Adderfang had liked being around Sparkpaw when they hung out last but it was obvious to the older warrior that the young molly needed to learn some humility and self judgement before it got her killed. She wasn't judgemental no, Adderfang was the exact same way when she was that young, but she'd seen so many of her peers die to their ego and she refused to see it in a generation she, as a warrior, was tasked with bringing to adulthood. So in a decision to simultaneously drive some teamwork ideals into her own apprentices skull and show them why they they defiantly needed it she rounded up Sparkpaw and Marigoldpaw and brought them to a isolated clearing walking in silence to let them get acquainted.

Marigoldpaw was still have half asleep as Adderfang led her and some other apprentice(Sparkpaw she believed)towards a clearing. The golden furred apprentice let out a grunt and shook her head trying to wake herself up. It mostly worked. After another moment of walking in silence she mewed, “Adderfang what are we doing here?.

Turning to face Marigoldpaw--whom she knew nothing about, save that she was Adderfang's apprentice--Sparkpaw smiled. "We're going to do a bit of training, I hear. If you're up to the challenge that is."

In truth, Sparkpaw had no idea what was in store for this trip. She could only assume Adderfang enjoyed her company so much that she wanted more of it. That's why she got an invitation, right? The thought of that pleased Spark, because likewise, the cream-colored apprentice enjoyed Adder's company as well. The molly was smart, gruff, and witty-- clearly a fearsome warrior too. Girl's day off had been a fabulous success. But what about today, when relaxation wasn't really on the agenda? Sparkpaw would just have to wait and see.

“Oh I’m always up for it!” Marigoldpaw almost growled as she grinned. She was so read to fight! Or hunt....or whatever! Though she did want to beat someone up! That was fun. The golden furred apprentice shot a curious glance Sparkpaw. Why was she here? Because they needed another apprentice to train? Or we she and Adderfang friends? That last one was odd. Marigoldpaw didn’t think most warriors befriended apprentice’s but hey! Who knew!

"Sparkpaw is correct we are here to do some training today. First you two will be doing a little spar to get an idea of how eachother fight and potentially determine who is farther along in their training by finding a victor, I expect you both to give it your all I will be calling out corrections, then we will move on to duo fighting against me. You will need duo fighting in the future as an essential skill for fighting someone bigger or stronger then you or even just taking down a foe quicker so you best pay attention. Now whenever you're ready to begin, begin. Claws in but no blows held back, bruises help you learn."

Adderfang was in full lecture mode words emotionless and hard with her barking them out with the weight of an experienced warrior who expected to be obeyed. Marigoldpaw was certainly used to this but to Sparkpaw this would probably be a major change from her relaxed and content mood last they interacted. The large molly stepped back to give the two room, expecting Marigoldpaw to strike first but curious how this was to go. Trial by fire, just her specialty.

Marigoldpaw grinned even more. Yes. Yes. Yesssssss! More fighting! Whooo hoooooo! This was going to be so fun! “Good luck!” She mewed to Sparkpaw as she dropped into a basic fighting stance. She acted as if she was going to let the other apprentice strike first but then she bolted. Forcing herself to sheath her claws she tried to whack Sparkpaw’s side. Just a basic move not much danger without claws. She’d only used it on a windclanner with claws unsheathed once so she was curious whether it’d work or not.
