Petuniapaw listened eagerly as names were listed and cats were assigned for different things. A lot of cats were eager to help out and that made the molly pretty excited. Maybe every cat would group together and really help each other out! That way they could come closer together as a Clan! Petuniapaw's amber eyes flickered back up to Snakepaw as he began listing off who was going to search for their missing high ranks and where.
At first the patched tabby didn't catch that she was on one of the patrols. Snakepaw saying Sassafrasfire instead of Sassyfire, must have been a mistake as her mentor was Mister Ms. Sasssyfire. Petuniapaw could see how the names could get mixed up, they were very similar.

Gathering up a smile she trotted over to Lotusheart and looked around for her mentor. "Hello!" She greeted the larger molly with a smile. The patrol leader seemed nervous, but that was okay. Petuniapaw was sure Mister Ms. Sassyfire would join them soon and than they would leave and go searching for Mister Sootstar, Ms. Stormcall, and Mister Sparrowskip. Everything was going to be alright in the end so there was no need to worry. Or, that was what Petuniapaw wanted to believe.

The tabby was simply standing there, cheeks puffed out. Doing his best to look as serious as possible, after all, this was a serious situation. Once his name was called for a patrol, the large feline whipped his head around. Looking for his patrol partner, he'd do his best!

A soft voice came from behind him, peering over his shoulder to see who it came from. Oh! There's his partner! A big smile bloomed on his maw and he let out a soft giggle. "Hello!" he hummed back. Blue hues flickered with curiosity as he saw how Leopardfire shuffled his paws. Was he nervous, perhaps? Floppy ears quivered as he opened his maw to coddle the warrior, however as the Spotted feline spoke up he shut it.

It wasn't his place to worry or coddle, instead he'd support! "Yep! Let's do our best!" he 'shouted' , voice still too soft to be considered an actual shout, however. Letting out a little 'oh' as he noticed the other warrior was already moseying along.

Berryscorch had heard Snakepaw’s initial patrol assignments, but she’d somehow managed to miss when Kestrelwing called for her. Glancing around to find the other members of the patrol, she realized both Kestrelwing and Fishspeckle were already making their way out of camp. Without another moment’s hesitation, the molly got to her paws and briskly followed after them, catching up just outside the camp entrance.

She unsheathed her glissenling claws and yowled," Riverclan, all those who dare not stand up in fear of punishment, if we join forces as one we can drive out Bucknight and Thornfrost and let the clan vote on our next leader!" She snarled in rage on the brink of attacking Bucknight

Cherrywillow heard Walnutpaw cursing and glanced at Bucknight," I'm so sorry my apprentice has an attitude, I assure you, by the end of the afternoon shell have learned to keep her tounge in her mouth and support you and the Darkforest fully." she gushed as she covered Walnutpaw's mouth with her tail.

Tigerpaw scowled at Walnutpaw," Starclan lover...," he muttered

Duskpaw ducked his head occwardly towards his littermates, he shut his jaw, keeping his voice quiet," Keep your opinions to yourselves."

Gingerfrost understood Snakepaw's worry - the twoleg place couldn't exactly be considered safe, and much less crossing the Thunderpath. Perhaps he simply felt less worried of going there himself as he'd been there before, alone, but with another warrior? The ginger tom nodded "hm" at the instructions, finding logic in not crossing the Thunderpath and only going towards it when he thought about it. That being said, in his own way, he appreciated both considering his idea.
With that, Gingerfrost turned and took a look around for Beansproud - a cat who's name he had heard before, though never spoken too (unsurprisingly). He parted ways from some of the others and went to waiting for the warrior to join him. Although perhaps, with everyone walking around and leaving.. "Beansproud," Gingerfrost eventually decided to somewhat 'call' them just in case, to make things easier. The sooner they left, the better.

His ears pricked. Oh! Lionst—orm had heard him! He stood up joyfully. Wait, this wasn’t hunting. This was! A search party! He nearly did a little dance out of happiness. If he was considered elite or old or smart enough to go looking for the missing ranks, even by the Twolegplace (whatever that was), he would go in a heartbeat! And, oh! That was his name again! The siamese trotted gleefully over to the other warrior.

"Hey! Howdy. IIII haven’t been to the Twolegplace before, so I'm sorry if I kinda slow you down a little bit. I... yeah. But I'm happy to be with you," He kind of introduced himself, completely forgetting to mention his name. Beansprout felt adrenaline whizzing through him. He was important! He was good enough to go out and search! And maybe, just maybe! They would find the cats!

"Cats of RiverClan, gather beneath the Streamstone for a Clan meeting!"

Lionstorm's voice was a yowl as he launched himself onto the stone, looking down at the clearing below.

Since the patrols had been issued and some events put into play, things had been kicking up around camp. More faces emerged he thought he'd never see again, and he felt optimistic for RiverClan's future.

"I have several important announcements to make once we're all here, including an update on how our search patrols went."

Obviously, the news from that wasn't great since Sootstar and Stormcall weren't here to call the meeting. But he'd go into it more once it seemed most of the Clan had gathered.

Lotusheart sat quietly. She had small tears in her eyes. Of course she wouldn't be able to lead a patrol. She sucks. She can't lead anything. Snakepaw was dumb to put her in charge.

Lizardpaw felt awful. She'd never before felt real sadness. Or lack of motivation. It felt unnatural and she did not like it.

Hearing the familiar call from the Streamstone, Kestrelwing popped his head up from where he'd been grabbing a quick bite to eat. It was the first thing he'd eaten in what seemed like moons, and thankfully Lionstorm had called it right as he was finishing it up.

He swiped his tongue over his lips before getting to his paws and taking a seat near the front. Normally he would be on the outside of the gathering crowd, but not this time. This time he knew he was going to be tasked with the duty of handling the coyotes, and if there was ever a good time to put his best paw forward with the Clan it was now. He would need all the help he could get to drive those mangy beasts back.

From where he sat, Kestrelwing watched Lionstorm with intent yellow eyes, wondering how he was planning on wording the information in regards to Sootflare.

Ugh. Another Clan meeting. And in the middle of her grooming session? That was just plain rude. Huffing a sigh, Havenpaw meandered over near the Streamstone appearing uninterested and bored already. She parted her jaws in a yawn just to make it even more noticeable, blue eyes scanning the clearing for her mentor. Where was that dork? She always enjoyed his commentary during the Clan meetings. Huh... Well, she'd find him later. For now, she looked up at Lionstorm, laying down to take in the Clan meeting instead of sitting in an upright position.

At the news of another meeting, Morningpaw stuck her head out of the apprentice'sden to get a look at the growing crowd before padding over and taking a seat. She was interested to hear the outcomes of the other patrols, and was happy to fjnally hear that some of her clanmates would be receiving their long-waited promotion.

Our clan doesn't need anymore bad news.", she meowed. There was pain in her voice. Sootstar was gone, so she had to try and make shue cats don't find out about her former name. Only Sootstar knew. Soon she wouldn't have to lie everyone would know.

She figured he would be telling everyone how every other patrol went, and she was interested to hear what they had found. She didn't think they had found Sootstar or Stormcall, that would have been announced immediately, but they might have some clue as to where they had gone and how to get them back. Hopefully.

Moonpaw nervously approached the growing circle of cats before settling in an empty spot and wrapping her tail tightly around her paws. She focused her gaze on Lionstorm, tail tip twitching with nervous excitement. Her first meeting!

Coastbreeze padded over at Lionstorm's call from the streamstone. Obviously, neither Sootstar nor Stormcall had been found yet, so what were they to do if they never were found? Would Lionstorm step up as leader once more? Or would some other cat be appointed? And, if so, by whom?

She padded up to the streamstone to listen to the news. It probably wasn't anything important unless it regarded the sitaution with the missing leader, deputy, and medicine cat. Or at least that's what was going through her mind at the moment.

Littlemist reluctantly walked to the streamstones. He was never one to enjoy clan meetings and most of the time was completely spaced out while the person who called it was speaking and didn't even catch any information. Yet he still sat down anyway.

(Note: This chronologically takes place after my current rp in the starcave of snake getting the name but due to time constraints they are occurring concurrently out of character. Just so you all are in the know!)


The first thing the medicine cat heard when he padded into the camp, finally back, was Lionstorm calling the clan together for a meeting. Good he hadn’t missed anything, maybe the over ruffled noise maker had even taken his advice and took a nap while the younger tom ventured to the starcave to get his name because he at least held off the meeting until when he was meant to come back. It didn’t matter though really, as tired as the young tom was from the long journey, ceremony, and sleeplessness he needed to stay awake and strong for this meeting before he could go and collapse in his nest.

So as he padded from the entrance to the camp to the streamstone quickly jumping up to join Lionstorm on top (it was easier the second time, that was strangely comforting) he gave the warrior a soft nod before he turned back to the gathering cats. He'd succeeded and Riverclans medicine cat and only high rank had his full name now and a new thread of strength curling its way around his spine and holding him high despite the pressure of his duties weighing on his shoulders.

The medicine cat decided against announcing it right off the bat though. After what Lionstorm was going to drop on their heads they’d probably need the good news. He did however let out a soft but firm,
“Take heart Heronflight, Mistkit; Riverclan is strong enough to withstand anything so don’t let this phase you. After all fear is for fishes and we hunt those for or favourite meals.”

Barkfuzz had sat down anxiously at Lionstorm's call, his lashing tail giving away his anticipation. All this work was tiring him out, but he knew it needed to be done no matter how desperately he wanted to just curl up in his nest and sleep away the rest of leafbare.

He glanced around the clearing, scanning for any familiar faces.

Reedkit tumbled out of the nursery. What was going on? Did something happen? Then, he thought of something that made him way too excited. Maybe Lionstorm would make him an apprentice finally?! Wait... Lionstorm wasn't leader, though. What was going on?

Silvercreek sat at the entrance of the elders' den, let out and interested grunt. It was strange seeing Lionstorm on the Streamstone once more, but not unwelcomed, especially now.

Toadpounce sat in the clearing, looking up at the former leader. He was acting leader, now? Well, he had been leader before, so he could do well in keeping the Clan together before choosing an actual leader. Nonetheless, he wondered what was going on.

Blizzardsky padded over, this was it, this was his moment, in a short while Lionstorm or Snakepaw would be announcing that they have chosen a leader and that the leader was going to be him. He was going to Blizzardstar, leader of Riverclan, he had thought long and hard about who he’d pick as his deputy and he’d come to only two choices, Goosefury and Berryscorch, they’d both make really great deputies for him, but first he had to be patient and await the announcement of him being leader.

Mistpaw nodded. If the medicine cat could promise everything was fine then obviously it was. But Snakepaws lack of prickliness slightly bothered her. She knew that he was very passionate about his job even though he didn't seem to enjoy the company of some of his clan mates. "Thank you Snakepaw", she said with a nod. She was glad that nothing was exactly wrong so she sat back down, licking her paw and dragging it over her ear instead of flexing bit into the ground as she had previously been doing.

Leopardfire slipped through the crowd, his mind not immediately registering that Lionstorm wasn't technically supposed to be up there. After all, the older warrior had stood up there for the majority of the spotted cat's life.
"Excuse me, pardon me, coming through..." he mumbled hesitantly as he winded the the packed group of cats, all eagerly lining up to hear news. He was eager too, though, so he pushed through a bit more aggressively than usual until he found a spot near the middle where he could comfortably look up at Lionstorm.

Bumblestep, still trying to manage the kits and apprentices with jaws full of questions and trinkets, looked up at the yowl of the acting leader. Usually, he would try to find a spot near the front but today he would stay with the younger cats. His tail wrapped neatly around his white paws as he sat, keeping them from moving restlessly.

An uneasy weight had made a home in his stomach, causing his pelt to itch with anxiousness. Not only were they leaderless, but he had seen the faces of those who had returned from the patrols. Something was wrong.

Silentkit was having a checkup just moments ago, learing how to read lips. He now was hurrying toward the Streamstone, huffing. He sat down, waiting for the meeting to begin. He was deaf, but he knew something interesting would happen soon, he was sure of that. But was it good news, or bad news? if the leader, medicine cat, and deputy have gone missing, could there be something even worse hiding just behind a corner, way out of reach but still very close? Silentkit kneaded the ground with his claws. He was very, very worried.

From where he sat towards the front, Kestrelwing had a direct line of sight to watch as the Clan's full medicine cat climbed up the Streamstone to sit beside Lionstorm. Something about the spitfire tom seemed different, like his trip to the Starcave had provided him with the confidence of a full fledged adult.

Aha, that was it. The little medic had to have received his full name.

Normally, Kestrelwing wouldn't give a rats ass about that, usually trying to distance himself as far as he could from anything in the medicine world. But he had taken a sort of liking to the fierce little dude ever since their eye-to-eye in the medicine den. Because of that, the tiniest hint of a smile appeared on his face, and as he attempted to catch the young tom's gaze, he gave a slight dip of his head in congratulations.

After having brought the prey back from her hunting patrol and resting a bit in the warriors den to lick her wounds, Junipersong was roused by Lionstorm calling everyone to a meeting. Limping out into the clearing, finding a comfortable spot to sit that wasn't too far from the warrior's den to spare her walking across the whole clearing, she looked up at Lionstorm with anticipation, hoping that the clan would finally get some good news so that spirits would start lifting.

Flamedrop arrived at the meeting late, wondering whether the leader and deputy had been found. judging by how Lionstorm was on the Streamstone, she guessed not.

Kestrelsplash jumped at the yowl of Lionstorm. Kestrelsplash looked around before darting to the meeting, giving himself a quick groom just in case anything on his pelt looked ruffled from the startling yowl. He heard that there was something important to be said and his hunger for fresh-kill was put off until after the meeting.

Bristletail felt excitement run through her as she heard Lionstrom's call for everycat. She licked her paws a few more times before she padded over to the meeting, trying to find a populated area to make some new friends after the meeting was over. Maybe start a conversation! She was so excited she felt her paws prodding the ground.

Whatever the point of this meeting was, you could be sure that Fishspeckle was ready to offer himself as a volunteer... for anything.

Sagewing shouldered her way through the crowd to the front row. Glancing around at the crowd, she struggled to breathe, and her head was reeling. Were there always these many cats here?

Hopeful or not, Lionstorm noted that it seemed not as many cats as he expected attended his call. It was concerning to him -- did half the Clan not give a damn about this?

Pushing that aside, he focused on what needed to be addressed first. "RiverClan, I unfortunately have to report the search parties we sent out returned with grim tidings. Stormcall's scent was found at Smallpines along with blood and the reek of coyotes. Though no remains were discovered, it's likely Stormcall was killed and eaten. Coyotes are predators, they would have torn her apart and made quick work of her body." He was going to be upfront with this. Under the circumstances, it seemed highly unlikely Stormcall survived.

"Kestrelwing also discovered Sootstar's whereabouts last night. While hunting upriver from Smallpines, he discovered a grisly scene. It appears Sootstar was followed by coyotes and attacked-- all that remained was one of his legs and tufts of his fur, which have been respectfully buried close to where he passed." He paused for a moment to let this soak in. It would have been distasteful to bring a leg back for mourning. Not that this was technically true, but conjuring a story about Sootflare being dead was easier than telling them he left like a coward. The Clan wouldn't know, didn't need to know. (Would never know, if he had a say in that.) "Additionally, Sparrowskip's scent wasn't found anywhere. Given the circumstances and his lack of presence for almost two moons, it is probable he met a similar fate as the others. We will be discontinuing searches for him, but if he has somehow survived and seeks to return, welcome him back with open paws as a warrior.

"In the meantime, Smallpines and the surrounding area is off-limits until those mongrels are cleared out. We'll be setting up a predator patrol later in this meeting to exterminate them."

Moving on.

"With Stormcall and Sootstar both gone, RiverClan is in need of new leadership. Temporarily, Snakepaw has appointed me in charge while we look for candidates for leader and deputy. I will be overseeing ceremonies, reassignments, and handling joinings as needed." As the leader before Sootstar, it was the most practical choice-- Lionstorm had the experience of taking control, but he didn't care for a long-term position. He just wanted RiverClan back on track to greatness. "In the coming moon, RiverClan will be undergoing several events to encourage Clan involvement and activity. We will be looking for cats who are engaged, dedicated, and determined to bring RiverClan to glory once more. Cats who stand out in the crowd will be considered candidates for the positions of leader and deputy. We are also going to be looking for warriors to run events and show off their ability to take charge, so if you're interested or have ideas, feel free to come into the leader's den once this meeting is over.

"In addition, I will be assigning more patrols later today: patrol leaders or warriors who do well in these will be given the opportunity to distribute and organize patrols themselves. Cats who handle this task well will be considered for leadership candidacy, provided they have been otherwise actively involved with the Clan." Whoosh, it'd been a while since he'd talked so much. Lionstorm kind of missed the days he could go off endlessly.

"Until the new ranks are decided, Snakepaw is our reigning high rank and has full authority over the Clan. His word is final." If that wasn't a given, it should be now. Lionstorm didn't want to deal with disrespectful flea-bags because Snakepaw was "only" a medicine cat. Snakepaw could do what he damn well pleased, and if that meant exiling an idiot, so be it.

"Before this meeting, Snakepaw paid a visit to the Starcave to receive his full medicine cat name. Snakepaw-;" Lionstorm nodded over to Snakepaw, opening the door for him to make his announcement and cover anything Lionstorm missed. It was a little odd-- knowing he wouldn't be Snakepaw, or wasn't Snakepaw anymore-- kids grew up so fast. Streampelt sat there, listening. He had no interest in becoming leader or deputy but he would be able to prove himself by doing everything he was asked to do, maybe even more.

Fiercepaw flicked her tail as Lionstorm talked. She would prove herself to him but discreetly. He already thought she had a big ego.

Heronflight looked on. She was not going to try to stand out. It just wasn't really for her. If she did anything its just to help keep her clan strong. Maybe so she might try and help this one cat she was fond of. He had talked about becoming leader. Part of her didn't see him as a fit, but if it was something he was after she would help him any way.

The black and white molly just sat there in silence. Her clan was the strongest one in the forest and no one would take that name from them. She had already gon eout hunting, but she might as well went right back out. She wanted some time alone anyway. She qanted time alone to help out her clan. Things always went slow when she had company.

He wasn't sure what story he'd been expecting Lionstorm to construct surrounding the fate of Sootflare, but that was certainly more gruesome than even Kestrelwing had been expecting. But it was necessary and vital to keeping the Clan calm, so while the acting leader detailed the gruesome find the gray tabby simply flicked his ear and continued to watch, unable to even feign grief. Though, for the sake of simply keeping up appearances he did lower his head and ears a bit.

As Lionstorm continued his monologue from the top of the Streamstone, Kestrelwing kept his ears alert for the reactions of his Clanmates. He was curious if any eyes would be turned to him, as he had been named the one who discovered Sootflare's fate. He certainly hoped not. For a majority of his life he'd been an outsider, dutiful to RiverClan but abstaining from close personal relationships. He didn't want cats to start coming up to him now because of this new knowledge.

However he did recall the conversation earlier with Lionstorm and Snakepaw, and the predator patrol. He'd be leading that, so of course he would have cats coming up to him. Great. Kestrelwing exuded a soft sigh, but nothing more, figuring that he could put his personal feelings aside for the sake of RiverClan. He had to.

While the RiverClan warrior didn't consider himself to be the most social cat, he was set on capturing the lead on more than one of these patrols. Sootflare's reign had done nothing but drag RiverClan into the mud, and while he wasn't jumping at the opportunity to take control of an entire Clan - would cats even listen to him? - he was tired of being a bystander to the decline of a home he loved so dearly.

That was something he could discuss with Lionstorm after this meeting, to make it clear he was done just standing by. He would take the fate of his home into his own paws if he had to, and teach his Clanmates about what Clan loyalty really was all about.

The shift in the meeting caused the dismissal of such thoughts, and Kestrelwing turned his attention to Snakepaw, curious as to what his full name would be. Perhaps 'bite' or 'fang', something to encapsulate his thorny personality.

Mothsky listened intently, shock in her gaze. She looked to Streampelt and waved her tail in a small hello.

Junipersong paused, a bit in awe. Stormcall was dead. Sootstar, dead. Even Sparrowskip.... It was a lot to take in. She wanted to mourn, to hide away in the warrior's den and lick her wounds and curl up and disappear. The clan needed more than that.

She wanted to step up and say something encouraging, but while she wouldnt let herself mourn, it was important to let her clanmates have their own alone time if need be, so for once, she kept quiet. Instead just trying to console anyone that looked downtrodden by brushing her tail over their shoulder as a means of comfort. Maybe later in the day she could say something to try and raise spirits, but as much as she cared about keeping morale high, she was wise enough to allow this moment of sorrow and unease. Trying to forcefully make people happy would only make things more bitter.

Her darker thoughts were already trying to turn her towards anger and thoughts of revenge, specifically towards the coyotes. Over the many moons, she had grown accustomed to automatically shunning these ideas as soon as they came up, but for once, she felt it might be appropriate to allow some of the inner anger to fuel her. Already having a few ideas on how she could help the clan, she began limping towards the leader's den to speak with Lionstorm.

Sootstar was brave and strong, he could probably fight off a hundred coyotes if he tried!! She closed her eyes picturing his remains scraps of flesh and leg. Nope. She couldn't imagine it, she felt a wave of nausea and ran out of the clearing to throw up.

Violetkit didn't know exactly what was going on but she heard cries of surprise. She knew who Sootstar was and she remembered him but not enough to remember his scent. When Lionstorm mentioned that he would be stepping in until a new leader was placed she boldly said "I think you should be leader!", she knew that she probably shouldn't be talking considering she was a kit but she didn't exactly back down. Her fur fluffed out at the prickliness of the clearing but she turned to see if her clanmates echoed her thoughts.

Bristletail sighed. So much was going on and she missed a lot! The death being announced made her flinch everytime Lionstorm told the stories of how they lost their lives. She knew it was something that happened, though. Cats died, prey died, predators dies, that's how it worked, but... She shook herself. She was a RiverClan warrior! She trained to be a warrior, and she was going to act like one! She focused her listening on Snakepaw.

Kestrelsplash looked at Lionstorm and Snakepaw back and forth, then settled his gaze on Snakepaw. He was interested to see what Snakepaws name was. He looked around at all the cats. Huh... he sworn there were more before. He shivered. After hearing about the few deaths Lionstorm told he was worried other deaths Lionstorm didn't find out were out there. He twitched his whiskers. What was happening to RiverClan?

Foxblaze awaited her son's name with a degree of pride. There was none more proud of her son than her.

At the imagery of the high ranks torn-apart bodies Morningpaw let out a shiver. She felt like her heart was dropping into her stomach.
She turned her eyes to the ground in an attempt to sort her thoughts a bit. All of them, dead... the weight of the idea bared down on her.
At the news of Snakepaw... well, Snake-whatever-it-was-now, her gaze was drawn back to the Streamstone. She couldn't let the oncoming good news for the clan be weighed down by the horrific news.

Fishspeckle’s eyes widened, this meant that Snakepaw was now the only High Rank in RiverClan!
Fishspeckle found himself feeling a bit bad for the tom, he had so much more responsibility now, and it had all fallen on him so soon... Fishspeckle prayed that StarClan would give Snakepaw strength.

Deerwing tensed at the gory description. She had never really been that close to the high ranks, but the idea of them just... just dieing like that chilled her to the bone. She glanced at the kit next to her. Maybe it was a bad idea to let the kit come to the meeting. But, Fawnkit looked fine. In fact, he was staring up at the streamstone with eyes full of hope. She was confused for a moment before she remembered the kits constant complaining about not being an apprentice. Her whiskers twitched as she looked back up at the streamstone.

Reedkit gasped. They were... dead? How? But they were the strongest in the Clan! Still, he kept silent and mourned for them.

Toadpounce frowned. So, Stormcall was found dead? A shame: She would have made a fine leader. Still, he respected both Snakepaw and Lionstorm's decision, and nodded silently.

Silvercreek sighed softly. Of course this would happen. With what happened with the other Clans, it would only be a matter of time before RiverClan was also struck by chaos.

Oak-kit sat outside the nursery. He could feel the tension in the air, and the uneasiness. His ears drooped. He wanted to know what was happening! He went over to Lionstorm. ¨What was the meeting about?"He asked in a pushy voice. ¨I did not hear¨

Stonefoot turned when he heard a kit yowling in the crowd. He nusseld her in the direction of the nersery. "You shouldnt be out here little one" he said

Violetkit huffed and ran into the nursery to comfort the other kits and inform the queenns. She muttered something along the lines of "not that little" before storming off.

Whitepaw was, somewhat glad that the high ranks were dead, or well, most of them were. It was, odd, she hadn't felt like this before but, it was a nice feeling she had when she had heard they wouldn't be in camp anymore, or even alive. Whatever, Snakepaw was in charge now, and he had things to say.

Splashleap had know her patrol at least had failed in its goal, but all of them, no sign anywhere........that was not good, not good at all. And the coyotes.........if they were really what had killed both their leader and deputy then they needed to die. Die, and get out of the forest forever and never come back. Unsheathing her claws she allowed them to dig into the dirt, and she almost wished they were sinking into flesh. Not cat flesh, but the murderous beasts flesh. Her eyes began to narrow and her fur puffed, before she shook her head vigorously. No, she did not want to be a murderous nutter. That wouldn't help anyone. But she did hope that she would get a chance to hurt a coyote, to avenge Sootstar and Stormcall. No one deserved to be eaten.

Twigpaw's fur puffed at the thought of coyotes, cat eating ones, in their territory. Bad, very, very bad. Looking at Snakepaw though, and then Foxblaze, he felt something else. Jealousy. His brother was up there, on the rock, his YOUNGER brother, for he had been adopted before Snakepaw was even born, and was about to get his name! And his word was final, whatever that meant! How was any of this fair? His brother was the nasty one, the one who yelled at clanmates, but HE was the one becoming the LEADER, at least temporarily!

From the top of the streamstone it was all too easy to see everyone's expressions as they reacted to the news. Perhaps in a time of joy, this was a boon, a source of strength for those that sat up here, but for now, it was a reminder of how the clan was doing. How they were struggling. It was a shame until the faces turned the medicine cat didn't even mind his time up here, narrowing his eyes at Kestrelwing as the warrior evidently figured out where he'd been. Not a surprise though the older tom knew more than most and already proved himself to be intelligent, he was the one who found Sootflare. He had been able to confront him and get to the bottom of his reasoning for leaving (as irrational and flawed as they were).

His 'grief' was false that was obvious to someone in the know but the others… The others were genuine, and that was disheartening. The fear, the anger, the grief, the clans worry over the predators. It couldn't be allowed to continue. The clans' spirits needed to be intact. So while Lionstorms words and promise of plans for the future rallied them, the lanky tom figured that proof they were moving forward and hope was necessary. He was young, yes, not even 10 moons. However, he would support the clan in whatever way they needed.

So with a nod to Lionstorm he rose to his paws and stepped forward more visible to the assembled cats.

"Thank you Lionstorm, yes just a few moments ago, I returned from the starcave and I was successful in gaining my full medicine cat name.
My full name is Snakeheart, a name I'm proud to stand before you bearing."

And he was. It may not have been the name he was expecting. Still, Coldamber had given it to him, and the meaning behind the title gave him the courage to be, ugh, sappy and emotional.

"This is a dark time for the clan made all the more horrible by the fact that not so long ago we were strong and those we lost were by our side…. But we cannot do them the disservice to remember those gone as the horror their death inspires. We must remember them as they were and endeavor to be like them in turn. Stormcall's level-headedness and sense of duty were unmatched, and I hope to be like her one day. Sparrowskip" his voice stuttered mixed sorrow from guilt and grief choking his throat, "was kind to every classmate and loved everyone in kind, and Sootstar was loyal and wise and served the clan with pride. He was the one to teach me duty through hardships, and I among you all must now live to uphold his ideals. Riverclan is the lesser for the loss, and we will morn those we do not get to bury. Yet they are hardly gone if we remember and strive to do good in their memory. Do not let yourself drown in your grief use it to to power your strokes because this will only be a temporary strong current and we all know how to swim."

The words tasted bitter. They were gone though left if not dead and in the end, Sootflare betrayed the very ideals he'd inspired. They had merit, though, always, and if Snakeheart had to stick to them by spite alone until they took new meaning he would, and hoped the clan would follow in kind.

"It is frightening for me to be the last one left, yes. I'm not all that enthused about it myself, but I promise you all I'm not going anywhere. Even if I have to camp confine myself until the threat passes to be here for the clan, as infuriating as that would no doubt be, I would gladly do it. The next leaders, who will be ready and suitable to lead us, will be chosen and will be strong once more. Already I can see us rising to this dark with fangs bared, so I know this is a fight we can win. We cannot let this sickness, stagnation grip our clan, not when we have the ability and skills to heal and move on. I urge you to persevere in your efforts. Riverclan will once more be the strongest and best clan in the forest, and if you have doubts, I ask you to put your faith in me. I swear on my life and loyalty I will not betray it."

After all, faith should be put in cats alive and willing to prove it right, not the faded dead in the stars. They weren't the ones that were here right now, weren't they.

Violetkit hearing this barged out from the nursery and Mistpaw had returned in time to hear Snakepaw-, no Snakeheart's announcement. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" they began to chant, even though everyone was down with the bad news, Snakeheart receiving his medicine cat name was amazing and even though he could be prickly nobody in the clan doubted that the name didn't suit him. His mouth may be as venomous and quick as a snake, but his heart was full with passion for his job and his clan. Nobody would make a better medicine cat and Violetkit and Mistpaw eagerly welcomed him to the new role.

Streampelt listened to Snakepaw- no, Snakeheart's words and nodded to no one in particular. Snakeheart was brave to take on a position so high for someone so young. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" Streampelt yowled, hearing others start to say the name.

Fiercepaw listed to Snakeheart with her ears pricked. Snakeheart was a good name, she liked it. "Snakeheart." She murmured, getting used to saying the name. She had never said Snakepaw before so she wouldn't have to worry about that. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" Fiercepaw yowled with the few others starting to say the name.

Stormrunner was surprized by such a speach from Snakeheart, but she cheered him on anyway. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!"

As he saw Snakeheart glance in his direction with a narrowed look, it only caused Kestrelwing's grin to widen. They were quite similar, and because of that it was easy to read how irritated the medicine cat must've been to discover that he'd figured out what he was going to announce before he actually did. The gray tabby kept his maw shut, but just lifted a paw to place over his own heart, a slight dip of his head directed at Snakeheart. "Well done, Snakebite." It wasn't a yowl of sorts, but loud enough to reach the ears of Snakeheart.

His speech was rather long, but something about it lit a flame within Kestrelwing. The sense of urgency, the need to propel RiverClan into greatness - the warrior was not alone in that ideal. He silently prayed to dead stars he did not believe in that the rest of RiverClan would feel the same way, and the rallying cry started by Snakeheart would be enough to bolster them to a place of rebirth and rebuilding RiverClan.

It was almost enough to cause tears to his eyes, as this was the first outward display of Clan loyalty that he had seen in quite some time, at least in this magnitude. Someone that cared about this home as much as he did. He placed his paw back down on the ground, claws sliding out of their covers subconsciously as Snakeheart continued on about rising from the ashes.

There was a bright future ahead of them, and Kestrelwing knew that this meeting marked the start of a new era for RiverClan. One where the entire forest would know their name and respect their borders. One where his Clanmates would rise up to meet every challenge with double the tenacity and ferociousness of any of their opponents.

He was ready for this new era.

Heronflight liked Snakepaws new name. It fit him just perfectly. She let out a purr and joined in with her clanmates chanting. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!", she called. The medicine cat was so wise she believed him. With him Riverclan would not fail. Heronflight began to try and think of some events. She wanted to come with one just so she could talk to Lionstsorm. She hadn't d a feeling he knew who she was and she felt it was time.

"Snakeheart! Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" Barkfuzz chanted when the medicine cat had finished speaking. He felt empowered by the tom's word, and his voice rang with a renewed power. He would do everything he could to help his Clan, and was excited at the prospect of making his Clan a better place. RiverClan was still the best, and admittedly he didn't really see anything wrong - their territory was peaceful (save for the new coyote discovery) and newleaf was on the horizon! How could anyone be upset when they were surrounded by beauty?

Barkfuzz licked a forepaw and drew it over his ear. RiverClan would get through this - he knew it.

Blizzardsky cleared his throat,” I’ll be clan leader, I’m obviously the best choice. So I assume you’ll be announcing my leadership next clan meeting?” he meowed giving a large smile to Lionstorm and Snakeheart, hopefully they’d call him in to ask him to take the rank.

Acornwhisker crept into the meeting a little late, but just in time to hear Lionstorm's announcement and Snakepaw's new name. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" She chimed in -- feeling a little whiplashed with all the dumped information. Her heart sank for the past high ranks, but couldn't help but feel relieved that all this anticipated searching has come to an end. They were more than lucky to have a medicine cat like Snakeheart.

With all that said, Acornwhisker was ready for this new generation...the past moon alone has been hectic enough. She wasn't sure who should be the new leader, but Stars, she certainly hoped it wouldn't be Blizzardsky.

Woah, wait... their brother was a full medicine cat already? Baypaw felt kind of bad that they hadn't somehow known about it before the rest of the clan. It felt strange how they were the older sibling, yet they spent their carefree days skipping around and picking up trinkets. Meanwhile, their younger brother was practically taking on the responsibility of running the clan all by himself. Maybe they needed to start getting a bit more serious about things. After all, they'd been an apprentice for moons at this point and weren't anywhere near close to warriorhood. Despite their uncertainties, they were still extremely proud of their brother, and once he finished his speech, they chanted his new name as loud as possible. "SNAKEHEART! SNAKEHEART! SNAKEHEART! WOOOOOOO!" They wanted to go up there and hug him, but was that allowed? They didn't really want to risk getting in trouble, so they gave an air hug and a big smile, hoping he might see it.

Berryscorch sat attentively through both Lionstorm and Snakeheart's speeches before cheering the medicine cat's new name with the rest of the clan. "Snakeheart! Snakeheart! Snakeheart!" The seemingly gruesome disappearances of the other high ranks were rather concerning, but at least it provided some closure for what happened to them. On the other paw, it seemed RiverClan was slowly beginning to build itself back up at last, and she eagerly awaited to see the clan thriving once more.

Oh... Petuniapaw's ears dropped at the news. They were all killed? All of them? That was sad... they had been good leaders and examples from what she knew. They were good cats. As she listened to the toms talk up on the rock Petuniapaw lowered her head. Giving them a moment of silence to pay her respects. Mister Sootstar... Ms. Stormcall... Mister Sparrowskip... all of them lived good lives, which was confirmed by Snakeheart's words. "May the spirits guild you all to a peaceful rest..." The ginger and off white molly whispered to herself. She hoped it would somehow reach them, wherever their spirits may be.
With a deep breath Petuniapaw would lift her head to look up again. This would pass, RiverClan would be strong and vigorous once again. They would get through this. They always did. That was just how things worked. In the though times you stand together and you push forward. You don't give up or run away. You move forward, which as what Mister Lionstorm and Snakeheart seemed to be leading them to.
She would look around at her Clanmates gathered around her and smile. They would get through this. Together.

The reactions from the Clan weren't too surprising: some had left upon learning their beloved high ranks (were they loved? Lionstorm questioned that) passed while others seemed unfazed by the news. He was amused by the kit who stated he should be leader. She seemed familiar-- reminded him of something long since passed. He couldn't put his paw on it and moved on.

"I've already stated I won't be resuming the leadership position. Being a leader requires a flame that's been long since burned out in me. We need a leader who can keep RiverClan's spark alive for many moons to come -- that may not be me, but we'll find the cat who can." He glanced at Snakepaw as he spoke. [ Fawnhearted]

Lionstorm was kind of irked when a kit approached the stone to ask for a repeat of his announcement. "Then perhaps you should come when the meeting is called, Oakkit! Your Clan-mates below can brief you on what I've said." Seriously. He was in the middle of making announcements, why the hell would he stop to catch a kit up? [ Sundae1127]

He paused to let Snakepaw speak. Snakeheart. "I couldn't imagine a more fitting name," he admitted to him, a little quiet for a change. Lionstorm had his own interpretation of names-- it's why he was often so picky as a leader. To him, heart meant passion. Who was more passionate than a young medicine cat abandoned by his peers, yet determined to keep going?

A compelling speech as well, Lionstorm couldn't have worded it better. (Probably. It was HIM after all.. the master of public speaking.) "Well said, Snakeheart. RiverClan will persevere through this hardship, but we need to put focus on the danger at paw." He stopped when Blizzardsky decided to interrupt them, scowling. "Oh, piss off. You're not becoming leader, dumbass." Even if Blizzardsky was an active Clan-mate who had ideas for RiverClan's future, Lionstorm personally didn't want to hear it. The guy couldn't even listen to announcements properly. He'd burn the Clan to the ground. [ Zesty Mango]

Now that the patrol was established.. "In lighter news, RiverClan! We have some ceremonies that are long overdue. Many of our apprentices lack a mentor, and several of our kits have had their apprentice names overdue. To be frank, I feel like the Clan's been lacking in the training department and I'll be doing some of these assignments as a refresher of who your partner is.

"When I call your names, step forward. If you don't, you won't get your ceremony -- I don't do it for cats who can't be damned to show up.

Something dropped in Junipersong's heart when her name wasn't called for the predator patrol. That's what she had been waiting for the entire time. It felt like she was destined to go on that patrol and prove herself as well as protect her clanmates! Even Kestrelwing said right in front of Lionstorm that she would be a good fit! Why would Lionstorm decide not to let her go? Was it because of her mild injury? Yeah her leg hurt but it wasn't bad enough to stop her from being a fierce warrior! Besides, the whole point she thought she would be good for the predator patrol is due to her size! Smaller cats might easily get tossed around by a coyote, but she would have no problem keeping one pinned.

She felt like she was going to be sick. Limping her way back towards the warrior's den, not able to get over how she felt let-down and even a little bit betrayed. For once, she didn't try to fight back against her thoughts of self-doubt, letting them wash over her as she got into her nest and just laid there in shame. However, she still kept her ears perked, listening to Lionstorm's message, in case she was called to be a new mentor. Her duty to the clan always came before her own feelings, no matter how seldom she felt down like this.

Moonpaw's ears flattened nervously as Tinytiger's name was called for the patrol. She was almost sure that she wouldn't be asked to go, but the coyotes had already killed most of the high-ranks and she didn't want to loose her mentor too.

She snapped out of her worry as Lionstorm began calling forward apprentices, ears flicking back up in excitement. She felt really happy for her clanmates and hoped they would have better luck with their new mentors.

Silentkit looked at Lionstorm, his head tilted to a side. He was beginning to learn how to read lips, but he did not understand everything. Yet. Once again, he wished he could hear.

Barkfuzz watched the apprentices with excitement. Whether they were getting their warrior name or simply being assigned a new mentor wasn't important - the Clan would have new life breathed into it yet.

Bristletail smiled as the cats that were called got ready to patrol, and she laid down and sighed. She couldn't wait to get away from the camp helping her Clan with the coyote issue or something different. She looked up at Lionstorm, then the other cats that were called and said, "Good luck you all!"

Streampelt listened to Lionstorm until he said Streampelt’s name with the rest of the cats that would be on the patrol that would take care of the coyotes. Streampelt imagined the coyotes jaws snapping at his clanmates, making big wounds in their bodies.

Fiercepaw pricked her ears at the sound of her name being called. Was she finally getting a mentor? Fiercepaw stepped forward, not caring if she seemed out of place sitting next to the smaller apprentices.

Sparkpaw was filled with excitement. He was finally getting a mentor! He stepped forward and looked up at Lionstorm, a huge smile on his face. There were so many amazing cats to chose from. Oh who could it be?!

Fawnkits eyes lit up and he jumped up from his spot next to Deerwing, almost knocking the queen over. Deerwings whiskers twitched and she licked the kits ear before he ran to join the other apprentices and kits that had been called. Deerwing watched him with a type of fondness that could only come from a mother, though she knew she wasn't anything close to that for Fawnkit.

Reedkit gasped. Really? Lionstorm was going to make him an apprentice? Whoa, that was so cool! He eagerly ran up to the Streamstone, doing his best to keep still yet moving about with excitement.

Hearing his name called by Lionstorm, Twigpaw stepped swiftly forward. He had no intention of not getting a new mentor, and whoever it was had better be up to it. He wanted to be a warrior NOW, and he was going to bug any lazy mentor like they'd never been bugged before if that was how he got training.

Splashleap's ears perked as Lionstorm explained there would be a patrol to attack the coyotes, and her eyes opened wide as he named her to be on it. She was going to be on coyote patrol? Really? HER? She was both excited and a bit nervous, coyotes were bad news, but she would have the chance to get revenge for Sootstar and Stormcall. She had made it her mental goal to kill one, and this was going to her chance!

Reassignments, eh? Baypaw happily bounced up, excited to finally get back to training after what seemed like moons of inactivity. And with Duckbounce back in the clan, they were hoping to get reassigned to her again.

Coyote extermination? Great, this was definitely her type of patrol. Berryscorch remembered the thrill of fighting off a pack of dogs at the end of her apprenticeship, so this would be a great chance to relive that rush of the moment and put her combat skills back into use. Rising from her spot, the molly moved closer to the camp entrance, picking out the other patrol members among the crowd. So far, none of them had made a move, but she wanted to be ready to leave as soon as Kestrelwing gave the word.

As Lionstorm announced the coyote patrol, Kestrelwing got to his paws, giving a small dip of his head to the golden tabby before glancing around to pick out his patrol members in the crowd. He would stay to hear out the remainder of the meeting, but planned to leave soon after.

It briefly caught his attention of Junipersong limping back into the warriors den. Kestrelwing narrowed his eyes slightly, for a moment a bit concerned. He knew how much she had wanted to go on this patrol, but understood Lionstorm's reasonings for not placing her on it. Her injured leg was too much of a risk - and he wasn't about to babysit anyone. He tried to catch her eye before she disappeared in the warriors den. Hmph. He'd visit that when he returned. [ Dizerel ]

Seeing that Stormrunner, Tinytiger, Berryscorch, Splashleap, and Streampelt were already making their way over to the camp entrance, the gray tabby rose to his paws to head over and meet them. "We'll leave once Lionstorm dismisses the meeting, and not a moment after. I will not be tolerating anyone slacking off or lagging behind. If you do, then just stay back at camp and don't get in our way," he ordered to his patrol, not caring if it came across blunt or rude.

A majority of his patrol was here, and it appeared they were still waiting on Fishspeckle and Stonefoot. Kestrelwing cast his gaze around the gathered group of cats, wondering if the two warriors were just deaf to Lionstorm's call or weren't gathering at the entrance until the end of the meeting. Whatever. If they didn't show up before the group left, then they would just have to stay behind and he'd report it to Lionstorm.

Kestrelwing took a seat once more, turning his attention back to Lionstorm and the round of apprentices that were to be reassigned mentors. He already had two - Peonypaw and Nightpaw - so he sort of tuned out the next portion, allowing his mind to construct a plan of attack. He wasn't sure how many coyotes they would run into, but the patrol was a sizable one. It wasn't faith in dead stars that propelled him but faith in those that stood around him. Together, he firmly believed they would drive this threat back in extinction.

Lilypaw stepped up, she was so excited for this. This time she would do her best, no mistakes. If only her mother could see her now, even though her eyes couldn't see she tilted her head in the direction of lionstorm basing it off what she could head. There was once a time when she had failed to come up...that had torn her apart. No not this time. This time she would do her best to be a great apprentice.

Whitepaw sighed, it was about time she had a reassignment, then again her with her less than succesful patrol, she wasn't expecting anything to go better for her. And, the more she thought about it, the less she wanted a mentor in general, but oh well, you can't stop it.

Seeing Kestrelwing moving towards the sizable portion of the patrol already gathered at the entrance to camp Splashleap dipped her head as he approached. He didn't seem in the most friendly of moods, but she supposed that was reasonable considering what the coyotes had done. She certainly wanted a piece of them. Of course. she affirmed, just......letting him know she was present and ready to go. Unsheathing her claws she dug them quietly into the dirt. There were enough cats that there shouldn't be any major danger, but if the coyotes had taken all of Sootstar's lives they weren't something to be underestimated either.

littlekit looked up and bounded forward exitedly finally! he thought, he had been waiting for this day since sootstar went missing and though that was bad and stresfull he was ready to be an apprentice to serve his clan as est he could.

Blizzardsky didn’t say anything when Lionstorm told him he wasn’t going to be leader, he wasn’t buying it. Lionstorm was just saying it to make the surprise even better he knew it, but hey maybe he was going to be assigned one of these apprentices. If he was assigned one of the apprentices, then it was a sign he was going to be leader of Riverclan.

The squishy feline squirmed her way out into the clearing, ears pricked as she watched all these cats congregate just below this one spot. What was this? Why were they all here? Her nose twitched, as she continued to look around, eyes wide with curiosity. Is something the matter? Is this a meeting?

She stayed near the back, feeling unsure. She wasn't really called forwards, was she old enough to catch fish? So she simply stayed put. That is, until her new name was called. It took her a second to realize that it was her that was being called forwards. She still wasn't used to the name she was given.

Had she already gotten in trouble? She'd just gotten here. Ears fell to the sides of her head as she slunk forwards, tail tucked, and weaved around her leg. "Y-yes?"

She was proud that everybody was doing amazing as she looked up to lionstorm n she wandered where ripplepaw was. (open to anyone)

"...Baypaw, Drizzlepaw, Sunpaw, Falconpaw..." Hearing his name being called out the tom shook himself out of his thoughts and started padding up to where the rest of the apprentices were. Is Lionstorm going to reassign me to a new mentor or allow me to stay as his apprentice?"

Ooooo clan meetings were always Drizzlepaw's favorite event especially when her name was called! Bouncing through the crowd and yelling sorry over her shoulder for stepping on tails and paws the young energetic molly made her way to the group of apprentice's.

Deciding it was inappropriate for a warrior to be hiding away during a meeting just for an injury as small as hers she started to get up from her nest in the warriors den and head back outside to the meeting. During this era of stress and uncertainty, there is no time to lick wounds. Always hit the ground running! She would need to do her clan proud, and leaving during the middle of a clan meeting wasn't of her nature to do, either. Making her way outside, leaning against the side of the warriors den towards the outside of the crowd gathered at the streamstone. Taking some weight off her bad leg and listening intently for what may be called next.

Afterall, She had already made up her mind about the predator patrol. No reason to be sad about that anymore.

Thrushflower knew she was late to the meeting and felt really bad, so she had no clue what was going on. The only thing she got was mentor reassessments and apprentice ceremony as kits and apprentices were going up. Maybe after she would ask someone. Thrushflower sat down right outside the warriors den to watch.

I know some mentors can be.. neglectful at best, and I don't want any of you to be held back if yours isn't giving you the attention you require. For some of you, this is just to establish your relationship with your mentor-figure as official. Many things have been put off.. and I'd like to set that straight again.

It was too dangerous to go on a patrol focused on fighting, but training didn't need to be extensive. If she was smart, she could handle Fiercepaw without worsening her wound.

"Twigpaw [ gs29513], you'll be mentored by Thrushflower [ Barnabas].

"Lilypaw [ kieryn]," Lionstorm squinted at the stinky. "As long as you don't have anymore disappearing acts, your mentor will be Stonefoot [ QueenCocaHead].

"Palepaw [ Rainquail], I trust Beansprout [ elysian] will get you the training you need to escape the hell that is terrible mentors. You can do this.

"Amberpaw [ Sklee], you'll be mentored by Barkfuzz [ Aquilex].

"Morningpaw [ littlelove], since you seem pretty close to him, Streampelt [ Fierceclaw] will be your mentor officially." There'd never been a ceremony for those two, so he wanted to make it final. There was no point in seperating cats who worked well together.

"Drizzlepaw [ Shimm], Gingerfrost [ Estelle] will be your mentor. Good luck, buddy." Drizzlepaw could be a pawful.. hopefully Gingerfrost could keep her in line.

"Sunpaw [ Shimm], you'll be remaining my apprentice. We'll work on your training once this meeting concludes.

"Hailpaw [ The Flying Pizza], Heronflight [ Angelique] will be your mentor.

"Ravenpaw [ Starfall], Acornwhisker [ Fae] will mentor you." He recalled Acornwhisker was the one who got stuck in a log. He hoped she wouldn't teach Ravenpaw to follow that example.

"Baypaw [ Puddle~], Duckbounce [ Bread] will resume mentoring you."

Lionstorm paused to give everyone a chance to meet and greet each other. "Alright kits, time for you three." He knew Sorrelkit was around, but apparently she didn't understand how to follow instructions, so he'd make her wait. (He was petty like that.)

Fawnkit [ Firey], until you become a warrior you will be known as Fawnpaw, and Leopardfire will be your mentor [ Paradise].

"Reedkit [ Kyrieknight], until you become a warrior you will be known as Reedpaw, and Gentlefoot [ Moon Kit] will be your mentor." He hid a smile. The duo seemed close and he had decided to see how they paired together.

"Littlekit [ feather lily], until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Littlepaw. Fireflylight [ leopardstrike4] will be your mentor." Another pause to give them a chance to find each other. It probably wouldn't be hard.

Oh, and Morningpaw's name reminded him.. "During the last meeting, I noticed somehow we have a double up on apprentice names! To prevent confusion, this will need to change."

He didn't see the Creampaw in the crowd, so he directed his voice to Kestrelwing [ spade]. "I don't know where your Morncreampaw went, but from now on she'll be Peonypaw [ Slushie]. You're free to inform her when you see her next."

"Falconpaw [ Cherry_Pi], Nightpaw [ Kunaiskrill], Sorrelkit [ leopardstrike4], none of you have stepped forward." He's irked by that, in all honesty. "I don't know why it's so hard for you three to listen but this is the last chance I'm giving you-- and that's generous."

He also wasn't going to waste time on just them, he wanted to get things moving. "In addition to all these assignments, it seems we have an outsider who's joined our ranks. Everyone, please welcome Saltpaw [ Panda1440]!" Hopefully, he'd do well here. "If you come forward, I'll assign you a mentor to get your training started."

Once this was done, he was pretty sure it was just warrior ceremonies left and then the Clan would be dismissed.

Lizardfrost smiled faintly. She was very happy and relieved. And more loyal then ever.

Lilypaw smiled a little bit at the dissapearing act remark and nodded thankful that she was getting a mentor, she found her way over to stonefoot following his smell. she was so excited to be training again. she sat down quietly while lionstorm continued to announce other cats.

The to let out a yawn, heading over just in time to hear his name called, along with Aspenpaw's. The blind tom made his way over slowly, dipping his head in respect to the little she-cat. "I'll be your mentor, Aspenpaw. Come find me if you need training" the young warrior stated with boredom.

Bowing her head in deep appreciation, she was very glad she made the decision to emerge out from the warrior's den. Looking around through the crowd, able to peer over most of the heads of her clanmates to find her new apprentice. Spotting her new apprentice, she made her way through the crowd to give them a nudge. "Greetings, little one! It seems you and I will be spending a few moons training together! I know that by the end of it, I will have learned just as much from you, as you will learn from me." Smiling wholeheartedly. It was almost ironic that she was being given a responsibility just a few minutes before she was about to make the most irresponsible decision of her whole life. However, she didn't want to ruin this moment for Fiercepaw, Willing to chat with her and get to know each other for a bit before she would chase after the predator patrol.

Oh gosh, oh gosh. How could he have been late?! A huge clan meeting - with warriors and apprentices and everything - and he had overslept. Oh gosh, oh gosh. Melonpaws heart thumped in his chest hard as he scrambled awkwardly from the apprentices den, only hearing bits of it as his mind went into panic mode.

She cocked her head. “My name is Amberpaw? But yes! I am very freaking
excited! I never really got to do all that much training before. Also I don’t really know all that much and I really want to learn more as fast as I can. Can we do a training session soon”?

It was too dangerous to go on a patrol focused on fighting, but training didn't need to be extensive. If she was smart, she could handle Fiercepaw without worsening her wound.

"Twigpaw [ gs29513], you'll be mentored by Thrushflower [ Barnabas].

"Drizzlepaw [ Shimm], Gingerfrost [ Estelle] will be your mentor. Good luck, buddy." Drizzlepaw could be a pawful.. hopefully Gingerfrost could keep her in line.

"Sunpaw [ Shimm], you'll be remaining my apprentice. We'll work on your training once this meeting concludes.

"Hailpaw [ The Flying Pizza], Heronflight [ Angelique] will be your mentor.

"Ravenpaw [ Starfall], Acornwhisker [ Fae] will mentor you." He recalled Acornwhisker was the one who got stuck in a log. He hoped she wouldn't teach Ravenpaw to follow that example.

"Baypaw [ Puddle~], Duckbounce [ Bread] will resume mentoring you."

Lionstorm paused to give everyone a chance to meet and greet each other. "Alright kits, time for you three." He knew Sorrelkit was around, but apparently she didn't understand how to follow instructions, so he'd make her wait. (He was petty like that.)

Fawnkit [ Firey], until you become a warrior you will be known as Fawnpaw, and Leopardfire will be your mentor [ Paradise].

Oh, and Morningpaw's name reminded him.. "During the last meeting, I noticed somehow we have a double up on apprentice names! To prevent confusion, this will need to change."

He didn't see the Creampaw in the crowd, so he directed his voice to Kestrelwing [ spade]. "I don't know where your Morncreampaw went, but from now on she'll be Peonypaw [ Slushie]. You're free to inform her when you see her next."

"Falconpaw [ Cherry_Pi], Nightpaw [ Kunaiskrill], Sorrelkit [ leopardstrike4], none of you have stepped forward." He's irked by that, in all honesty. "I don't know why it's so hard for you three to listen but this is the last chance I'm giving you-- and that's generous."

He also wasn't going to waste time on just them, he wanted to get things moving. "In addition to all these assignments, it seems we have an outsider who's joined our ranks. Everyone, please welcome Saltpaw [ Panda1440]!" Hopefully, he'd do well here. "If you come forward, I'll assign you a mentor to get your training started."

Once this was done, he was pretty sure it was just warrior ceremonies left and then the Clan would be dismissed.

Truth be told, Kestrelwing had been quite lost in his own thoughts. Trying to formulate a plan of attack for when they inevitably encountered the coyotes. The possibility that they might not find them was not visible to him. No, the gray tabby longed to dig his claws into something - he would track down the coyotes if he had to, patrol or not.

So when Lionstorm called his name, he snapped back to reality and refocused his yellow gaze on the golden tabby. Oh yes, Mornin- Peonypaw, now. Hmm, she wasn't here? He'd just seen her - had she already scampered off somewhere, disinterested in listening to the rest of the meeting? That was... irritating. He dipped his head to Lionstorm. "Will do," he offered, not sure if his words would make it up to Lionstorm's ears from where he sat by the camp entrance.

He'd have to have a word with the young molly about staying for the entire Clan meeting and not just leaving during the middle of it.

There are still a few things I need to attend to first, but it will not take long at all!" Something was definitely off about her demeanor, as if she knew what she was doing was wrong.

Hooray! Baypaw had been hoping to get their old mentor back, and it seemed all that hoping had worked! "Duckbounce!" they yelled as they bounced over to the warrior. How they'd missed training with her. And just training in general. They hadn't gotten any done since Duckbounce had gone missing a while ago. But technically they were almost done. At least much closer to completing all the requirements than they'd thought they had been. "Can we go out for some training after this meeting? Pleaseee??" If she said yes, they were hoping it might be for fishing. They had pretty much everything else covered, but that was the only thing they still needed to learn.

Bumblestep felt nothing but pride race through his pelt as Lionstorm announced he would be receiving an apprentice. His first apprentice. Sure he was nervous. What if he misguided the young cat and led her down the wrong path? What if she resented him for his pacifist ideologies? What if he was simply the wrong pick? The thoughts bounced around in his head for a few seconds before he promptly shook them away. No. He was a Riverclan warrior, and if Lionstorm believed he was fit to train Sparkpaw, then he was fit to train Sparkpaw.

Walking up to the she-cat, large paws slapping against the ground, he made sure to keep his tail held high. "Hello there young one! I don't believe we have had the chance to meet. I'm Bumblestep, and I'm looking forward to being your mentor. Would you like to start training now?"

Melonlaw felt something spark in his chest he hadn't felt before; courge. His large ears flattened quickly as his brows furrowed forward. "E-e-excuse me, but I am an apprentice!" He huffed quietly, frustration behind his voice but its volume didn't raise. The tip of his tail slashed slightly, just slightly.

Clouddream (oops) huffed and sat down, trying to face lionstorm. It was hard, because the tom wasn't currently speaking. He slightly shook his head, grumbling unknown things to himself as he waited for the ex-riverclan leader to speak.

The tom purred at the young cats enthusiasm. If she was this upbeat all the time, the two would get along nicely.

"The first thing we are going to do is take a tour of Riverclan territory. You can't be a good warrior if you don't know the ins and outs of our home. Then, after we have seen it all we can finish off with some hunting practice. Hows that?" Bumblestep glanced up at the sun, still shining bright in the new-leaf sky. A perfect day to get familiar with the running waters and green grass of Riverclan.

BILL. - Sunpaw's invisible eyebrows shot up in surprise as Lionstorm announced that he would still mentor him. Relief flooded the tom as he realized that meant he would have the same mentor and won't go back to Goosefury. Plus not to mention, Lionstorm is a great role model and the best to teach him to become an honorable warrior. Smiling the apprentice dipped his head in acknowledgment and moved over to where Lionstorm can easily escort him to where ever they were going to train.

Gingerfrost! Woooo!" Drizzlepaw came running up to the large tom and practically shoved her nose against his. "Hiiiiii!" Drizzlepaw's enthusiasm radiating off and her eyes sparkling

In all honesty, he was feeling fairly bitter toward the trio that didn't listen to begin with. Saltpaw wasn't like them-- already a shining example of the minimum he expected from his Clan-mates. (No offense to Saltpaw, he was sure the newcomer would prove to be an even greater asset in the coming moons.)

The two apprentices didn't even bother trying. Of course they wouldn't. So his attention went to Sorrelkit, muzzle pressed in a thin line. "Sorrelkit [ leopardstrike4], when I call your name the first time I expect you to listen. If you can't even be damned to do that, why should I make you an apprentice?" It didn't bode well for the future. "Step back. We'll revisit your ceremony at the next Clan meeting - hopefully you'll actually follow instructions then." He dimissed her with a wave of his tail, focusing on Saltpaw.

"Saltpaw [ Panda1140], until you've completed your training, you will be mentored by Dayheart [ hope]." Dayheart would be a good introduction to the Clan, he hoped. There weren't many cats as calm and warm as he was.

Onto even more exciting news! "RiverClan, I'm happy to announce we have two cats ready to become warriors. Snowpaw [ Silverfur & Co] and Petuniapaw [ Fuzzy] have both completed their training." He wouldn't go into this being a surprise promotion on Sootflare's behalf-- not when Snowpaw seemed to have finished her training regardless of the little hunting contest. "Both of you, please step forward."

By the next meeting, he hoped to see Spiderpaw and Plumpaw up here.. with any luck they would be.

Snowpaw stepped up to the middle of the meeting and looked up at lionstorm and looked at petuniapaw. Both of them had completed training and she was very excited she hopped that soon ripplepaw could join her in the warriors den. As she stood her white and black stripes where neatly groomed she wandered what she was going to be called and hoped Featherbreeze was watching her too. She smiled at all the clan.
