The apprentice has dealt with change before but what happened at the last meeting was more than.. any change that she’s dealt with. Even now, Rosepaw was almost mad at her normal being changed so suddenly, and even though she knew that Bumblebreak stepping down wasn’t inherently a bad thing it was just- wrong. Spiderstar was a cat she has had rare interaction with, even her first patrol hadn’t been called by him but rather Risingstorm.

Well at least there were positives. New, trustworthy medicine cats and a deputy that even Rosepaw would’ve chosen should she have succeeded Bumblebreak ( Like she was supposed to. ). It didn’t make sleep any easier. Maybe even more annoying, and maybe even the real reason she was so upset was Kestrelpaw. Stupid Kestrelpaw. Rosepaw didn’t want to give her older sister a second more thought. But that only led to lying in her nest in the apprentice den for who knows how long before she finally fell asleep.

If only one thing went her way at this point, at least let it be Holly leaving Rosepaw alone for the night.

When Jaystride opted to find something more interesting to do, he wasn't expecting to run into a small child. At least she was ThunderClan, judging from her scent.

He wasn't used to just.. dreamers showing up, he was pretty sure StarClan had some system in place to filter that out. Looking back, he couldn't recall a time where that had happened, there was always something more to it.

Hell had more of a positive influence on the living though - funnily enough - so perhaps that was part of their differences. Ease of access. "Hey, kid."

Rosepaw jumped, and it was very dignified and that of a warrior, her fur bristling as she turned towards the source of the voice. It was a stranger, at least to the russet apprentice and it didn’t do any favors in calming her down. “Who are you?” She wasn’t sure, but at the same time, Rosepaw felt almost entirely sure that this was similar to where she had met Holly- did this stranger have ties to the annoyance or was it something else? “Why am I here?”

"I could ask you the same question." It wasn't without some amusement, at least. "It's Jaystride." As for the later, who the hell knew? Jaystride sure didn't.

He flicked his tail and settled down into more of a loaf, chilling and unconcerned. "I didn't invite you, so either you wanted to come or someone else wanted you. Haven't seen many cats around, though."

Rosepaw didn't calm down until she recalled the name mentioned at the last meeting, the name she hadn't recognized, why was he here talking to her though? At least she knew now that Jaystride was at least a little but trustworthy, or rather wasn't an immediate threat. "You gave Spiderstar his life, yes? That's what he said last meeting." She questioned, though it was really to reassure herself more than anything. The rest of Jaystride's words confused her...

Rosepaw settled onto her haunches and glanced away in a thinking habit before returning her gaze to the spirit, "I see. I don't know why I would be here on my own... but there is someone here that seems stubborn about bothering me and Thunderclan." Hey wait a second, if Jaystride was a ghost then wouldn't he also know about Holly? Or at least, could look into if the spirit was actually a threat or some kit still playing pretend post death. "Actually, her name is Holly, previously thunderclan before being exiled by Bumblebreak. Less than a moon later and she's attempting to scare me from the afterlife. Do you know of her? I don't believe she's worth a second thought but I don't want to brush it off should she actually hold some power against Thunderclan."

"Someone had to." Simple as that. Jaystride wasn't interested in beating around the lives bush, not anymore. If he thought Spiderstar could hold a candle to Bumblebreak's flame he would've dropped the earn-it dungheap and ended that game, but the issue was he wasn't confident. Wouldn't be, until Spiderstar grew into the role. So, work for his food it was.

A tip of his head, a short hum. "Doesn't sound familiar, but I'll tell you what, kid. The living has always held more power than the dead - that's why you're living. Whoever this Holly is can hiss and spit and act all tough, but that's all it's ever gonna be: an act. You let her control you, she's in control - but stop and she can't."
