will help you to calm down," she said. "Close your eyes and take deep breaths. With me." She breathed deeply, in, out, in, out. She motioned for Plumpaw to join her. Once she had calmed down a little bit, the medicine cat would help clean the blood off of her, but for now, she was concerned with stopping the anxiety as much as she could.

That annoying, useless little brat.
She had been waiting to do this for so long.

"I don't want you as my medicine cat anyway," she mewed, her voice gaining a tone of authority. Duskfeather straightened her posture and narrowed her eyes, tail lashing. Her and Flintstar had already been wanting to do this, and now was the perfect chance. She didn't want to wait any longer.

"Tallmarsh, as the new leader of ThunderClan, I hereby demote you as my medicine cat. You have done nothing good for our Clan and it is time for your ass to get out and let someone more able to do their job into the rank. You are to be stripped of your rank and become a warrior. GECKOPAW and MOSSPAW

The pair were pressed together, one a little more shaken than the other. Geckopaw had kept his gaze on both Flintstar and Duskfeather, his usual bubbly self was now quiet and serious. He was happy Flintstar had taken it so well...in fact he appreciated it. If the pair bickered he was positive the clan would have broken out into a war...what was it called again? Right! A Civil war. The thought scared the Bengal.

The curly furred tom looked down at his Littermate, brows furrowed together. Frankly, he wasn't really expecting Mosspaw to speak up the way he did. Normally he just went with the flow, dealt with whatever came when it came. Was it really that bad? Was Flintstar really that Ignorant to all that was going on?

Mosspaw, however was doing his absolute best to calm his churning stomach down. So much yelling and anger, he was so scared they were going to actually start killing one another! Thankfully Flintstar was calm about it, mature about it and accepted stepping down. However more and more aggressive events unfolded, even after Flintstar agreed to stepping down. Why? Why? He already accepted it? Why were they still fighting about this? Tallmarsh even?

ASPENPAW
At Bluegorse's words she beamed at him, fits of giggles coming from her as she hopped around. Paying very little attention to what was going on around her. They all seemed angry, why? Just because Duskfeather announced she was to be leader? Why was that such a bad thing? Isn't that what usually happens anyways, cats declare themselves leaders and then they are! They're all just angry because they didn't do it first probably. Or maybe they actually liked Flintstar as leader. Which, she herself, found incredibly stupid. He was nice....that was it. Though she was young she wasn't stupid. She knew they were low on food, she knew most of her clanmates were starving. Geeze so was she. Snailkit even died during their Tournament that he held instead of trying to find them some food.

"They're pretty stupid for arguing." she giggled, smiling at her clanmates around her. Though what she said was directed towards her new mentor, who surely wasn't paying attention to anything she was doing right now. It was more of a delceration to the clan as a whole. As Flintstar accepted Duskfeathers demand she tilted her head to the side. She couldn't tell if he was just a push-over, or very smart. Than Tallmarsh came clambering in which made the Apprentice giggle once again.

Aspenpaw skipped up to Tallmarsh and looked up to her, a gigantic smile plastered on her face. "Wouldn't you much rather follow a fox that feeds you, than a mouse that leaves you to starve?" she hummed.

Linnetwing couldn't help but get involved. Duskfeather was doing this for her clan and Tallmarsh couldn't seem to understand that. This stupid deputy was way out of line, and she was furious at Flintstar for allowing it. She turned to her leader, fury in her eyes. “You are a useless fleabag, do you understand? DO YOUR JOB, DAMMIT!” she snarled. She turned away from Duskfeather and was met with a grinning apprentice. “Know your place, kit,” she growled, shoving Aspenpaw away with a paw to the face. She was going to head towards the warriors den, but Linnetwing, her former patient, also had something to say. The former medicine cat stormed over to the warrior and growled, “That somebody just betrayed her leader. As someone who’s done that before, I’m well aware that this sort of thing-“ she gestured towards the deputy- “is how you destroy a Clan from the inside out. Our Clan is dying, and I think I’ll stick around to watch her burn it to the ground. Looks like the forest had the right idea after all!” With that, she headed for the entrance to the camp. Irispaw approached the den sullenly, trying not to throw up her stomach. She felt an emotion deeper than sadness lodged in her throat. But then again, she wasn't exactly sad. She wasn't really angry, or dissapointed, or lost, or grieving. She...was a bit of each. But most of all, she was hesitant. How could she move on from this wonderful place she called home? How could she leave it? How could she leave Tallmarsh, with all she'd done? She was just trying not to rush off without saying goodbye at this point. She didn't want to. She wanted to stay forever and ever and ever and ever and ever...that was childish of her. But then again, wasn't she one?

He didn’t object, as he was with Duskfeather on this one. Tallmarsh was no longer doing any good for the clan as their medicine cat. Just like he had been no longer doing any good as Thunderclan’s leader. As Tallmarsh turned on him with her fury, Flintstar shrugged with a small smile. “I’ve been called worse.” He responded, before leveling his expression again. ”But I hope you do understand that there are other means for Thunderclan to train a new medicine cat. She hadn't been in the medicine den since Duskfeather demoted her. Her scent was already becoming stale. And the scent of her apprentice, Irispaw, had finally been masked by the fresh scents of the herbs and her patients. But now, it was back. But it was slightly different. Now, her former apprentice stank of ShadowClan. The dark-furred tabby stood up straight as she could, though she was sure her hurt pride from the recent events was evident from her expression. "Come to take over for me, huh?" she said simply. "I haven't seen you in a while, Irispaw. I thought you went missing." She gazed at the medicine cat, trying to mask her expression of hurt. Nightclaw overheard the debate and walked over. "Me personally, I think everyone should state their oppinion. If we are a Clan, we need to listen to each other and talk about what can be done. We are a Clan, not a bunch of savages! If we are a Clan, then we need to ACT like one. This is ThunderClan, for StarClan's sake!" Saying this, Nightclaw hoped this would be taken into consideration. He hates when his Clanmates fight and argue. He thought to himself, If I were leader, I wouldn't let this kind of stupid, immature behavior happen. He would make a peace out of problems. Some cats may call him weak for it, but if thats what they think, they can go to the Dark Forest after death. Nightclaw returned to the rock he layed on before, and flopped down with the thought, There is nothing to be ashamed of for wanting peace. As Bluestar once said, The forest cannot thrive without the four Clans.

Springpaw twitched an ear, a little irritated. "Can't you learn that not everyone is always full of energy? We all make mistakes, " he muttered quietly. "And besides, I don't know who I should follow or not, since I don't even have a mentor." He twitched his nose, tail flicking, and watched Darkpaw. "Same for me, buddy. Same for me."

The molly's ears prick at Ravenspirit's words, and she turns her head to face him as he told her some bull about opinions and speaking. "What?" she quips. "I don't share my opinions?" Her tone was scathing, and fury sparks in her pretty blue eyes. "That whole meeting was Duskfeather and Bluegorse taunting everybody! That whole meeting was the warriors erupting into who supports who and what's deserved or not! They were literally JUST taking sides, Ravenspirit! That dumbass creep Hollowedaster smacked Flintstar! And I can't ask a simple question? I can't ask the cat demanding to become our leader why she chose to announce her plans just after a precious and happy tradition for us?!" She was angered by her new mentor's decision to 'teach' her some valuable life lesson over asking a question, something that never needed to be shamed. Ever. Even she had the sense for that!

Her eyes glittering with anger and her pelt beginning to prickle along her spine, she stands and glares at the older warrior. "If you think that's what I'm here for, keeping my mouth shut and acting on orders without question, you need help."

His bright amber-colored eyes narrowed at the apprentice. "I am perfectly fine with you speaking your mind, I have no problem with it. But you need to learn to form an opinion based on facts and not emotions such as right now." Ravenspirit was slightly annoyed at her outburst, this is not starting off on the right paw. Thinking to himself while a sigh escaped his maw. "I advise that you calm down right now, go take a walk or whatever you need to do to cool that hot head of yours. I was only trying to help and create a lesson out of this. I'm pretty sure you saw how this clan reacted to the leader position. Spatting insults, threats, violence. Do you truly want to live and have our clan work like that? I certainly don't." His voice grew hard and stern while he tried his best to make his tabby pelt lay flat. Hopefully she'll see the reasoning to this... His gaze met her fiery one and did not waver.

"Are you listening to me at all?" Plumpaw demands of the cat, incredulous at his insistence upon his 'point' or a lack thereof. "I wasn't stating an opinion on anything! At all!" She couldn't fathom what he could've possibly been thinking. But clearly, raising her voice was the wrong way to go about getting him to listen to her. She falls silent, long slender tail lashing angrily as she debates what to do. She could keep arguing her point with this mouse-brained warrior who was to be her mentor, or she could give up for the time being. Ravenspirit was missing her point entirely, and it seemed he was not open to accepting it no matter what.

Such a realization was indeed frustrating, but at least he gave her leave himself. Getting out of here sounded like a good idea, especially if no one was going to listen. "So be it, though. You aren't going to listen." The apprentice's expression had turned gloomy. She'd been hoping for her new mentor to at least appreciate and listen to her, but things didn't seem too optimistic anymore. "I'm going. See you later." The silver molly then snappily turns and pads off towards the camp's exit.

Oh fox-dung! The thought of going out into the territory made the tom think of the border patrol he was supposed to report to Duskfeather. Excusing himself from his new apprentice the brown-hued tom padded over to the deputy and soon to be a leader. "I'm so sorry. I forgot about reporting back to you about Shadowclan border patrol." Owlwatcher said sheepishly while hoping the molly won't yowl off his ears too badly. "We strengthen our scent but Shadowclan's side of the border was faint and it seems like they haven't checked it in a few days." He said shrugging as his marigold eyes looked into hers.

Shadepaw sniggered, remembering the time he had attacked the molly's apprentice, Duskpaw. It happened not long ago, in one of the 'Friendship games.' He gave that kit a good play, a play that she will remembered by looking at them on her bruised and broken body. He wished he could ask Foxbound if Duskpaw is okay, but bit his tongue. Literally.
The blood blooded his mouth, making the gruesome apprentice taste metallic and sour. He was hungry for more blood to satisfy his goals and thirst. He licked his lips, making droplets of blood stick to it.

The ginger she-cat glanced between the toms, giving Shadepaw a somewhat weary look. In all honestly, he creeped her out a bit. But Lionwhisker was okay. Plus, the clan did need food. And she really didn’t feel like sitting around the camp after all that had gone down. She did need some fresh air, and a good hunt would help with that. “Yeah, I’ll come hunting with you guys. A few pawsteps away, Brightpaw swished his tail nervously over the dirt, unsure what to make of the situation. Gathering his courage, he rose to his paws and hesitantly headed over to Flintstar. "I'm going to miss you as leader," he confessed. "I'd be glad to keep you as our deputy."

Linnetwing padded out of the warriors den after taking her break for a week. It was time to start trining her apprentice again, but they would have to still take it slow. She peered into the apprentices den. "Hey Brightpaw. Lets do some training. Anything you want, since we never got a chance after helping out in the nursery.", she called. Linnetwing didn't want him to fall behind at all.

But when he took me to Shadowclan, and I didn't know I'd have to stay...it was already done." She mewed, her words growing louder and louder. She couldn't help it. She may have been surprised, sad, a mess- but this was too far. Her mentors words were too harsh. As much as she wanted to erase this, erase everything...she had to stand up for herself. Something she'd learnt the hard way.
"If you can't see that I'm sorry, that I made an honest mistake, and that I still respect you and admire you and all of those things, then maybe you are just as bad as they are! I had no idea what was going on! and no cat bothered to tell me! If you don't want me here, then I'LL GO!" She yelled, tears starting to fall. They stained her cheeks, and wouldn't stopped. Tigerleap showed up in the entrance to the camp, carrying two mice in her jaws. She dropped her prey by the fresh-kill pile. It wasn´t much, but at least she had managed to catch something. She was a little disappointed though, she had been hoping to see Tallmarsh while she was hunting, but she couldn´t find the former medicine cat anywhere. Tigerleap was worried about the fact that TunderClan now had no medicine cat. If now Duskfeather thought that Tallmarsh was no good medicine cat, she could at least have let her be medicine cat until we got another.

Pinepath sat in an easy and open spot to the side of the cats, gazing up coolly at the leader. She hadn't really spoken to anyone yet since getting her warrior name. The silver oriental hadn't really felt like it. She felt rather confused and conflicted inside, still unsure of Duskfeather's loyalties to Staclan, whether or not they had decided to gift her lives. The new leader would definitely have to prove herself before Pinepaw really respected her.

***

Cedarstream padded in, head high and anger fizzled since the last meeting. She was interested to hear what the new leader had to say for herself. Perhaps something that would help cool the tensions that coursed through the cats. She glanced around at her clanmate, seeing mostly calm expressions and a few judgemental gazes. Though Duskfeather's first actions and words in her leadership
her true leadership with her nine lives would prove what path Thunderclan was on.

***

Dustbreeze crouched quietly near the back, eager to hear what Duskfeather had to say. Surely Duskstar now if all had gone well with Starclan. She shivered at the thought of talking to the warrior ancestors. It must have been scary... especially without a medicine cat to guide them. Well-the clan had a cat with the knowledge, but Duskfeather's first move had been dismissing him. Hence leaving Thunderclan without in the middle of cough season. Thankfully the illness had not yet touched the clan, possibly the doing of the fore that purged their territory not long ago. Her round worried eyes watched the new leader carefully.

Duskstar had just finished setting up her nest, making it comfortable enough for her to sleep in for the coming moons. The den was rather warm and cozy... albeit lonely. She would have to get used to not hearing the gentle snores of her Clanmates echoing through her ears. The Torbie flicked her tail, satisfied with her nest. Now there was another task to be done. Duskstar walked to the entrance of her den and poked her head out, searching the camp for Flintspirit's familiar form.

He wasn't sure if Starclan was going to give them a sign about it or anything, he would've expected one when they were at the Starcave, if there was one. Flintspirit had followed Duskstar into the clearing, his mind still a little clouded with meddled thoughts and way too many things he would have to sort through later. The whole life ceremony had been quite odd for him to watch, but enthralling at the same time. But, even though he now only had one life, he felt full of energy. Even the long trek back to camp hadn't deterred him.
It was to no surprise when Duskstar leaped atop the highpeak to announce a clan meeting, punctual as she was. Flintspirit didn't hesitate in taking his place at the bottom of the highpeak, sending a smile out to his clanmates. He would let them no that this new situation would in no way put him down. He could even see eye level with his clan now. Just like old times.

His tail curling around his paws as he sat, Jaggedhawk looked up towards Duskstar, ears perking in interest to see what she had to announce, especially after being awake all night. But I suppose that is to be expected, a meeting right after gaining lives from Starclan.

Moonbird was exhausted from her vigil, ready to go get some sleep in the medicine den, but of course Flintst... Flintspirit and Duskstar had to waltz into camp right as the sun was stretching it's rays above the horizon. Grumpily, Moonbird plodded towards the highpeak, sitting herself down near the back of the gathered cats. Maybe she could catch a few winks of sleep if this meeting turned out to be boring.

----

Cherrybubble and Foxbound made their way to the highpeak, both sitting within the gathered cats and glancing towards the new leader. Cherrybubble held an exasperated expression as she looked up towards the she-cat, whereas Foxbound was looking at her paws, ears perked to listen but having no intention to meet Duskstar's gaze.

"Well... there's quite a few diligent warriors, Bluegorse, Lionwhisker, Blossomclaw, but she has moved to the nursery now...." He hummed as he continued to think. "Cherrybubble, Cedarstream, Owlwatcher... And our four new warriors are also quite hardworking and active." The tomcat glanced back towards Duskstar, a small smile crossing his face. "But I doubt any of those four would like to become a medicine cat, after working so hard to achieve warrior status. I also believe that our choice should not only be active, but also diligent and somewhat organized." He let out a small chuckle at that. It was no laughing matter really, but Tallmarsh hadn't been the most organized medicine cat. Flintspirit would like to see a cat who knew what they were doing and was able to keep things under control when it got hard. Someone who worked well under pressure.

He was a loyal, diligent warrior, who was organized and got all of his work done immediately. And he had stood by her as her plan took place.
"I know just the cat," she mewed vaguely, then stood and walked to the entrance of her den again, poking her head out and searching the camp for a familiar warrior. "Lionwhisker! Come here, please. It was time for him to assign patrols again. Flintspirit was actually a bit excited, this had been one of his favorite things to do as deputy. And he wouldn’t mind continuing to do it. He only hoped he could put enough excitement into them, and express how important it was that his clanmates finished these patrols.
The deputy padded towards the middle of the clearing, ears flicking as he glanced around to see who would be best to send on a patrol.

[Patrols are due by MARCH 11TH, in EIGHT DAYS. Those who fail to complete the patrol will face punishment]

(Optional Prompt: There’s a few odd twoleg scents around the border, along with a couple of twoleg things, though the scent is mostly stale)

“Hey Sunsnow! I’d like you to lead a patrol to the Shadowclan border. Take Mosspaw with you, as well as Cranerose. Make sure the border is thoroughly marked. I don’t want Shadowclan thinking they can cross the border whenever they want. Make sure to report back to me Sunsnow.” He made sure that the tomcat had heard him before he turned to address the next patrol.

(Optional prompt: Thunderglade has been hunted in recently, and not by a cat from Thunderclan. By a fox. Will you track the scent?)

“Dawnblossom, you will lead a patrol to the Windclan border. Take your apprentice, Hazelpaw, with you, as well as Blizzardspark and Bluegorse.” He paused for a moment to make sure there was nothing particular he would need to add about the Windclan border. It had been quiet recently. “Bring your report to me once you have completed the patrol.”
[ Sassy Yelloweye BILL. pathos ]
_______

(Required prompt: there’s still one or two rogues hanging around Victory Woods. The feeling there is still uneasy.)

Flintspirit then looked around until he could spot the next patrol leader he would be assigning. “Owlwatcher, I want you to take Hollowedaster and Grimshadow with you to hunt in the new territory. You may take Petalpaw as well, but if it seems like there will be trouble, make sure she’s not part of it.” Warriors would be able to handle the rogues. Flintspirit didn’t want any more apprentices getting ruthlessly attacked, especially after what had happened to Duskpaw. “Report to me once you’ve returned.”
[ Shimm FlameQueen Grimshadow Blissie Bliss ]

_______

(No prompt; training opportunity)
Now for the last hunting patrol. With so little warriors, Flintspirit felt as if the clan was getting stretched thin. He needed to make sure the apprentices had opportunities to train. “Silversky and Mintfrost, take your apprentices, Blackpaw and Darkpaw with you, and go on a hunting patrol. But make sure the apprentices get some hunting practice. Report to me their progress when you return, both of you.”

“Pinepath, Stormwind, Leopardspirit, Moonbird! Go with Cherrybubble. She has some special instruction for you four.” Flintspirit nodded to the elder she-cat, she already knew what this was about.

With that finished, Flintspirit flicked his tail towards a couple more cats. “Cedarstream, bring Blazingpaw and you two will come with me to check the Riverclan border.” He would make sure all the other patrols were heading out before he did so himself. That would allow Cedarstream and Blazingpaw time to come and join him.

Flintspirit waited as Duskstar seemed to mull over the list he’d provided, glad that she was actually thinking through this. They really did need to be sure about who they chose. At her vague comment though, Flintspirit gave her an odd look, but remained quite once she was calling out into the clearing. Lionwhisker huh? Flintspirit agreed with her decision. Lionwhisker certainly was a cat who had a majority of the qualities they were looking for. As Lionwhisker came in, no doubt a little nervous, Flintspirit gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry Lionwhisker. You’re not in trouble. Quite the opposite in fact. And there have been quite a few of our clanmates who have gone missing, one can only hope they are safe.” He paused, then flicked his tail towards the leader. “Duskstar and I have a proposition for you.” He meowed, turning his gaze to Duskstar, allowing her to announce what they had been discussing moments earlier.

She found herself with a chuckle at her lips as the warrior held blatant concern for why he had been called. Duskstar flicked her tail in agreement with Flintspirit's words, allowing him to finish before she began to speak. Her posture straightened and a serious expression fell over her face, showing that such a proposition was not a joke.
"Lionwhisker, as you may know, Tallmarsh was demoted from her position due to negligence. She did not do her duties and nearly left Bluegorse to deal with filthy wounds. Once I pointed out her mistakes, she grew angry, holding a fiery temper that I do not see as trustworthy in a cat who must hold the safety of the Clan in their paws. Flintspirit and I had known that it was time for her to be stripped of her rank, and thus, I took the action necessary.
"However, that left ThunderClan without a medicine cat. In the cold, sickness-drenched season, we must replace Tallmarsh quickly. We need a cat who is trustworthy, who is organized and diligent, ready to handle any pressure that weighs on their shoulders. They must be willing to hold the life of every ThunderClanner in their paws, and look to the stars for guidance when it is sought. ThunderClan needs a cat who is loyal, who can learn fast and work efficiently. However, they must be willing to give up the chance of a mate, to not have any future kits, to see the Clan as their family and focus on the Clan's safety alone. They must be willing to work alongside Flintspirit and me, and they will help to keep ThunderClan strong.
"Lionwhisker, we want you to be ThunderClan's new medicine cat. You are a loyal, diligent warrior, and I know you are to be trusted with such a duty. Do you accept such a position, throwing away the life of a warrior, the chance to have a mate and kits, in favor of protecting the Clan with your knowledge?"
As she finished speaking, she stared at the tom with a fiery glint in her hazel gaze, awaiting his response- and hoping he would accept.

Stormwind's dream about squirrels was cut short when he heard Flintspirit. Why was he and all the new warriors called to see Cherrybubble? Only time would tell. He went over and sat by Leopardspirit. "What do you think this could be about?" He whispered to her.

Gazing at Flintspirit as the he spoke his curiosity grew . A proposition? Well now! a smile could be seen after Flint had spoken. Looking back at Duskstar he took in everything though he never expected this! His eyes slowly widened at the rank she was Giving him..him! she could have picked anyone. His mouth agape after she finished her speach. This is ...I can't believe it! Well if not deputy then yes! Yes I'll be your medicine cat! I'll do my best I swear to starclan!
"Yes! All I want is for thunderclan to thrive in any way possible. I promise upon the stars I will not abandon . I'll take this offer. " he finally meowed . He felt like a kit right now given an amazing surprise or something . Looking to each of them"thank you, both of you." after that he cleared his throat a few times "I'll be your medicine cat" he meowed with a more professional tone.

"Come on then, Blackpaw," Silversky grunted as she got to her feet. "Let's be off." She began limping out of the camp, with her head drooping ever so slightly.

Blackpaw followed the limping she-cat. Her ears were drawn slightly back as she eyed the limp with faintest hints of both curiosity and concern. Why was Silversky limping? The question plagued her mind as she padded forward after her.

Pinepath trotted up with the other gathering young warriors. Her fur prickled with excitement. They had been called to meet with a senior warrior for a special request! This could be her first warrior assignment that really mattered! Her heart thudded in her chest at the thought. It was nice to finally feel some more enthusiasm too after Flintspirit's demotion. He was happy, so she would be too. She kept quiet as she glanced around the other three warriors, waiting on Cherrybubble.

Cedarstream had been relaxing for a moment before the sun began to really rise, grooming her long tabby and white fur. Her emerald eyes flickered up with the movement of the deputy, ears prickling as she heard her voice and that of her new apprentice. A patrol would be a great opportunity for a fresh apprentice to understand the borders- especially one who was not familiar to the clan. Cedar had the feeling that her work was cut out for her in the youngster, he had a lot more to learn than your normal apprentice. She shook out her pelt as she trotted over to Flintspirit to wait for her apprentice.

"It will be nice to have you join us for this first day of training for Blazingpaw." She meowed as she took up a place beside him as the patrols dispersed. She glanced over at the tom, still looking to make sure everything was alright inside but she couldn't tell. This was his first day back acting as deputy and not leader. She had seen a flash of excitement when he had stepped into the clearing, so hopefully that would hold true and the new position would be better for him.

Looking down over the crowd of which had gathered, Duskstar felt her heart twinge. It was obvious that many of them would not trust her, that she would need to prove herself to them once more. But if that was necessary, then she would take the challenge with all the new traits StarClan had blessed her with. The Torbie's gaze passed over each and every face, remaining silent for many moments before she seemed to decide on what to say, maw opening.

"ThunderClan, when you were last gathered before me merely yesterday, I was your deputy. You held trust towards my actions, towards my decisions. I held but one life, and my name was that of Duskfeather. But now, as I look over you all today, I am your leader. I am Duskstar. It will take moons for me to prove that I can be the leader I wish to be, to make ThunderClan as strong as it had been before. But I am willing to take on the duty that I have bestowed upon myself for the greater good of all of us.

"I broke the trust of many yesterday, rushing through warrior ceremonies and focusing on myself. The impulsive demand for leadership may have been a shock to you all, and I do hope to repay each and every one of you in return. All I ask is that you are willing to forgive me, no matter how long it takes for me to rebuild that reputation that I had allowed to crumble to dust.

Things will not change overnight, but we must work together as a Clan, as a family, to rebuild our home. After the fire, we were weak, and we still are. Many of our Clanmates have gone missing and have yet to return. A kit died within our camp during what was to be a fun event to boost morale. Prey has been short and patrols are continuing to be left unfinished- before we know it, ThunderClan will be nothing. But I refuse to sit back and allow it to fall. Today marks the day that ThunderClan makes a change. For all of us.

A start must come to this change. ThunderClan is without a medicine cat, and in such cold weather, this is not to be tolerated for long. Sickness may bear down upon us at any moment and I do not wish to wait around for another issue to bring strain to our Clan. After speaking with Flintspirit, we have both come to a conclusion.

Lionwhisker [ SilentLamb ] will be the new medicine cat of ThunderClan. He has proven to be a diligent and loyal warrior, and is willing to give up such a life to put the health of the Clan in his paws. I entrust the safety of us all to him, and I do hope that he brings wellness in the moons to come. Lionwhisker, in ShadowClan, there is a tom named Thunderhowl. You will travel to ShadowClan tomorrow and request to speak with him- he will help you to gain the knowledge required to be a medicine cat."

In the crowd, she spotted Tallmarsh. Duskstar's eyes narrowed at the sight of the former medicine cat- good riddance. She knew Lionwhisker would actually do his job... and correctly.
Along with Tallmarsh, Duskstar caught sight of Flamepelt, her father's wish echoing in her mind. She felt a thin smile pull at her lips, looking at the pregnant she-cat with a brief flash of grief in her eyes.

"During the blessing of lives bestowed upon me by StarClan, welcoming me as the new leader of ThunderClan, a certain tom requested something of me. Flamepelt [ FlameQueen ], Blazestorm, your father, wishes for me to say that he misses you. He is living a life of peace within StarClan, and he will always watch over you from the stars."

She nodded to the she-cat before straightening up once more, flicking her tail and passing a gaze over her Clan. They were now hers to protect. And she was ready to do so.

"In the moons which follow this moment, we must remain resilient. ThunderClan can and will be as strong as it once was, and we will thrive just as all the others. Whether you believe in me as your leader or you are against my choices, I ask all of you to stand by me not as friends, not as Clanmates, but as family. We are ThunderClan!"

With the final call, Duskstar raised her muze to the sky, stamping her paw down to emphasize her point. She cried into the stars, hoping that each of those who had given her a life were watching over her with pride. From now on, the future relied on her.
It was time to make a change.

Listening, Lionwhiskers pride and confidence grew ten times greater. Duskstars words were sort of inspirational in his opinion ..to the still haters...probably not. He knew cedar may be one of them. And once she spoke his name out loud he puffed his chest out and bore the widest smile yet, it was nice to feel important . And He got to go to shadowclan tomarrow! Oh he couldn't wait!
Then he heard bluegorse in which he looked over at "I know! To be honest neither did I . This'll be thrilling ~" he somewhat purred and looked over at the crowd as he sat I'll do my best . I promise . "thanks blue" he added as he looked back at him.
"Duskstar ! Flintspirit!" he cheered which he almost forgot to do.

The young Birdpaw watched the announcement with great intent, her blue eyes intent on thier new leader. So much has changed recently... She'd only just become an apprentice but if felt like all of the stress was falling on the clan. The young she-cat scuffled on her meek grey paws, holding her shivering body tightly with her tail.

Linnetwing padded out of the warriors for once in her life she didn't feel like doing anything. She had been down for a while not feeling like herself at all. The silver tabby molly knew she was completely late, but she showed up didn't she. The warrior sat down.

Petalpaw saw Linnetwing pad out of the warriors den for the first time in a while. The young molly padded over to her adopted mother and sat next to her, touching her side with hers. The apprentice looked up at Duskstar as she spoke.

Fallenpaw was late as usual, so he padded out of the apprentices den and sat right outside away from every cat like he normally did. The black and white tom looked up at Duskstar as she mentioned who the new medicine cat was.

Petalpaw heard her name get called by the patrol leader, so she instantly ran up to them in excitement. This would be her very first patrol. How exciting! The apprentice was surprised that she was the first one to come at his call. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Petalpaw looked around for her mentor and the other cat who was called Grimshadow. "I'm here!", she said in excitement.

Ah, so this was about the medicine cat predicament. Yeah, it had turned out that Duskstar despised their medicine cat and demoted her instantly... Casting a glance over at Tallmarsh, the apprentice wonders if she'd need to seek another Clan's help now. After all, the trembling in her limbs still came around pretty frequently. And lack of sleep had been making her cranky as all Hell. What was she supposed to do, now? Whatever.

When Duskstar finally announces the new ThunderClan medicine cat, the silver molly blinks. I know that guy, she muses slowly, suddenly raking the crowd with her eyes for him until she locates the tom she'd attempted to play that game with. Hmph. He was too dopey and kind for the job, in her opinion, and would soon get ripped to shreds by half of the attitudy cats in here. Still, she supposed she'd need to congratulate him soon so that she could ask what she was supposed to do now. As the rest of the Clan begins to chant their leader's names, she scoffs. Dumbasses! They were excluding Lionwhisker even though he'd just been made a medicine cat! Lifting her nose to the sky, she allows the three names to roll off her tongue.

"Duskstar! Flintspirit! Lionwhisker!"

Nightclaw sat at the edge of the clearing away from the ohters. He half listened as Duskstar made her speech. He couldn't help still thinking of a way to prevent Duskstar from destroying the Clan from the inside. He was snapped out of his thoughts as his clanmates chant the names of the Clan's new Leader, Deputy, and Medicine cat. Nightclaw joined the chants but he didn't chant Duskstar's name as loud or with any enthusiasm. She is not the kind of Leader that ThunderClan needs. Maybe a Leader for a band of rogues, but not for us.he thought to himself as he chanted her name. StarClan light us a path, please.he pleaded. Nightclaw lowered his head and walked back to the warriors' den even though he wasn't dismissed. At the moment he really didn't care.

As her voice dwindles and she falls silent to await the next part of the ceremony and whatever it brought with it, Plumpaw catches someone out of the corner of her sight walking away from the gathering. Her icy blue eyes snap onto Nightclaw, who was padding away with a shockingly gloomy and dark expression on his face. She looks quickly between the Highpeak and the warrior again, then dashes over to him before he can reach the warrior's den where he was heading. "Where do you think you're going?" she hisses quietly so that she would not disturb the meeting. "Duskstar has not dismissed you, or this meeting at all for that fact! Go back and sit down, or are you not a warrior who gives and deserves respect?"

Lionwhisker’s enthusiasm brought a bright smile to Flintspirit’s face. This was the kind of attitude he had been hoping for. “No, thank you Lionwhisker, for being so willing. Thunderclan will thrive with you as the medicine cat, I can already tell.” He then chuckled a bit, flicking his ears. “Once you receive your training of course.” He supposed Duskstar would touch more on that with the tom, so Flintspirit stood, giving a respectful nod to the two other cats. “I assume there will be a meeting soon to announce your new position, so for the time being, I am taking my leave and will be out in the clearing.” With that, the tomcat disappeared out of the den.
