"Cobaltshade [ The Cannibal ], it is about time you received an apprentice. You will be Honeypaw's [ GrassRipple ] mentor. I trust you will teach her ..everything you know." Including how to remain balanced, as he hadn't missed how she nearly lost her footing over a twig.

"Now, RiverClan: a few of our Clan-mates seem to have gone missing. Blackpelt, Nightski, Beachpelt, Amberpaw, Willowpaw, Charmface, and.. probably some others. I intend on sending out a search party for them tonight. If you are a warrior who would like to volunteer, do so now. Otherwise I'll be choosing two cats to accompany me on this patrol."

Sparkheart listened to the announcement on a warrior getting an apprentice. He was glad there were more apprentices to nake fine warriors. What really interested him was when he mentioned a search party for missing clanmates. This was a good opportunity to show his loyalty for the third time. The former Shadowclan tom stepped forward. "I would like to volunteer to go on the search party.", he meowed. Sparkheart wanted to help find his missing clanmates.

A scruffy black head poked around the apprentice den entrance, wide green eyes flashing with intrigue. Blackpelt? Volunteers? Those were two words the curious little apprentice couldn’t ignore. She had been planning to hide away in her nest until the meeting was over (she didn’t think she could ever show her face to Lionstar again), but there was no way in all of Starclan that she’d pass up an opportunity like this to spare herself a little shame. Going on a search and rescue patrol AND having the chance to spit in her own fathers face when they found him? She’d be killing two birds with one stone.

“I’m going!” Beetlepaw announced raucously as she galloped toward the streamstone. “Out of my way! Move it, stink-brain! Mooove!!” She hurled childish insults at cats she nearly collided with as the crowd parted like the sea in an attempt to avoid being barreled into. “Put me in the patrol!” She demanded, sliding to a halt at Lionstar’s paws. “He’s my father, I have the right to go look for his stupid butt. Now let me go!”

Cobaltshade perked her ears up as she heard her name mentioned, she was finally getting an apprentice? For some reason, it surprised the she-cat, but regardless she stood up and turned to her new apprentice, Honeypaw, the young cat that tripped on a twig while coming up here. The blue-grey she-cat looked down at the young molly for a moment before dipping her head to touch her nose to the apprentice. "It's going to be a hard couple of moons, but I'll make you the best warrior I can possibly make you," she meowed quietly, an icy note to her voice but her eyes held a very dim warmth to them. Perhaps this is what she needed, an apprentice, to make her feel something again. Turning her head at Lionstar's next words, she nearly volunteered but her eyes flickered back down to her wound. She needed to see Shiverpetal before she did any duties. Wouldn't want to end up in the elder's den early.

Yarrowpounce listened to the ceremonies, not really paying much attention. I mean, who really paid attention to ceremonies, aside when you were yowling new names and providing support to the cats? It was the last part of the announcement that snagged his attention. Missing cats and volunteers to go find them. Briefly his gaze flickered about before he sunk his head. The others would think him an absolute coward if he didn't speak up..
"I can um. I can go, as a volunteer.." He meowed, trying to make himself heard above the other cats, though there was an uncertain note in his voice. BILL.

Stoatdance resided in the crowd, watching the ceremonies take place. She stifled a giggle as Lionstar seemed to butcher the apprentice's former name, though she didn't know the young she-cat. Her ears perked as the list of missing cats was said, and she blinked, eye filled with surprise. So many Clanmates going missing? Stoatdance tilted her head to the side and looked around, watching others volunteer. She contemplated the possibilities for a moment before standing up with a smile and dipping her head towards Lionstar. "I volunteer, if you will allow me to," she stated politely, making sure to speak loud enough for the leader to hear.

He watched from the Elders den, watching as ceremonies were conducted...rather loudly, actually. It felt like old times, before he was leader, before he was deputy even. He remembered watching as the leader covered the clearing in his words, putting the very stars in his clanmates eyes. But this time, there was no itch, no sense of unjust and pure hatred. He felt....well he wasn't sure how he felt. But it was nice.

With a drawn out sigh, he pushed his nose further into his paws. There's been a lot more free time for him since he's been cooped up in the Elders den. He's cracked the code on why they're all kooky. Too much time on their paws. However the lazy peacefulness that he was drowning in froze as Lionstar began to list all the cats that were missing. He never even noticed it. How did he not notice it? The frozen feeling melted and began to burn with rage fueled flames. With a grunt he pushed himself up off the ground and marched towards the golden feline. Letting out a pained wheeze everytime he bumped into someone and visa versa.

Once he was close enough, practically in front of the leader, he took another step forwards. "I'm coming." he barked.

There were a handful of volunteers this time around, and that pleased Lionstar. He could use two of the warriors easily. "Emberheart [ Psycho Bandit ] and Stoatdance [ hxneysuckle ], you'll be coming with me."

He was about to end it there, shoulders bunching to leap off the rock when that shiny bug stomped her way through the crowd. "Oh, it's you." Lionstar's voice droned with disinterest. "Come to lose again in a fight you started?" There was no Bigpaw this time around, which was almost a shame. Lionstar liked it when he crushed her. Still, he liked how determined she was to find a cat she never met. "Fine, Bugpaw [ xeno ]. Stay by one of us unless you want to get plucked away by a bird.

"Yarrowmumble [ The Cannibal ], instead of joining us I would like for you to take Scarface [ Nebby ] and Minnowmiss [ hxneysuckle ] and head out to the beach. I want our borders expanded to cover it all. This time, be timely please. I don't want another incident where your patrol is missing for a moon.

"That includes this Clan meeting. And no, Fallenstream [ Starfall ]. You became an elder for a reason. You're not coming with-- you'll just hinder the patrol." Like he hindered the Clan with his stagnant leadership. Lionstar liked to think he was doing a damned good job of reviving RiverClan.

Leaping down, Lionstar beckoned his patrol to follow him as he started toward the camp entrance.

Stoatdance quickly padded closer to Lionstar, immediately moving to follow a few pawsteps behind him. She stayed silent, though she nodded her head to show that she was ready and listening. Her tail remained low to the ground and she prepared herself for what could happen. Stoatdance's eye flicked to look at the young she-cat, surprised that Lionstar was allowing her to come. She shook away the surprise at the thought that one of the cats was Bugpaw's father, having briefly heard the young apprentice speak. Her lips pulled into a thin line as a more serious expression fell on her face, and she quickened her pace to remain close to the leader, glancing around at the other two felines that were named.

She swallowed and nodded with a "y-yes sir!", rising to her paws and boundind towards her assigned patrol members. "A-Are you all r-ready to g-go?" she inquired, paws shuffling. What if something comes out and attacks us? Will there be dangerous things there? I don't want to be attacked! What will my Clan think if I just run away from a fight? I don't want to be ridiculed! Her thoughts ran wild, a clear panic in her eyes before she blinked away the thoughts and tried to calm down, looking at her fellow patrol members and awaiting an answer.

Sparkheart heard his leader call him by the right name, but he ignored it. He didn't care what he called him. He had been included in an important task. He had become friends with almost everyone in Riverclan and wanted to help find those who had went missing. The ginger tabby tom stood beside Stoatdance and Beetlepaw. Sparkheart stood there and waited for further instructions.

Beetlepaw scoffed dismissively at Lionstar’s attempt to rile her. She hadn’t gotten over it yet, but at the very least she could use it as an excuse to make it clear that she wasn’t going to be walked over like dirt. “Oh yeah? I’ll fight you too, you ugly yellow creep! Bring it on!” Of course, she had no intention of actually starting a fight with the leader in the middle of camp- she’d be stomped like an ant- but it would be fun to stir a reaction out of him if she could.

When Lionstar gave in, she sneered triumphantly and puffed out her chest with pride. She’d finally gotten her way. It seemed bullying and being generally butt-headed got her what she wanted after all. Go suck a rock, mom. “Ha! I’d like to see it try!” The little apprentice scampered after Lionstar, tailing him closely like a chick to a hen. She’d die before she’d admit it, but he’d actually managed to frighten her with the idea of being carried off by a bird. Could that really happen to her?

He was a little miffed it felt like his meeting was late, but so much had happened in the span of just a few moments. At least he could look forward to announcing the success of one of their expansions, and they could celebrate the promotion of one of their apprentices. Fennelheart padded into the crowd, ears flat from the cold and eyes squinted. I wonder what this meeting is about. It sure feels like Lionstar has been calling a lot of them lately.

As she settled down, her pure white pelt rippled, shining in the sun. Fennleheart yawned and took a deep breath of the crisp winter air, focusing her orange gaze on Lionstar, pretending to listen. Then the she-cat delved back into her thoughts. She liked to do this- it was a good distraction for when she was bored.

Like now.

I don't really like my name. It's just so... boring. Fennelheart. Couldn't I have been named, I don't know, Fennelstorm? Or maybe Fennelfrost? Hm, that's a good one. I wonder what it would be like if cats had wings like birds. We could hunt better, probably. Would the wings replace forelegs? I bet if we had wings my name would be Fennelflight. That's a good name, I like the sound of it.

Or maybe it's for the best that we don't have wings.

After all, it would make killing much easier.

A shudder ran down her spine as Fennelheart tried to shove away the cobwebs of her mind, yanking herself back into the 'waking world' and refocusing her gaze on Lionstar with a fake smile.

Still, her thoughts would not cease once they had taken that turn.

You're a killer. You want wings so you can kill. You want to rip out Lionstar's throat and take his place like the vile, ambitious cat you are. You know I'm right.

You know you want to.

Now that all of that should be sorted, Eaglepaw [ Lilyfur2], come forward!"

Lionstar was looking forward to this one. He barely recognized this apprentice but he was pleased he had completed his training... unlike his companions.

Ah, yes. Lionstar was pleased with how quickly Eaglepaw stepped up-- much faster than the others.

"I, Lionstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in his turn.

"Eaglepaw [ Lilyfur2], do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Sugarapple limped forward as quick as she can with all three limbs to quickly nod at Lionstar and faced the new queen with a sweet gaze. "My, my! What do we have here?" No matter how many moons it's been since she joined Riverclan, the weird clan style of naming cats was still odd to her. Bella is a beautiful name! She wouldn't have personally changed it herself. But, rules are rules and Lionstar is iffy with foreign names from what she'd witness on many ceremonies. "Nice to meet you Tawnyfog. Let me first get you settled in the nursery den, it looks like your stomach is 'bout to burst with kits!" She pad up to the feline brushing pelts, flicking her tail toward a den. "Now, there are a couple more things I would like to announce, ceremonies aside.

"The first is that I am officially declaring SkyClan's old territory and the beach as RiverClan's! SkyClan's land will now be known as 'Lionsrange' due to the rugged terrain, and the beach will be named 'Lionsbeach'-- for obvious reasons, I'd hope. Warriors, Lionsrange is a fair distance from RiverClan's main territory and should be treated with caution at all times. Take another warrior with you and make sure you have no more than two apprentices at a time.

"The other thing I would like to address is a different project that was briefly put on hold..: the tunnels! For many of you who are unaware, I want to reconstruct the old tunnels below the Clan territories to reclaim RiverClan's old camp as a back-up shelter and provide us with alternative routes if we ever need to evacuate camp." Or ambush another Clan... "I am looking for volunteers for these patrols. You will be placed in groups of three and expected to dig out the tunnels that are in decent enough shape to reuse. If you'd like to volunteer, go to my den. If I don't get any volunteers, I will pick cats at random and expect you to participate in this task."

He didn't think he needed to explain what would happen if they didn't. Lionstar's patience was thin with cats not completing patrols or doing their job, and it wouldn't be long before he just.. snapped.

"This meeting is dismissed."

Cobaltshade padded over to the Streamstone as Lionstar yowled for everyone to join, unsure if she was surprised to see him calling a clan meeting or not. Lionstar had to have been the most active leader in terms of clan meetings, that she's seen in her life time. It didn't particularly matter of course, she would make it to everyone she could and listen to what had to be said. It could be ceremonies, it could be important clan news, either way it was important and needed to be heard. Seated near the front, she turned her head upwards, eyes focused on the yellow tabby, waiting for him to start speaking.

--

Yarrowpounce edged over with a small flick of his ear, head lowered in his usual fashion. He only hoped that this was just another ceremony meeting, or at the very least had nothing to do with him. He didn't like the idea of being called out in front of all the clan, having all of those eyes on you, watching your every move. Maybe this meeting wouldn't even last long and he could go back to enjoying his meal.

--

Grouseheart padded out of the elders den with a small yawn, taking his seat at the back of the gathering crowd, eyes glimmering with curiosity. She had to bite her tongue to not snap at the apprentice for her words. The scarred she-cat watched from the side of the den, her tail curled neatly over her paws, waiting for the discussion to end. Her expression was blank, though she mentally snickered at the snarky apprentice being called out for her behavior. Once she was addressed, Stoatdance stood and nodded, padding closer to Spiderpaw and keeping a close eye on her. "Come on, we are going to wait for the Clan meeting to be called," she ordered, nudging the apprentice's side and leading her out of the den.
What is Lionstar going to do? she thought, her ears perking as she sat below the Streamstone, head turned to keep her full attention on Spiderpaw. "Sit and wait. I'm sure you can be obedient enough to follow that simple order," Stoatdance stated, a smirk twitching at her lips. Whatever he does, it will most likely be of the intensity that she deserves for a punishment, given what he said about her. This may be her only experience with the apprentice, but Stoatdance presumed that she had caused trouble before, be it with her actions or her smartass words.
As Lionstar hopped onto the Streamstone and called the Clan meeting, she looked up and flicked her tail. All of her attention was now on him, curious as to what his chosen punishment will be.

(I don't mind :) I'm happy to have Dirtfur interact more with another RiverClan cat)

The brown tomcat stopped covering himself in dirt as a young apprentice approached him and spoke up. The apprentice has a pelt of black and eyes that glowed with amber lighter than Dirtfur's. He could see the black apprentice's brow pointed upward. "Uncomfortable, yes; but is good for my survival." he twisted his head to take his eyes off the tall apprentice, who is not yet taller than Dirtfur himself. However, another question came out of the big kit's maw. Turning back, he saw a now-frown pressed on the apprentice's muzzle. "No I'm not hiding from our great leader. I'm not hiding at all! In fact, I am surviving!" gee, this kit is like Frozenpaw!

he blink, leaning back away from the tom. wormpaw pondered for a moment, squinting his eyes as gazed the warrior up and down. survival? did this cat have a disease to where they would die without dirt? his eyes widened at the thought, scrunching his face up. "is there treatment for your disease..?" wormpaw ask, all trying to make sense of this.
his gaze flickered away for a moment, generally checking to see if the leader was starting soon. wormpaw lack an opinion of lionstar. all he knew was that the leader was overwhelming and fluffy. "oh, do you mean to blend in with your surroundings?" he gasp, turning his attention back to the dirt-covered tom. that was.. a good idea actually. if you were intimidating seemingly came out of nowhere... the clan would surely respect your mysteriousness.

Dirtfur glared at the black apprentice as he examined. A disease? You can't hide from a disease.... The disease finds you and you'll never escape from it, Dirtfur thought carefully, looking up at the sky as if having a flashback. He snapped back to reality to see that the apprentice was checking on Lionstar. The brown tomcat also glanced back to see if the leader will now speak. The comment from the apprentice got Dirtfur's attention. Finally! Maybe he actually get it now.
"Yes I am blending in, who knows what lurks in the shadows. Could be badgers, foxes, or traitors!"

The tabby tomcat took a step back from the apprentice's unconsidered words that make Dirtfur think is an insult. He death-stared to the tall older kit. If that apprentice talk more insults, he will get a nick on the ear from Dirtfur!
Then a boring boo came from the apprentice who got right in the dirty cat's face, the dirty cat does not like that. The dirty cat unsheathed his claws and gripped the earth.
Although, the brown tabby got a...somewhat compliment. This apprentice is asking for elder duties. As he once again took off his eyes from the tall cat, he got yet another comment from the annoying tom. Wormpaw? Really? Why not Ravenpaw, who in StarClan names a RiverClan cat a Wormpaw?
Dirtfur opened his maw to speak out his thoughts, but as he looked at his paws covered in dirt, he close shut his maw. These Clan names are harsh sometimes... Shaking his head, he return his glance back to Wormpaw. "Surprise, surprise. My name is Dirtfur"

"Spiderpaw [ tutler]! Get your filthy tail over here." She hadn't yet shown her face despite Stoatdance's presence, and Lionstar was losing his patience.

Fawnsqueak blinked the sleep from his eyes when he heard Lionstar's call for a Clan meeting, every muscle in his body stiff from the rather poor choice of dozing off on a rock. It was one of the few places in camp without a dusting of snow on it, and the dens weren't an option, but it was certainly biting him now as he rose to his paws and took a seat near the Streamstone. When he heard Spiderpaw's name specifically, he flicked an ear in idle interest.. it was a name he'd basically forgotten until now-- it was surprising she was still here.

Milkmallow joined the RiverClanners after some internal conflict over his presence. He wasn't sure he was supposed to be here. Should he have left for WindClan? A shudder passed through him, dreading what felt like an inevitable return to the wasteland of a moor inhabited by shadows and skeletons. So he hobbled into the crowd and tried to avoid wincing from the discomfort of a slowly-healing leg wound. Maybe binding it himself with cobwebs wasn't the best idea.

Sunblaze had just been returning from a little hunting trip when the meeting was just beginning to kick off, with nothing to show for. Yeah, it’d been a bust. But he saw a deer up super close! Almost too close, actually. It nearly squashed him underhoof.. Which, despite the ‘almost dying’ part, he thought was just about the coolest thing ever. In fact, he was so engrossed by his deer experience, that in his reminiscing he’d hardly noticed the crowd gathered beneath the Streamstone. Uh oh.. How late was he? Trying his best to act inconspicuous, the ginger tom hurriedly snuck through the tightly packed bodies to find a vacant spot and settled in just in time to hear “spiderpaw”. Were they getting a ceremony? It didn’t seem that way.. Lionstar was very obviously furious with them. Oh dear.. A punishment, surely. But what could it be? Sunblaze was genuinely worried for the apprentice, knowing well Lionstar’s wrath.

Beetlepaw wasn’t very enthused about meetings to say the least. But something told her todays would be worth attending. The cynical apprentice moseyed on over to the Streamstone and took a spot towards the rear where she hoped Lionstar couldn’t spot her. Unfortunately, that also meant that she couldn’t see squat past the much taller bodies of her clanmates. It seemed she’d just have to listen.. The apprentice spotted Pigeonpaw, who she’d somewhat befriended a little while ago, further ahead in the crowd and for a moment, she considered moving to sit by her. Unsure if Pigeonpaw would appreciate her company however, she decided against it, slinking further into the shadows of the warriors in front of her.

At last, the leader of RiverClan, Lionstar, gave out his announcement. Oh boy, an apprentice seems to be in trouble due to the golden brown tom's order. Spiderpaw emerged calmly from the crowd, wearing a smug expression and a rather uninterested gait about her. Stoatdance had ratted on her and now she was tangled in a mess with her former mentor and now leader of the clan.

“Where you calling me dearest leader? Or did I hear wrong” she called back to him dropping down to a seat before the streamstone. It was daunting to be before all these cats, a fear she wasn’t often faced with. She glanced around at the faces surrounding her then back at Lionstar to which she could briefly flash a smug expression. Give it your best old man.

Lionstar made a point of ignoring her, eager to get started now that her rat hide had arrived.

"RiverClan," he boomed loudly. "The individual you see called before you has spent several moons doing nothing for the Clan, unless eating all our food counts! She refuses to train, has chosen to intentionally cross the borders out of spite, and now has almost killed one of our other apprentices by taking him out of camp without the supervision of a warrior and watching as he fell into the freezing river and struggled to get out. If not for Eagleflight and Stoatdance, Blazepaw would be dead, and Spiderpaw [ tutler] would have concealed that in order to minimize any punishment she would have received.

"Given these circumstances I am left with no choice. Skinpatch, you are hereby banished from RiverClan and our territory. You are stripped from your status as a Clan cat, cast out; if a RiverClan cat is to see you they are to drive you out, and if you insist on being a pest.. RiverClan, you have my permission to kill her if she refuses to be obedient. I will not tolerate her trespassing, especially after she has put our Clan-mate in danger.

Cobaltshade's eyes narrowed as she heard the news of what the apprentice did, her teeth instinctively gritting together out of anger. Not only was she completely useless to Riverclan, but she also attempted to kill a clanmate. Had Lionstar ordered someone to kill that apprentice right now, in front of everyone, she wouldn't have batted her eye. In fact, perhaps she would have even volunteered to do so. Such a lousy excuse of a cat didn't deserve to be known as a Riverclan cat. Didn't deserve to be known as a clan cat at all. Listening on, she would nod her head in agreement with the leaders choice to banish her. Probably better than she deserved, but banishment might lead to death for an apprentice anyways. Especially one that was leeching off the clan anyways. She wouldn't know how to catch her own food or fight off attackers. She was as good as dead when she was lead over that border. The only question was, who would have the honors?
Ears perking up as she heard her name, she immediately stood and dipped her head. "With pleasure Lionstar." She reminded herself of the leaders statement, 'you have permission to kill her if she refuses to be obedient'. Turning to the apprentice, she turned her icy blue-green gaze down upon her. "I will drag you out by your scruff if I have to, so get moving before I take that freedom away."

His ears swiveled in different directions as he attempted to pick out bits and pieces of conversation. But when his sleep-deprived blue eyes landed on Spiderpaw, all exhausted confusion cleared.

He couldn't help but stare, bottom jaw hanging open in shock, as Lionstar snarled down at her. "Who in their right mind would kill a Clanmate?" he squeaked out. It was an outrageous thought, simply outrageous. Poor Blazepaw. What had that poor cat done to deserve such horrid treatment? He edged into the crowd, drawing closer in an attempt to get a better view of the traitor that stood before RiverClan.

Was this some sort of sick game he was playing at? Lionstar wouldn’t banish her for that.. all that.. would he? She could hear the wave of shock rippling through the crowd and felt her muscles tense. She stood in an instant tail lashing furiously “fine.” she finally managed to muster. Perhaps the shock hadn’t quite set in... she stood facing this tom with her entire life behind her.. and now she was being forced to leave it behind. She felt her shoulders sag.. like a horrible weight was dragging her down from within. She wasn’t sad yet.. not that she had much time to think of it before another shrill voice interrupted her thought process. “Oh wouldn’t you like that sweetheart” she spat back in disgust sizing the molly up. She was almost surprised by the intensity of the punishment, but she didn't speak up about it. It was for the best. Attempted to kill? That was not how it went at all! Blazepaw had to bite his tongue to keep from leaping up and yowling out the truth. He knew it would do him no good to argue against Lionstar's words. For all anyone knew, even Stoatdance and Eagleflight, was what the leader had just told them. No one knew that Blazepaw had taken that jump into the small pond by himself. That he was simply being stupid with an equally stupid clanmate. Spiderpaw hadn't helped his bad actions, no, but she also hadn't been the one to push him in the river at all. They weren't even near the river. But Stoatdance and Eagleflight had known it wasn't the river. He cast both of them a hard look, focusing more on Stoatdance than on Eagleflight, as she had been the one to approach Lionstar with Spiderpaw. This felt like betrayal. She was getting all the punishment. But Blazepaw dug his claws into the dirt, a shiver racing up his spine once more. He wasn't sure if it was from disgust at his actions in this situation, or because he was still weak and cold. But either way, Blazepaw ducked his head down, curling his tail closer to his body and trying the hardest he could not to interfere in a way that would cause anybody further trouble. Also to avoid making any eye contact with.... Spider.

He couldn't remember anybody ever being exiled before, and he certainly hadn't thought it'd be her regardless of her... several annoyances. "That explains why I never saw you around, I suppose," he said through a mumbled sigh, directed at Spiderpaw but unsure if she'd actually be able to hear him. It was a somber occasion with the dreary mood hanging in the air, but Fawnsqueak was ashamed to feel a sense of relief in knowing Spiderpaw wouldn't be around to endanger anyone else with her carelessness or suck all their leaf-bare prey while contributing nothing. Straightening up, he inhaled, tried to collect his composure as he gazed at her evenly. He could do this. "Spiderpaw, I..." His throat felt tight. "I thought you were better than this. As ready to kill as Cobaltshade was, she was a hard cat to influence, she always had been. It ever came down to another clan capturing her and torturing information out of her, she would never crack. No matter what they said, what they did, this she-cat was not one to crack. The only time she had ever shed tears and shown weakness was the day her mate died, and the week after realizing her kit wasn't coming back. If Spiderpaw, really she shouldn't even be referred to as that anymore, thought she could get under this warriors skin? Then she was very sorely mistaken.
Briefly she looked up to Lionstar to listen to his final words before looking back just as the smaller molly was sizing her up. There was not a flicker of emotion on that cold warriors face as she looked upon the younger cat. Young, old, or same age, Cobaltshade didn't care. She was not one you wanted to fight, and especially not alone. If there was anything she was good at, it was dispatching another cat quickly and efficiently.
"Move exile, this is your last warning," she meowed with force, ready to give her a strong cuff to the head if she didn't start moving within the next couple of moments.

The orange tabby glanced over the crowd, sifting through the throngs of cats until his eyes landed on the cat called Dirtfur. He wrinkled his nose and stifled a snicker. Wormpaw and Dirtfur. What a fitting pair. Ah, and two more cats Lionstar deemed to be slacking. Platypaw shuffled his paws, choosing to fix his gaze on the ground instead of seeking out the others. It may have been funny to oggle at them, but he didn't want to draw unwanted attention to himself.

Not like it mattered, though. He heard his name echoed in Lionstar's thundering voice, and glanced up, startled. What could the giant golden tom want from him? What had he done? Unless one counted the one tiny sentence he'd uttered at the beginning of the meeting, nothing! Nevertheless, he was determined to face the leader with unwavering confidence. Lionstar was an admirable warrior, and Platypaw wanted to become just like him. Or perhaps something similar; no one could even dream of surpassing Lionstar. He gazed into Wormpaw's light amber marbles, bent his head, and touched his nose with the tabby's nose. "You will be a great warrior someday." he assured the lanky apprentice.
Pricking his ears from Frozenpaw's name, he stared in disbelief. Am I failing as a mentor? he looked back at Wormpaw, and thought back to himself, At least I'm teaching this apprentice.

Lionstar squinted his eyes at the orange tabby. "I'm going to be honest here: I don't know what a 'platy' is, and I'm not sure I want to. The first thing we're going to do is adjust your name: from this moment until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Alderpaw [ Slushie] as your fur resembles the skin beneath the bark. Mumblepounce [ The Cannibal], I trust you will find your voice and teach this young tom everything he needs to know in order to finish his training."

Platypaw raised an eyebrow. He'd never taken the time to think about it, but now that Lionstar was saying it, he realized he didn't even know the meaning on his name. But even if he agreed with Lionstar on this, it didn't mean he had to like what came next. The expression of confidence morphed into one of confusion, and then dismay. "But I don't want to be called Alderpaw!" he blurted. "My name is Platypaw!" Tail dropping, he once again looked to the crowd. This Mumblepounce sounded lame. A lame name almost always belonged to a lame cat. And now Platypaw - no, Alderpaw now, stupid name, even if it made a thousand times more sense - was forced to be apprenticed to this cat. He glared at the dirt, trying neither to seek out his new mentor nor disappear back into the crowd. He wanted to know why Lionstar felt the need to change his name. It wasn't fair.

the apprentice wasn't expecting the name dirtfur to come out of lionstar's mouth. actually, no, he should have expected it. wormpaw hesitantly dip his head, "thank you, " he meow before taking a step back. he was 99% dirtfur was only his mentor because of their names. perhaps he should also put a worm into lionstar's nest. maybe ear. wormpaw closed his eyes briefly, touching his nose to dirtfur's. he reopened, nodding softly. "i won't let anyone stop me, " the tom declared, but couldn't not feel a tinge of guilt. it felt as if lionstar had already given up on frozenpaw by giving dirtfur to him as a mentor. yet, wormpaw sat down next to his new mentor-- yet, if the apprentice hadn't been slacking in the first place, they wouldn't be in this position-- he reassured himself. he lift his head, listening to the announcement. the black-furred tom was zoned out, only keywords registering as his gaze wander to the dirt.

"Your name is Alderpaw. Get used to it, kit-- I'm not reverting it."

And now.. time for his wrap-up.

"RiverClan, this is going to be a final reminder that I am taking volunteers for the tunnel expansions. If I don't receive more by tomorrow, I will be randomly assigning cats and I do expect progress to be made on these patrols. Any volunteers can meet me in my den..

"In addition, there seems to be an influx of coyotes toward our border with Seastones. One of our warriors, Blackpelt, was found mutilated near there with the stench of those mongrels around him. Warriors, tread this area cautiously-- I plan on sending out a predator patrol to sweep the area once the tunnels have enough volunteers.

"With that, this meeting is dismissed."

Riverpaw was sure how she liked the meeting. An exile? That was kind of scary. That and everyone around her was quite loud. When her and her bothers names were motioned she looked up in surprised only to flinch back. Yeah, she still wasn't doing enough for RiverClan. Even if she finally had a good mentor. Looking to her paws Riverpaw held in a whimper. "I'm sorry..." She meowed quietly. The way things were going she would probably end up exiled to. Maybe even getting killed.
When Lionstar said he was still looking for volunteers Riverpaw glanced up slightly. Could she help there?

Frozenpaw was mad. He was training! He even fought well with Dirtfur, who had another apprentice! This was not fair. He was actually trying now. Sorta. With the mention of coyotes the large toms ears twitched. That's it! He could prove himself there. A cat taking out a coyote? That'd for sure make him a warrior.

Yarrowpounce was vaguely paying attention to the meeting as it went on, a cat got exiled, he caught that, Wormpaw was apprenticed and given a mentor, Dirtfur, got it. His mind was elsewhere at the moment. He needed to figure some things out, mostly he wanted to prove himself as a more useful warrior than what he currently felt like. Maybe he could be asked to be put on more patrols.. Did that prove that you were a good warrior? Probably. Would Lionstar even want him on more patrols?
The tip of his tail bobbed slowly back and forth in thought until he froze solid as he heard his incorrect name that only Lionstar called him by. 'Wait, wait who? Me, mentor?' It had been many moons since he had a mentor it felt, and when he did, he was still a Skyclan cat. Eyes widening in momentary fear, he soon spotted the apprentice he was supposed to be mentoring. Approaching, he caught the name and breathed an inward sigh of relief. "It's Yarrowpounce, not Mumblepounce.." he meowed to the visibly upset young tom. Glancing away, he contemplated on whether or not to say more before leaning in to simply touch noses with him. He could talk to Alderpaw more later. After all these cats cleared away and he could talk at a decent level without yelling.

Spiderpaw stood facing the exit of camp, staring at everything she was about to leave behind forever. All because Blazepaw decided to go jumping into a pond. She let out a small laugh between her teeth looking distant from those who spoke down at her in that moment. She couldn’t feel anger in that moment, in fact it didn’t really feel like it was happening. Funny how things worked that way. She turned to cobaltshade briefly, she looked just about ready to claw her ears off. She chewed her lip and turned away from her. Marching herself past Fawnpaw- or whatever his warrior name was now.

“Well Im so sorry to disappoint.” she cast him a glance over her shoulder as she passed by. Grow up. she snorted and passed them by quickly. The longer she was here the more she’d think about it- she needed to be out of this clearing before the whispering started to bother her.

Alderpaw turned to find Yarrowpounce, his eyes glistening. A lump was rising in his throat, though he couldn't tell if it was sobs or bile he was holding back. Probably both, he concluded, because he was feeling naseous. Why did Lionstar change my name? I don't want to be Alderpaw. I'm Platypaw. I don't care if I don't know what it means. It's who I am.

He didn't react when Yarrowpounce touched noses with him, but secretly he was glad the tom's name wasn't Mumblepounce. And this cat didn't seem so bad, at least not now. Alderpaw stared at nothing in particular, and then, stumbling forward a step or two, pressed the top of his head into Yarrowpounce's chest fur. He squeezed his eyes shut. "Why did he have to change who I am?" he murmured. "It isn't fair. It isn't!"

Lionstar's voice boomed throughout the clearing as he entered the camp, wasting no time as he headed for and leaped onto the Streamstone. He didn't even check to see if Greenfur had made it back with him.

For once, no ceremonies would be done today-- he had one important thing on his mind.

Stoatdance looked up from where she was resting in the clearing, her tail flicking back and forth. She walked closer to the Streamstone and stared up at Lionstar, interest and curiosity shining in her eye. Sitting down, she waited for the Clan to gather, curling her tail over her paws neatly and awaiting for the sudden meeting to continue. What was this about? Surely there wasn't any new apprentices or warriors to be made? She cast a quick glance around the clearing, taking note of the felines sitting around. Surely not. Unless something else was on Lionstar's mind.

Eagleflight joined Lionstar, staying in close proximity to the seastones. He didn't know what this meeting was about, but he could sense some sort of emotion rolling off from the other tom. He wrapped his feathery tail around his paws and waited expectantly.

Pigeonpaw scurried out of the apprentice's den. This wasn't about her, was it? No, couldn't be. Not yet. She arrived fairly early, claiming a spot towards the center of the clearing, then turning to look for her brothers...or perhaps Fawnsqueak.

Alderpaw emerged from the apprentice's den. Once again his eyes were narrowed, but not because of exhaustion. His pupils were thin dark slits of irritation and resentment. Lionstar was yelling, again, and had just stopped him from taking his daily nap. Again. Alderpaw sat as far away from the Streamstone as possible, although in a spot that was within earshot. As much as he hated to admit it, he was curious about what the golden leader had to say. Maybe it had to do with the strange predators he had talked about in the last meeting.

Either way, Alderpaw would find a way to redeem himself after last time. He had embarrassed himself in front of the entire Clan by breaking down like a kit, and in front of Lionstar himself. Pull yourself together, he hissed silently. It's just a dumb name. You'll get over it, and you'll prove yourself, and then everyone will see just how magnificent you are! Maybe taking down one of those predators would do the trick. Yeah... yeah, that would definitely work! He flexed his claws excitedly, eyeing Lionstar with a proud expression. After the meeting, he'd go off and find one of those things Lionstar had been talking about. But first, he had an announcement to listen to.

Ratpaw yawned and stretched as he walked into the clearing just in time to hear Lionstar's call the meeting. He rolled his eyes, sending a scowl in the direction of the golden asshole before searching the clearing for a place to sit. He spotted a fellow apprentice, though their name was blanked from his mind. The white tom flicked his tail and walked closer to the apprentice, sitting down beside them and casting a side-glance. They seemed to be annoyed, though he didn't pay too much mind to their expression.
"What's this Clan meeting from the golden-assed leader this time? We've had at least five in the past moon, I swear. At this point we might as well stay inside the camp, awake at all times, to avoid being screeched at like a bird." Ratpaw snorted and flicked his ear, narrowing his eyes toward Lionstar. Or are you going to embarrass another cat? He sighed, shaking his head. "This better be interesting."

After arriving back to their territory in silence the scarred warrior slunked off back to camp in order to get some shut eye. Though, for obvious reasons he couldn't after all that has happened and curosity kept prickling him having that same sense of worry with a worrisome face. Half of the time his worries do come into the light but he really hoped what he's thinking now is all false. Not even a minute later the tom walked out, ears perked forward of Lionstar's meeting call. Most likely it will be about what just happened. Riverpaw joined the meeting. There were already multiple cats gathered around. Surprisingly it seemed more apprentices were attending then she had been noticing. Maybe because she was actually regularly attending them now. With a nervous gaze around the clearing the silver tabby sat down. Staying quiet as she listened for the news. I wonder if Pigeonpaw will be made a warrior... The little tabby mused thinkin back to when Lionstar had told the younger tabby she was close to being a warrior. Even though Riverpaw could tell she didn't want to be one yet.

Dirtfur shivered from the thought of the last meeting; an apprentice was exiled and the brown tabby's apprentice was slacking off from the training and now is in probation along with Riverpaw.
He padded across the clearing to the Streamstone. This time, he was in the front instead of the back. Chin up and stared blankly at the RiverClan leader as if Lionstar was a gift from StarClan, that golden brown tabby wished he was! Ears perked up and tail wrapped around the Dirtfur's paws.

Fennelnose [x] (https://astriloquus.weebly.com/fennel.html) looked up from their place outside of the warriors' den, watching the cats mill out of every place imaginable to attend another one of Lionstar's meetings. Lionstar seemed to call Clan meetings all the time. Not like they could complain, though—at least it helped them stave off their boredom and learn the names of others cats. Everything was still so new, even though it had been moons since they had woken up in the middle of a forest.

They supposed it wouldn't matter if they moved closer, so they stayed where they were and rubbed a paw over their face. His voice was loud enough—no need to move.

What an innocent little thing the apprentice was! Drizzlemist might be a bit more of a bitter, jaded cat, but she appreciated the naivete of the younger cats. She didn't believe that she could keep the 'paw from learning the harshness of the world, but she hoped that this apprentice could hold onto that kitlike innocence for a little longer. No need to harden the young ones before absolutely necessary.

"I'm Drizzlemist," she purred in response, blue eyes softening as she looked at the apprentice. "And don't worry - if there's to be a war, we'll win. We're the best fed, best trained, and most passionate clan, after all. Ashfrost will keep you safe, and if he can't, then I'll look out for you, little one. I'm sure you'll learn plenty of battle moves before then."

She doubted it was another apprentice, if she was honest. Spotting Brambleblaze, she smiled back at the other she-cat, her eyes lidding. Poor thing looked so tired. Lionstar had a lot of nerve, sending cats to the tunnels and then wanting to be all pompous at them from his streamstone. Brambleblaze seemed exhausted in more ways than one, but also aloof, distant. Had Wormpaw voiced his thoughts louder, Lionstar probably would have agreed-- this wasn't good.

Lionstar's expression was a rare state of solemn, fierce eyes scanning the growing crowd of cats. Frostfall had failed to arrive-- he'd been missing for some time, but at least Eagleflight and Fawnsqueak had both arrived. Gaystep and Buckfrost had also collected into the crowd, taking spots not far from Firebird.

At least the turnout seemed better than some of the other meetings.

"RiverClan," his voice rang out for a moment, collecting his thoughts on how he'd proceed. "ShadowClan has once again made a move on our border. While on patrol, Greenfur and I found Crowtail-- their deputy and Shadyface, oce of their warriors on our territory. They were attempting to not only steal prey, but take the land we've rightfully claimed as ours. We drove the two invaders back but, upon bringing it to Icestar's attention she made it very clear she had no intention of keeping her cats off our land. They have no desire to back down peacefully. They will keep attempting to take our land until they succeed-- or are incapable of doing so.

"I take no pleasure in this, RiverClan, but.. I am formally declaring a raid on their camp. We will be quick, but we will be brutal, and we will make ShadowClan know we are not to be trifled with!

"All cats who have had at least one battle training session are expected to attend minus those who will be guarding camp, though apprentices should do their best to stay near a warrior or more experienced cat in case they need assistance in a fight.

"Prepare yourselves. In two days' time, we will be on the path to putting them in their place once and for all."

He'd give them a moment to take this in before he dismissed the crowd.

But he barely even had a full training session . ....His head lowered and ears flattened foxdung! Maybe next time.... kicking a pebble to the side . The grey apprentice slowly headed back to the den.

Those ShadowClans! good for nothings, that's what I'm told! The brown tabby snarled as the golden leader kept on mewing. A raid? A raid would be perfect to show Dirtfur that his survival skills aren't nothing! If he time, he will tall to Lionstar about the dirt-tabby's dirty plans.

Her ears flattened at the news. The ShadowClan deputy had trespassed? Surely he had to be smarter than that if the leader had appointed him! Stoatdance's tail unfurled from around her paws, lashing back and fortg across the ground. A raid on ShadowClan. I've never been to a battle before... but this can be my chance to make my Clan proud. Her claws flexed, sinking into the ground as her gaze passed through the camp. They were strong. They would take down ShadowClan and come out victorious!
She rose to her paws, an excited glint in her eye. "Let's do this! We will be victorious!" she called, raising her voice as loudly as she could. Her heart pounded with excitement, blood rushing through her ears. This will be thrilling!

wormpaw only sunk lower to the ground at the announcement. he didn't seem too surprised at this. he had figured the dam was going to crack any day now. "they did this to themselves, " the apprenticed stated sternly-- sitting up properly after he was done.. processing. wormpaw blink, furrowing his eyebrows. one battle training session. he eyed dirtfur, perhaps he could sneak one in--? he unsheathed his claws, digging them into the dirt.
wormpaw sighed, if he did join the battle-- he would become a burden. specially since his eyes were sick.. he sheathe his claws, there would be another battle of course in his lifetime. the only thing was that he wasn't going to sleep for two days. wormpaw shuffled his paws, staring down at the ground. "why must shadowclan be filled with minnow-brains!" he hissed to himself, they just haadddd to go and get wild now! of course riverclan had to put them back in their place like always.

Blazepaw had arrived slightly late to the meeting, his ears instantly falling against his head upon hearing the leader’s announcement. A mess with Shadowclan again, it sounded like. The ginger tomcat sat down and curled his tail around his paws, olive eyes downcast. He knew he wouldn’t be able to to participate in this raid, but he didn’t want to in the first place. He was still bent out of shape over the happenings with Spiderp- Spider, and he wouldn’t be much use even if he could fight properly. So far he’d done nothing to help himself, other than trying to get over his stuffy nose and slight dizziness that came about sometimes. So he remained in the far corner of the group of cats, ears flat on his head in shame and... self-doubt.
——

Splashcloud wasn’t one to be punctual and on time, but she’s quickly caught up on the announcement made, and was now watching with wide pale green eyes as the clan voiced their thoughts on Lionstar’s announcement. Excitement shot through her, but it was wary and unsure. She didn’t like battle, and would avoid fighting with tooth and claw when she could. Words were more her forte, and she enjoyed battling with those. But she assumed it would be best for her to participate, maybe even help some younger apprentices and keep them safe. That would be her top priority.

Greenfur jumped a little after hearing his name from the leader's maw. It was expected but still, he didn't feel so keen being put out there like that. A battle. Exhaling, a slow condensed steam rolled out of his nose and breath against the winter's air. Looking at a few excited faces, it was hard to understand why they're so eager to fight. Don't they understand our lives are on the line? It was a tiring, head battling daily thing to do in the streets trying to protect a crappy turf. Deep fire red sprayed against the mucky, cold concrete, teeth chattered and clenched from deep wounds under the black blanket sky. There was always a septic scent of death afterwards that he and his group had to clear out before flies surround for a feast. Truly exhausting. "I-," he started then closed his jaws, rethinking his words. His old self would just walk away from a situation like this though something sparked in himself. He didn't want this clan suffer any casualties. Coastpaw, Sunblaze, even that weirdo Palekit popped up in his head. It'll be a hard thing to swallow if something happens to them. His emotions battle each other in silence, green eyes looking down momentarily before rising up again. "I'll join.. not like I have a choice," he grumbled to himself.

Mapleflame was laying near the side of the clearing, chowing down on fresh-kill as he listened to Lionstar speak. Ah, the numb-skulls made a mistake yet again- Icestar certainly needs to learn how to control those petty little shadow-walkers of hers. He offered a bored yawn, rolling his eyes at the thought of the deputy crossing into their territory. He was ready to stop listening when the golden leader spoke of a raid. The tom's ears perked, eyes narrowing. They don't stand a chance.
Finishing the rest of his meal, Mapleflame stood and stretched, interest clear on his expression. Limping closer to the crowd, he sat down, his scarred leg splayed out beside him. "I shall fight. The shadow-walkers will fall beneath our paws," he said, staring up at the leader, "We should take prisoners, bribing them with their own cats." Mapleflame's eyes glittered with anticipation, claws already aching to fly into battle.

Fawnsqueak's formerly clenched jaw had dropped open in surprise, in audacity--how could ShadowClan be blatantly disrespectful of boundaries and then dismissive of the confrontation? It was beyond reckless of Icestar to let her own deputy be charging over into the wrong territory, yet a war? Tensions had built for moons and had started even before he'd been born, but anxiety balled in his stomach at the notion of actually attacking them. And he'd be responsible for participating. It was... in defense. An offensive move in defense, sort of, or at least that's how he struggled to justify it.

Iceflower had joined the meeting next to Firehawk, squinting at her son and nodding every so often, nearly piping in with a 'get to the point!' somewhere along his long-winded speech. She thought she'd taught him better, he didn't need to use so many words to say little: War on Shadow. Advanced dumdums fight. Done. "If it going to be quick, you better keep mouth shut during battle," she called to Lionstar. Another speech would keep them there until dawn. She flicked an ear at the tom nearby, and she replied, "What that about no choice? You want to be sent back to kit pen? Or you defend Clan like big boy? Plenty of choice!"

Quailsnap padded over to take a seat in the gathering of cats near his brother, giving the tomcat a scoffing look at his suggestion. Shadowclanners? In Riverclan's camp? To maintain prisoners you needed to feed them, and the last thing Riverclan needed was more lazy mouths laying around the camp. He loved his brother, but Mapleflame could come up with the dumbest ideas sometimes. Quailsnap himself remained quiet as another she-cat spoke behind them, who he twisted to identify as Iceflower. He listened to her talk and let out a small huff of laughter, which he tried to cover up by licking his chest fur. Then he returned his gaze to Lionstar, ears upright to catch anything else that would be said about the Shadowclan raid. Which Quailsnap was all for participating in. He wanted to call out "I'll defend the clan like a big boy!" but kept this to himself, allowing himself to silently laugh as he provided a more mature answer. "I'm all for defending Riverclan."

Greenfur darted an annoyed, judging glare at the red warrior. "Tsk. Edge lord. How about we don't do that?" he mumbled again. Meeting Icestar, her overwhelming rancorous demeanor and lack of care for Crowtail sent a shiver down his spine. Taking prisoners? That's like poking a big ass rabid porcupine with a stick. A huge 'no thank you'! The Shadowclan leader seemed like the type to never give up and will keep trying again and again. Tipping his head, passing over the many moving cats his eyes rested on Mapleflame who spoke. He snorted. Blood-thirst for battle. Met too many of them back at home. They disgust him. The white tom eyes widened, looking over at Iceflower. "Ah, I-, well," he stuttered, not knowing she heard his mumbles. Heat rised to his ears in embarrassment for a minute, the tom didn't know what to say for a quick snap-back because it's true..even though she's rude about it. "I didn't know you heard me, was just talking to myself. Of course I will defend Riverclan. ..Will you be joining?"

Eagleflight froze. Another raid on ShadowClan's camp? Sure, they'd recovered just fine from the last thing he and Lionstar had done to them--but nobody knew about that. Nobody but himself, the leader, and a select few others. He wasn't sure if he was ready to do this again--to decimate another clan's ability to survive. He was so sure that RiverClan would crush them, and he should be excited about that. But he just couldn't. He wouldn't let anyone else see that side of him, though.
He simply gave his leader a knowing nod of approval. He would stand behind him no matter what.

"A raid??" Pigeonpaw was on her feet in moments. Her first battle! Lionstar would have to let her go, right? He'd said she was so close to being a warrior. She was anxious, but greatly anticipated this.

Sagehawk practically leapt to his paws, fur along his spine rippling in excitement. He knew from the rustling around him that other cats were doing the same. His gaze whipped around the clearing, watching how other cats reacted to this sudden news. If Lionstar says we have to teach ShadowClan a lesson, then I will gladly help him. Tail lashing, eyes glinting, he called out, "If it's for the sake of RiverClan, I would do anything!"

He winced at his sudden outburst, even though his voice got drowned out amidst the other members of his Clan. It didn't fit the cool, mature, strong warrior persona he so desperately wished to be.

Bah, whatever, he decided, tossing away those worries as soon as they came. Who cared how he acted right now?

-

Fennelnose blinked. They were going to raid ShadowClan's camp? Well, the news didn't come as that much of a shock, especially after learning that the deputy of ShadowClan stole prey from their Clan. They didn't feel much excitement from that announcement. Or... much of any reaction, really. Shifting to a more comfortable position and tucking their tail beneath their paws, the older warrior dipped their head low. Even if they couldn't think of any words to say, they still wished to show some compliance to the announcement.

They supposed it would take a while before they would begin to feel that fierce loyalty to RiverClan that many others felt. Still, they would join in the raid if it meant asserting RiverClan's dominance and strength over the others.

Petuniapaw brightened up more as Drizzlingmist purred her name. The little molly's features relaxing a bit. She didn't even notice she was tensed. To busy being bouncy. "That's a really pretty name, Drizzlingmist." The little molly meowed. Honestly it was fun learning all the names. She new, Sunblaze, Ashfrost, Grouseheart, Sugarapple, Lionstar of course, Fallenstream, Duststorm, Pigeonpaw, Beetlepaw and Eveningpaw. Wow a lot of names to remember. But she would remember them! They all had made an impression on her.
"I'm Petuniapaw." She meowed saying paw with a pause. Drizzelingmist might have known her name already Petunia didn't know but she felt like she had to say it. That's what her mama told her was proper.
With the encouragement that they would win for sure her tail wiggled behind her. She didn't know much about the other Clans but if Drizzlingmist said this it had to be true right? "Thank you miss Drizzlingmist!" She chirped dipping her head slightly before Lionstar's voice caught her attention again. Wow he seemed mad. Maybe that was just her though.
"Wow.. we really are going to fight." She meowed to the warrior with wide eyes fixed on Lionstar. Two days... that wasn't much time. "If it's a raid that means I don't have to go right? Mister Lionstar said apprentices had to have some training and Ashfrost hasn't given me any yet." Petuniapaw meowed Looking over at Drizzlingmist once more. This was exciting and frightful. ShadowClan sounds scary...
~*~

Riverpaw's eyes widened. ShadowClan really wasn't to smart these days were they? Or from what Lionstar said. Wait... all who've had at least one battle training session have to attend the raid? That means I have to. The little tabby started twitching her tail nervously. This was worse then bad. Her attending a raid on ShadowClan camp? That had to end badly. Maybe Eagleflight would explain she couldn't do that? No... He had to much faith in her. Why did this have to happen now? After she already promised to be more productive in RiverClan and do things to not be a burden. She had two days.... only two days till this raid.
~*~

This was preposterous. Did no cat listen to proper logic anymore? Did they ever was probably the better question. A raid might be to far. Even if they were able to defeat ShadowClan Lionstar was thinking rashly. Yet Birchsnow didn't mind a raid. It would be good experience for Pigeonpaw. If she got enough training by then. Two days would be enough.
Lionstar at least gave the Clan a proper warning to prepare. She could not see many cats objecting to this idea. That she could tell at least. RiverClan will defeat ShadowClan with ease. Birchsnow thought nodding to herself.

Pleased to see most-- if not all, of the Clan seemed to be on board, Lionstar's gaze fell on his mother, muzzle twisting with displeasure. "I'll be sure to talk your ear off before we leave. And Greenfur [ vermin]-- I sure hope not, she's a queen and she'd lock all of ShadowClan up in a kitten pen."

Attention turning to Thornfur [ caswshay617], he was amused. "I planned on just having one large patrol storm their camp. It will be sudden and they won't have time to prepare. Eagleflight and I will be heading this patrol.. unless Frostfall decides to show his face." He wouldn't dwell on it too much-- it was just another reason to yell at Frostfall.

Speaking of.. there was one last thing he needed to do. "Before I conclude this meeting, there are a few things I need to address with our Clan-mates. Springtail [ sunflowerseed], Snowpaw [ Snowblaze], and Snakesong [ Browniefire], you three have failed the patrols you were assigned to. Springtail, Snowpaw-- you abandoned Greenfur to patrol Lionsgrove alone and had I not chose to accompany him upon seeing your inaction, he would have been left alone to face the ShadowClan invaders. Snakesong, you endangered both Stoatdance and Hickoryblaze by leaving them to patrol WindClan's border despite the increased danger of foxes in the area. This behavior is inexcusable, and if I find you've repeated it there will be more consequence than just this.

"Fennelheart [ Heartstruck]," his gaze searched the crowd for the white she-cat, but upon not seeing her he simply got louder. "When I assigned you Shimmeringpaw, I expected you to actually train her. Not sit on your ass. You have done very little for this Clan since SkyClan merged with us and if you continue your slothful behavior, I will see to it you join Spider in her exile. I am not going to condone laziness and I expect everyone in this Clan to pull their own weight. If you don't want to work, the camp entrance is right there. "Stoatdance [ hxneysuckle], you have repeatedly proven yourself to be an asset to this Clan and in return, I am reassigning Shimmeringpaw [ Shimmeringmask] to you. I know you are already training Silverpaw, but I trust you can handle a second student.

Surprised, Stoatdance blinked up at Lionstar, not expecting to be given a second apprentice. She briefly stood, silent and unmoving before snapping from her daze and dipping her head. "I will do my best, Lionstar. I am honored to be entrusted with two young minds," she stated, then stretched up to glance around the clearing, searching for her newest apprentice. Her whiskers twitched at the thought of training two cats at once.
This will be better for Silverpaw, having a partner to train with, she thought, And so far, I enjoy being a mentor. Stoatdance spotted who she could only guess to be Shimmeringpaw, letting a kind smile curl upon her lips as the apprentice walked over, the thought of the raid forgotten. "Hello, Shimmeringpaw," the scarred molly greeted, "it seems I'm your new mentor." Her tail swayed back and forth as they touched noses. She then looked down at the apprentice and tilted her head to the side. "Have you received any training from your former mentor, or will we need to start at the basics? I would normally ask which you would prefer doing, but I suppose we must do battle training to appease Lionstar's wishes.
"We will leave as soon as he is finished; the first training session will be solo, but next time I will pair you and my other apprentice, Silverpaw, together and test your skills. Does that sound good?" Stoatdances head tilted to the side and she looked at Shimmeringpaw expectantly, waiting for a response to her many questions.

Silverpaw had whole-heartedly agreed with the raid on Shadowclan, it would show them not to mess with Riverclan! And if it was an excuse to show of her newly learnt battle-moves at the same time... Then so be it. Silverpaw let her claws sink into the ground in her thrill- it was a habit she'd been trying to get rid off, but she was too eager to stop herself at the moment!

Then, her whiskers twitched as she heard Lionstar call Stoatdance's name. Her mentor. Having two apprentices at the same time? Silverpaw took a deep breath to stop the wave of irritation threatening to distract her. She shouldn't focus on that now, when such an important battle was coming up and all. On the contrary, she should use this opportunity to get to know the other apprentice, and train more. Having two apprentices wasn't completely unheard for, and Stoatdance if anyone would be able to do the job, right?

Her eyes traveled the camp until she found Stoatdance and Shimmeringpaw. They were probably go training, like Silverpaw herself had done not too long ago. She wanted to approach them and join them, maybe just to watch if nothing else, but she didn't want Shimmeringpaw to feel like Silverpaw was trying to snag Stoatdance all for herself.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind. I can just follow them, and watch from a distance. Then I'll learn without bothering them. Silverpaw doubted she'd be able to sneak after a warrior for any longer period of time, but her mentor would already have her paws full, so Silverpaw could have a chance.

Dirtfur was looking at the reddish sky of dawn. He gulped down a stone of anxiety. He had never announced anything on the Streamstone where RiverClan leaders called for a meeting. If the warrior waited any longer, his idea will vade away until used next time. But when is next time? he questioned to himself. He made it this far, having his clan's leader liking the strategy. Is he going to change his mind, making his idea be nothing? NO!
The brown tabby leapt onto the stones of the stream. Now on top of a boulder, he yowled out a meeting, "All those old enough to swim may gather here beneath the Streamstone!" he did... he called the words of starting a meeting. He felt like a leader of this clan. Dirtstar, Dirtstar! he echoed his leader-name now hearing as if the cats around him are yowling Dirtstar!
Shaking his head to get out of Silverpelt, he turned back to gaze around his clanmates gathering around him, beneath Steamstone.

Stoatdance blinked in confusion, moving to sit beneath the Streamstone. Why was the dirt-covered cat- Dirtfur, she remembered- calling a Clan meeting? Had Lionstar approved this? Where was the golden leader, anyway? Her eye narrowed as she looked up at Dirtfur. She sat calmly, tail curled over her paws, and perked her ears. Whatever the warrior had to say, she would listen to it.

Ratpaw slid from the apprentice's den with a grimace, having heard a voice other than Goldie's calling for a meeting. He rolled his eyes, spotting the weirdo dirt-cat atop the Streamstone. Walking toward it, he snorted, green eyes focused on Dirtfur. "Did you eat Goldie or something? Why're you making an announcement and not him?" he questioned, smirking at his own joke.

Mapleflame looked up as Dirtfur jumped onto the Streamstone, resting in his usual place in the clearing. He flicked an ear in faint acknowledgment. "Yes, an interesting indeed." he raised his chin up and continued on, "We will use dirt, not as crowfood, but as a way to victory! We use them to hide our RiverClan scents so ShadowClan won't detect us." he licked his fur to hide embarrassment as he talked about dirt. He turned his amber eyes on Lionstar then back at his clanmates again. "Not only it helps our scents, but it can be used as weapons: we will flung them at their eyes to block their vision then we attacked them since their vision were blocked by the earth!"

Fennelnose ducked their way through the entrance of the warriors' den when they heard the announcement. It sounded different from usual, like a cat other than Lionstar was speaking, so their interest was piqued. Was that... Dustfur? Duskfur? No, no. With one look at the cat, Fennelnose knew that it was Dirtfur.

They padded to the center of the clearing and took a seat, staring up at Dirtfur. Fennelnose snorted at his announcement. "Dirt?" they muttered—though when Lionstar appeared, they didn't say anything else. If it was a strategy that they could use against ShadowClan, then Fennelnose didn't have any complaints.

She blinked. Then blinked again. And again.
What?
Stoatdance stood, confusion on her features as she stared at Dirtfur, his strategy making no sense. "It's leaf-bare, we'll freeze! RiverClan will have enough injuries from the raid, we don't need dirt causing infections in our wounds, and greencough from the snow!" She shook her head, seriousness on her face. "It is a worthy strategy, but one that should be saved for warmer times. It is far too risky with this weather," the she-cat explained, her tail lashing behind her. Her claws sunk into the ground below, a clear concern on her face as she thought over the plan once more. It just couldn't work!

Sparkheart agreed with Stoatdance. He wasn't going to keep silent. "I agree. We need as much cats to be healthy in case Shadiwclan tries to attack us later on. We must think of our own.", he meowed. He understood that it was a good strategy, but not at this time of the year. Sick cats don't feed the clan.

Eagleflight had nearly jumped out of his fur when Lionstar and his patrol charged back into the camp. He was on his feet in an instant, following his leader closely to the base of the streamstone, listening carefully. He wanted to hear every detail. He had seen all of these horribly injured cats...but the ones who hadn't been injured as much, he'd seen the light of pride and battle in their eyes, and it told him that they had won. He almost envied them.

Lionstar would have probably been in a horrid mood if the results had not been in his favor.
Even so, Alderpaw couldn't help but feel an uncomfortable twinge in his belly. He did his best to hide his worrisome expression, but something definitely felt off. Battles are supposed to be honorable. But a raid on a camp... StarClan, I hope ShadowClan is doing all right.

Not that he saw much of it, personally... just some lug of a tom and a smaller one. He cast a sideways glance at Thistlestep and felt a lump rising in his throat at the sight of the cat he'd been fighting when the battle concluded, all the blood...

His stomach flipped. He hoped she'd gotten back up after the skirmish, and ignored the logic that said her wounds were too deep. Unwilling to engage in that confrontation, Fawnsqueak simply mumbled some words of parting before breaking off to join the rest of the Clan under the Streamstone.

Riverpaw had just gotten back when Lionstar announced that he wanted any able bodied cat to gather around the Streamstones. That meant her. The silver tabby wasn't in that bad of shape. Her pelt had drying blood holding her fur to her skin. It was sticky and unconvertable. It wasn't that bad though, it was just he first injury like that she'd ever had.
Eyes on the ground Riverpaw sat down. That cat died because of me... The same sentence ran though her head. Even if Thistlestep did the finishing blow it made chills run up her spine. She was a murderer!

Petuniapw bounded over to the streamstone amber eyes watching closely. RiverClan won right? There were still a lot of cats who didn't look that injured. Maybe the fight was mostly one sided. It felt weird leaving Sunblaze side..- wait, what. The heck am I thinking about? Who told the foolish tom to protect him? He was fine on his own battling that meathead Beastspark, he didn't have to interfere, if anything, it only made him look weak in front of the Shadowclan warrior. Though..he hopes he'll get all the healing that's needed and more. Shiverpetal may be an odd cat but they get the job done, right? The white tom sighed plopping down with the other cats, wincing a bit from his scratches. A long, painful groan emerged from the depth of his throat out from a pounding headache that dark tabby gave him. The few wacks on the head was enough to make him feel dizzy. Yet, fortunately, he's use to this so it didn't bother him that much and the wounds on him will heal on its own. Perhaps, a fever from an infected cut but nothing major. Greenfur sat up tall, green eyes scanning the area in silence with a small prayer that Lionstar won't call out for another raid or something to provoke the other clans. Good!

It seemed most semi-healthy cats had gathered at his call, some before he even could climb the rock. Climbing was a pain today.. ah, he was glad he killed that stupid Icefat. Between the bruises and punctures on his chest, the stinging bite from where she had decided to attack his legs.. and the cuts along his shoulder.. it was enough to make him wish he had killed her twice.

"RiverClan," he boomed. "Tonight, we struck ShadowClan at the heart and I am proud to say we were successful! Their precious Icepudge has lost one of her lives and it will be several moons before they can even attempt to fully recover from this loss. As it stands, we have one casualty: Frostfall.. I know some of you might not remember who he is but he was one of our deputies, and a ShadowClan fiend cut him down after I called for RiverClan to pull back." He would let that sink in for a moment: after RiverClan was in the process of retreating, their deputy was murdered. A cowardly move.

"With his loss, I have decided to keep Eagleflight as the sole deputy. I had hoped Frostfall would be encouraged to increase his contributions to the Clan, but alas it seems he has once again disappointed me..

"In light of this, I have decided to no longer mark Lionsgrove as RiverClan's. Here me out: the border will not be neglected, but will be marked in it's former position before the river is crossed. I have a plan in mind for that piece of land that will come in fruition during the next Gathering.

"On another note.. ThunderClan has decided to confirm an alliance with ShadowClan. Flintstar arrived with a whole five cats to help them! Amazing, I know-- while I'm not too concerned with them causing another fight now, I want everyone to keep their eyes and ears open. Be alert. I can only imagine the fat frog will want to seek revenge in the future for this raid.

"Now! We have some warriors who seem gravely injured who have apprentices. I see you over there Stoatdance! And oh, Sunblaze, you poor thing! Shiverpetal, get that stunning young tom some cobwebs before we lose his handsomeness! You can't let the pretty ones die! He's the blazing light of this Clan, I swear. What a darling, whoever wounded that boy ought to be ashamed of themselves.

"Ah.. and I am aware we had one.. rogue apprentice out on the battlefield. If anyone sees Bugpaw [ Xeno], I want her on elder's duties for a couple days. I'm sure Grouseheart [ The Cannibal] will love her company. And Greenfur [ vermin]! I know you've suffered some injuries fighting those oversized trunks of fat, but once her punishment is over, you will be taking over her training. I don't know where that worthless mentor of hers went and I don't care. She needs discipline.

"As for the rest-- Silverpaw [ ponyapan], Shimmeringpaw [ Shimm], and Eveningpaw [ Heartstruck], I would like all of you to come forward. Stoatdance and Sunblaze are both badly wounded and I can't imagine them recovering anytime soon enough to resume your training.. so you will be receiving temporary mentors until they recover."

Riverpaw's head jerked up as Lionstar begun speaking. They won. Wait. She already knew that... Frostfall died. That was sad... So how many cats had died? Icestar lost a life, Frostfall died and that apprentice I.. killed... At least three cats died. Her troubled blue eyes went back to her paws. She should be excited for Eagleflight. He was the soul deputy. That was big! But it made her even more nervous. So the silver tabby ended up just staying silent, unsure what to do.

"That's awesome!" Petuniapaw exclaimed as Lionstar announced that they won. "I knew we would win, RiverClan is obviously the best Clan." She grinned looking up with her wide amber eyes. Her features dimmed a bit as he mentioned the death of one of the deputies. Honestly the ginger and white molly didn't know him at all so she wasn't personally effected. It was very disrespectful to be happy looking after the announcement of a dead Clanmate though. So, she tried to be respectful. At the mention of Lionsgrove she was puzzled why give a Clan you are obviously better then back their land? Mercy? From what she heard ShadowClan was the worst and ThunderClan was like a crazy kit. But she only knew what she heard from Clan meetings. Gathering? Does that mean its soon? She wondered excited for the opportunity to go to one.
She glanced at the hurt warriors when Lionstar mentioned them. They looked rough. Petuniapaw hoped they would be okay.

Expressionless. That's how Brichsnow watched the meeting unfold. RiverClan came out on top. That was the logical conclusion she made before even leaving to take Stoatdance here. Frostfalls loss had no effect on her. It was not like the Clan would miss him.
Ears twitching she observed the on goings of the meeting. She learned a lot by watching cats.

Violetpaw was pleased that they won but couldn't really find a reason to feel upset about anything else. She just wasn't interested. Heck she still had to find out if she wanted to be a warrior. It was so simple and she couldn't decide. Ah it was frustrating! She knew she didn't want to be a kittypet, that made her cringe. Maybe she could talk to someone? Like Thistlestep or anyone would care. Her whiskers twitched. She was just a childish moody apprentice who had nothing going for her. Too lazy to try at anything and to proud to admit that she just wants someone to accept her.
That was all just randomness that had anything to do wit this meeting though. Just her troubles. This meeting was just random stuff going on in the Clan anyway.

Aspenbrook and Chestnutstripe padded side-by-side in step with each other as they took their places among the gathering crowd. Both had chosen to stay in the camp and keep guard, and both had been equally as lost as to what had happened in the battle until Lionstar spoke.

The brown tabby curled her tail neatly around her and over her paws, puffing out her chest and giving it a couple quick licks. Though she was admittedly a little anxious about the news, there was no use panicking about it now. Death never an easy subject to deal with, regardless of the side it affected - at least to her. So hearing about it now sent a shiver down her spine. To think that one day a cat she knew, was close to, could disappear from her life just like that, she hated the thought. Despite this, she knew fairly well that this was such the life of the clans; that this was the life she chose even with the troubled look that danced in her yellowish-green eyes.

"Y'know having that look about you isn't good for you, nor will it get you anywhere." Aspenbrook cautioned quietly, her white-tipped tortie tail swishing silently behind her from left to right and back again, "It can really begin to make you doubt your life choices." She brought a forepaw to her muzzle and licked it a coupled times before settling it back down. One ear intently listened to the news, while the other played wary to her surroundings, though both eyes spent the majority of the time looking ahead, intrigued and waiting as to what the leader may have to say next.

Sharply inhaling, Chestnutstripe replied, "Understood, but you have to admit it can be a little shaking at times," as her gaze slowly lifted to look up at Lionstar's figure atop the rock. "Or at least the tension can be...unnerving."

"I have chosen to leave Frostfall's remains behind. RiverClan, let's be clear: Frostfall's greatest accomplishment was his death. He failed his duties as a deputy and Clan-mate and spent his time wallowing in his own self-pity while he drained our resources. With his death the only loss we sustained, there is no reason to burden our Clan with the process of digging a grave in frozen earth. Let ShadowClan deal with him as they wish.. Interrupted as he was prepared to continue the new mentor ceremony, Lionstar squinted his eyes at both Eagleflight and Eveningpaw.

I have no desire to have him remain a bother in death as well.

"Eveningpaw [ Heartstruck], whatever you have to say can wait!! I am trying to appoint you a new mentor. Sparkheart [ Blissie Bliss], you have fought valiantly in the raid and have shown that you have put your ShadowClan days behind you.. the way you brutalize that she-cat will give those frog-lips nightmares. You will be overseeing Eveningpaw's training until Sunblaze, that gorgeous boy, recovers from his injuries.

Ringpaw sat among the cats sitting around the Streamstone, and when her name was called, she felt her whiskers twitch, and she stood, stepping forwards a bit. She smiled up at her leader, waiting to see who he would assign.

Littlepaw stood nearby, looking up at his leader, taking so much effort to not look weak that he was finding himself struggling to breathe. He waited to see who his new mentor would happen to be.

Shimmeringpaw looked around until her eyes landed on her newest mentor, saying a quick thank you to the Riverclan leader the apprentice walked up to Goldencloud. Her legs felt very wobbly, she wasn't sure if they were shaking badly or not. Heart pounding she finally reached the male. "H-Hello." The silver apprentice managed to whisper. Eyes focused on the ground, anxiety took over. "Nice-e to meet y-you." Studdeirng with nerves racking up and down her body. Ever

Willowpaw looked up in surprise. Wait... that was her name! Deciding it was best to not be her usual grumbling self- especially with the golden leader threatening exile. Stepping forward, her yellow orbs looked up towards the streamstone, taking in a shaky breath. She couldn't help but wonder who would be her new mentor, and the molly took a quick sweep around the clearing at the warriors until returning her gaze to the leader.

The golden tabby couldn't find it in himself to smile. He nodded solemnly and padded over to the apprentice. Hopefully they would be able to get right to work despite everything that had happened. The clan would need to maintain strong youth and warriors now that retaliation would come. Knowing Icestar it could come sooner than they might expect. He dropped his fluffy head to bump noses with the apprentice. He wasn't very fond of having one, but it was part of the duty. Goldencloud was a good and faithful warrior and could train the apprentice well. He wouldn't let the young cat know this though and would go about the mentorship enthusiastically.

"Sorry about you previous mentor." He said softly instead, eyes distant from what he was saying.

As Herringpaw heard his name, his ears perked and he looked up at his leader a little nervously, he hadn't seen his mentor in a while and, in hopes she would've returned, he was never assigned a new one, the tom took a little while to decide if he was gonna step forward or run away, but finally stepped forward and looked up at Lionstar, who in the name of StarClan would his new mentor be?

Ratpaw looked up as his name was called. Was Goldie finally getting him a mentor that would train him? Honeynose was certainly quite useless... and seemed to have gone missing alltogether. Probably noticed how worthless she was and left, he thought with a snort, then stood up and walked to the front of the crowd, looking up at Goldie through narrowed eyes. You better give me a damn good mentor this time.

Goldencloud cringed away a little as the apprentice froze up. Then sighed. He was stronger than this, what he saw earlier today was a mistake. That didn't mean he needed to be indifferent to the apprentice completely. His golden eyes softened and he looked over to her.

"You can go back to your family if you want Shimmeringpaw." He said softly. He wasn't entirely confortable around youth, especially when she was as awkwardly quiet as he was with ice breaking. It would have been nice to get one a little more playful and nagging to encourage him to step up. Though Shimmering did ask for more attention in a more demanding and quiet way. he eyed her with concern, unsure of what to do to make her feel more at ease, standing there awkwardly.

Fawnsqueak's ear flicked. Already, the nip on his hind leg had stopped stinging, but the emotional scars of the battle were beginning to surface in observing the state of his clanmates. Victorious but haunted, it was lackluster and approximately where he thought any sane Clan would be after a raid. He didn't have the energy to comment on the retrieval of Frostfall's corpse but understood why it had to be that way--unpleasant yet the truth was evident: it was a dangerous mission to go back for a dead cat, and Frostfall wouldn't have wanted them to risk it. Well, not when he was... normal. The last few moons were questionable; however, he wouldn't wish for RiverClan to make sacrifices in something that wouldn't matter.

Swallowing, he tuned out the rest of the announcements in regards to the apprentices receiving new mentors. He wouldn't be among them, though that did jolt a rather stark reminder into the forefront of his thoughts. He'd have to check in with Cougarpaw to ensure she was alright... No casualties aside from Frostfall, but for all he knew, she could be injured. A gnawing sensation of anxiety chewed at him as he scanned the crowd for signs of her.

Blazepaw didn’t know how to feel. Frostfall had... died? His ears flattened against his head in horror at that turnout, and sadness towards his former mentor. But he supposed it was much like the situation with Spider, with how Lionstar was acting. And so he should just move on. Blazepaw would mourn on his own time for the tomcat, but for the time behind, he stepped forward, awaiting the next words of the leader.

Eagleflight shut his mouth and looked at the ground. Of course Lionstar wasn't interested in collecting Frostfall's body. He should have known. He'd have to make sure to check the ShadowClan border at another point to see if the other clan would be respectful enough to return his body.

Otterleg bowed her head, ears burning. “I’m sorry Lionstar” it was no one else’s fault but herself that she hadn’t been part of it. Snowpaw’s eyes widened, but his ears flattened with slight annoyance. He was beginning to dispise this clan. It began to dawn on him that all three mentors he had received seemed to never remained with him, and always found excuses to postpone training sessions. What’s wrong with having one functional eye? he growled under his breath.
The tom pushed himself to his paws and padded forward towards the front on the crowd of cats. Perhaps it wouldn’t turn out for the worst this time around. The news of Frostfalls death had a surprisingly soothing effect.

Perhaps if things had been different, like.. Frostfall had been an active member of the Clan Lionstar could be proud of, he would have made an effort to recover him from those ferns. But he wasn't.

The cat named Frostflight, the cat Lionstar knew as a warrior of RiverClan had died moons ago. The day he abandoned the Clan to play SkyClan. Lionstar had given the imposter a chance time and time again, but every time he fell flat. As far as he was concerned, he was a dark piece of RiverClan history that needed to be forgotten.

That didn't change the small, uncertain ache in his chest he didn't want to touch. He didn't miss that look Eagleflight had-- that look that seemed to scream disappointment? Lionstar didn't do anything wrong. He didn't kill Frostfall. Frostfall was too far gone, and.. burying him in Leaf-bare wasn't a viable option. Throwing his remains in their water wasn't an option. Leaving him behind was the best solution-- force their enemies to deal with the damage they'd done. This was the best thing for the Clan.

Wasn't it?

"Alright, slowpokes! We'll go in the order you stepped up, then. Owlpaw [ Flameleaf], Lightstreak [ FuzzyRatto] will be your new mentor. Lightstreak, I don't know you personally but I saw you on the battlefield fighting with the ferocity of ten cats. I hope you pass your courage onto this apprentice.

"Ringpaw [ |+Tired Rose Child+|], your mentor will be Birdsong [ Cecily Herondale]. Birdsong, where are you?? I hope you show up for this!! Ringpaw, weren't you that apprentice of Shinefang's that ditched him? I get you must be behind on your training due to that desertion, but you're getting rather old for an apprentice.. you're making Riverpaw look good." That wasn't a compliment to Riverpaw, either.

"Littlepaw [ |+Tired Rose Child+|], I am assigning Morningmeadow [ ~WolfDen~] to you. What a strange name, meadow.. I hope you're as bright and cheery as your name suggest, darling! I know you were another participant in the battle and I hope you can teach this one how to be active around the Clan!

"Willowpaw [ Silhouettes], Thornfur [ caswshay617] will be taking over your training. I haven't see you around very much either.. but I know Thornfur has been incredibly contributing and I hope he sets you straight.

"Herringpaw [ .:Raven:.]! Yikes, you're.. pretty old for an apprentice.. you might be taking the first place spot for 'oldest apprentice in RiverClan'! I'm assigning Dewfeather [ ~WolfDen~] to you. Dewfeather, I trust you will pass on your accountability to this apprentice, and hopefully get him back on track to being a warrior. His outlook isn't looking too good right now!

"Ah, Acorn-head! It's your turn now. I know you're bent out of shape because Nose-whatever abandoned you, and honestly I would too if I had an apprentice as ugly as you, but have no fear Ratpaw [ hxneysuckle]: Pebbleskip [ mochi] will be your mentor. Pebbleskip, I'm sincerely sorry for this. I know your eyes might bleed just by looking at him but hear me out: the sooner he's trained, the sooner he's not your problem!

"Blazepaw [ RedHead]! I'm so excited to see you're still around.. I knew you'd make the smart decision in not joining Skinpatch in her exile. I will be assigning you Mapleflame [ hxneysuckle], the big brute should be around enough to finish your training. You're.. what, about halfway done? Keep it up! There aren't many cats in this Clan that can make it to that point but if you put your mind to it, I know you can do it.

"Now.. Snowpaw [ Snowblaze], I know you were pals with those two cats that haven't been around recently. Did they run off to be lying star-crossed lovers that crossed Lionstar? Good Star Cats, I hope that boy realizes how toxic she was to him, ruining his ceremony like that.. such distastefulness. You'll be given Raccoontail [ Pepperkins] as a mentor. Raccoontail, I appreciate your willingness to step up in light of your former apprentice's disappearance. I wish there were more cats as eager to train apprentices as you are!"

Lionstar paused, giving the apprentices and their new members a chance to find each other before he continued-- if more apprentices came forward.

"Lion, speak up! Geriatric mean bad hearing, they might miss mentor name!" Iceflower frowned, disapproval evident. These were cats who had been apprentices for moons upon moons, most of them! "Get training in order or you graduate straight to elder den!" she called out instead of cheering their names for their new mentor assignments, unsure if that was something the Clan cats even did. "I didn't come to meeting to feel like spring chicken in comparison to apprentices." She might as well be called Icekit by them. So old they might be useful on those tunnel patrols since they probably lived in them at one point, she would pitch that idea to her son later.

He felt a hole in his heart, like he wanted another apprentice. Is Wormpaw not good enough for you? he challenged himself. how could he desire for another apprentice when he already has one? Herringpaw did seem kind of hurt by the leader's words of him being the oldest apprentice in the clan, it's not like that was his fault! He knew some stuff, just not enough and yet, he was pretty much being put down by his own leader, wow! "...I-It's not like I'm the one to blame if my mentor disappeared." The Tabby had strode out of the Warriors den, he was ticked, to say the least. He didn't fight anyone. He bolted right out there, bared his teeth and not a single Shadowclanner was available. They were all already fighting and there he was, just standing there in the dust. With an annoyed huffed growl he flexed his paws, gripping the dirt below him with his claws before letting go. There was no way that was all of them, perhaps most of them were in the territory? Or hiding. Either way he was mad.

As Lionstar was shouting, the Warrior shook his head and tried his best to get rid of the anger. Push it down, try to snuff it out. He listened as the golden feline gave the news, Frostfalls death, and the new Alligiance between Thunderclan and Shadowclan. Ears twitching as he thought about their previous partnership with Flintstar. Frankly, he didn't help much...or at all, really. Riverclan ran in to help, than when they needed help, Thunderclan just sat on their behinds and did nothing. "They're not much to worry about, frankly they're lazy. They weren't any help to us when we were in an Alliance with them." Gentlethunder pointed out blankly.
