[Rolled a 4D-3=winterpaw can escape if it was unable to dodge] «•« ▇▆▅▃▂▁

Claypaw now understood the joy of pranks. Maybe she'll have to pull some more in the future. Or maybe she'll stick to doing them in sparring events. Who knew? Certainly not her. As Seapaw slipped, she jumped forward to try and grab his leg.

Unfortunately she overshot the jump, and missed him! "Wow, this move sure seems harder than the last one!"

Claypaw also missed - it did seem like this move was straight up hard. He was a little embarrassed to be on the same level as a brand-new apprentice, though. "We'll get there!" He grinned, trying to encourage her (and himself). Now he'd give it another go [rolled: 5]. They zipped round to grab one of Claypaw's back paws again - their aim felt a little better so far, but they weren't sure if they'd actually manage it.

Seapaw managed to get a grip on her hind leg again. He said they'd get there, but he seemed to have it down! How was she going to get loose this time? The bird trick wouldn't work again. Maybe a turtle? Wait, no, she didn't know what those looked like. Well, this was battle training. So Claypaw raised a paw, and tried to slap Seapaw's muzzle, just hard enough to surprise him.

When she managed to wriggle her leg free, Claypaw hopped and turned to face the older apprentice. "You're doing pretty good!" she told them with her usual chipperness. But now it was her turn! So she got close again, stumbling a step but continuing on to try and get a good grasp on Seapaw's leg.

Darn! Not again! He flipped his head round, reacting to the slap, then Claypaw wiggled out quite easily. "As are you!" He smiled. It was nice to see how well she was doing despite the age difference. It must be nice to be so happy and eager to fight - he hoped Claypaw would never have to be scared of fighting. They felt Claypaw go for their leg again - uhhhh what to do what to do... They didn't want to hit, and they couldn't just copy the distraction tactic - so, he wiggled from paw to paw, to shake her off.

Their turn again! [Rolled: 3 - slipped] They wiggled forward, in attempts to grasp Claypaw's leg again. Maybe this time they'd succeed?

Seapaw managed to get a grasp on her leg again. Y'know, maybe some time she should try and jump out of the way? Maybe next try. Still, their grip on her leg was loose enough for Claypaw to wiggle it out. Idly, she couldn't help but wonder about how funny this all must be to watch. It had to look silly, going around in circles biting each other's legs. Claypaw snorted before going in to try and grab Seapaw's leg again.
