Double Dusk [p]
Duskclaw of RiverClan
34 moons
Duskclaw stood tall near the edgy of the RiverClan clearing. He liked to watch all the cats, see how everyone moves and talks. The rusty colossus could do this for hours, just watching and taking mental notes.
Duskleaf sat in his tree gazing into the sky. It had started to feel real that he’d be a father soon, it was…exciting, but he was nervous too. He missed sharing a nest with Irisdream, but hopefully it wouldn’t be long now until they could share a nest again. Until then, he’d sleep in this tree just as he did a few moons back. It was a lovely view still, and he felt at peace looking into the bright blue sky. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a gigantic warrior with dark fur. He’d never spoken to Duskclaw before but had seen him around, as far as he knew, he seemed a pretty good warrior. For a moment he considered what to do, perhaps it’d be good to try and get to know more cats, and who knows? Maybe they’d get along. Duskleaf stood up and stretched his legs, grabbing a few fresh leaves from the tree and putting them in his fur.
Jumping down from the tree, he made his way over to Duskclaw and gave a respectful dip of his head as he approached. He sat down a couple of tail-lengths away and curled his tail around his paws. "Hey Duskclaw, would ye be up for a little hunt at all?"

Re: Double Dusk [p]
Duskclaw of RiverClan

"Oh, it's you." Duskclaw glared as Duskleaf spoke. At first he was going to ignore the lionheart, but it would be so rude of him to ignore a superior! The large tom stretched a bit and stood up, eyeing down Duskleaf. "Sure, nothing better to do today. I know a spot by the ThunderClan border, a ways upsteam from Smallpines. The fish there are lazy and easy to catch." This is, if you don't tell every cat in the forest would've been his next words, but he reserved himself.
Duskleaf at first definitely got the impression Duskclaw didn’t like him, which wasn’t that surprising. There were still quite a few cats who were angry at him over his last big mistake. In some ways he still hadn’t gotten over it himself, he’d never make that mistake again for certain, but he still felt it had forever tarnished his reputation and he wasn’t sure he fully trusted himself. His good ear perked up as Duskclaw mentioned the ThunderClan border. He hadn’t been to any border since that time he accidentally revealed RiverClan’s temporary camp to the very clan that organised the others to drive them out a few moons earlier. But he inwardly sighed at that — he couldn’t just avoid borders for the rest of his life, he was a Lionheart again, a border shouldn’t be a problem for him.
After a momentary pause, he nodded. "Right so, lead the way." He just hoped his mother or sister wouldn’t be at the border right now. That would be really awkward to have to explain to Duskclaw. Plus Snakefang had a tendency to make every situation she was in a hundred times worse.

Duskclaw of RiverClan

The rusty colossus lead the way out of camp. Duskclaw held a steady pace, never really bothering to look back at Duskleaf. It was as he walked that the gears in his brain began to turn. A lionheart was with him, away from everyone else, with his full attention. If Duskclaw was a lesser cat he would contemplate such horror such as murder, but he was clever. In this moment, Duskclaw felt he was one of a kind. He saw himself the only cat that wished to see the river run red with ThunderClan cats. But today, if he could twist his words just the right way, there would be two cats standing to see this come to pass. Two is a start, and that's all Duskclaw needed, especially if one of those two was a cat of higher standing.
It was a nice walk, though. Soon they arrived at one of Duskclaw's favorite places. A nice slab of rock stood on the shore, perfect for sunning. The river ran calm and shallow. Duskclaw hopped up on the flat rock. He seemed a bit more chipper, though his grumpy demeanor still held strong. "Look," Duskclaw signaled to look towards the other bank of the river. "Sometimes you can see ThunderClan savages pass by. It's probably too early for them, though. Lazy pests." The other bank seemed to have a natural trail where cats could walk along parallel to the river.
Duskleaf looked around as he followed Duskclaw through the territory towards this spot not far from the border. He said a silent prayer to StarClan that his sister wouldn’t be on patrol or something. Maybe Sunheart was alright with her because he knew her, but Duskclaw didn’t seem like the cat who would take too kindly to her cheek.
"Ah ye were right enough, this place is quite nice." Duskleaf had a look around. Aside from the proximity to ThunderClan territory, this place was rather beautiful. He relaxed somewhat realising his sister wasn’t going to show up and cause any trouble. He chuckled slightly at Duskclaw’s comment about it being too early for the ThunderClan cats. He had a point. Even his own family over there were pretty lazy. He was glad Reedclaw decided to bring him back to RiverClan, it really was hard to imagine what life would be like on the other side of the border. "Hopefully it stays that way, I can’t be arsed with them today." Stepping closer to the water, the Lionheart avoided casting a shadow on the calmly flowing river. There seemed to be plenty of fish, and the good weather meant this should be a breeze. He turned to look at Duskclaw. "I think we’re on a winner here."

Re: Double Dusk [p]
Duskclaw of RiverClan
34 moons (At time of RP)
Duskclaw hopped on down and stood about a cat-length from Duskleaf's side. The giant warrior gazed in the water, thinking about his next words carefully as he watched for fish.
[Rolled 2D20: 2/3 Miss!]
Duskclaw lunged at a fish, but it was too quick. He shook the water off his face and sighed. His amber eyes focused hard on the ThunderClan side of the river. He thought about what the correct words could possibly be to make Duskleaf's mind fill with hate for the savages across the river. Duskclaw decided to lean into one thing he knew got many cats in a frenzy: fear. "Do you worry about it, Duskleaf? Living so close to such an unpredictable set of cats with only water to separate us?" Duskclaw focused on Duskleaf, waiting for a reaction to analyze.
Duskleaf watched Duskclaw’s attempt to catch a fish, then tried himself. He took a few steps towards the bank and looked into the river. The sun was shining brightly and somewhat skewed his estimation of where the fish actually was, so as he attempted to scoop it out of the water, he realised his claw had gone too deep and the fish got away. He shook his paw dry, before turning his head. The massive warrior’s question caught him off guard a bit.
"I suppose a little bit…" He said after a momentary pause. "I do think RiverClan could certainly hold our own if we had to though, plus they don’t really have any reason to attack us right now."

"Hold our own against ThunderClan, yes, but they have...friends..." Duskclaw saw a small fish swimming close. The colossus stood still as stone and waited for the purrfect moment.
[Rolled 2D20: 11/19 So Close!]
The fish was simply too slippery for him. Duskclaw huffed with frusteration. His size and muscle was meant to kill cats, not small fish. The rusty warrior walked closer to Duskleaf, circling him in a faux-friendly way. "We cannot forget our history, Duskleaf. Our bloody history..." Duskclaw sat in the water a little bit downstream from Duskleaf, side-eying the Lionheart. "It is bold of you to assume savages are capable of reason."
