Oh yeah, she hadn't seen her mentor in a while.
She'd walk up to the StreamStone, feeling kinda displaced.
Would this just happen again?

MEETING TIME.

Frozenpaw zipped to the Streamstone and nearly crashed into the base from his speed but managed to stagger to a halt in time, then backtracked through the crowd to find a decent viewing spot. Oblivious, he didn't look where he was going as he was too determined to find the best place to listen from.

When he found it, he puffed himself up proudly to demand, "Warrior ceremony!"

Iceflower squinted and could've cackled to herself at Frozenpaw's antics because they weren't her problem anymore, it was Lionstar's. He wanted this kit, he got it. As far as she was concerned, her role was pretty much over, minus holding him back in the nursery for the last couple days after yet another unapproved excursion that her fish-brained son hadn't been overseeing.

Dragging her gaze away from the clan with disinterest, she paused to evaluate Lionstar.. how he was doing. He'd been crankier than she remembered recently. Iceflower didn't bother to look but figured Firehawk was nearby, so she said, "Look grouchy. Needs dad talk or I give him something real to be baby about."

Ooh, ceremonies! Like celebrations? Beankit wondered how this would go for the cats called up. Would they be praised for their patience? Hmm, maybe these ceremonies weren’t what he thought they were. These apprentices were getting new mentors. What happened to their old mentors? Did they just disappear? What if that happened to him? Oh, no. His paws gripped the dirt, he pushed the intrusive thoughts away. He’d only focus on the present, yeah.

Dogkit ran up to the Streamstone and sat around the edge of the crowd.
Foxpaw padded up and sat next to Dogkit, "Hey, did I miss anything?"

"No" Dogkit told Foxpaw. He looked up at Lionstar, his eyes full of excitement. If I become an apprentice today, I can go back to the Dark forest! He looked at the ground, feeling a wave of guilt crash over him.

Blizzardkit wasn’t the favorite kit in the nursery, he was always getting into mischief such as attempting to tunnel out of camp or playing in the warrior’s den. Frankly, he’d noticed Bumblebelly groaned at the sight of him, and he enjoyed rubbing it in his face by trying to make his throat sore from groaning.

"No" Dogkit told Foxpaw. He looked up at Lionstar, his eyes full of excitement. If I become an apprentice today, I can go back to the Dark forest! He looked at the ground, feeling a wave of guilt crash over him.
Foxpaw turned to him and nudged him knowing what he was thinking. "Hey, don't worry about it, maybe one day you could take me." she said, it was a blanket offer, she didn't care if she went or didn't but it would make Dogkit less guilty.

Ripplepaw bounded forward at the calling of her name, already knowing what this first part of the meeting was going to be about as soon as she'd heard Lionstar call it. Stupid Riverripple hadn't shown up after that first day, and Ripplepaw had been impatiently waiting for the time to come when Lionstar would notice and reassign her a mentor. Clearly there were other apprentices with the same problem as her, and Ripplepaw gave a grin in their direction as she padded up. Hopefully she got the best one out of the newer mentors. One that wouldn't disappear on her this time.

Foxpaw turned to him and nudged him knowing what he was thinking. "Hey, don't worry about it, maybe one day you could take me." she said, it was a blanket offer, she didn't care if she went or didn't but it would make Dogkit less guilty.

"Wait, you mean take you to the Dark forest?" Dogkit asked Foxpaw. He would feel horrible if she got hurt."If you mean the Dark forest then no" he told her.

Later than usual BrambleBlaze padded into the crowd of cats. Eyes up towards the leader. Yay...another one. Yawning, the tabby layed down.

Late, Sootclaw ran into the clearing . He hates being late to stuff! "I'm here! I'm so sorry everyone ! " with that he took a seat.

Finchpaw looked at the streamstone, sadness clouded her gaze. A new mentor? Cobaltshade isn't back yet? the black apprentice thought. She quickly came forward, her ears dropping slightly, no one could be better then Cobaltshade

Cottonpaw padded out of the apprentices den and sat near the middle of the clearing. He looked around at all the other cats who had joined underneath the rock. The deaf tom sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. He knew how it was like to get a new mentor so he felt a bit sorry for some of these cats.

Frozenpaw was waiting intently for Lionstar to heed his request, and he egged him on with little chirps of excitement because this could be the day that RiverClan saw a new best warrior for the ages. As a warrior, he could do whatever he wanted, even go to bed at sun high. He could boss the babies around, and go out on his own. No more Lionstar telling him to get in the rat hole.

Blizzardkit was surprised by the whack on the head,” Hey!” he meowed angrily. Who did this little apprentice think he was. He was a cool older cat, but also an annoying little twirp. Blizzardkit held his gaze with Frozenpaw,” I’m gonna be an apprentice, but I’m smart so I might as well skip apprenticehood. Frozenkit.“ he told him cocking his head slightly. He didn’t want to get in trouble for fighting so he’d have to wait til the clan meeting was over to start a good old fashioned slap-flight.

Flyfur had been slower than usual to get to the Streamstone. She found somewhere to sit and carefully curled her tail nearly around her paws.



Cricketchirp blinked himself awake at the sound of yelling. It didn't sound panicked, so it wasn't bad? When the shouting continued, he saw for to check it out. He pushed up and almost tip toes out of the nursery. There were a lot of cats gathering about and maybe he should, too?
He slowly followed the crowd streaming in around and found somewhere to sit to listen.

[Dawneye]

Dawnkit growled slightly and looked at Duskkit "I'll be right back, that apprentice hit Blizzardkit. I know he shouldn't be so cocky, but that isn't how you treat another cat I mean come on." She ran up next to Blizzardkit, giving a nasty glare to Frozenpaw "Frozenpaw leave him alone, he is just an eager kit."

Berrypaw frowned, waiting impatiently for the reassignments to be done. She honestly didn't care for this part of the meeting. Sure, it had always sort of puzzled her why so many cats disappeared without a trace, but it wasn't her problem. As long as he own mentor wasn't one of the cats who went missing, she was fine. They could just get new mentors anyways. It wasn't like the clan was on an extreme shortage of warriors. And so, she tapped her foot restlessly, awaiting the next part of the meeting. The ceremonies. She wanted to see if Fernkit, Maplekit, and possibly even Silentkit would be joining her in the apprentices' den. She'd much rather it be Fern and Silent than Fern and Maple. That little devil would be the end of her, and she wanted to keep her distance for now. If he ranked up, she'd have to readjust her plans, and come up with some measures for safety, and...it would just be a whole mess she didn't want to get into.

Oh, wow! That thunk on the head did this thing wonders, it must've knocked sense back into it. "It's okay that your mommy dropped you!" Frozenpaw said loudly to comfort him, turning the thwack into pats. "I made it better!" With this kit, there was probably no room for improvement beyond this. He even had some fancy new words to use, it was like his touch was magic and had healing properties.

And when Dawnkit padded over, he was beginning to feel like he was at the baby-spot and would have to find a better one because the nursery stink was getting to him. "Yeah!" he agreed with a beam, then realized maybe this had drawn unwanted attention. "Lion, it's OK! Nothing to see here! We just got a DUD but we can put him in the rat hole later."

Dawnkit growled at Frozenpaw "Blizzardkit is not a dud, If you ever want to be a decent warrior you need to learn that respecting your clanmates is important!" She gently licked Blizzardkit's forehead "You will make a great warrior someday Blizzardkit, but you do have to wait till your time comes, like how I had to wait and might even still have to." Dawnkit smiled at the younger kit before lifting his head up and looking at Duskkit from afar, smiling and feeling hot beneath her pelt

Blizzardkit didn’t enjoy Dawnkit pestering him. He was acting like a big kit not a little pipsqueak of a kit. He didn’t need a pesky older kit standing up for him. He had four paws and well, his kit claws were starting to dull into adult claws, but they probably were sharper than Frozenpaw’s claws. He lashed his tail silently. I could take this pesky Frozenpaw...but I want to be a warrior, and warrior’s don’t attack clanmates.

Blizzardkit finally decided what to say,” I can handle myself pipsqueak but if you want to take this dud we can take him together and make it more fun, as for you Frozenpaw. I’ll see you on the training island after this clan meeting and I’ll crush you to the ground.“ he meowed confidently. Blizz didn’t really get that Frozenpaw could quite literally whoop his ass in battle training and leave him for the seagulls.

Frozenpaw liked imagining a future in which Blizzardkit was rolled off a cliff with the rest of the stinky babies in the nursery. He was glad he was out of there because stars, this bunch of them were annoying! "NAUGHTY!" he barked out at the stupid kit, chastising them again then rolling his shoulders back to strike his best warrior pose. "CODE BREAKER! Fight clanmates is bad!" He was sure of it, Iceflower used to mutter about how she wanted to but couldn't all the time! To Lionstar in case he was still supervising the kit-situation, Frozenpaw updated, "The dud wanted to fight but I said no, because kits may be stinky but no beating them up, right?"

Snowpaw quickly padded over to sit in front of the streamlined, her ears perked and her head cocked.

Sunkit sat in the midst of the crowd. His head still swirling with the realization that his father was a psychopath and that he made a fool of himself in front of the entire clan. Shaking the thoughts out of his head the tom looked up to the golden leader wondering what he was going to do today.

Blizzardkit couldn’t believe how mousebrainned this apprentice was. Did anyone ever speak to him when he was a kit? he wondered thinking about his terrible grammar. He puffed out his chest,” Fishbrain. Squish you in battle training.” he mused lifting his paw slightly trying to decide if cuffing him on the ear was a good idea or not, before realizing it might cost him his apprenticeship and that wasn’t worth cuffing him on the ear,” Your mama musta dropped you on the head as a newborn.“ he declared proudly. Blizz believed he had found the problem with Frozenpaw, being dropped on the head in the nursery as a kit, simple not very complex really.

What should have been a fun, quick little meeting-- in theory, was beginning to turn into a mess because of the squabbling babies beneath him.

Irked, Lionstar's voice was harsh as he snapped down at the annoying trio. "Frozenpaw, Blizzardkit, and Dawnkit-- enough!" Frankly, he was less annoyed with his apprentice than the white demon that was harassing him. "None of you are becoming warriors today, and you, Blizzardkit, certainly are not becoming an apprentice.

"It's one thing to be annoying at a meeting, it's another to be downright disrespectful to your Clan-mates. Dawnkit, I understand you are trying to stick up for your denmate and will not fault you for that, but in the middle of a Clan meeting that is inappropriate. Even so, Blizzardkit, you should not be talking down to her and you should not threaten to fight your Clan-mates.

"Go to the nursery." It wasn't a request, it was a demand. "If Bumblebelly [ S-oft] or Sugarapple [ vermin] don't take you, I'll allow my mother to shove you in the kit pen for the rest of the moon! If you want to act like a babykit, you're going to be treated like one!"

And for Frozenpaw.. he scowled at him. "Keep your paws to yourself for today, go sit by mother until the meeting is over. I want no more disturbances from any of you, do you understand me?"

Dawnkit looked up at her leader "I am sorry Lionstar, Do I too have to go back to the nursery or just Blizzardkit?" she shook just slightly, looking over at Duskkit with an apologetic look She was just defending Blizzardkit. Why did he have to be so cocky and cause so much drama wherever he goes? UGH
BILL.

[Fawn]

Although he was grouped in with the shrimps, Frozenpaw sunk with a 'pbbfft' as he stuck his tongue out at the stupid baby. Now they were all in trouble because of that dummy! Pouting, he stalked off toward Iceflower only to get nabbed by her jaws and taken away to a corner of the meeting, plopped between her and Firehawk as she shared some quick, displeased words of discipline. He wasn't listening, ears flattened.

Though his name wasn’t called, Beankit still jumped when Lionstar snapped at the squabbling cats he’d been trying to ignore. His heart raced, he couldn’t help it. When he sat back down, he couldn’t stop his tail-tip from twitching side to side or his paws from trying to grip the ground below him. Lionstar just refused a kit apprenticehood. Could — could that happen to anyone? He became even more nervous, and determined to be on his best behavior. Back in the corner. Away from everyone else. Yeah, this was where he belonged.

Willowkit sat wide eyed right in front of the sunstone looking between the fight and Lionstar. Great starclan those kits (and kit like apprentice) were very rude! She may not know much be she felt Lionstar had the right of it. Kits stay quiet during important stuff. She straightened up puffing out her chest and focusing on Lionstar maybe if shes quiet and respectful enough she'll get a cool mentor when its finally her turn!

Peachpaw simply raised her chin and ignored the squabbling kits, feeling superior, no way she'd lower herself to acting like some sort of baby when she'd only just managed to become a 'paw. She was happy Lionstar was swift to scold them, trying not to giggle at them.

Turtlekit flinched at the scary tom's harsh words, would he snap at her like that? The thought made her shudder and she didn't have any nice-smelling fur to hide her face in out in the clearing. The thought of retreating back in the nursery had crossed her mind, but she didn't want to be in there with that loud kit who'd been scolded.

Blizzardkit was furious at Lionstar and narrowed his eyes,” I can escort myself to the nursery. I don’t need help.” he meowed angrily as he stormed off to the nursery. It wasn’t so bad being a kit for another half moon, he would get all the attention of Sugarapple and Bumblebelly, that would be fun.

Lotuspaw padded over to see what the meeting was about.

Cottonpaw saw some eyes rest on something, so he turned around to see two kits. They must have gotten in trouble by the look Lionstar gave. He didn't understand why cats had to interrupt a clan meeting. It was starting to get tiring. "The guts in some cats." , he mumbled quietly to himself.

Now that the problem child had buzzed off, Lionstar allowed his fur to lie flat. "No, Dawnkit. I was speaking to Blizzardkit. As long as you remain well behaved, you will not have to join him."

He didn't know where the mix up there had been, but it didn't really matter-- the disrupters were disbanded and now all he had to do was give Softpaw another moment to come forward.

Iceflower cuffed Frozenpaw on the ear now that he was settled between her and Firehawk, shooting him a dirty look for interrupting the meeting and causing it to drag on even longer. "Picking fight with babies," she scolded, "what wrong with you? How many dummy can one cat raise?" Leopardshine, Lionstar, Frozenpaw... they were all grating, though she still felt the familiar pang of absence for her son. An irritating son was better than a dead one. "No pick on Blizzardbaby. No pick on any baby." Iceflower knew they were terrible and shared his frustrations more than Frozenpaw was aware, but getting in fights with them was childish. You just asking for thump on head." She watched through narrowed eyes as Frozenpaw sulked down further, but she had no sympathy for that apprentice-brat right now. "Why can't you be good like girl baby?" she tsked, shaking her head. A female kit would've never embarrassed the family like this.

Despite his flattened ears, Frozenpaw caught bits and pieces of that, interpreting the last comment as a desire to have a daughter rather than a son. A well-behaved one. That was a tall order, but after being shamed in front of the Clan, he was willing to give it a try to restore his chances at becoming a warrior. A good warrior! A good girl warrior. Frozenpaw would be unstoppable.

Silentkit felt so guilty after having his denmate leave due to him finding thorns. Through huffing he blurted out to Maplekit, "I think Berrypaw is also suspicious!"

Dawnkit purred and walked over to Duskkit, gently leaning against him as she yawned, closing her eyes

Wormbite hesitantly took a seat in the crowd. From the sounds of the voice, he could decipher that it was … Frozenpaw and Blizzardkit. Someone else too. Either way, very worrying. Small cats fighting each other? A mixture for disaster. He shuddered at the thought.

Oh heck yeah. THEY WERE BACK. Thunderclan may have been horribly boring, they had made it through the tortuous experience.

Silvershade skipped on over to the crowd, it really had been so long sine they sat in their favorite,, spot. Oh hey, look. Kits fighting each other-- So cu-- Ah, wait what? The warrior paused for a moment and shrug their shoulders. Best not to question. Silvershade took a seat near the frontlines, peering up at Dandelion (Lionstar) with beaming curiosity.

Harepaw walked out of the Apprentices' den, late for the meeting.
He hoped no one had noticed that he came late in as he found a spot by Honeypaw.

Honeypaw looked up at Lionstar and sat down right before Harepaw came out of the Apprentices' den, hearing a squabble.

Maplekit whipped his head around, thinking, What does Silentkit want now?! "Oh, really? You think?" he sneered, anger flushing into him. "Yeah, totally not suspicious." Maplekit scoffed, turning away to pad into the nursery.
Elementals (if it seems that Maple knows everything, he doesn't. It's because of the thorns and Fernkit not really liking him being around TT∆TT)

Owlpaw hurried over to the meeting, realizing that she was already late. She slowed to a stop, standing there for a few moments before sitting down, directing her attention up at Lionstar.

Bumblebelly had only popped his head out of the nursery in time to hear his name called. Was not much of a surprise to shes it followed by an angry Blizzardkit storming back towards the nursery. Bumblebelly gave the heated cat a small lick on the forehead of Comfort as he passed.

Bumblebelly made his way into the clearing, being there easily with a few steps of his large paws. Gentle gazeccaight sight of Dawnkit. Bumblebelly couldn't help but tsk quietly down at her. "You'll be sitting with me for the rest of this meeting," His words took a more firmer tone to them than usual as he pulled Dawnkit to sit between his front legs.

All were accounted for now, so Lionstar continued.

Hopefully there wouldn't be further disruptions, or he'd be pissed.

"All five of you have been let down by awful mentors, and I hope.. the cats I have selected to be your new mentors do not let you down.

"Stonepaw [ The Shadow Flower], from this moment forth you will be trained by Hickoryblaze [ Moon Lily]. Hickoryblaze, it should come as no surprise Dawnpaw has disappeared, but I know you did well trying to finish her training. I trust you will be reliable with Stonepaw, too.

"Nightpaw [ Sneakyfox55], from this moment on you will be trained by Spiralheart [ Skye]. Spiralheart, as you witnessed during the tournament, Flowerpaw has decided to depart from our Clan." Like a kitten throwing a fit over not being allowed to do what she wanted. "Despite her foul attitude, I know you tried to train her well and I hope you can pass your skills onto Nightpaw. I believe his mentor has been.. very absent, so I don't imagine he has learned much, unfortunately.

"Finchpaw [ Cecily Herondale], from this moment forth you'll be trained by Sootclaw [ SilentLamb]. Sootclaw, you are young but formidable, and I trust your determination will be passed onto Finchpaw. Don't let her disappear on you, too-- last time I did a mentor reassignment she vanished." He considered it fair warning when she could be a flight risk.

"Softpaw [ kittygirl], with Lightfeather's disappearance I am officially assigning Gentlethunder [ Starbot] to be your full mentor. While I understand Firehawk has no interest in taking on another apprentice permanently, you may seek him out for additional training as well."

"And Ripplepaw [ RedHead], I had high hopes Riverripple would suit you better, but as he has been a disappointment and hasn't turned up since the raid, I hereby am appointing Lilytail [ FireSandwich] to be your new mentor. Lilytail, Tinypaw has disappeared along with many others, but I trust this will not discourage you from being the best mentor Ripplepaw could dream of."

He was curious to see how Maplekit would react to not being called. Even if the kit was quiet, Lionstar planned on informing the Clan of his behavior. And Berrypaw's, for that matter. He was quite displeased with both of them.

While Fernkit poked her head out of the nursery, Maplekit just stared at Lionstar, no expression showing. Maybe he doesn't want me and Fernkit to be siblings anymore, he thought, immediately feeling a wave of anger wash over him. While he muttered the possibilities, Fernkit bounded forward, along with any other kits who had already made it. "I'm here, " she said as formally as she could, though her twitching tail gave away her excitement. Fernkit's gaze then rested on Maplekit. At first, she felt guilt flash through her, then it disappeared as quickly as it came. Who cares. I mean, he did something bad, right? Berrypaw would never lie... Or does she?

Ashpool padded into the camp, a little late to the clan meeting. She had been out of camp to clear her head, missing half the meeting. She was here now wasn't she. The molly did hear that her mate had gotten a new apprentice. Ashpool let out a purr.

Almondbush was sitting in the back of the clearing, looking up to see the shadow of Lionstar. To him he was just a yellow blur, but that was normal for him. The tom laid down, tucking his paws underneath him and listened to the meeting. Those kits must be excited on becoming apprentices. He remembered when he became one.

Duskkit continued to watch the leader as he gave some apprentices a new mentor. This would be interesting if he actually knew any of these cats. He was still excited to become an apprentice. Then, he heard Lionstar call some kits forward. He shivered in excitement when his name was called. Right after his name,Dawnkit was called! They were becoming apprentices together!

Duskkit made his way to the front of the group of cats, walking nimbly over the paws and tails of other cats. He looked around for Dawnkit as he walked out of the group of cats and stepped up to Lionstar. She had walked away to go help a kit that was being bullied. He couldn't see her now. Oh no! Where is she! I need her! I don't know what to do! He suddenly felt very exposed. Away from the group of cats, he felt like his emotions were open for any cat to see. But mostly, he felt like he was open for Lionstar to look for all of his weaknesses.

Maybe he'll throw me out of the clan...I don't know what to do! I need Dawnkit! Where is she! He looked frantically around the clearing, searching for her friendly face.

Only Oakflame had ever managed to get to warriorhood, and the other two disappointments were off probably living their lives as kittypet of rogues of some kind. Good riddance, honestly! What kind of cat who'd rather disappear deserved to be in this clan, anyway? They were Riverclan, not puny, soft Thunderclan! Hopefully this apprentice wouldn't be a total sass bag like Dawny was...
"Thank you, Lionstar. It's an honour." He purred, bowing. His golden-brown fur fluffed out with further pride, newly groomed just this morning.

Exchanging a warm smile with his apprentice, he leant down to touch noses with Stonepaw.
"I expect that you're ready for training?" He mewed simply, voice dainty as always. Though he kept the warm smile, his gaze was cool. There'd be no monkey business under his watch, that was for sure. Glancing towards a familiar pelt, he grinned as he spotted Ashpool. His mate was here! She may have been around quite a lot, but he never got tired of seeing her face. He gestured excitedly to Stonepaw, hoping it was subtle enough to catch her attention.

Turtlekit's eyes went even wider to hear her name called out, it scared her, thinking she might get snapped at like those other kits. She knew by now what an apprentice was, and she was surprised to hear she was going to become one. She hastily weaved through the other cats to where the rest of the kits gathered, still cowering when she sat among them. Apprentice's had chores, she'd seen them do them and leave the camp. They also seemed to be more prone to injury than a kit, probably because of all the work they did. It scared her to think she'd be bad as an apprentice, would she be kicked out if she wasn't good enough? Swimming had been difficult, and frightening. When she was seen to be bad at what must be such a vital skill, would she be scolded and sent away?

Coastpaw padded toward the streamstone as a meeting was called, ears perked to see what this was about. As Lionstar started talking, he listened in and watched as five apprentices received new mentors. Suddenly, he was grateful that Splashfury had been thorough so far in getting him trained. Then, he listened as a bunch of new kits got their apprentice name and their mentors, eyes bright with excitement for them. He still remembered his own apprentice ceremony like it was yesterday even though it had been quite a long time ago. It was a memory that would last a lifetime for these kits.

Softpaw gave a curt nod, before weaving through the cats to get to her favorite grumpy kitty, gentlefart. She stood in front of her new and defiantly improved mentor, "glad you get to be my mentor, I know i can learn a lot better with a cat as fun and cool as you gentleface." she snickered.

Beankit listened, nodding along. What kind of cat just goes and disappears? But then, his name was called. Wh— what? His heart raced. He stood up, though, not saying a word as he crept through the ranks and followed the other cats his age. He hoped he was following the right cats as he arrived at the base of the big rock, absolutely terrified. He had no clue what to do. He’d never seen a meeting before. The faces around him radiated excitement or slight nerves. The young siamese was very afraid. Afraid he’d do something so horribly wrong, he’d get called out for it. Afraid his secret would be exposed to the entire Clan. What if Grizzlybug was wrong, and they really did have to pass a test in order to become an apprentice? Well, if it was fighting, hunting, or even swimming, he was bound to fail. The cat shook visibly.

Dawnkit hissed at Bumblebelly "I did nothing wrong." She moved away from him and looked up at Lionstar as her name was called. She quickly walked up and stood beside Duskkit, brushing up against his fur comfortingly, seeing how nervous he was, she whispered to her friend "He will give you your new name and you will touch noses with the mentor you are given, okay?" She smiled comfortingly before facing Lionstar again

It'd been some time since Lionstar called a Clan meeting, and what better time than now when things had settled down and he had a plethora of announcements to make?

Mostly ceremonies for kits and apprentices. He wasn't sure if he'd go into the warrior ceremonies this time around-- it depended on how everything else went.

"All those old enough to swim, gather beneath the Streamstone for a Clan meeting!"

His voice bellowed out as he climbed up the rock, taking a seat with his tail neatly tucked into his paws.

First things first.. once some cats gathered around he'd fix the apprentices that no longer had mentors problem.

Stars, cats ditching their apprentices was getting old. Lionstar didn't like his but you didn't see him going missing over it!!!!!

Grizzlybug had been sitting to the side of the meeting, barely paying attention, until he heard Beankit’s name. The fluffy tom leaped to his paws, elated for his little friend. Part of him deflated, though, since he had been hoping to be Beankit’s mentor but Eveningpae hadn’t had her ceremony yet, even though she was finished training. Oh well, he wouldn’t spoil the young tom’s big day! “Beankit! Beankit!” He chanted prematurely, wanting the kit to know he had someone backing him up in case he was feeling nervous.

Nothing mattered much to the tom in this meeting since he didn’t know any of these cats, so he only listened with half an ear, giving his attention instead to seeking out a cat to flirt with. Or that Loonpaw- he’s love to annoy her.

Stormkit has not expected to be called up. Her gold eyes were wide as Lionstar caller her name and she padded forward from the nursery. Huh. I didn’t expect this! She thought, stopping at her place in front of the streamstone.

Ivyshine watched the ceremonies with interest. New apps! How lovely. She thought with a happy flick of her tail. She was so excited for them! Ivyshine thought apprentices and lots were the life of the clan, and them ranking up was always lovely.

As soon as his name was called Curlkit shot out of the nursery like a rocket and skidded to a halt in front of the Streamstone. He was having trouble keeping himself still as he sat down - his tails waved excitedly behind him and he had to force them over his paws to keep them still. Sometimes it was as if they had minds of their own!

Duskkit was still looking around frantically until he saw Dawnkit say something to a cat and walk over to him. He smiled gratefully at her as she brushed pelts with him comfortably. He couldn't help but start purring softly. It's all going to be okay now...She can help me...

Duskkit turned his gaze back up to Lionstar. He heard Dawnkit whisper in his ear what he was supposed to do. He nodded after she was finished and kept looking at the leader, his head up and his excitement showing in his eyes.

The deputy sat quietly as Lionstar listed off the reassignments and called forward kits for their ceremonies. The continued... lack of participation from their warriors was a disappointment and something that would have to be dealt with sooner rather than later but at the moment, Sootflare was more focused on getting through this meeting. While he sported the same staunch appearances as always, his pelt itched from the presence of Lionstar. Even though conversation before seemed to be a one-time reprimand, he still felt as if he was walking on thin ice.

Sassafrasfire hustles into the clearing from outside, notices the meeting taking place and without a second thought swerves to join the rest of their Clanmates as the ceremonies go on. Their fur was wet, either plastered to their flanks and tail or spiked out at all ends, and there was a little bit of sea grass draped over their shoulder. As they'd been late to the party, they hadn't the time or opportunity to find Ternsky, but their eyes dance over the gathered cats as they begin to feel more settled down.

"the only cat i recognize from back in the day is lionstar. it feels so weird. it's like i'm back with the clan, but not really back with the clan. oh well. i'll get used to it." she twitched her ear, closing her mouth as the announcements continued. "so, how's life nowadays??" she inquired, taking a moment to glance up at the warrior. spiderpaw still missed oakflame; he'd been a great mentor; but dawncloud didn't seem half bad. she could get used to this.

( Both cats mentioned in this are open. ) Cloverwish was already in the clearing. She padded over to the Streamstone, sitting next to Snowcry. Snowcry looked over at Cloverwish, and smiled. She knew that Cloverwish was a trusted friend. They had been together since they were kits.

Gentlethunder hobbled out of the Medicine cat's den. It was getting easier to walk, wounds didn't hurt as much as they had been. He'd woken up halfway through the meeting, just in time to hear his name get called...along with that fiesty half Apprentice of his. Although now he supposed she was fully his Apprentice to train. If he was in any condition to train, that is.

Before he knew it, said squirt was sitting right in front of him. Quirking a brow at her snickering the Calliby aimed to gently bap her in the face with his good paw. Finding it hard to lift his other arm due to his shoulder injury. "Yes well this face, and this warrior is down and out for the time being.If you wanna learn how to be a good rock I'm your Tom, but other than teaching you how to keel over right now I've got nothing. I may take Lionbutt up on his offer about Firehawk." he thought aloud.

Why does he look funny?

Although she'd seen the tom on the rock before, it was only now that he called her name that the kit really noticed him.

The rest of the clan was paying rapt attention to the yellow cat- something she found rather odd. Normally groups of cats had only one leader, and Hivekit was pretty sure that the one here was Sootflare.

What is he doing?

Not really seeing any problem with asking, she called out;

"Who are you? Are you another leader? Isn't Sootflare in charge?"

The kit almost shouted the words.

Maplekit whipped his head around, thinking, What does Silentkit want now?! "Oh, really? You think?" he sneered, anger flushing into him. "Yeah, totally not suspicious." Maplekit scoffed, turning away to pad into the nursery.
Elementals (if it seems that Maple knows everything, he doesn't. It's because of the thorns and Fernkit not really liking him being around TT∆TT)

Silentkit meowed, "I believe that it had to do with that old elder named Bubblingbee or something. I think Berrypaw was involved with something deeper. Yesterday, Berrypaw wanted to talk to me. What she really did was scare me off and I found a bone of Bubblingbee in her nest."

Silentkit padded foward. He didn't like that fact that there were so many other cats around, his anxiety rose as Lionstar look angry at the kit and apprentices fighting. Hopefully he wasn't be punished.

Duckpaw raced to the meeting. She knew she was very late, but she still wanted to attend. As she sat down under the Streamstone, she smiled at all the kits that would be ranked up.

Softpaw stuck her tongue out at gentlethunder when he bopped her, "Yeah, I guess i'll do some training with firehawk until you're all healed up." she assured him, "how'd you even get messed up that bad, was it the raid yall did on icefart?" she cocked her head to side in curiosity.

The tom chuckled. "I'll still tag along if Firehawk doesn't mind. But yea, it was the Raid on uglystar." he huffed, gently sitting himself down. "I think it was a 3 against 1 battle? Well it was a 2 versus 1 at first with one of your clanmates. Than I went to go help, but apparently more Shadowclanners showed up and it turned into...I think. A 4 against 2...or more like Me against 4 Shadowclanners, Because said clanmate passed out. Thankfully, more of our warriors showed up and saved my hide." so maybe some of the numbers were wrong, but honestly the whole battle was a blur to Gentlethunder he couldn't remember just how many there were.

Lightpaw sat a bit aways from the meeting, listening respectfully but ultimately participating minimally. That is, until she heard Sunkit's name being called. She perked her ears up, curious. While the tom was much older than her, he was only being apprenticed now. Lightpaw let out a soft purr, finally, he deserved it. She hadn't spoken to her friend since she'd been made an apprentice a couple moons earlier, but now that he was an apprentice too maybe they could hang out more! Once he'd received his mentor and new name Lightpaw would be sure to speak to him.

the she-cat returned the small smile. "it practically is an entirely different clan," spiderpaw replied. "the only cat i recognize from back in the day is lionstar. it feels so weird. it's like i'm back with the clan, but not really back with the clan. oh well. i'll get used to it." she twitched her ear, closing her mouth as the announcements continued. "so, how's life nowadays??" she inquired, taking a moment to glance up at the warrior. spiderpaw still missed oakflame; he'd been a great mentor; but dawncloud didn't seem half bad. she could get used to this.


Dawncloud waited for a pause in Lionstars announcement of the apprentice reassigning, and the next batch of kits to become apprentices before she spoke again.

"I'm sure once you get settled again and start interacting more with the current and new apprentices you'll find your place again." she confided. And when she asked what the clan has been up to lately the amber eyed warrior heaved a heavy sigh.

"That's a loaded question to be honest, Spiderpaw." she warned. "Windclan had some coyote problems, and Riverclan has inserted itself in the most recent Thunderclan and Shadowclan skirmish."

It looked like there was only one cat they were waiting on.. to some degree.

Lionstar was getting sick of the children acting up today, and he scowled at Dawnkit when he saw her hiss at Bumblebelly. "Dawnkit, is that any way to treat a Clan-mate who has your best interest at heart? Apologize to him right now." He didn't care if she hated Bumblebelly or thought this was 'unfair'-- the queen did nothing wrong.

And Hivekit..

Lionstar wasn't really that impressed. It screamed a lack of awareness and carelessness to him that in the moon or so she'd been in the Clan, she only familiarized herself with the deputy. "I am the Clan leader, kit. Sootflare is my deputy.

"Since you seem to be heavily unaware of your Clan-mates," he mused, "perhaps it would be best if you remained with your father. Bumblebelly, when this meeting is over I expect you to socialize some of your kits better. There's no reason why they should be so blatantly out of the loop."

Bumblebelly was not a feline to enjoy being center of attention but he appreciated the back up of Lionstar in regards to Dawnkit, even if it did feel like he was being undermined. If Bumblebelly was any less of a squishy mess, he would a totally different cat when it came to parental matters. Instead he simply lacked a decent backbone. "Hissing at you isn't very apprentice like behaviour... You are very lucky you aren't being held back with Hivekit and Blizzardkit! If it was my decision, it would be a different story." He bared his teeth but for a brief moment, the hiss of a small Molly reminded him of Dogkit. A tang of grief made his words taste sour.

He turned his attention to Hivekit, sudden grief turning to embarrassment. Two kittens held back in one ceremony? Oh bother... Bumblebelly sighed as he moved over to sit beside Hivekit, maybe this time he wont be hissed at. "Alright atter this you, me, and blizzard will be having a lesson in being good clan cats!"

Dawnkit growled slightly he didn't even know the story and she tsked at me. She took a deep breath and stopped growling "I am sorry Bumblebelly." She flicked her tail and returned her attention to Lionstar and Duskkit. She gently rubbed against her friend, she didn't enjoy being seen as a trouble maker for trying to prevent a fight between two of her clanmates and being scolded when they didn't even know what really happened.

Duskkit shifted a little on his paws as he heard Lionstar scold Dawnkit. He heard her growl next to him and he twitched his whiskers. She was just helping a kit! Bumblebelly was the one being mean! Of course, he didn't say any of this. He calmed down a little as she gently rubbed against him. He gave her fur a quick lick, hoping it would calm her down.

Dawnkit just rested gently against her friend, taking deep breaths and trying not to let tears go down her fluffy cheeks

Duskkit felt concern in his eyes. Lionstar had been a bit harsh to her, and he knew she might cry. He let her rest against him, his strong body holding her up. He smiled at her and lay his tail gently on her back, reassuring her that he was there to help her. He then looked back at Lionstar, excitement rushing through him again.

Looking at all of this mess Willowkit took in and internalises a new lesson. Good kits sit down and shut up around the warriors. She'd never been scolded like these other kits and never wanted to be, so while she would always continue to play and have fun, maybe not around Lionstar. He may be a good leader but she thinks he's a bit mean to kits, best to be mature acting, like the warriors!

Swanfeather padded into camp, noticing a meeting was going on. He had no clue what was happening, simply settling behind the crowd. His stomach grumbled-- he was hungry and tired. But he stayed awake, trying to keep himself focused forward.

Weaselpaw padded out of the apprentice's den, a frown on her lips. Great, another failure. Now she couldn't even get to the meeting on time! She sighed and sat down near the den, only half-assed listening as she stared at her paws.

"Do you think Lionstar killed them?" Maplekit asked, not feeling scared anymore. I hope so, I wouldn't want any old cat teasing me! For once he felt some respect for the other kit, then immediately pushed it away. No, you won't trust Silentkit, never! But for some odd reason, the trust kept coming back. Why?!

Silentkit looked startled, "NO I DIDN'T MEAN THAT! WHAT I WAS ALSO GONNA SAY WAS THAT I SAW BERRYPAW GOING OUT WITH THEM!!!" Silentkit sat back down and played with the rock on the ground. "What I believe is...Berrypaw did something with that Bubblingbee.."

spiderpaw gave her a nod, keeping her eyes low. "Interesting indeed," she shrugged. "And from what I understand, it was due to Thunderclan's leader breaking an alliance between the two clan's in a poor fashion."

"Then that means Berrypaw killed them. Problem solved. Why would she do that? Because Bubblingbee probably teased her a lot..." That's when a thought struck Maplekit on the head like a large acorn. "This might sound stupid, but should we ask her? Or maybe even pressure her."

Lotuspaw noticed her mentor nearby. She seemed to be listening to the meeting. Maybe they could talk.
"Hello, Leopardblaze. How are you doing?" she asked quietly.

Leopardblaze flicked her ear at the sound of approaching footsteps, turning she saw her apprentice and gave her a warm smile. "I'm doing just fine. How are you Lotuspaw?"

Sparrowflame grumbled silently, begrudgingly stepping out of their nest to attend the meeting. What now... The calico found themselves a seat at the Streamstone and waited for whatever announcements they were rudely awoken for.

Cottonpaw watched all the kits, but one go up to Lionstar. The deaf tom felt happy for them, since they would be becoming apprentices. He remembered his own one. He was so excited. Cottonpaw was surprised at how many kits were becoming apprentices.

Sunkit knew that today was the day but for some reason, he wasn't that excited for it. He was still mourning for the loss of his father. Shaking his head the fiery tom walked up to the Streamstone with his head held high and ocean blue eyes trained on the golden feline. His apprentice was long overdue, two maybe three months? The tom height was at the leader's shoulder and it was obvious that he was no longer a kit with his fluffy patches of fur gone and his size.

Shimmeringpool turned her head to find Snowpaw by her side. "Snowpaw, hello to you too." The silver and white molly said back with a polite tone. The warrior was still trying to get over her shy/nervous state and to not stutter as much.

The warrior hummed, taking the apprentices penchant for babbling and sorting through the barrage of words calmly.

"Sorry, Spiderpaw...I'm not a particularly social cat. I don't think anything I could suggest would be much help." a self depreciating expression flashed across her features before she shook it away.

"But picking out a cat and simply introducing yourself sounds like a good start." she agreed. "Even your loud and energetic introduction is better than none, right?"

Dawncloud tilted her head then in thought as the topic changed back to the Thunderclan/Shadowclan issue.

"There was a gathering a few moons back that got into it. But it really boiled down to whatever Duskstar had said to Icestar to break the alliance offended her and her pride enough to warrant her wanting to attack Thunderclan in retaliation." She sighed then and furrowed her brow.

"And then Lionstar felt the need to hit Shadowclan back...And as much as I think a probmlem should be dealt with quickly and decisively, we really had no place to be part of their dispute. Cats were lost on both sides from all three on our clans." The blue molly shook her head then and turned back to Spiderpaw to give them a reassuring look.

"Things have been relatively quite after that though."

Isn't that a bit contradictory? Finchpaw asked herself silently. She tried letting a smile join her expression, but the fact that Cobaltshade was gone hit her hard, She'll come back soon enough the small apprentice told herself. Her face held little emotion as she looked up at her new temporary mentor.
Yes Sootclaw? her black fur was freshly groomed, as was habit after her morning runs, so it shone in the sunlight as Finchpaw waited for an answer

When Maplekit heard the question, he turned his eyes into slits. "You wanna approach some cat who threatened me pretty good after I threatened them really bad?" Just to make sure the kit wouldn't be confused, he added with a whisPURR, "I threatened to claw her nose off when I'm older. She said I would've been on the ground, bleeding."

It looked like everyone he called up-- minus the stupid baby who was no longer getting a ceremony-- stepped forward and Lionstar was prepared to continue.

But not before acknowledging Maplekit the whisperer. "I'm guessing some of you may be wondering why Maplekit is not standing with you today.

"It has come to my attention he got in a dispute with Berrypaw. While not an issue on its own.. in that disagreement, he threatened to attack her and apparently she threatened to leave him on the ground bleeding.

"I will not take threats lightly in my Clan, no matter how futuristic they may be. Because of this, Maplekit's ceremony is being pushed back until he learns to not be aggressive toward Clan-mates. And Berrypaw, I want you confined to camp for the next quarter-moon. During this time, you can focus your attention on tending to the nursery and to our elders'. If I hear a peep about you threatening another cat, it won't be apprentice duties you have to worry about!" He bared his teeth faintly at the two young cats. All things considered, they were getting off very lightly and should appreciate his choice in not being too harsh. As much as he wanted to be.

Lionstar returned his attention to the collection of young cats before him. Although he could start with those who came forward first.. he figured he should start with the one waiting the longest.

"Sunkit [ Shimm], your apprentice ceremony has been long overdue. From this moment forth, you will be known as Sunpaw. Goosefury [ Slushie], you fought valiantly in the raid and though your injuries were severe, you have recovered remarkably. I trust you will pass your courage and resilience onto Sunpaw." He paused for just a moment. "Sunpaw, I'll be honest with you. I was apprehensive about how you'd turn out after what happened with Dirtfur, but you have matured a lot since that day and I am proud to call you a Clan-mate."

Lionstar would give them a second to greet each other. "Goosefury, I understand if your injuries may impede some of your ability to train, and I expect you to seek assistance if you need it. There should be no reason as to why Sunpaw is held back any longer."

With his piece said on that, he moved on.

"Fernkit [ Flowstream], from this moment forth you will be known as F/ernpaw. Hollywatcher [ RainbowQuail], you are a hard-working and understanding warrior, and I trust you will pass your compassion onto F/ernpaw.

"Almondkit [ TeamInkBot], from this moment forth you will be known as Almondpaw. Frostflame [ Laser eyeballs], you've shown yourself to be friendly and I hope you pass your strengths onto Almondpaw." He didn't know this tom very well, but hoped it'd turn out fine.

"Dogkit [ Lynxpaw], from this moment forth you will be known as Dogpaw. Blazeclaw [ Quailsong], despite being a newer Clan-mate you have proven your dedication to RiverClan and I trust you will pass on your loyalty to Dogpaw.

"Dawnkit [ Dawneye]," Lionstar lingered on her name for just a moment. "From this moment you will be known as Dawnpaw. Nighttuft [ MagicCat99], as a former queen I trust you can pass on your compassion for all cats to Dawnpaw.. while also teaching her a lesson in discipline." He was still displeased with her behavior toward Bumblebelly and being confronted and hoped Nighttuft would help her see the error of her ways.

"Duskkit [ Stonewolf], from this moment forth you will be known as Duskpaw. Doefeather [ TeamRiverRipple], I know you have your work cut out for you with Cricketleap, but I trust taking on Duskpaw will be no challenge.

"Smokekit [ TeamRiverRipple], from this moment forth you will be known as Smokepaw. Raccoontail [ Pepperkins], perhaps you can take this opportunity to prove yourself to the Clan again after your disappearance. Smokepaw will be your apprentice.

"Turtlekit [ Socks], from this moment forth you will be known as Turtlepaw. Cloverwish [ CloverAndCoffee], you are another Clan-mate that has recently disappeared and although I was apprehensive about letting you back in, I hope Turtlepaw becoming your apprentice will give you a chance to redeem yourself as well.

"Curlkit [ Slushie], from this moment forth you will be known as Curlpaw. Nightclaw [ Splashpelt], you are a fierce and determined warrior and I trust you will pass your skills onto Curlpaw.

"Stormkit [ Pluto], from this moment forth you will be known as Stormpaw. Snowstripe [ Snowstripe], I know things didn't work out with Crabpaw but I hope Stormpaw will suit you better." He didn't know what went wrong with Crabpaw.. but Snowstripe seemed like a solid warrior to him, so he was willing to give her another shot.

"Beankit [ elysian], from this moment forth you will be known as Beanpaw. Grizzlybug [ Beau], since you did so well with catching Eveningpaw up on her training, I am assigning Beanpaw to be your apprentice. I heard he's taken a shine to you, anyway." It was hard to not notice several warriors stealing a kit from camp.

"And Silentkit [ Elementals], from this moment forth you will be known as Silentpaw. Driftblaze [ TeamInkBot] will be your mentor. Driftblaze, you are a strong and kind warrior, and I trust you will pass your skills onto Silentpaw."

Yeesh, that was a lot!! Lionstar was pretty sure he didn't miss anyone at least.

Time to let his voice rest while everyone met their new partner.

Goosefury may have arrived a little late to the meeting, but that didn't prevent him stopping in his tracks and his letting his jaw fall slack. An apprentice. He was getting an apprentice. Was Lionstar out of his mind? While he appreciated the praise, he was in no way fit to take on an apprentice!
No, just calm down. It's fine. You can do this. You WON'T need assistance. Still looking startled, he made his way over to Sunpaw to touch noses with him. "I'll do my best," he told him.

Curlkit was barely able to stop himself from leaping into the air like an excited baby, but he did move over to Nightclaw with obvious excitement in his step. "Hello," he meowed politely as he reached his new mentor.

Bumblebelly doubled in size as his charcoal pelt stood on end, completely puffed up in pride. Look at his all babies go! Look at them succeed at life! He tried to ignore the fact that it was not only two but now a third as well? Oh Bother.

"Turtlepaw, Turtlepaw, Turtlepaw!" He boomed out, utterly oozing pride for the kitten being promoted. "Smokepaw, Smokepaw, Smokepaw!"

By the end of this, he would surely be out of the breath but he wouldn't let a damn name be forgotten! Maybe one...

The last name he had to shout, his little heart breaking as he did so. It wasn't the first time he had called out this name, but the circumstances had been completely different. "Dogpaw, Dogpaw, Dogpaw."

Willowkit happily chanted out all the names of the newest apprentices. Wow would the nursery be empty now! She'd have to remember to congratulate some of her old den mates on their new names! Still what Lionstar said about maplekit... hmmm... food for thought for Willowkit.

Turtlekit was having her name changed? But, didn't she just get the name Turtlekit? Clans were so confusing, changing names all the time like this. She was Turtlepaw now, that'd take some getting used to. Turtlekit, as much as she liked the name, took some time for her to start responding to. At least this time it wasn't as much of a change as Patch was to Turtlekit. She wasn't quite sure what to be doing now, but the other newly named apprentices seemed to be eager to jump to whatever warrior they had been assigned to. To introduce themselves? Cloverwish wasn't a name she could put a face to yet, she could probably name only a pawful of her now clanmates as it was.
Turtlepaw looked around with a confused and frightful expression, hoping this Cloverwish would come to find her instead. Maybe she seemed weird not being as excitable or ready for this as her peers? She surely didn't want to seem strange to her new mentor. She heard a familiar voice of Bumblebelly cheering her new name and suppressed the urge to run to him for some comfort.

Peachpaw beamed, head-spinning while trying to remember all the names she was meant to cheer. "Sunpaw! Fernpaw! Almondpaw! Do- wait no- Daw- no, yeah - Dogpaw! Dawnpaw! Duskpaw!" She started stammering again, so many cats were being apprenticed, wow. "Um, Smokepaw! Turtlepaw! Curlpaw! Stormpaw! B-Beanpaw? Uh," Only one more, right? Who was she missing? Oh-- "Silentpaw!" The ginger patched apprentice huffed, cheering was exhausting and she had to do this every meeting. Wow.

Fawnsqueak lingered near the mouth of the medicine cat's den while the babies were promoted before he forced himself forward with bile rising in his throat to join the rest of the Clan. These things were so much easier before, and stars above, he was so very done with the plant nonsense. He hated that he knew the names, the uses, the proper method of chewing and applying -- it was resentment budding toward the cats that'd landed him here. Lionstar could've picked any of those babies standing up there instead, could've chosen a competent one to start with. Though.. he was on a roll with doing others' jobs for them recently, and Fawnsqueak was beginning to think he'd be better off to wait out Otterstone's dwindling mental health while he trained the next medicine cat, the perfect relief of duty.

Distracted, he pulled himself back to the ceremony but couldn't be bothered to listen as he zeroed in on that idiot Lionstar. A nasty curl of his lip hid in the corner of his mouth, gaze dark. He couldn't avoid him forever. They had to get it over with at some point, the inevitable fight because what else would they do? There was no civil answer with a solution doomed from the start.

Really, they were supposed to call the names 3 times, but since there were so many, Flyfur settled for once each apprentice. "DOGPAW, Almondpaw, Turtlepaw!, Beanpaw!" She had practically screeched Dogpaw's new name. Did it always feel this exhilarating when your children moved up in the ranks?
She had certainly felt so with the first and second batches of kittens.
"Stormpaw! Duskpaw! Dawnpaw! Smokepaw!" There were always too many kittens at any given time in the nursery but she always felt regret that the Apprentices Den seemed to never empty. It was always crowded.
"Fernpaw! Sunpaw! Curlpaw! Silentpaw?"


Kricketchirp stared at the cats around him. Was there always this much fuss over apprentices being named? "Erhhh, Stormki-paw; STORMPAW. Duskpaw! Beanpaw?? Dogpaw!" He honestly didn't remember the rest. Too many named to be bothered.

Dogpaw's eyes shone with pride and happiness. He searched for Blazeclaw, wanting to touch noses with his new mentor. He quickly searched the crowd of cats to see if Cloudkit was watching. Once he knew she wasn't there, he went back to trying to pick out his new mentor.

He padded toward his new apprentice and said “I’m excited to teach you there is so much you can learn” he touched noses with his apprentice and then sat down

She would fluff up a bit as she approached the large tom.
Even though this was the third time, it always made her a bit nervous.
The apprentice would lean up, and touch noses with him.
She'd nod a bit at his question, starting to calm down.

StonePaw would notice her mentor motioning.
The gray apprentice would look at where he was gesturing, flicking her ear in confusion.

Hickoryblaze felt her nose touch his, and he offered her a reassuring smile. She was his fourth apprentice, and honestly, this got old after a while. Couldn't they switch it up a little? Tap heads, paws, anything else? Things needed to get original around here or he'd get seriously burdened by boredom. The she-cat seemed to be anything but a sass-bag, more on the quiet side, which though it was slightly dissapointing, wasn't a problem at all. It just meant he could get this over with faster. Besides, she looked like she was also pretty much done with all the mentor swaps.
"Well, Stonepaw. How do you feel? You ready for a quick asessment?" He asked, waving his tail in her direction in an almost teasing gesture. She looked confused by his previous gesturing, so he just chuckled softly and murmured a quick 'she's my mate', as per usual.

Slightly huffing, the tom wrapped his tail around her as he sat beside her " we'll get to training after this k? No more delays" . His head jerked at goosefuries and Dirtfur s name. Sun paw? Huh...never heard. Smiling "congrats goosey!" all of them had apprentices now! To him that was amazing. "Wow...that's a lot of new apprentices ain't it?" he said as he looked down at her.

Raccoontail looked up in shock as her named was called. She had kinda zoned out so when she zoned back in it was a huge surprise. Lionstar trusted her with an apprentice already??? Her eyes filled with joy and she looked up to him thankfully though he probably couldn't see her anyways. It was a chance to prove she could be a good warrior! She hurriedly jumped up, searching the crowd for her new apprentice, Smokepaw was it? As she walked around, in her excitement its uncountable how many tails she stepped on or paws she almost tripped over. At one point she almost walked smack dad into a cat but managed to catch herself quickly. Even in joy she was still a clumsy mess.

Duskpaw's pelt prickled with excitement as Lionstar went through all of the cats that were becoming apprentices or getting a new mentor. When Dawnpaw was called, he heard Lionstar wait for a moment before continuing. Wow, she got a former queen as an apprentice! That's cool!

Duskpaw's eyes were huge as Lionstar called him. He looked at him, his gaze fixed on him, eager to hear who his mentor was. He looked around at the cats as he heard his mentor's name called. Doefeather? Who's that? He looked around and called out, "Doefeather? Where are you?"

The deputy waited quietly as Lionstar called off all the names, tail flicking absently with every new apprentice that stepped forward to meet their mentors. When all of them had been assigned, Sootflare joined the chorus of congratulations.

Snowstripe looked up at Lionstar kinda surprised that they picked her to mentor Stormpaw. She got up from where she sat and walked to go find her new apprentice. Thinking to herself "I wont mess up this time." The snow bengel warrior looked around and waited for Stormpaw. While she waited she chanted with the rest of the clan. "Sunpaw, Fernpaw, Almondpaw, Dogpaw, Dawnpaw, Duskpaw, Smokepaw, Turtlepaw, Curlpaw, Stormpaw, Silentpaw!" Pluto

Dawncloud happily joined into te congratulatory cheering for the young new apprentices.

Goosefury may have arrived a little late to the meeting, but that didn't prevent him stopping in his tracks and his letting his jaw fall slack. An apprentice. He was getting an apprentice. Was Lionstar out of his mind? While he appreciated the praise, he was in no way fit to take on an apprentice!
No, just calm down. It's fine. You can do this. You WON'T need assistance. Still looking startled, he made his way over to Sunpaw to touch noses with him. "I'll do my best," he told him.

Curlkit was barely able to stop himself from leaping into the air like an excited baby, but he did move over to Nightclaw with obvious excitement in his step. "Hello," he meowed politely as he reached his new mentor.

Finally! Nightclaw pads up to her apprentice and whispers "You're doing great." She smiles fondly. The warrior turns away from Curlpaw and stalks away to sit by a few other warriors. "Turtlepaw, Turtlepaw, Turtlepaw! Smokepaw, Smokepaw, Smokepaw! Sunpaw, Sunpaw, Sunpaw! Fernpaw, Fernpaw, Fernpaw!" Nightclaw takes a sharp breath of air and continues chanting. "Beanpaw, Beanpaw, Beanpaw! Silentpaw, Silentpaw, Silentpaw! Stormpaw, Stormpaw, Stormpaw!" She says her new apprentice's name louder then the rest. "Curlpaw, Curlpaw, Curlpaw! Duskpaw, Duskpaw, Duskpaw! Almondpaw, Almondpaw, Almondpaw! Dogpaw, Dogpaw, Dogpaw!"
So many new apprentices! And she had finally gotten one.

Grizzlybug widened his eyes when his name was called after Beanpaw’s and he nearly bounced in delight. This would be perfect! The fluffy tom trotted to the front of the crowd and stopped before the newly named Beanpaw, eyes twinkling merrily.

“Congratulations, kid,” he murmured as he leaned down to touch noses.

The large warrior couldn’t hold back a grin as he touched his nose to Beanpaw’s and he stood up with a giddy shake of his fluff.

“Thank you, Lionstar!”

His voice was soft since he was already close to the stream stone and he didn’t want to disrupt the meeting, but he wanted to let the leader know how much it meant to him that he’d been observing the two together and decided to make them mentor and apprentice. Grizzlybug has never been happier to be in Riverclan than in that moment.

“C’mon,” he meowed to Beanpaw, bounding back to where he’d been sitting.

“I promise to be the best mentor for you! We can get started right away when this meeting is done and I’ll show you the territory!”

Oh, boy. Harepaw thought . Look at all the people who had become apprentices. The den will be crowded, he thought as he cheered the names of the new apprentices. He especially liked Dogpaw for some reason; he wasn't born in the clan, and Harepaw had an interest to all the cats that weren't born to the clan.

It looked like everyone he called up-- minus the stupid baby who was no longer getting a ceremony-- stepped forward and Lionstar was prepared to continue.

But not before acknowledging Maplekit the whisperer. "I'm guessing some of you may be wondering why Maplekit is not standing with you today.

"It has come to my attention he got in a dispute with Berrypaw. While not an issue on its own.. in that disagreement, he threatened to attack her and apparently she threatened to leave him on the ground bleeding.

"I will not take threats lightly in my Clan, no matter how futuristic they may be. Because of this, Maplekit's ceremony is being pushed back until he learns to not be aggressive toward Clan-mates. And Berrypaw, I want you confined to camp for the next quarter-moon. During this time, you can focus your attention on tending to the nursery and to our elders'. If I hear a peep about you threatening another cat, it won't be apprentice duties you have to worry about!" He bared his teeth faintly at the two young cats. All things considered, they were getting off very lightly and should appreciate his choice in not being too harsh. As much as he wanted to be.

Lionstar returned his attention to the collection of young cats before him. Although he could start with those who came forward first.. he figured he should start with the one waiting the longest.

"Sunkit [ Shimm], your apprentice ceremony has been long overdue. From this moment forth, you will be known as Sunpaw. Goosefury [ Slushie], you fought valiantly in the raid and though your injuries were severe, you have recovered remarkably. I trust you will pass your courage and resilience onto Sunpaw." He paused for just a moment. "Sunpaw, I'll be honest with you. I was apprehensive about how you'd turn out after what happened with Dirtfur, but you have matured a lot since that day and I am proud to call you a Clan-mate."

Lionstar would give them a second to greet each other. "Goosefury, I understand if your injuries may impede some of your ability to train, and I expect you to seek assistance if you need it. There should be no reason as to why Sunpaw is held back any longer."

With his piece said on that, he moved on.

"Fernkit [ Flowstream], from this moment forth you will be known as Fernpaw. Hollywatcher [ RainbowQuail], you are a hard-working and understanding warrior, and I trust you will pass your compassion onto Fernpaw.

"Almondkit [ TeamInkBot], from this moment forth you will be known as Almondpaw. Frostflame [ Laser eyeballs], you've shown yourself to be friendly and I hope you pass your strengths onto Almondpaw." He didn't know this tom very well, but hoped it'd turn out fine.

"Dogkit [ Lynxpaw], from this moment forth you will be known as Dogpaw. Blazeclaw [ Quailsong], despite being a newer Clan-mate you have proven your dedication to RiverClan and I trust you will pass on your loyalty to Dogpaw.

"Dawnkit [ Dawneye]," Lionstar lingered on her name for just a moment. "From this moment you will be known as Dawnpaw. Nighttuft [ MagicCat99], as a former queen I trust you can pass on your compassion for all cats to Dawnpaw.. while also teaching her a lesson in discipline." He was still displeased with her behavior toward Bumblebelly and being confronted and hoped Nighttuft would help her see the error of her ways.

"Duskkit [ Stonewolf], from this moment forth you will be known as Duskpaw. Doefeather [ TeamRiverRipple], I know you have your work cut out for you with Cricketleap, but I trust taking on Duskpaw will be no challenge.

"Smokekit [ TeamRiverRipple], from this moment forth you will be known as Smokepaw. Raccoontail [ Pepperkins], perhaps you can take this opportunity to prove yourself to the Clan again after your disappearance. Smokepaw will be your apprentice.

"Turtlekit [ Socks], from this moment forth you will be known as Turtlepaw. Cloverwish [ CloverAndCoffee], you are another Clan-mate that has recently disappeared and although I was apprehensive about letting you back in, I hope Turtlepaw becoming your apprentice will give you a chance to redeem yourself as well.

"Curlkit [ Slushie], from this moment forth you will be known as Curlpaw. Nightclaw [ Splashpelt], you are a fierce and determined warrior and I trust you will pass your skills onto Curlpaw.

He didn't know what went wrong with Crabpaw.. but Snowstripe seemed like a solid warrior to him, so he was willing to give her another shot.

Grizzlybug [ Beau], since you did so well with catching Eveningpaw up on her training, I am assigning Beanpaw to be your apprentice. I heard he's taken a shine to you, anyway." It was hard to not notice several warriors stealing a kit from camp.

"And Silentkit [ Elementals], from this moment forth you will be known as Silentpaw. Driftblaze [ TeamInkBot] will be your mentor. Driftblaze, you are a strong and kind warrior, and I trust you will pass your skills onto Silentpaw."

Yeesh, that was a lot!! Lionstar was pretty sure he didn't miss anyone at least.

Time to let his voice rest while everyone met their new partner.

Hivekit's tail drooped at the thought. She, Splotch, and Patch had been together for so long!

She was honestly excited to have an apprentice. It meant that she’d have someone to talk to and teach! Priorities. One of those made Hollywatcher disappointed in herself but she wasn’t going to dwell on that.

Beankit — no, Beanpaw’s nervousness dissolved at once. He was with Grizzlybug! He was nearly frozen, that was how shocked he was. The siamese looked around as Grizz came to him, touched his nose, and spoke to him. He wasn’t sure what the whole nose thing was about, but he’d go with it. Anyway, this was great! He nearly bounced back to where Grizzlybug — his mentor — was sitting. This was all so amazing! "Yes!" he exclaimed quietly, feeling almost giddy.

She stood still momentarily, trying to remember what apprentices do, before quickly touching noses with Snowstripe and looking away sheepishly. The young apprentice was still catching up with all of the clans traditions and such. “I do my best, I promise!” Stormpaw said, barely refraining from bouncing around her new mentor.

Snowstripe smiled and touched noses with Stormpaw. The she cat smiled and sat down again. "What would you like to do first?" Snowstripe asked since she wasnt really the bossy type of mentor.

Bumblebellys heart broke as he watched the trio become separated. His girls, all broken up... Rather unfair in his eyes. "Well," Bumblebelly looped a paw gently around her, pulling yjr smaller cat into the comfort of his fluff, "It just means you've got some extra time to work on it! If anything you'll have an advantage, you'll come into your apprenticeship with more knowledge!" He couldn't think of a better way to cheer her up, his heart aching for her. Bumblebelly gently licked her head, tufting up the fur. "Come on, let's go work on making you the best possible kit we can!"

Smokepaw sighed, eyes narrowed. She was stuck with a traitor. What a great study opportunity, and joy would rain from this cats eyeballs. Smokepaw hoped Lionstar would see sense and demote her, so she could be with Hivekit again.

Snowpaw raised her voice, "Sunpaw! Fernpaw! Dogpaw! Dawnpaw! Smokepaw! Duskpaw! Almondpaw! Curlpaw! Stormpaw! Turtlepaw! Beanpaw! Silentpaw!" she took in a deep breath after chanting all of the new apprentices names. There were so many new 'paws now!

Grizzlybug purred at Beanpaw’s excitement and wrapped his tail around the young tom once they sat down. They already had a friendly relationship far early than other mentor and apprentice pairs and he couldn’t wait to start training.

The fluffy tom saw Eveningpaw arriving and purred warmly at her with a wide grin. Balancing on his haunches and using his front paws to reach out, he tried to snatch her into a modified hug in which he could teasingly rub the top of her head with a paw.

“Ah, my soon to be warrior! You did great, kid! I can’t wait to be the first to yell out your warrior name. Do you think today is the day?”

At this point, he would’ve released her if he had managed to catch her in the first place. He threw a wink at the feline and looked from her to Beanpaw with happiness exuding out of every pore. In fact, Grizzlybug was so pumped that his fur was fluffed up- making him look like a bush. He may have only known them for a short time, but he felt like Eveningpaw and Beanpaw were his kids! He was so proud of both of them.

Suddenly, Grizz paused. Did he want kits? The tom shook his head and grinned again- that was a realization for another time.

Beanpaw jumped as he heard an unfamiliar voice. They seemed friendly, so he listened and nodded along with a "Yeah," and a smile. He was still feeling his heart pounding, except now it wasn’t out of fear. It was actually a great feeling. He scooted a bit to the side in order to get out of the way of Grizzlybug’s "hug", and couldn’t help but giggle a bit. He’d noticed that Grizz was looking fluffier than usual, and decided to say softly, as to not interrupt the meeting, "You look like a bush, Grizz!" He pawed at a bit of the long fur, smiling.

Berrypaw was a little taken aback as Lionstar called her and Maplekit out in front of the whole clan. She was suddenly angered, but not at the leader. No, she was angry with Maplekit. That damn mouse-brain must have snitched on her. Scanning the cats, she found the stupid idiot in the crowd, and sneered at him. She wanted to go over and give him a piece of her mind, or maybe even tease him about getting held back while his sister became an apprentice. But she couldn't do or say anything. Nope, she was going to try to avoid him at all costs now. If she slipped up like that again, she knew she'd likely be getting something far worse than apprentice duties for a quarter moon. And so, trying to calm herself back down, she focused back on the ceremonies currently happening. She'd have to act extra cheery now, to try and reinforce her disguise. Listening to all the new apprentices, she called out each of their names. "Sunpaw! Fernpaw!! Almondpaw! Dogpaw! Dawnpaw! Duskpaw! Smokepaw! Turtlepaw! Curlpaw! Stormpaw! Beanpaw! Silentpaw!!" The molly cheered out for Fernpaw and Silentpaw louder than the rest, letting her gaze linger on the two of them. She was quite fond of them both, and was glad they were sharing a den now. Perhaps, since they were apprentices now, she could attempt to bring them into the Dark Forest with her. Mmm, yes. She would attempt that tonight. Focusing back on the streamstone, she waited for the next part of the meeting to commence.

Plus Goosefurry got a warrior, that was cool, he wasn't much older then her and she knew him.
With a smile beaming on her muzzle she sat back down quiet pleased with herself. Maybe it would give other cats some encouragement.

Almondbush stared up at Lionstar listening to all of the words he said. He looked at all of the new apprentices. He didn't know how to feel about them. He wasn't usually a cat who paid much attention. He loved kits, but he wasn't sure if they liked him.

Duskpaw was still looking frantically around for the warrior called Doefeather when he heard someone call to him. He saw a warrior she-cat calling to him. He sighed in relief and padded over to his mentor. He saw some other apprentices touch noses with their mentor, so he stretched forward and touched noses with her. He smiled as he heard her energy.

Duskpaw smiled, his pale yellow eyes bright with excitement. "What are we going to do first?" he asked the molly. "I already know how to swim!" he informed her. He puffed out his chest proudly as he looked at Doefeather. "I want to learn as much as I can!"

Coastpaw's eyes opened wide as Lionstar rattled off ceremonies for a bunch of new apprentices, amazed he remembered them all. He struggled to chant all of their names along with eh rest of the clan, trying to not miss any or mess any of them up. There were so many it honestly just sounded like a jumble of words being chanted to him.

Doefeather whirled around, waving her tail as a signal for Duskpaw to follow er through the crowd. "Cricketchirp~" She mewed, voice light and sing-song. "I've got another friend to join us in training!"

[CENTER]His ears shot up in surprise as Lionstar made him into an apprentice first. Not wanting to wait any longer the fiery tom gave a grateful nod with his head and turned to Goosefury. Ocean blue eyes watched as his mentor padded up and touched noses with him. "Of course you will. I want the best mentor to teach me how to become the best warrior." Was his response cocky? Yes, but Sunpaw had been waiting so long to become a warrior. Turning to look at the crowd the apprentice's gaze met his former best friends and a flicker of excitement that they will be learning side by side.

Light blue eyes wide in shock the warrior whipped her head to Berrypaw as Lionstar made it known that she would be confined to camp for the next moon. It seemed so unreal that this was happening, the Berrypaw she knew was bubbly and happy not cold-hearted and threatening to hurt kits. Fear struck deep into her heart as she was now second-guessing her apprentice's nature. She'll grow out of it... Fawnsqueaks and Wormbites advice rang in her head. Puddle~

Goosefury's ears flicked back, and anxiety sparked in his eye. He drew back to sit next to his new apprentice, all sense of pride replaced by an itching nervousness. Duskpaw was a little surprised at how much Doefeather seemed to prize the moment when they touched noses. Is it really that important? he wondered. He hadn't heard anything about it being super important from Dawnpaw. Maybe it's something that every kit is supposed to know, so she didn't think I needed to know! Duskpaw had only joined the clan a month ago, so he didn't know everything about it yet.

Duskpaw was surprised again when she said that they would start training now. Now? But what about the rest of the meeting? He tilted his head as she said Cricketchirp. That's a warrior name? Why is a warrior training? He wondered if every apprentice trained with two cats instead of one. He followed the molly through the ground, interested about who this new cat was. He smiled when he heard Doefeather's singsong voice.

There was a time and place for everything, and it wasn't in the middle of a Clan meeting.

"We have a very unusual ceremony today!

"Frankly, I've never been given the opportunity to do this because the other cats I demoted have an unfortunate habit of disappearing instead of trying to improve, so I'm especially proud to announce one of our demoted warriors is ready to receive their warrior rank once again. They have worked hard to improve their behavior, and I trust the judgement of the cat assigned to guide them.

"Mossypaw [ Shimm], please come forward."

The calico toms ears shot up in surprise as his name was called up, he was becoming a warrior again? Mossypaw got up from sitting in the middle of the crowd and excused his way through. Climbing up to the Streamstone Mossypaw puffed out his chest and raised his chin high. He was ready to become a warrior again.

"Mossypaw," Lionstar actually took a moment to savor his name.

"I'll be honest, I didn't think you'd pull it off after the meltdown you had when I last spoke to you. But, it appears you've recognized your mistake with Flowerpaw and have worked to better yourself from that, and I appreciate your diligence in proving yourself to be warrior material.

"Because of this, I believe you are due for a new name. From this moment on, you will be known as Mossyrose [ Shimm]. You may still have thorns, Mossyrose, but you have blossomed from the asshole that stood below me a couple moons ago, and I'm proud to see you've taken control of your life once more."

With some mild amusement, he included: "You weren't wrong about Flowerpaw being difficult. Fortunately for us, she is no longer our problem as she decided she couldn't handle being told what to do and left. If you see her, feel free to knock her around the head a few times. I think that's the least you deserve after the headache she helped cause." Or kill her, he didn't care.

Once again, he'd allow a brief intermission before he moved onto the next ceremony. Although he wished.. more cats qualified, he was pretty certain he could only account for one new warrior this meeting.

"Sorry, Spiderpaw...I'm not a particularly social cat. I don't think anything I could suggest would be much help." a self depreciating expression flashed across her features before she shook it away.

"But picking out a cat and simply introducing yourself sounds like a good start." she agreed. "Even your loud and energetic introduction is better than none, right?"

Dawncloud tilted her head then in thought as the topic changed back to the Thunderclan/Shadowclan issue.

"There was a gathering a few moons back that got into it. But it really boiled down to whatever Duskstar had said to Icestar to break the alliance offended her and her pride enough to warrant her wanting to attack Thunderclan in retaliation." She sighed then and furrowed her brow.

"And then Lionstar felt the need to hit Shadowclan back...And as much as I think a probmlem should be dealt with quickly and decisively, we really had no place to be part of their dispute. Cats were lost on both sides from all three on our clans." The blue molly shook her head then and turned back to Spiderpaw to give them a reassuring look.

"Things have been relatively quite after that though."


"'ya think that kind of introduction would work?? ah, well i guess i'll never really know until i test it out! thanks for the advice, dawncloud!" she exclaimed, coming to the conclusion that she had to start somewhere, and what better place to start than by being herself? that's right; there was no better place to start.

hmmm, she wondered. "ah, of course. pride. tis' a fragile thing," spiderpaw commented, imitating an oldy elder voice. spiderpaw understood the whole thing, kind of. alliance broken, pride broken, attack taken. it seemed like that was all there was to it. what she didn't understand was why riverclan got involved.

she listened to dawncloud's next few sentences. oh, so she agreed--why'd riverclan get wrapped up in that mess? the apprentice was a bit confused, but she shrugged it off- it didn't matter now, it didn't really have anything to do with her. if that was what lionstar had deemed appropriate, she wouldn't question his choice, however questionable it appeared to be. "i'm glad it's all settled now, i guess," the cat said, "though things never really settle, from what i remember."

spiderpaw took a pause. she was running out of sentences to say and words to use. man, keeping conversations going sometimes was difficult, unless you were talking to the right person. "so.. what's your favorite type of prey? you can tell a lot about someone from their favorite food, y'know," spiderpaw said, not realizing that she was completely straying from any related topics. food was always a great distraction.

"wait, actually, no, don't answer that. well, you can answer that if you really want to, but you don't have to answer that, because i have another question. what do you like to do? i know that kind of sounds general and all, but i mean, i guess i should start learning about you because i'm going to be talking to you a lot. maybe. probably. actually wait, don't answer that question either, i have a different question. if you had any one big goal, what would it be? like, if you could accomplish any one thing, what would make you feel most complete?? i mean, i would never really know how to answer that question," spiderpaw rambled on and on, taking only quick, short breaths in between groups of words. half of her words were practically inaudible because of this- spiderpaw could only hope that dawncloud understood what she was trying to say.

before letting dawncloud answer anything, spiderpaw continued a bit of the chanting for the new warrior. afterwards, she looked expectantly at her mentor, prompting her for an answer.

That'd be great! Finchpaw answered with a light smile. This will take some getting used to the apprentice thought, noting how different Sootclaw was from Cobaltshade. He seemed nice, but was also the friend of her enemy. Though, she could admit her and Wormbite being enemies was quite petty, and her fault, now she just tried to avoid the Tom as much as she could. Finchpaw heard Lionstar speak her friends name, looks like he's a warrior, again, enjoyed that Mossypaw had gotten his new name, and regained his previous ranks, Finchpaw called out his name, " Mossyrose, Mossyrose, Mossyrose!"

Lightpaw joined in the cheering "Mossyrose! Mossyrose! Mossyrose!" Yet her mind was only half paying attention to the ceremony still at hand. Instead her eyes were watching Sunpaw who had spoken to his mentor and had seemingly settled down. Was that eye contact he'd made beforehand? Did Sunpaw want to talk to her? Lightpaw felt like a bad friend for not visiting him after her apprentice ceremony. But as the cheering for Mossyrose died down she decided to put her bad decisions from her past behind her and talk to him anyway. She slid up to the tom, still paling in size comparison. She was officially six moons old now, but still was really tiny. "Congratulations Sunpaw." She purred. "It must feel super nice to hear that finally."

After giving Mossyrose a moment, Lionstar went on.

"We have another ceremony taking place today, but before I go into that I want to make a quick announcement.

"While I intended on the tournament to be a final assessment for a couple of our apprentices, only one passed it.

To say Lionstar was surprised Eveningpaw caught up so quickly would be an understatement.

But his thoughts were for another time as he awaited her approach. Punctuality was important for this and he hoped she hadn't forgotten that in her absence.

"Mossyrose! Mossyrose!" the molly chanted as she paused her search for her apprentice to congratulate the new-ish warrior. She was sure she would find Smoke paw after the meeting, it was no worry.

"'ya think that kind of introduction would work?? ah, well i guess i'll never really know until i test it out! thanks for the advice, dawncloud!" she exclaimed, coming to the conclusion that she had to start somewhere, and what better place to start than by being herself? that's right; there was no better place to start.

hmmm, she wondered. "ah, of course. pride. tis' a fragile thing," spiderpaw commented, imitating an oldy elder voice. spiderpaw understood the whole thing, kind of. alliance broken, pride broken, attack taken. it seemed like that was all there was to it. what she didn't understand was why riverclan got involved.

she listened to dawncloud's next few sentences. oh, so she agreed--why'd riverclan get wrapped up in that mess? the apprentice was a bit confused, but she shrugged it off- it didn't matter now, it didn't really have anything to do with her. if that was what lionstar had deemed appropriate, she wouldn't question his choice, however questionable it appeared to be. "i'm glad it's all settled now, i guess," the cat said, "though things never really settle, from what i remember."

spiderpaw took a pause. she was running out of sentences to say and words to use. man, keeping conversations going sometimes was difficult, unless you were talking to the right person. "so.. what's your favorite type of prey? you can tell a lot about someone from their favorite food, y'know," spiderpaw said, not realizing that she was completely straying from any related topics. food was always a great distraction.

"wait, actually, no, don't answer that. well, you can answer that if you really want to, but you don't have to answer that, because i have another question. what do you like to do? i know that kind of sounds general and all, but i mean, i guess i should start learning about you because i'm going to be talking to you a lot. maybe. probably. actually wait, don't answer that question either, i have a different question. if you had any one big goal, what would it be? like, if you could accomplish any one thing, what would make you feel most complete?? i mean, i would never really know how to answer that question," spiderpaw rambled on and on, taking only quick, short breaths in between groups of words. half of her words were practically inaudible because of this- spiderpaw could only hope that dawncloud understood what she was trying to say.

before letting dawncloud answer anything, spiderpaw continued a bit of the chanting for the new warrior. afterwards, she looked expectantly at her mentor, prompting her for an answer.

Spiderpaw talked a mile a minute and maybe that sometimes made her hard to understand. She asked one question after another before she could even give an answer to the first and as annoying as that could probably be...Dawncloud enjoyed it. She liked the apprentices energy. Where she was calm and quiet, Spiderpaw was energetic and loud. And some times those kinds of opposites just worked. She'd always liked more talkative cats, it gave her time to listen and she was good at listening more than demanding things.

When the brown tabby finally well and truly exhausted herself and paused to catch her breath, the amber eyed warrior chuckled in good nature and pat the apprentice on the back as she sorted through the barrage of questions and information. She hummed.

"Lets see...I like vole and small fish and I like to listen to my clan mates and cat watch, and getting up early." she started. But the last question left her a bit speechless. One goal, anything she could accomplish.

The smile on her muzzle froze as she stared at the ground and thought of the queen that wasn't really her mother, resenting having to care for a replacement kit, her unanswered parentage. Does she even have siblings? Why was she just dumped on the boarder?

Dawncloud exhaled. Her one goal and greatest want in life was a thing she didn't see right to dump on her apprentice when it was an inncent enough question. Just another loaded one.

Spiderpaw appeared pretty good at picking out questions, thinking on it, that could come in handy when she's older.

Ah...but she does need to answer the last question asked. And Dawncloud was honest to a fault, but perhaps not the whole heavy truth should be laid bare.

"I suppose...The one thing I want the most to accomplish to feel complete...is to know who my parents are." she answered carefully.

"Now, right back at you, Spiderpaw," she shook away her meloncholy to face the tabby and steer away from herself for a time. "Favorite food, what do you like to do, and a goal you want to accomplish?"

softpaw's ears flattened a bit, "you were still brave..I mean you could have easily run away, but instead you chose to stay and fight to protect a clan-mate unable to fight.." Softpaw perked up with a smile, "if anything you won that fight, they had to use four warriors against you and thats not fair..that also means they are pretty weak for doing that and you were strong to fight on your own till help could arrive." She purred.

He gave a silent cheer for mossyrose, which he found as a cute name. Though his ears flicked at this part. He was interested in what was gonna happen next . "meet me at the island after this . " he whispered only to part ways a And take his own spot. He figured she had enough of him, for now.

Eveningpaw heard her name called and took a slow deep breath before leaving Grizzlybug’s side and heading forward, forcing herself to hold her head high. She felt her hind legs shaking slightly, but she forced it to not be noticeable. She was aware that she was ready to be a warrior, but she wasn’t ready to defend her clan with her life, but she wouldn’t say anything about it out loud. She’d make herself say it, and she trusted Grizzlybug would be the one to say her name first.

Thé dilute torbie kitten was far more adventurous than his siblings, liked to consider himself braver too. Though there wasn’t actually any way to tell. So naturally when his father failed to explain exactly why they were here he thought it was best to discover himself. There was many cats here, lots of different scents, things and others to look at. Nobody seemed to pay him much mind considering he was basically invisible, it was good to be unseen. He’d go for the most part un questioned that way. Stingkit managed to make his way out of the nursery. (He’d overheard the dens special name) and was on his way to a larger gathering of cats.

Above them was a golden cat.. couldn’t quite tell their gender yet since it was bright and his eyesight overall wasn’t that good yet. He waddled closer dipping between pairs of legs until he was decently close enough to hear the speaking. Most of it didn’t make sense, however he’d have to ask Bumble later. The little kitten had gathered words that he had overheard over the past few days to hopefully get a better understanding of his current situation. Tuckered our from the journey the tom plopped down among the other cats and tried to listen up as best he could.

Grizzlybug turned to Beanpaw with a smile and a snort and rubbed his paw over Beanpaw’s head and back to fluff up the apprentice’s fur.

“There, now I’m not the only one!”

Giggling to himself at how silly the pair of them must look, Grizz scrunched up his nose and stuck his tongue out at his apprentice in a move that might have been looked at as immature but Grizz chose to see as fun. He then moved to pull the younger cat closer, not wanting him to feel left out as he hyped up Eveningpaw. Speaking of which, when the she-cat’s name was called, Grizzlybug gasped over dramatically and turned to Eveningpaw with widened eyes.

”It’s tiiiiiime!”

His lowered voice came out in a dramatic sing-song tone and he winked at her with a proud smile.

“Go get ‘em kiddo!”

Once Eveningpaw was far enough a way and closer to the center of the ceremony, where she would receive her new name, Grizzlybug hollered,

“Go Eveningpaw!”

He’d noticed the younger cat seemed a little hesitant- which was normal for such an important moment- and he hoped his silly call reminded her that at least one cat was rooting for her. And Beanpaw- he was Grizzlybug’s new apprentice which meant he had to be on Eveningpaw’s side, Grizz had decided in his head even though the younger tom didn’t know Eveningpaw. As the almost-warrior stopped before Lionstar, Grizzlybug leaned forward, entirely prepared the yell her new name.

Kricketchirp looked up as Doefeather called his name as she approached. He glanced at the other apprentice and slowly bowed his head to both of them as a greeting.
Finally, a somewhat familiar face that wasnt howling ontop of a rock. "Does Lionstar often assign two cats to a warrior?" He tilted his head to the side.
Yes, Lionstar had allowed him to join under a warrior name but that didn't change that he was essentially an apprentice here, learning the ways of these oddballs and partaking in training and helping with the chores.
Yes, he was a grown cat but perhaps because Doefeather isn't teaching him from scratch that Lionstar saw for to give her a second apprentice. A real apprentice.
Oh, well. He'd wait for her answer anyway.

Lilytail padded into the clearing and sat down, knowing she was late but not really caring. Her fur was ungroomed, and her head felt fuzzy. Gingerpaw got himself to the meeting very, very, late as it appeared. He walked in and ploffed down just in time to catch the part about Mossypaw- a ppearantly Mossyrose now. "Mossyrose, Mossyrose, Mossyrose" the apprentice muttured out a bit drowsily, it was needless to say from that he had been sleeping before getting here. He eventually lay down, gaze averting but coming back to linger to the Streamstones direction when words were spoken once more. It was no surprise that only one passed it, really, some of those apprentices didn't even seem to understand the words "be quiet", but atleast there appeared to be one warrior ceremony, which, he had to admit, was nice.

Finchpaw nodded at his words, disliking the thought of having to go near the water, but still filled with anticipation. Her black fur prickled at the cold air that was left in Sootclaw's place. Eveningpaw? Isn't she the former Skyclan warrior, that always seemed distant? Finchpaw had noticed the apprentice before, never really hanging with the others of her rank, rarely hanging out with anyone. So two new warriors, that was good. And I'll be one soon enough, as long as Sootclaw can keep up my training the older apprentice thought to herself

There was something off about Eveningpaw as she came forward but Lionstar couldn't quite place his paw on it. Hmm, he might have to tell Sootflare to keep an eye on her and find out why she had a strangeness about her.

"When you came to me a moon or so ago, I was iffy on allowing you to join RiverClan. You were significantly behind on your training and had a history of disloyalty toward your leader.. I can't help but wonder what Grouseheart would think if he saw you now." The old tom had been very forgiving, but if Lionstar had been her leader he would have been furious about her abandonment.

"I hope you understand, Eveningpaw, that even though your training may be over.. I expect you to continue being a productive member of RiverClan."

Lionstar would let these words settle before he resumed.

"I, Lionstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard and well to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.

"Eveningpaw [ Zesty Mango], do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend RiverClan even at the cost of your own life?"

Eveningpaw let the words of Lionstar sink in. So he doesn’t trust me yet. Why would I stop being productive now that I’m becoming a warrior? This was it, this was the two words she felt hesitant about saying, but she wouldn’t let herself show that fear, taking a long breath she confidently meowed,” I do“ unless Skyclan ever returns, then I’m rejoining Skyclan. She silently thought holding her head high. Waiting to receive her warrior name and hear the chant from Grizzlybug and Ivyshine, the cats she was closest to.

“Hey Silentpaw! Ready to start training?” Driftblaze greeted the apprentice Elementals

Silentpaw nodded his head and followed his mentor to where ever they were planning to be. He wondered what his warrior name would be after he was done being an apprentice. The only things he knew how to do was grab tiny minnows and swim in the river. He had attempted to catch fish but he always failed but one time he got lucky and managed to get one some how. Silentpaw hoped that he would be able to learn new skills from Driftblaze.

Maplekut looked surprised... and it was genuine, too. Well, I've got no one else at this point. I guess I will... "Sure, " he answered in a dull reply. But, he actually trusted this kit now. For once, he trusted someone other than his sister.


Elementals

Silentpaw just had his apprentice ceremony and sat with Maplekit who was still a kit. Silentpaw planned how he should bond with Maplekit. He was glad that now he was in the same rank with one of is friends but it would be weird to be in a different rank than Maplekit. "So, since my mentor is on a patrol right now, what would you like to do? Do you want to see how I make my nest or something or should we do something fun." Silentpaw was itching to make his nest in the apprentice's den but if Maplekit wished to do something else, that would be okay. Just as long as we are both friends it will be okay, he thought.

[Puddle~]

Berrypaw wasn't exactly paying attention to the ceremony currently going on. She had caught the fact that it was for Eveningpaw or something, but that was about it. Instead, she had been focusing on a particular conversation going on a few tail-lengths away. It seemed that Silentpaw had managed to successfully befriend Maplekit. The young molly smiled. It was all working out. But, she wasn't about to interrupt right now or Maplekit might grow suspicious, change his mind, and decide to leave. She'd just have to wait and speak to Silentpaw about everything later. Turning her attention back to the meeting, she waited for the ceremony and anything else in store to be over so she could meet her friend in the apprentices' den.

He squinted his eyes, Berrypaw? Wasn't that.. Nope. Nope. His sister was mature and could handle herself. He did not need to be worried about a possible murder baby. Nope... Unless?

Wormbite lift his wounded paw up to give it a lick, lately his wounds had been starting.. ache. He was starting to regret the fact he didn't receive treatment while Coyotesnarl was still here. He closed his eyes briefly, chanting out the new apprentices names. An subtle smile spreading across his face as Mossypaw received his full name,, again. It was.. pretty. In his opinion.

No homo, though.

Wormbite would simply watch the warrior ceremony. He was glad that it seemed like apprentices were becoming warriors more often now.

Silvershade was zoning out and didn't even realize that ceremonies were happened. They quickly snapped out of once their name was mentioned. OH. OH HELL YEAH. The warrior let out an quiet rumble, excited to be in charge of a final assignment.

It's like.. training with no commitment. Silvershade casted an glance around for Cottenpaw-- making a mental note to get on it as soon as possible before returning their attention back to the ongoing warrior ceremony.

The tom was hesitant to join, not knowing if he was welcome as a new clan member to the meeting. He had just joined the clan that day, and was still getting used to being in the clan. He hoped that he would be accepted as a warrior and a member of the clan, and that, possibly he could even end up with a mate and kits! (Please don’t mind this or feel pressured; it is just a character mindset!)

Firehawk affectionately purred at Iceflower, bopping his nose against her cheek. "I'll talk to him tonight, darling."

So much had happened in such short time Firehawk didn't have much time to effectively process it but he was happy to chant the names of the new apprentices-- especially proud of Sunpaw and Dogpaw. He'd have to pull the two new apprentices aside later and congratulate them. "Softpaw [ kittygirl], we can go over your training if Gentlethunder is fine with it, after the meeting!"

He almost.. almost missed Iceflower's girl comment, and shook his head gently as he licked the top of Frozenpaw's head. "Frozenpaw, you don't need to thump everyone that annoys you."

Lionstar had no reason to trust her and he was uncertain on how he felt about her rushed training. He supposed they'd have to see how that went-- how her strength and memory would fare with such little time.

"There is one final announcement I would like to make. Thistlestep is stepping down as a Lionheart, and in his place he has appointed Wormbite [ x ghostie]. Wormbite is now in charge of the elite training program and has the authority to call cats to training as he wishes. I look forward to seeing how his new ideas play out with his new authority." Maybe some dirt tactics would come into play now?

Duskpaw smiled as he watched the other apprentice become a warrior. He looked around the clearing, seeing cats cheer the name of the newly named warrior. He decided that he would do that too.
"Eveninglight! Eveninglight!" he cheered. He long white pelt with brown tabby splotches was fluffed out in excitement. He had never seen an apprentice become a warrior before! I wonder how long it will be until I become a warrior! The very thought made Duskpaw even more excited. He heard the leader dismiss them and he yawned, thinking he would take a nap, he padded into the apprentices den and curled up in his nest, falling asleep quickly.

Foxpaw cheered for the new warrior. "Eveninglight!"

As soon as Eveninglight’s new name was given, Grizzlybug erupted into cheers.

“Eveninglight! Eveninglight! Eveninglight!!!”

He was on his paws beside Beanpaw and his fur fluffed up joyously for his now former apprentice. The brown tabby couldn’t help feeling a bit of pride in himself too for completing his first apprentice’s training, but he wasn’t about to dwell on that in her moment.

“Woohoo! Way to go, Eveninglight!”

The warrior waved his tail at her gleefully, still puffed up like a happy kit, and nearly bounced off his paws. Anything he could do to make the moment extra special, Grizz did. He wanted her to remember this moment fondly for the rest of her life. Grizzlybug knew that he would.

"Eveninglight. Eveninglight!" Sparrowflame called the new warrior's name with the crowd, tail waving slightly. Hope I don't have to talk to her...

"eveninglight, eveninglight, eveninglight" Gingerpaw called out in his usual tone. He had to admit, it was pretty pleasing that there seemed to be an increas of warrior ceremonies, though.. there was something that just didn't settle right- but oh well. It was probably just his disturbed sleep, that defenitely wasn't right. He couldn't help but think after the second announcement, his sister probably would've close to forced him to partake in that elite training, yet to him it seemed much to exhausting. Hm. He simply gave a light flick of his tail at the thought and turned around to head to the side of a den, there placing himself in the shade once the meeting got dismissed, maybe he should go see Flyfur later or so.

Harepaw chanted Evenglight's name. I might become a warrior soon, he thought.

Eveninglight blinked, feeling the name on her tongue as she heard Grizzlybug and Ivyshine cheer for her before noticing the rest of her clanmates cheering for her. She let off a smile of relief. Finally, she could hang out with Ivyshine out of camp without being a burden as an apprentice.

Ivyshine held her breath. This was it. She’s finally going to share a den with me! She thought joyously. As soon as the Evening’s warrior name was called, Ivyshine erupted with cheers, saying her name along with their new clanmates as loud as she could. “Eveninglight! Eveninglight! Eveninglight!” She chanted, eyes sparkling with excitement. Her heart was warmed to see the apprentice - no, warrior now - happy and proud. The silver dappled Molly’s eyes were alight as she barely listened to the rest of the meeting, Feeling excitement and pride down to her paws.

Softpaw turned to see firehawk, she gave a quick nod and looked back to gentlethunder for his approval.

Hearing the words that the meeting was dismissed, the molly slinked on over to Silentpaw. Tapping him on the back with her fluffy white tail, she whispered in his ear. "Meet me in the apprentices' den later." Pulling away, she trotted over to the apprentices' den and disappeared inside.

Grizzlybug turned to Beanpaw beside him and meowed,

“Alright, kiddo, wanna go check out the territory with me?”

He wanted to get the young siamese’s training started as soon as possible for two reasons. The first was that he was excited to get to train Beanpaw in the first place- how cool was it that he’d be training the kit he’d led to the clan! The second reason was because Grizz had never trained an apprentice from the beginning of their training. Evening paw had already been misty trained when he received her as an apprentice. He wanted to work with Beanpaw as often as possible and as soon as possible to give them both a nice period of time before it became crucial that Beanpaw be promoted. The last thing he wanted was to leave Beanpaw still an apprentice when he was at warrior age.

"Eveninglight! Eveninglight!" Berrypaw cheered the new warrior's name a few times, before losing interest in the last announcements. Hearing the words that the meeting was dismissed, the molly slinked on over to Silentpaw. Tapping him on the back with her fluffy white tail, she whispered in his ear. "Meet me in the apprentices' den later." Pulling away, she trotted over to the apprentices' den and disappeared inside.


Silentpaw gave a brisk nod and pretended to stay with Maplekit to seem like he hadn't disappeared. He focus his eyes on the next announcements and sympathized Maplekit being held back to be an apprentice even though Maplekit was a few days older than he was. When he was done with everything, he headed to the apprentice's den pretending to make his nest there.
