"SNEAK ATTACK!!!" Lichenshock yells as she rounds a corner, jumping up in front of poor unsuspecting Windpaw - though she doesn't actually attack the apprentice... more of a jumpscare!! Windpaw's reaction aside... Lichenshock does actually have a motive for this little scare: battle training!!! Every apprentice loves a good fight, and it's always cool to get different cats to spar with you and teach you. Lichenshock knows she's slippery and swift, it'll be cool to see how Windpaw deals with it!

"I wanna take you battle training! It'll be fun! Plus it's so cold that the exercise might be good to warm up!" True to her words, Lichenshock shivers a little where she stands, bouncing back and forth from paw to paw to get her body moving and warmed up. Does she have her own apprentice she could take battle training? Yes. But Flickeringpaw is brand new and Lichenshock can't help but feel like battle is more of an after you try your paw at hunting thing. At least with her own apprentice. She can't speak for Windpaw.

Windpaw screams embarassingly loud when Lichenshock jumps infront of her, eyes wide and mouth agape. After confirming that the warrior wasn't a threat, she shut her mouth and shuffled her paws in embarassment and let out a nervous laugh.

"Oh, uhm, yeah! I'd love that! Okay, okay, where're we going? Are we gonna learn how to fight cats from other Clans? Or maybe lions?" All that had happened just now was forgotten. Don't blame Windpaw! She just wants to learn new stuff! Nothing wrong with wanting to train, was it? It wasn't even like she was obsessive or anything.

Windpaw smiled brightly as she awaited an answer, just ready to bolt out of the clearing to start training.

"We're just goin' out into the territory a little bit. Not too far from camp... dunno about fighting lions, never seen one!" That said, Lichenshock leads the way just beyond the camp walls and turned to face Windpaw. "Sure, we can go over how to take down cats from other clans! Let's start with RiverClan; tell me what you know about how the fish fight and we can come up with a way to take 'em down!"

With a wide grin, Windpaw quickly followed Lichenshock out of camp, mind buzzing with excitement. Oh joy! She'd finally learn how to throw claws! She stopped to think for a moment, eyes narrowed thoughtfully. How did RiverClanners fight?

"Hmm... I know they swim! Like, a lot! Do they fight in the water, too? That's bad, right? We can't swim!" Windpaw frowned a little, trying to think of ways to fight the watercats. Her mind was empty! Until... "Oh! Wait! What if we run SO fast we jump right over the water? They'll never see us coming!"

Windpaw has a lot of energy alright - she sort of reminds Lichenshock of herself when she was an apprentice. And also now. Lotsa energy all the time. Ahem, but there's a lesson to be had!

"Yup! They do fight in the water, so you're gonna wanna avoid fighting them in their own terf at all costs! But! But we're super fast too, lotsa open grassland means we can really build up speed!! So you wanna lure the slippery fish outta the water first, 'n then use your speed against them. Quick movements! Like dashing past and swiping at their sides!! (That move works better in pairs, though, and you gotta pay attention to your tail, cuz the river cats could grab onto that.)" She explains, finding herself rambling a little at the end before bringing herself back to the topic at hand. "Can you take a guess at what spots you're gonna wanna aim for most? Where do you think it would cause the most damage if you were attacking say... me? Where are my weak points?"

There's an obvious answer Lichenshock expects Windpaw to get right away, and then there are the harder places she's looking forward to seeing the apprentice figure out.

Windpaw nodded, noting the information in her head. Quick movements. Like what they were made for! They're WindClan, after all. At Lichenshock's final question, WIndpaw didn't need to think all that much. Which she was proud of! She knew the answer! Yay!

"Your... Throat! And uhh... Chest and belly! Right? The soft parts?" She loosely gestured to her own throat, tilting her head curiously if waiting for confirmation. "I heard that's where you can draw the most blood... Kinda creeps me out but I guess that's important to know?"
