Oh yeah, Beaverpaw time. Salamanderpaw's so psyched to have an outing with him that she does the thing that anybody would do: hides near where Berryshine is calling cats together and waits...and...bathumpathumpathump—rah! Pounces at him like he's a mouse when he gathers at the call. Regardless of whether she actually gets him or not, she's already happily shouting away: "BEAVERPAW!! You workin' on your war face any? SHOW ME!"

Suresuresure they need to be ready to head out since Cherryswirl's here and ready, but Salamanderpaw'll need to re-assess Beaverpaw's battle-readiness here or on the move or both! This guy's still gonna be on her posse one day (or so Salamanderpaw is still delusionally convinced). They can sneak in some professional development and get moss and sticks (shoutout Berryshine for giving them the eeeeeasy stuff).

She peers up at Cherryswirl, baring a too-big grin. "I'M Salamanderpaw. He's Beaverpaw. He's kind of a big, sad wimp but we're working on it. What about you, are you a wimp or what?"

Okay, he sees Cheryswirl, which-
HOLY STARCLAN SOMEONE'S ON HIM.
After a moment of panic, he realizes it's literally just Salamanderpaw.
Oh.

He climbs out from under her as she yells about...
The war face thing again.
Okay, uh, fun.

"Uh, it's a... work in progress?" He offered, not sure if he wanted to do the whole 'war-face' conversation in front of a warrior.

Salamanderpaw was already answering Cherryswirl's question.
And her description of him was... something.
He can't say he's really surprised though, it's honestly kinda right anyway.

Baneberryburst has never been on a herb patrol before. Gathering herbs, especially cobwebs and poppy seeds sound easy enough. He joined his group and looked to Heroneye. I'm ready when you are.

Once everything is squared away at Shadowclan's border, Salamanderpaw is eager to head back with the rest. She flashes hawkish looks at her denmate all the while to see if she starts flagging in that odd way that she does, along with the occasional curious peek at Deerspark (to see if he drops first) and Sunsetgleam (just 'cause!) and likely jabbers on about how they totaly could've make that little stranger-wimp hurt and how she just WISHES he'd try to trespass like that again! and so on, so forth. In spite of the objective violence in what she's suggesting, Salamanderpaw doesn't look angry as much as she is gleeful. Bright. Now that the incident has passed, it's just an exciting thing to talk about.

And then they're home.

"We're back!! Saltmeadow Marsh was marshy. And meadowy. I didn't check if it was salty but it's all marked up good on our end and that's the important stuff. I'm...guessing Primroseadder's already reported the uhhh, the guy? The trespasser? Euck, he tried to give us his half-eaten fish! I know it's leafbare and all, but if we ever get that desperate I'll let you guys eat me before we eat stranger-guy-leftovers." She crinkles her nose.

"Ummmm anyway yay team and all. The warriors might have a better way to say all that stuff." This is where she cuts the chatter to let either of them report in.

Well, guess Salamanderpaw wasn’t waiting until she started telling Owlstar everything she saw earlier. “Other than the loner trespassing, there wasn’t any other problems; the border seems alright and the scent lines are exactly where they should be” good to think there wasn’t any further problems arising. That loner doesn’t seem like he’ll come back anytime soon and honestly? Unlike Salamanderpaw, Sunsetgleam was actually glad he might not be coming back anymore. They really didn’t need more unnecessary bloodshed over stupid things like stealing and eating fish on the clan’s territory. Only time’ll tell if Slushy ever comes back but..let’s pray that Slushy just goes back to wherever he came from or just anywhere he wouldn’t be causing problems for anyone (he did seem slightly clueless at first)

The Lionheart mewed as he approached his leader. "We've returned from the Smallpines border. Sharkhail is helping Wisteriawren to the warrior's den- she's due pretty soon now I'd imagine..." He said with a grin. Rowanmane was due to be a father soon- what's better than that? Anyways...

"The border has been marked, though it doesn't appear Starrypaw joined us."

Mudhaze pranced into camp and danced his way over to the leader. He didn't care whether or not the others were behind him. If they couldn't keep up, that was there fault! "Patrol is DONE. WindClan are being MASSIVE MEANIES but I was so totally awesome like always and told them off real good." He puffed out his chest. "Border is marked! You're welcome! The others were fine, I guess."

As they waited for Redsurge, Stagheart's gaze flickered over to Midnightpaw, giving him a nod in greeting. The apprentice seemed eager enough to be on patrol, which was nice; it was too cold out to worry about dragging along a grumpy or lazy cat.

Then Midnightpaw spoke, and the senior warrior grunted, his voice as dry (though not unkind) as ever. "Used 'em? Nah. Gotten 'em used on me? Plenty 'a times." The battle-scarred warrior's whiskers twitched in wryness. "Don't worry, I'll show ya. It'll be hard to find 'em out there, but if we're lucky, there'll be some growin' in sheltered dips or roots."

Hm... Redsurge hadn't showed, and they'd waited long enough. Heaving a sigh, Stagheart pushed to his paws, flicking with his tail to signal for Midnightpaw to follow him. As he was padding out, he spied another warrior lingering nearby — ah, Falconfire. A warrior he didn't really know well, but had seen around. She got things done, if he remembered correctly; that's just what they needed. He beckoned to her with a jerk of his muzzle, gruff but not unfriendly.

"Hey, Falconfire. Join us for the herb patrol, will ya? Headed for Seagrass Fields."

He waited for a moment to make sure the fellow warrior heard him before he ducked out of the camp entrance and headed into the forest.

Falconfire sat grooming her fur in the clearing as she watched the herb patrols being sent out. It was still very cold, but she didn’t care much anyway. There’d been harsher winters she could remember. She listened carefully as the patrols were sent out, waiting to hear if she’d be on one, but her name wasn’t called. Falconfire hated sitting around doing nothing, it made her feel useless, like she was wasting time. She was a little bit disappointed when she wasn’t called. 'Ach I’ll go hunting or something, no point sitting around here all day.' She thought to herself.

Just as Falconfire was about to get up and ask her former apprentice and friend Duskleaf to come hunting with her, her ears perked up as Stagheart invited her to join a hunting patrol. Huh, seems she would get to do it after all. Stagheart wasn’t a cat she knew particularly well, but he seemed reliable and devoted, the kind of cat she’d probably get on well with if they knew each other better. "Right so." She responded, stretching her legs as she stood up, following Stagheart and Midnightpaw out towards Seagrass Fields.
