Duskclaw's eyes widened a bit. Claypaw caught a fish on her first try? Learning to swim on a moment's notices was one thing but catching a fish on her first try? Maybe she wasn't just an annoying kit. Duskclaw gave Claypaw a small smile. "Well done, Claypaw." The pride seeped through his flat tone as he walked out into the stream, gazing over to
"As Floodsight said before, there's another way to fish. It's dangerous, but it's how you catch some of the big fish you see in the fresh-kill pile." Duskclaw turned around to look at Claypaw. "To me, Claypaw."

Claypaw beamed at Duskclaw when he congratulated her. Really, her siblings were worried about this guy? He was just a bit grumpy. She jogged over to his side, almost forgetting about the fish before looking back at the water. The method couldn't be tossing her in the water again, was it? Nah, that was the fun way. Fun didn't mean dangerous. "How're we doin' this? Get a bird to do it and hunt both or somethin'?"
Heroneye was able to drown Seapaw with her previous attack. While not an ideal situation from the apprentice, the most important thing would be recovering quickly; the most battle-hardened warrior could be caught off-guard and knocked aside, so learning to deal with it was just as important as dodging altogether. She turned her gaze back to the younger cat just as he began to stir again.
[ Heroneye rolled a four out of ten. ]
Out of the corner of her vision, she saw Seapaw dashing forward, grabbing at her front paws. She struggled to keep upright and was barely able to keep her balance, though in doing so she had to brace her paws against the ground, effectively rending them usless in terms of battle.
She was fairly impressed by this by this unique move and figured she'd be wrapping up the sparring match soon; usually, this sort of thing was a sign that she had little else to teach within the scope of a standard lesson. She wouldn't end things right then and there; perhaps it was only a matter of her own pride, or seeing more of what the apprentice had to offer.
She jerked her paws to the side, ideally sending the apprentice flying past. If they were quick enough to let go before they lost their balance, Heroneye would aim a simple strike at their head, trying to take advantage of any potentially lost focus.
