Pikepaw was right indeed, she did have another ear! He wasn’t just making it up. Pikepaw’s eyes widened and he did as he was told and sat down next to Salamanderpaw. He didn’t think he was gonna get snatched but he wasn’t about to risk it. Anyway, quite frankly he wanted to hear the story.
”Otters? No I haven’t heard that!!” He squeaked with excitement. Very patiently craning his ears to listen in over the mumbling of the crowd. Had Salamanderpaw fought otters? Or maybe even tried to befriend her and it had gone awry. No matter what, the thought was solidified in his mind, Salamander paw was pretty darn awesome. Pikepaw couldn’t wait to grow big and strong, go fight otters himself and defend the clan with his very all. Wow. It was a good time to be a wide eyed apprentice, quite honestly living his best life.
Owlthroat
he/him | Shadowclan Enforcer | 50 moons Killer Aptitude T3 - Just A Scratch - Silver Tongue T2 The Dancing Bird
The large Enforcer craned his ears chuckling at Rookfire’s bemusings. He was only half shocked when his suspicions became confirmed and a hearty chuckle wrought itself free from his maw. ”Ay, you’re not wrong. The treerats have done a complete overhaul.” His eyes roamed over the rocks. Spiderthroat, he now presumed to be Spiderstar. A large grey tom as deputy, and two new healers. Dear Starclan.
”From the looks of it, something serious. Dead? You reckon?” His voice piqued with interest. He couldn’t lie to himself, he was having fun for once. It wasn’t the usual gathering drawl they were subjected to month after month. But it did rack his brains, he’d seen it before in his time of course, particularly with Riverclan’s instability. But Thunderclan hadn’t pulled something this intense in a while, a revamp of their leadership. But whether they’d crumble underneath it was a different story all together.
Starrypaw tonight was... oddly calm.
After all she'd went through with her grieving and Berryshine's therapy sessions, the Gatherings were nothing more than... gatherings.
She padded after Riverclan amongst the last ones, unable to spot her mentor nor Wisteriawren. There was Seapaw, but he seemed already engaged in a conversation with someone else, so she kept on walking around to fidget while she waited for the speeches.
She was lost in thought when suddenly her head butted someone else. "Ouch!"
She'd just landed on a rock, too, and the pain traveled through her head and limbs. "I'm s-sorry..." She murmured while preparing to leave as fast as she could, but before that she dared to take a quick look at who she'd hit. Oh, it was a gray cat. A tabby, a tom. She flinched a little bit at the scars he showed, before remembering she, too, had collected some.
Her left eye showed one just in the corner.
What was the tom's name, she couldn't tell.
But there was something so familiar about his look, and so suspicious about the way he was looking around... "R-...rain? I apologize." Mhh, she thought she had heard about some Rain leaving Riverclan, but she just couldn't remember anything about the cause. Wait, what if he's some dangerous cat? Or maybe, he was in a bind with someone? Oh, stars, a forbidden love...
Mallowswarm had never considered that one day it wouldn't be Bumblestar leading ThunderClan to Seastones. She had always been the one to do it; even when she had fallen into a coma, the clan had simply not gone that moon. The sight of Spiderstar heading the clan as they made their way to the beach was strange, unfamiliar. It didn't feel right. She supposed it was something she'd have to get used to now.
The piney scent of ShadowClan wafted towards her as Mallowswarm followed her clanmates into Seastones. She took a seat among the throngs of her clan, listening idly to snippets of chatter. A younger her might have tried to interact with a cat from the other clan, but her experiences had shown her that was a bad idea. Either they had ignored her, or their conversation had been stilted and uncomfortable. Now she came to think about that, all those cats had been from ShadowClan. Maybe it was something about that specific clan?
WindClan arrived, then RiverClan. She knew the other clans were curious about ThunderClan's rank changes; how would Spiderstar announce them? Treetiger wasn't sitting with the medicine cats, she noticed. Was her rank going to be kept hidden from the other clans, like Hollowpaw's had been? Surely he would have told the clan beforehand if that was the case? Probably not, then. But that again raised the question: why wasn't she up there? Was she uncomfortable with it? Maybe. Mallowswarm certainly didn't know, so she let the question be, although a part of her mind still pondered it. There wasn't much else to occupy it, after all.
Whiterabbit's quick to reach a pale paw out from her makeshift sandnest, grasping wildly to try and pin down Ploversnap's tail so that it's clear she's really caught her. The fiendish grin is immediate, banishing the sleepy look that'd been pulling Whiterabbit's whiskers low just a moment ago.
"You're lucky; I won't eat fish, always found them kinda creepy. But everything's a little less creepy if it has a name, so, tell me yours before I burst into tears." She prompts cheerfully, pushing hersef upright out of her lof to sit and peer at Ploversnap.
She/ Her / 38 moons / Riverclan warrior Purrks: N/A
The silver-white warrior peers down to the paw that trapped her tail. She was quite impressed, but she responded with half-lidded eyes and brows bent upwards, revealing her confident disposition with no hesitation at all. She would consider herself as a fool when she would cower, but taking everything seriously just wouldn’t help either. She doesn’t want to start a conflict at all, but whenever she takes it to the opposite extreme, she would regard her life as too dull and simple.
“Callin’ me a fish, eh?” She raised a brow. A creepy fish, indeed. “And you’re lucky I don’t have the skill to hunt down rabbits.” She doesn’t want to frighten the Windclan warrior, so she gives in and introduces herself with an uneven grin. “Ploversnap. Pleasure to meet you, Whiterabbit.”
She swivels her head to the leaders who perch onto the seastones. The Thunderclan high ranks have somehow drastically changed – The deputy has claimed the role as the leader, along with a grey tabby that takes over the deputy position, and another two have been promoted as the new medicine cats. It looks like Thunderclan broke the world record this time. “How’s Windclan?” She mewed.
And there it was. The first RiverClan interaction the warrior has had since leaving the clan. The small tabby turned his head, one blue eye falling on an apprentice he briefly recognized - Starrypaw. And she called him rain, she probably remembered him. Just great.
"Rainstreak," the thunderclanner corrected, lashing his half-tail. "Don't worry, I couldn't care less," they said bluntly. "Good to see you, Starrypaw." A lie. He didn't want to deal with any of his former clanmates at the moment. "I hope all is well in RiverClan."
With that, the one-eyed warrior turned back to face the leaders, silently praying the apprentice wouldn't prod further. When were the announcements going to start? He wanted to catch up on clan news and go home already.

| Sprucejumper | 20 Moons - ThunderClan Warrior
Kitty Softpaws [T2] - Active | Ultimate Predator - Inactive | Agatha Kitty - Inactive | Not Skiddin' Around - Active | Amnesia - Active
The chocolate point clung back in the shadows, having followed The Boulder alongside Violent and Angry. He cared little for the gatherings. Couldn't stand the things. Too many cats and too much talking and posturing. These cats wanted to kill each other on a regular basis. Having one night a month that held a truce wouldn't change that. He had learned it early on in his very first of these wretched meetups.
When it was all said and done, he didn't want to be here. He'd felt himself growing more distant from the clan lately. Didn't want to speak to anyone - more so than usual - not even to the cats he held in high esteem. This include The Boulder, which was the main reason why he kept so far away from them even as he followed. Because true, Sprucejumper held no wish to socialize, but that didn't mean he wasn't worried for his former mentor.
Once they'd arrived and he was certain they wouldn't need him, the former housecat bounded off in the opposite direction, unwilling to be seen by the boisterous mountain of a feline and their companions. Instead, he took to a secluded area by the edge of the clearing, his deadpanned gaze clearly uninterested in any of the felines gathered here. He remained close enough to the trio he'd silently followed in order to offer assistance if needed, but far enough that he would hopefully not be noticed. Knowing The Boulder, they would drag him towards the group, and he just couldn't be bothered. His presence here was enough socializing for the next three months as far as he was concerned.

UGH. so many cats. so much talking. why does she even come to gatherings in the first place? welp. this brown tom looked oddly quiet. so she'd sit near him. "youre quiet, hm? if you want peace as much as i do i'll glare at anyone who comes near us. i have resting mean face."

the two toms showed up with a particularly evil expression on their face. you see, wolfcoil had come up with a really dumb idea the day prior, but dumb didn't mean bad per se. ' what if there was a game. but the goal of the game was to not think of the game. at first redpounce immediately integrated that into his memory so he could consistently bring it up to make fun of wolfcoil, but actually when he elaborated it was pretty funny. you started playing upon existing and never stopped, even after losing. was there any consequences? no. they only needed a name.
the game.
"GO FORTH! WE SHALL SPREAD THIS UNKNOWN ILLNESS!" redpounce joked as they split up, on their way to inform some poor innocent clan cats on their evil terrible unnecessary plot.
wolfcoil was the first to approach a cat. "me and my friend came up with a game, do you want to hear about it?" it didn't take long for redpounce to ask someone else the same question somewhere else, but with different phrasing.
