Though Burrface had long heard the rumors whispered among the Riverclan cats of murder and tragedy, to hear it from Sootstar's mouth make her grit her teeth. "A waste of life!" She cried, though fell quiet immediately after.

The gathered crowd was abuzz with outcry and chattering amongst themselves. She looked over at Firesweep to see how he was reacting to the news. Disturbed, unsurprisingly. Burrface sighed. "No, no. I've become skilled at keeping myself out of trouble." Her tail tip flicked before she added, "It seems the difference between life and death nowadays."

"I don't know what your idea is - disappearing right after your warrior ceremony then waltzing back into camp at the next meeting but I'm afraid that's not how this works." He huffed, glaring down at the previously absent tom.

"Fennelheart [ Zesty Mango ], since he seems so keen on cozying up to you, you can be the one to escort him out of camp." A quick glance around... "Snowfern [ Mumble ]! You as well. I will deal with him later but for now, I want him out of my camp."

Leopardfire glanced up in surprise. He had been missing a couple days, but planning to talk to Sootstar after the clan meeting. He flattened his ears, a little saddened and nervous. He hated getting in trouble. It made it even worse that his leader had assigned his former mentor and sister to escort him out. He flushed a little.

"I-it's okay," he mumbled nervously, "I'll go myself to wait at the border." He hopped to his feet, winding as lightly as he could to draw less attention to himself. Great, he had just become a warrior and was already in trouble.

Snowfern winced slighty as she listened to Sootstar get mad at Leopardfire. The white she-cat cast an empathetic gaze at her brother, a small smile on her face. Yikes. She didn't even want to know what it felt like to get yelled at by your leader in front of the whole clan! As Sootstar spoke again, her eyebrows shot up in surprise. Her? Why her? She was a camp guard, sure, but it was still unexpected. Dipping her head to sootstar, she quietly turned to pad over to her brother. Mouthing a small 'Im sorry' to him, she placed her tail on his shoulders to guide him out. "No, im coming with you." She insisted, shaking her head lightly. (sorry for the short response)

Snowpaw sat in silence and in shock wandering why leapordfire would do such a thing as vanish.... she hadn't even gotten to talk to him really. She looked up at Sootstar wndeeing what he was going to say now that this happened.

Amusement danced in Kestrelwing's eyes as the newly made warrior was guided out of camp. He had to hand it to Sootstar - calling out the warriors who just left RiverClan like that. While he make not have been the hardest worker by any means, he still at least made it known he was a member. Taking a moment to glance over at Eelsting, he pondered how his brother was reacting to this news. Perhaps considering going after his exiled Clanmate? Definitely mourning the deaths of Charredpaw and Sugarapple. From where he saw he couldn't quite get an exact read on him so the tabby refocused his attention back on Sootstar, deciding to remain where he sat as the meeting continued.

A shocked look formed on Ebonypaw's face. Sugarapple was dead!? He barely knew her, but he still felt bad. She was supposed to be his adopted mother! She was who he was given to when he was found on the territory! He looked to the closest cat. "This isn't real, right?" he choked out. Kipo Oak
Primrosepaw wasn't paying much attention to what was being said in the meeting - the apprentice had gotten caught up in an attempt at a imaginative communication with a stick. Yet suddenly the youngling's ears flickered and she turned around by the mention of Sugarapple. Mama One! She wondered why commanding voice two would mention her and another. There seemed to be a sudden shift in the air that didn't settle right with the tiny calico as Sootstar continued. It was something... Not-happy. And eventually Sugar was mentioned again, and again, and it only confused Primrosepaw more and more. She frowned, head tilted, ears angling in different directions to try to catch any hints on what may be happening, but she couldn't hear anything specific.
She was silent for a few moments, but then got the brilliant idea to just ask Sugar herself! She would know what.. Illed and... All those other words were. "Sugar?" Primrosepaw listened for a reply but none came - perhaps she didn't hear her "Sugar?" she'd turned towards where she hoped the nursery was, but still nothing "Sugar!" Primrosepaw called out a last time, quite a bit louder. She couldn't understand why the molly wasn't replying to her - truth be told, what Primrosepaw had to understand was that Sugarapple was no longer there. But who could blame her for not understanding? She'd been kept away from any mention of such until now. She didn't know the meaning of 'killed'. She would soon, probably, but now it only left her confused and... Unhappy? No- Worried.
Sparrowskip put his head down as he heard about Sugarapple. His mother... gone. He had never really had anything against ShadowClan before but this, made him hate them with a fiery passion. He would definitely be at that vigil tonight.
Flyfur finally padded up to the Clan meeting, misery weighing in her stomach like lead and gripping her lungs like a briar. From the looks of shock across the Clan, Sootstar had already announced Sugarapple's fate.
Several faces in the crowd stood out to her and her heart sank, recognizing it was possible they'd forgotten some of her other adopted kits.
She got up, despite having just sat down and stopped by each one of them to comfort them.

She approached Primrosepaw first and let out a soft mrrp sound to indicate she was approaching. She didn't know if the apprentice was blind or just not visually aware.
"Primrose. Prim. I'm a friend of Sugarapple's. You called out for her, but I'm afraid she can't come to you. Would you like me to help you instead?"
She could only assume Primrosepaw didn't understand death. It wasn't uncommon in younger cats or even slower cats and some where just sheltered, but right now, she simply wanted to ease the apprentice into the truth as gently as she could.

Eventually she padded over to Ebonypaw, interaction with Primrose on her mind. Without much of a word, she just presses closely to the apprentice.
"I'm sorry about Sugarapple. Were you two close?"
Perhaps small talk would make things easier for him. He seemed the kind of cat.

Finally, Flyfur ended up to Sparrowskip. This was a conversation they'd had before and more words couldn't cover the emotions, the stress of it all, so she attempts physical affection. She leans into him, pressing her side to his and just sighs heavily, unsure if she should remain quiet or offer some words, but it felt empty and meaningless to rehearse old conversations, so she just sat next to him.

EmberPaw conversation with the tom next to her was cut short as Sootstar spoke. Upon hearing the news, outbursts from her Clanmates could be heard, the shecat herself eyes widen slightly as she took in what had been addressed. Killed?
The young shecat felt a small unease settle in her stomach, she felt unease and fear wash over her for a moment, her own clanmate was killed just like that...
Emberpaw shook her head, taking a tiny breath to calm herself down. ‘Don’t be pathetic and lose your head over such things ember. ’. Thinking this quick emotion killing thought, finally she returned to a neutral state but nonetheless her brows furrowed she she looked to the grown for a moment to show respect In her own way to the fallen, furthermore Listening as the leader continued.

Ebonypaw looked up as yet another cat he didn't know padded up to him. This cat he knew the name of, she was Flyfur. He shook his head. "No... Not really," he admitted. "I n-never really knew her that well. B-but... She took me in when I joined and the other kits were mean to me. A-And gave me my new name." Ebonykit. That had sounded so, so much better than just Ebony, the rogue nobody cared about. "She was the closest thing to a mother I had." If he could feel this much pain and grief from losing a cat he barely knew, he couldn't imagine how how the cats closer to her would feel.

Feathermask s stomach churned ...deaths?! Oh for the love of starclan... Poor things . When she heard about sugarapple she gasped. One of the nursery queens! No! Nonono. She's not talked to her at alk but from what she's heard , sugarapple sounded nice. Her ears folded back and hung her head. Stupid shadow clan.. Why can't they leave them be?!

Sedgestorm murmered nonsensically in response, a purr rising within him.

He hadn't thought to ask anyone for training in swimming and fishing. He wanted very little to do with water on a good day and even less so when it was cold. Maybe he could get away with not learning until it was warmer.

Primrosepaw couldn't understand how there were so many sounds, and how of which none belonged to Sugarapple. The tiny apprentice was frowning as she listened in all direction, until eventually one specific sound stood out to her "Sugar?" Primrosepaw turned- the wrong direction but nonetheless still thinking it might finally be the molly who had been the first to take care of her. But no. She was met by a much different voice - one Primrose knew didn't belong to Sugarapple. Turning again by her name, the calico finally managed to mostly face whoever the voice belonged. Although this voice was the first to correctly say her name, she was frowning even if that expression was partially taken over by surprise. Her ears were perked though as she listened, slowly trying to make sense of the molly's words. This voice.. Knew Sugarapple, from what she understood, and there was something Sugar couldn't do? "Su..gar...?" Primrosepaw finally meowed slowly and questioningly after a moment silence, head
tilted. By the difference in her tone, it was her asking about Sugar - what and why the molly couldn't do, why she wasn't showing up like before.

"Sugarapple loved you dearly and she would never leave you alone if she could help it. She was..... taken from us. She was taken far away, to somewhere she can't come back from and somewhere we can't bring her back from. She won't be coming back...."
She blinked, tear welling in her eyes again. She should be be tyer about this, about getting over lose, but she's lost so much and Sugarapple..... it just hit too close.

Eelsting listened to the reported deaths with a frown and a bowed head, Charredpaw getting to him especially. While he felt for Sugarapple and mourned her death, it was always hard to hear of an apprentice dying before they’d even gotten the chance to really live.

It didn’t take long for the announcement to be entirely trampled by someone popping up after disappearing and Eelsting raised a brow at the former warrior as he was escorted away, not recognizing him despite his status as a former Riverclan cat. Fairly apathetic to the sudden arrival, the smoky tom turned back to Sootstar. Both the death announcement and the arrival had been interesting but neither were the reason for this meeting, so Eelsting couldn’t help wondering what was. Perhaps Sootstar had chosen a deputy? The tom looked around at the gathered cats, wondering who it could be. There was a lot of potential in Riverclan and excitement began to grow in Eel as he pictured who among his clan mates would excel in the position.

Heronflight couldn't help but notice an apprentice slid out of their den. He looked a bit excited about something. She wondered what it was. She wouldn't ask him straight on that wasn't her business. The black and white molly padded over to Beanpaw. "Excited about something?", she asked in a friendly jester. Maybe they were going to become an Warrior. Most apprentices were excited about becoming warriors. She wondered if he was the same way.

He only jumped a little bit as a cat approached him. Oh! They seemed friendly. "Yeah, I am! I think... well, I hope this is when I become a warrior!" The normally soft-spoken cat was rather upbeat and talkative. His mind was racing with possibilities and positivity. Despite the bitter chill of leaf-bare, he felt... warm. Fuzzy. Nice. "I kinda wonder what my names gonna be. Hopefully something fun. But nice? Liiike... Bean...nose? Hmmm... I don’t know."

Sootstar cleared his throat. There was some mourning to be done but it would have to wait. There were other things to be accomplished this meeting and he didn't intend to it to drag on any longer than it had to.

And he didn't know much about apprentices, but he did know from overhearing other kits that they had a teacher or something like that, and they had to train. Besides..- before Primrosepaw could process the short arrangement of words, the tiny calico felt something soft brush against her side. There was a small jump of surprise, despite the earlier given warning, but she didn't move as she was to busy listening to the word arrangement that followed. Her ears were perked to catch every word of it as the Primrose remained silent. It was... Something about Sugarapple, clearly, yet something within those words didn't feel right - it felt... Wrong. Very wrong. Slowly Primrose's more surprised features turned to a frown, the little one trying to process it all bit by bit - to try to understand what it all meant. The words repeated several times in her mind yet half of them didn't make sense to her. And nonetheless... Slowly Primrosepaw started to draw the conclusion that Sugarapple had become a- "..n..n-ot..H..w..ho...m-e..Sugar?" Icy blue hues were wide as she stumbled out the question that was as much of a conclusion. But... Hadn't she been a not-home cat before? Sugar came back then, yet this time there was something- something to the way it all was said and how everything felt... It told her that this time Sugar wouldn't be back. She was... Taken? The other voice had said, however that could be meant. Primrose's face dropped as she found herself confused, still, and not knowing what to think anymore. It made her head hurt - and so the apprentice found herself leaning against Fly's side. She was still trying to make sense of it, but it was difficult and she had no idea what the tiny drops of weirdness were that she felt faintly within her eyes "Su..gar" Primrosepaw mumbled, a bit in thought though with no specific meaning behind it this time, and to occupied to notice the meeting she generally didn't pay attention to continue.

Russetstrike was quite late to the meeting, he had been having some chills that he just couldn't get rid of. He'd probably have to see the medicine cats about this but, was going to wait a few more days to see if it resolved it self.
He had been listening to Sootstar from inside his nest so knew mostly what was going on and just sat right outside of the den, ready to curl up again.

The massive white cat bent down to touch noses with the apprentice. He sure seemed excited. She patted him on the shoulder with her huge white paw.
"All in good time. We'll wait for the meeting to end and then we can go explore the territory if you want." she explained as she seated herself among the crowd.

Sootstar smiled warmly down at the small tom. He couldn't help but recall when he had joined the clan so many moons ago.

oh dear...she was late! Late! Oh starclan, Feathermask ran into the area and took her seat hoping that she didn't miss anything too important .

This was it! A rush of adrenaline and joy flowed through the young cat as he stepped forward through the crowd. He felt as if he had grown so much in his time as an apprentice, looking back on how anxious and unfamiliar he was with Clan life before. Now, the siamese walked with his head held high and his tail upright. He met Sootstar’s eyes and returned the tom’s warm smile.

He was ready.

Reedkit fell silent, but couldn't stop himself from getting excited. Someday, he would be up there, becoming an apprentice, and then warrior! He really couldn't wait, but remained respectful as he watched. Phoenix Fall

Echokit snuck out of the nursery. She had heard that two kits were now apprentices. I wonder when I will become one she thought.

Silvercreek dragged himself out of the warriors' den, grunting as his bones ached. He had been late to the meeting, but his joints had been acting up, though he heard everything from his nest. As much as he disliked to admit it, it wouldn't take long for Silvercreek to become an elder.

Snakepaw wrapped himself around his mother rasping a comforting tongue over her shoulder as he internally panicked over how to even help here. He resolved to viciously glare at the others that may glance over as his mothers crying (though they seemed distracted by another announcement Snakepaw promptly ignored) and to quietly ask "Whats wrong? Is there anything I can do to help? I can listen or just hug you, whatever you want."

"Im sorry that sounds awful. It sounds like you cared for her a lot and Im sure she knew that when she went and would have wanted you to be happy even when she was gone. I dont know if thats any comfort but even if its not Im here ok? Im not gonna leave you." Snakepaw purred lightly as he rubbed his head against her shoulder.

A flicker of guilt ignited in Fawnsqueak as he realized his singular interaction with Sugarapple wasn't one he had the joy of remembering fondly. His stomach twisted at that, gaze sifting through the crowd on instinct for Otterstrike in case she'd be among the faces but just as before, there was no sign of her. He bit the inside of his cheek as an image of Sugarapple, weakened by greencough, still managed to rip his heart to shreds as she graciously thanked him for treatment never received until nearly too late.

By the time he was listening again, it'd seemed Sootstar had moved on. Which was... practical, he guessed, but his perception of the meeting had been dampened. He hoped none of the cats receiving their ceremonies felt similarly, forever bonded to this awful event every time they thought back on a day supposed to be celebratory.

In keeping with the lighter parts of the meeting, Fawnsqueak chimed in with his clanmates to congratulate them nonetheless.

Littlemist walked over to Featherpaw at a slow pace. Hoping now to draw any attention to himself. "So you must be Featherpaw?" Littlemist said looking at the apprentice calmly.

Lizardpaw, formerly Lizardfrost, didn't understand emotions very much. She was always determined to be the best, always training, always satisfied so long as she did her duties and improved. A brilliant mind and a simple motivation. But ever since her demotion she felt strange. Bad. Sadness was new to her and though she still hadn't cried a single time in her life, she felt like she might. And now there was shame. Something Lizardpaw was more familiar with. She felt it whenever she failed at anything. She turned to Foxblaze, her poison green eyes losing their icy quality and becoming oddly dull.

Turtlepaw kept her head down. Of course she wasn't getting a new mentor - well, that was good. Eelsting was nice and friendly and safe and active and just.. good. He was pure, he was delightful, and she was going to become a good warrior with him as her mentor. She didn't want life any other way. "S-s-pringpaw?" Turtlepaw meowed, finding her sister. "W-who's your m-mentor?"

"I do believe I've held you here long enough but I have one last thing to share. It's been just over two moons since I took my place as leader and I have yet to name a deputy. Partially because I hadn't had much time to think about it but also because it's a very important role to fill." He glanced around the clearing - many warriors here were interested in the positions, that much was to be sure, but only one would walk away with it today. Hopefully, there weren't many sore losers in RiverClan, "I had to find someone I believed was reliable enough to handle the pressure and get the job done. I believe I have found that cat."

"I'd like you to welcome Stormcall [ ghostwriter ] as the newest deputy of RiverClan."

"Stormcall! Stormcall!" Reedkit cheered once more. He hadn't seen the warrior often, but hopefully he'd make a good deputy!

Silvercreek hummed, listening to the announcement. Stormcall was certainly a cat he'd never really talked to, but he could tell just by looking that the at would be a fine deputy.

Stormcall, austere, prideless, and steely in her every mannerism, stepped forward, her jewel-toned eyes bright and resolute with quiet determination. She fixed her gaze on Sootstar, and dipped her head in respectful appreciation.
Her parents had lived and died within the thrall of the warrior code and the dignity of RiverClan. This was her homage to those who had come before her. This was her legacy.
The blue-gray warrior turned to address her clan, her shoulders set in resolve, she lowered her head in a gesture of honorable servitude before speaking.
"I thank Sootstar for giving me the opportunity to serve you--we are a proud creed, and together, our strength and perseverance will be what identifies us. You are my compatriots, my kin...and along with Sootstar, I will stop at nothing to secure a legacy of esteem prosperity for us. I thank you all, and commission StarClan to guide my path." She announced. When the deputy-apparent spoke, the reasoning for her name became immediately clear. There was enough authority, mettle, and calm determination in her voice to summon a storm to battle, and as she looked over her clanmates with pride emanating from her grave features.

This time, Fawnkit said the new deputy's name loudly and clearly. He was still a bit uncertain, but Reedkit was doing it, so.... it had to be right. And he had no idea who Stormcall was, but she was the deputy, so she had to be a good big cat, right?

Stormcall offered the medicine cat a rare half smile--she was an austere warrior, but there was far more amity beneath her steely surface than most suspected. She dipped her head in gratitude, a spark of resolve flashing in her sea-green eyes.
"Thank you, it is my honor. Should you ever need me for anything at all, do not hesitate to ask. I am here to serve my clanmates." She responded, with a brief nod of affirmation.

Snakepaws head shot up from where he was staring narrow eyes at Lizardpaw next to his mother. A new deputy? It was about time but hopefully Stormcall was prepared for juggling the often hectic clan, Snakepaw sure hadn’t been and it’d been more then he ever expected and he was an apprentice. The warrior would need to brace themselves well. She seemed... a bit stiff in the young toms opinion but maybe she was nervous. So piping up Snakepaw called “Congratulations Stormcall! Now here was what the meeting had most likely been mainly called for. RiverClan had been without a deputy for quite some time, and the usually sour warrior was actually curious as to who was going to fill it. Though he wasn't a believer by any means, he silently hoped for it to not be Eelsting. His brother was already unbearable as it was.

The name Sootstar called though wasn't Eelsting. Stormcall... He'd heard of the molly's name before. Snapping his head over to the warrior, he studied her briefly. She was strong, resilient, though her steadfast dedication to StarClan about bored him to death. He just couldn't understand why most seemed to allow a bunch of dead cats to tell them what to do. They were dead for a reason, and the tom firmly believed that the living were, in fact, much smarter and more clever than those "among the stars".

Nonetheless, the tom chanted her name, participating in the old Clan tradition. He'd go up to thank her later, but for now he waited until the sour taste of StarClan and the molly's association with it would be gone.

Stormcall, Stormcall! Splashleap chanted, her tail waving in the air. She had a new apprentice, and the clan had a new deputy. And while some cats had also died, which she was still quite scared about considering one of them was killed by Shadowclan, this was one of the more positive meetings.

Stormcall! Stormcall! Twigpaw cheered, wanting to make sure everyone knew he was loyal and supported the new deputy. He was going to be that cat one day, he hoped so badly that he would. But for now they needed one, hopefully this cat would do a good job.

Jaggedpaw gulped. Blizzardsky was a very popular cat, and the thought being his apprentice made Jaggedpaw nervous. What if he messed up? The golden - ginger tom suddenly felt very shy. But instead of running to hide, he walked up to his new mentor and touched his nose.

"Sparrowskip," Lionstorm greeted when the medicine cat approached him. "Things have been going well.." if not a bit boringly, not much had really happened in the Clan since the change in leadership. "How about you?"

The meeting was taking a bit to kick off - and when it did, Lionstorm twitched his ears at the news of Charredpaw. "Thank the Stars!" He was smart enough to keep his voice a low mutter, relieved to find that asshole was gone. "It's about time someone took care of him." He had endangered the Clan too many times, was too careless.. his snap had been inevitable and Lionstorm was glad he was dealt with.

Sugarapple wasn't news to him - but regardless he dipped his head out of respect. There were few queens in the Clan with her compassion and warmth, and already he found himself missing her motherly nature.

And of course, it wouldn't be a meeting without the resident Missing Cat making an appearance like they never left to begin with. Lionstorm let out a short huff.

Kits, he didn't really care about. Apprentices were a pebble a dozen and usually didn't make it far. It was unfortunate.. but true. Still.. "Mousepaw, Lakepaw!" Lionstorm's voice boomed to make up for the lack of cats cheering. How disgraceful. It was unfortunate Lotusheart received an apprentice again.. it made Lionstorm wonder if Mousepaw would be emotionally stunted too.

AND BEANPAW.

Lionstorm's ears perked up and he hopped to his paws, loudly bellowing. "Beansprout! Beansprout! Congratulations, buddy!" He was proud of his little pal- the tiny scrap of fur that bearcat brought into the Clan ages ago. Time really flew, didn't it.

For a brief moment, Lionstorm felt old-- he never really focused on his age but the last few seasons had taken a toll on him.

Apprentice reassignments, Lizardfrost demoted for stupidity. Nothing new there. Blizzardsky receiving an apprentice was always a poor idea, but ultimately it was Sootstar's problem when it backfired.

And then finally.

After all this time, a new deputy. Lionstorm quirked his brow at Sootstar's little speech, wishing there was some more flair to it before the announcement - but he couldn't expect much from the old man himself. Stormcall.

Interesting choice. Lionstorm didn't know the lady well but he was curious to see how things would fare. "Stormcall, Stormcall!" Her little speech could use some work to liven it up, but that was something for another time. "Congratulations to you," he chirped as he approached her.

It was strange - how long had it been since he was a warrior approaching a deputy? Rowandaisy wasn't around for her Clan in the slightest, too focused on getting pregnant and neglecting her kits to do her job as deputy. The only good thing she did was die so he could be named in her place. Hopefully Stormcall would do better -- than both Rowandaisy and the majority of Lionstorm's deputies had. Her actions during this meeting wouldn't reflect her ability to serve the Clan going forward, after all.

It was kind of sad.. but something Lionstorm had learned the hard way long ago.

"If there's anything I can do for you, to help you get settled into your duties, just let me know."

The tom had opened his maw in an attempt to respond to what the Apprentice had said. But Sootstar speaking up made him swiftly shut it. Listening quietly until the big announcement. Once Stormcall was announced the newest deputy the Warrior grinned. After Moons of the tired tom getting stuff done, mostly by himself, he finally had another pair of paws helping...in this specific type of job. "STORMCALL STORMCALL STORMCALL!" he bellowed.

After hanging around, watching everyone disperse the Calliby stretched, letting his back crack accouple times, before heading off towards a higher point in camp.

Primrosepaw was still confused with everything that was going on - the news about Sugarapple possibly being a not-home cat now, the strange feeling of something not being right... It had gone to where the small apprentice wasn't fazed to the slightest by the chanting for Beansprout, going to the point of completely ignoring it. She just... Nothing made sense. And eventually, her name was called again by commanding voice two, followed by another - but that's what always happened when she got a new care taker! Hadn't she gotten a new one like... One call-session ago? Shimmeringpool? The sudden change, for the third time, of mentor didn't help. And before the tiny calico could even try processing any of it, paw steps approached followed by something pushing against her nose. Right away, Primrosepaw skirted away out of surprise. She hadn't expected such sudden contact nor had she any idea by who, yet her ears were still perked as she listened. Was that... New care taker? Mentor? She sounded nice enough, but Primrosepaw hesitated. Everything was going so fast - too fast and when the crowd started chanting once again, but this time for a 'Stormcall', the apprentice made herself small as to try hiding.

Finally a new deputy, it seemed? That was about time - Gingerfrost had been expecting for it to be announced at any moment. Although never having liked all the chanting that much, the young warrior called out the new deputy's name still "Stormcall, Stormcall!" Gingerfrost was interested to see how it all would go with Stormcall as deputy. He had never spoken to the molly, unsurprisingly, and although he didn't hold the biggest amount of care as to who got role all he really hoped was that she, and possible future deputies, weren't straight out mousebrains. For now she didn't seem like one, luckily, and hopefully that would remain as such.

Stormcall was reserved, statuesque...externally. Internally, the newly ascended deputy's mind was shuffling through and categorizing tasks by priority, all while listening to every parting word from her clanmates. She blinked a bit, stirred from her deliberating by Lionstorm's voice.
She dipped her head respectfully to the experienced warrior--a gesture she favored both for formality and amity.
"Thank you. I am certain I have much to learn...fortunately, I am a quick study if nothing else." She replied, something like humor edging her tone. Up close, there was something wild but stately about Stormcall--the striking eyes, the long facial scar--a distinct intensity.
"Anything I can do to alleviate some responsibility from Sootstar, I consider a victory." She remarked, watching the bicolored tom bound off into the territory.

Splashleap hadn't meant to scare her new apprentice, she had just been trying to be friendly, but her excitement did come across as nuttiness occasionally. Taking a step back, hoping that giving Primrosepaw a little space would help, she kept quiet for a minute, watching the apprentice rather intently. She hadn't messed up, had she? She hadn't hurt the smaller cat or anything? She was hoping she hadn't, she didn't want to do something to her new apprentice. Cocking her head to the side, she asked slowly Did I hurt you? There was a sudden silence that both scared and intrigued the little apprentice. Her ears twitched as she turned her head to listen in different direction, but didn't hear much. At least, not until Splashleap spoke with a rather... Unusual word. Hurt? Primrosepaw had never heard of that before - she didn't what it was but by her new mentor's tone it didn't sound like something good. So... Mostly since she didn't know... Primrose shook her head. Now that she thought of it, it was strange, actually, how other could know what her movements mean when didn't know about their most of the time. How did they do it? that sudden thought was very confusing... A bit misplaced, too, considering what was happening but when was it not. Eventually though, Primrosepaw lifted her head and tilted it in the direction she believed the other molly to be, giving a some-questioning look. She didn't have any specific questions though was admittedly a bit curious about Splashleap - and this was her third caretaker now... She wanted to know why they kept changing. She had liked Shimmeringpool!

Flamebriar padded out of the warriors den when she heard a meeting get called. The molly glanced around in hope to see her mate. She didn't want him to go missing. She'd miss him far to much. As Sootstar called for another Clan meeting, Kestrelwing pushed his way out of the warriors den, parting his jaws in a large yawn. Finally, the tom had been able to catch up on some sleep. After a rather emotionally-charged few days, he still felt lethargic as he took a seat near the back of the gathering crowd. What did Sootstar have to announce now?

Petuniapaw trotted over to the Streamstones. This was her first meeting sense she was back home. So strange but she felt like she was fitting back in. Got to do a bunch of things so far. Sad and not so sad. Like the hunting competition, that had been fun! Sitting down, close to the front but far enough to be surrounded by other cats, Petuniapaw turned her attention to Mister Sootstar.

Sedgestorm was jolted awake by Sootstar's yowl. He'd originally been sitting in the clearing, lazily watching his Clanmates pass him by one moment and then the next..... he must have dozed off.
He awkwardly trotted to the Seastones, following the gathering cats and finding himself a space to sit, settling in when the scent of Flamebriar came to him.
He turned to her, a shooting a smile in her direction.
It never failed to make his heart flutter like a little bird when she sat next to him or simply held his gaze. He scooted to the side and patted the spot next to him, offering for her to sit next to him.

Flamebriar saw her mate and padded over to him with a loving smile. She settled right down, pressing herself against him. It was always great to see him. She never got tired of it. He was the best thing in the world. To her he was everything.

"So how has your day been?", she asked. She was still a little tired as she had gotten up early to go and do some hunting. She wondered where her apprentice was a lot. She wanted to finish their training. It would be her first ever accomplishment.

To be fair, Gingerfrost wasn't really in the mood for a meeting. And who could blame him? Recent turn of events weren't exactly being nice, especially considering which time just passed. But nonetheless, he heaved himself to his paws and attended, laying down onto his belly somewhere at the back, looking up at the leader. Hopefully this one would pass by quickly.

Commanding voice two? Commanding voice two! He was yelling again! And that meant join! Primrosepaw shot up, and skipped over to the growing crowd of cats. Eventually tripping over her own paws is what brought her to a stop with a stumble, and the small molly just happened to find herself standing on the little patch of grass she'd been poking at for days. Which was awful! She couldn't stand on them! Primrosepaw lowered her head to listen and started poking the grass with a somewhat worried expression. Were they good? They were good.

Fawnsqueak gauged the crowd before braving it himself, dodging between cats to navigate through the sea without stepping on any toes or tails. His current capacity to deal with an aggravated clanmate was thin, so luckily, he secured a spot near Lionstorm without much additional hassle.

A heartbeat of contemplation led to tired mischief, and he leaned over to lightly pummel Lionstorm's tail as if it'd been a casualty in the herd of cats coming to see what Sootstar had to share with everybody.

Daintybird strode into the clearing like she owned the place, and she supposed she may as well be honest: she did own the place with a demeanor like the one she sported on a daily basis. Everything about her screamed stardom. It was merely a gift that she happened to embrace this calling by gracing the rest of her clanmates to a show wherever she went.

This time around, it was strutting through the rows of gathering cats to find the perfect viewing location to settle in -- not to see Sootstar. Oh no. Eyes would probably be on her, and she loved her audience too much to starve them from drinking in her beauty.

Chin tilted to the sky and gaze lidded, Daintybird subtly polished her coat with a couple licks before turning her focus to basking in attention drawn to her.

Ripplepaw felt his face growing hot as Snowpaw padded over to him. It wasn’t that hot outside, was it? He laughed nervously.

Ghostpaw flicked his eyes over the warrior who'd sat beside him. "It's a meeting," he said flatly, keeping his eyes trained on her. "They happen every so often." No reason to have too high of expectations. Perhaps she meant something else. Did she know something he didn't? Was something going to happen? He brushed his questions away. They'd be answered soon enough. No need to get all twisted up in his brain, especially not during his second meeting.

Snakepaw was pissy today. He was mad and looking for a fight. If anyone so much as bumped him today he would rip them to verbal shreds and then physical ones too. But Sootstar doesnt like it when he got uppity and snarly in front of the rest of the clan so the lanky tom wouldnt act unless something went wrong or heavily provoked.

Snakepaw was on his paws in a flash pupils thin slits as he took in the news. Windclan was invaded? How?! They were a strong clan how was that even possible?! And Twilightstar and Breezefeather, well Snake didnt have any personal opinions on them but if they were missing that also might mean;
"Sootstar! Is there any news on Coldamber and Snailswirl? Surely Dawnstar isnt brutal enough to target the medicine cats too?"
For all his snark the lanky tom liked the two windclan cats and did owe Coldamber quite a bit for her kindness in teaching Snakepaw herbs at the gatherings. He couldnt risk going directly to potentially help the older molly or even try and sneak her herbs over the border with shadowclan being there but he still felt he had to know she was still alive at least.

Shadowclan had taken over Windclan? Splashleap was shocked, and her face showed it as she gazed nervously up at Sootstar. It seemed like it might be the right thing to help, but would they be able to beat Shadowclan? Their cats were certainly more battlehungry, and what if Windclan was forced to fight with the dark cats? They'd surely lose then! They had to worry about Riverclan first. It was a bit selfish, but surely they would be of more help not all dead themselves!

Ghostpaw's eyes widened a bit with intrigue. Why would Dawnstar invade WindClan? Certainly she didn't want their territory. What would she do with a bunch of open moor? From what he'd heard about Dawnstar, she was rather unstable. Perhaps it was for something bigger. Something about what Sootstar had said was bothering him though. If they hadn't heard from Twilightstar or Breezefeather, then who had spread the news? Maybe they shouldn't help WindClan, it might even make things worse for them!

All of these thoughts went on in his head, yet his face and body remained impassive. He flicked his ear idly, listening in to other conversations, but making sure to remain seemingly neutral about the news.

Well, that certainly wasn’t what the young tom had thought the meeting was about.

He was a little late from the party, awakening from a nice midday nap to Sootstar’s call. After a long yawn, a couple stretches, and a quick grooming session, the siamese stepped out to hear... oh. Well. That was something. He looked down at his paws, feeling fear and doubt wrestling dutifulness inside of him. He had to do this. What if he couldn’t—? No! He had to. He had made a promise to Sootstar, to all of RiverClan. He would fight a hundred WindClan warriors, and save Robinpaw!

And the rest of the WindClanners, he guessed. But mostly Robin.

Barely a moment after though, the mere tone in which Sootstar addressed the clan indicated that his earlier statement of 'just the usual' was wrong. His ears perked and gaze drifted over to the leader - none of the news sounded specifically good in any way. The news brought one of the rare moments Gingerfrost whished he was one of those older more experienced warriors simply because then it seemed what he said could actually matter just a little, because then he might be something besides a pawn in a possible fight - even if that position never bothered him by any means. That's what he found, at least. But either way, he didn't find ShadowClan's actions right "what do you think should be done of this?" the young warrior eventually asked his friend.

Gingerfrost glanced up at Lotusheart a bit questioningly as she mentioned their mossball game - in truth a memory he quite liked "what about it?" he asked.
Barely a moment after though, the mere tone in which Sootstar addressed the clan indicated that his earlier statement of 'just the usual' was wrong. His ears perked and gaze drifted over to the leader - none of the news sounded specifically good in any way. The news brought one of the rare moments Gingerfrost whished he was one of those older more experienced warriors simply because then it seemed what he said could actually matter just a little, because then he might be something besides a pawn in a possible fight - even if that position never bothered him by any means. That's what he found, at least. But either way, he didn't find ShadowClan's actions right "what do you think should be done of this?" the young warrior eventually asked his friend.

Lotusheart shuffled her massive paws. She was often reluctant to share her opinion, but she had full trust in Gingerfrost.
"To be honest, I don't think Dawnstar should be leader at all, and everyone getting rid of her would do good. But, of course, I don't fully understand clan politics and maybe that would upset ShadowClan and offend WindClan." she said shyly.
