Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
The main thing (only thing) in Deadmoon's mind at the moment was Panic. Panic with a capital P, because she was probably going to perish of a heart attack before she even got to do what she wanted to do. Actually she didn't want to do it, but she was GOING to do it, because she wasn't a useless clod of dirt. That was a lie. She was a useless clod of dirt. If she weren't, she wouldn't be freaking out at the thought of just doing her dang job. She was old and all that, she was meant to be good at telling cats what to do! And most of the time, she was! Deadmoon was more than happy to be the snippy voice when necessary, if someone deserved it she would be the first to tell them off! There just.....wasn't anyone to tell off right now, and so she was nervous instead of invigorated by righteous anger.
Huffing to herself at her own stupidity, heart doing a little bounce about her chest, Deadmoon fixed her mind upon her annoyance at Jaggedpaw. Kit. Jagged whatever. Seriously? He'd rather be a kit than be her apprentice? Actually that thought mostly just made her sad, but she managed to convince herself it was something akin to annoyance. Suitably annoyed, and also well aware that other cats had already been told about her plan so she couldn't really back out now, Deadmoon made her way to the center of the clearing. Apprentices! And kits if you're older than 3 moons! she didn't really want to deal with any absolute babies, their coordination was bound to be abominable and they'd probably forget everything by the time they were apprentices anyway. We're going to do a bit of hunting training, so roll on over here if you want to join in!
Ok that actually hadn't been too bad. She had....said words. Words had been said. Oh wait. She needed a few warriors, didn't she? She had already roped poor Vinesmoke (he was just that hint more chaotic than Snowybreeze which meant he would agree to her schemes) and Fleetsmoke (the molly had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time) in to deal with the rabbit hunting bit, but a few more 'rabbits' wouldn't be amiss. If some warriors are willing to act as prey that would also be great! You can practice your dodging skills if nothing else! Hopefully this whole business would kill a few birds at once, and get Mistypaw a proper rabbit hunting lesson that Deadmoon alone could not provide, as well as tempt some of Snowybreeze's sulky babies into doing some training. Who knew though. She didn't even really know what they were upset about. Well, Jaggedpaw didn't really want her as his mentor which might be fair enough, but Frostkit not showing up might also be part of it. Which potentially had affected her decision of including older kits. BUT no one could prove it, so really she was just doing her job and helping get some of the many, MANY apprentice's trained up in hunting before leafbare really got going. That would be the official story, anyway.
With everyone called, though who knew how many cats would actually listen or care, Deadmoon waited a moment or two before explaining the plan. The goal of this whole thing is to get all you kids the basics of hunting. If you don't know anything, that's perfectly fine! You're going to stay in camp with me, and we'll get you stalking and pouncing in no time. If you're an apprentice, and an apprentice ONLY, who does know how to stalk and all that, you'll head out of camp with Fleetsmoke ( @anika), Vinesmoke ( @Tallstar) and a few other warriors to get the hang of rabbit chasing. Or in this case warrior chasing, since a lot of the rabbits have gone underground. Was that everything? Mostly everything? Maybe?
Oh yeah. Get them to self sort now, so she knew who was going where. So if you're an apprentice with prior knowledge, group up by the entrance, listen to Fleetsmoke and Vinesmoke, and catch some warriors! Hopefully any warriors hanging around would get the message that they were meant to join that group as well, and do their best rabbit impressions. Newer apprentices and kits head over here with me, and we'll get started on hunting crouches. If a few warriors or queens want to hang around as well that'd be great. She probably wouldn't be sending the kits to stalk warriors, she had a pile of mossballs for them, but if there were some larger apprentices who wanted a challenge some 'prey' could come in handy.
- This event is for apprentices and kits older than three moons. No tiny babies please!
- Please mention what group you're joining in your post, so a mentions list can get sorted out!
- Kits, regardless of experience, have to stay in camp and are stuck with Deadmoon if they want to participate
Emberpaw bounced over excitedly. I don't know how to stalk yet! SO I guess that means I'm with you huh? She said enthusiastically. Blizzardnose hasn't taught me anything yet! So I can't WAIT to learn, and then make him proud! Will it take long? Is it hard? Can- Emberpaw stopped suddenly, realizing she was talking a lot again. Usually, her talking and enthusiasm scared cats away. She bounced excitedly, and waited for the training to start. @gs29513

Ashpaw approached to look at what was going on. Hunting? Always good to practice, he thought with a shrug. Listening to Deadmoon until she finished talking, the apprentice looked around for Vinesmoke and Fleetsmoke. Spotting the two warriors, he walked to them. “Hi” he said.

Vinesmoke had been thrilled to help Deadmoon with teaching however he hoped he was adequate enough for the apprentices but whatever they would get his best efforts to whip them into shape. He stood near the back keeping an eye out for anything unusual. He had been hoping to see Wildpaw or bounce paw at least he knew they would like the extra training though it seemed like every time he met Wildpaw he was caught of guard and tackled he sighed at the memories. When Deadmoon had finished he snapped out of his daze and he stood up. He had hit quite the growth spurt he had grown broad shoulders like his father though he was still skinny compared to his clan mates “Apprentices over here “he called out keeping his eye open for Fleetsmoke He saw one of the apprentices approach “Oh hello,eh fall in line so I can get a headcount”
This was Jaggedpaw's mentor. And their grandmother. In shuffling up to the dark-er-pelted Fury, Strawberrypaw hoped that maybe this action of hers would draw out a couple siblings too. Even if not, she could go back and teach them what she'd learned.
Fleetsmoke made her way over to the camp entrance, halting whenever she reached the side of Vinesmoke. Her whiskers twitched, and she spotted the apprentices and kits crowding the clearing. ´´If you´re an apprentice with hunting training, come and meet up by the camp entrance with Vinesmoke and I!´´

Ashpaw listened to the warrior. “Oh, okay!” He said. Walking towards the queue, he looked around. This event seemed to have interested a lot of cats, and the apprentice sat down to watch the kits running around.
