Berryshine listened for a bit, giving a small shake of her head here or there to a few of the guesses; they were good, but not quite was she was looking for. Infection, bellyaches... aha!
The medicine cat made eye contact with Fogmask and Moonpelt, giving a soft purr of approval. "Y-Yes... it's for numbing pain," she mewed, eyes glinting. "Y-You'd chew the leaves for that. I don't think it's as effective as poppy seeds, w-which is another common herb you might see me use, especially for battle wounds. B-But it still works quite well a-and even helps relax cats, as I've found." Not necessarily a sleep aid, but perhaps it had properties related to the pain relief that eased stressed cats. Whatever it was, it was useful.
"So if a cat is in a l-lot of pain, chewing on some of these might help — even roots and stems, but the leaves are best. But, be warned... t-they taste awful," Berryshine added, whiskers twitching slightly in amusement. Most learned that the hard way, underestimating the bitterness of the leaves. "You don't always need to swallow it, b-but that's how you get the best effects. But it's also important not to numb pain too much, o-or for too long... because then, I won't always be able to tell what's wrong, or if something still n-needs treatment."
With that, she paused for another moment, waiting for any questions... but that last herb had been self-explanatory enough. She finally stood to her paws, sweeping the remainder of the herbs and items towards her with a flick of her skinny tail.
"I believe t-that's all I have for you today! Thank you to everyone who came o-out to listen... I know it was a lot, s-so you may only remember bits and pieces. That's okay! Anything you remember might save a cat's life. Remember, this is only for life-saving purposes; if at all possible, y-you should always defer to me or go fetch me for any Clanmates that are ill or wounded before doing anything."
With that, she dipped her head, offering another quiet 'thank you'; her nerves had died down some during the teaching, being one of her passions that got the timid she-cat easily talking. Offering a little smile, Berryshine picked up her herbs and began to head back to the den. That had been a nice, uplifting distraction and a good way to help her Clanmates... she felt just a bit brighter than she had before.

The medicine cat smiled warmly down at her sister and briefly touched her nose to hers and Willowtail's ears. It'd be good to spend time with them, especially after all that'd happened recently.

Whispy couldn't help a small frown, she had been wrong. But that's okay! She knew what it was for now, that was what was important. The pale gray she-cat dipped her head, blinking gratefully at Berryshine. "Th-Thank you, Ms. Berryshine. For taking the time to teach us." She purred. She opened her mouth, wanting to ask if it would be possible to receive more lessons, but she stopped, and backed down. Stepping aside as Daisypaw approached. You're supposed to be training as a warrior. You need to be satisfied with that. With one last look at Berryshine, Whisperingpaw turned and returned to the apprentice's den. Her tail dragging slightly behind her.
