His eyes peaked open to see who was addressing him this early. "Hell..o..?" he said groggily before widening his eyes at the warrior. Nectarpaw didn't expect to train, he's been laying low and doing..nothing for a while now. "Me?" he stuttered, blinking at the cat as if they'd grown two heads. He shook his head quickly, he shouldn't talk back to them! They were offering to help him!

Nectarpaw rose quickly to his paws before the warrior could change his mind. "Okay, okay, I'm ready." He meowed, a yawn almost rising out of his mouth. Currently he only knew a simple paw swipe, thanks to the late Bravebird. Otherwise his mentors did nothing to help train him, it was his other clanmates who did. Training with...Porcupinequill.. will be no different.

Porcupinequill smiled and quickly began walking out of the apprentice den. "Think of your knowledge of battle arts as a tree. It will start as a humble sapling, yet with my help, it will grow into a mighty oak. Or spruce if you prefer." The flamboyant tomcat chuckled as he walked out of camp. @nyc

Nectarpaw followed after the warrior, his nub tail flicking every now and again. The ginger tabby listened to warrior with interest. 'Well that's a strange way to put it.' He thought with a flick of his ear. "You're saying you'll help me improve as a warrior by helping me with battle training, right?" he offered. He sure hope that's what it meant..

@nyx Porcupinequill nodded, stopping at a small yet thick conifer tree with many claw marks on its trunk. "You see this? This tree has been here since I was born. It has seen as much as I have. I call it Everlastingheart." The agouti tom rambled, leaning against the tree. "Now how about we start. What do you know?"

Nectarpaw glanced up at the tree before flicking his gaze back to the warrior. Was this supposed to be Porcupinequill's 'sapling'? How is that possible? "Oh.. wow!" he smiled, not wanting to be rude about they're favorite tree. When Porcupinequill asked about his current knowledge he perked up.

"I was taught this." Nectarpaw took a few steps to the side before demonstrating. With more force than last time, he rose a paw upwards and drove it to the side, remembering how he used the move on that apprentice Lightningpaw. He placed his paw back onto the ground and looked up at the warrior. "Was that alright?"

[FANNIBAL]

"Strong swipe! Now double it. Rip with one, tear with the other." Porcupinequill said, demonstrating By rearing up slightly, swinging one paw, then slamming the other down in a way that was almost too ferocious for such a feminine tomcat. @nyx

"Okay, I can do that." he meowed. The ginger tabby tom rose himself onto his hindpaw's. He raised a paw to swipe but before he could bring down the other he's back legs wobbled. Nectarpaw fell to the ground, the paw he meant to bring down second splayed out in-front of him. "My balance..isn't..the best." he sighed, bringing his paws towards his so he can rise onto his paws again.

"It's okay, I wasn't the best either." The tom admitted, sitting down. "Try again, but if you don't get it, we can always come back to it." He meowed, flicking his black tail. @nyx
