Re: ShadowClan Territory
Dandelionglow’s small paws lightly pranced around, her short pelt shivering from the cold, but the excitement emitting from her provides a natural warmth. The gray tabby was like a beaming ray of sunshine, a little excited about everything,
Which wasn’t unusual for how sweet natured she could be. Albeit, most times her natural kindness was easy to take advantage of since she had a peculiar sense of naivety of a small kit, curious and observant all the same. She made footprints in the snow, a light breeze ruffled her fur up the wrong way and she refused to succumb to the shiver. Dandelionglow thought it was the perfect time to hunt. She wasn’t very good at it, especially not in these weather conditions, but she would try. Her ears flicked casually, snowflakes dropping from them.
She padded slowly through the snow, her jaws parted when the scent of something familiar wafted into her nose, but since she wasn’t all that great at hunting, she kinda had a hard time distinguishing the scents of different prey. It was really hard for her and she didn’t know why. With the snow, it didn’t make it all the better. So, when she assumed she smell mice, she recklessly powered through to try and clamp her jaws around the critter, but ended up missing the killing blow. She almost cried out in frustration. So many cats made hunting seem like a no big deal but it was certainly a big deal for this beaming ray of sunshine. And, that mouse she thought it was? It wasn’t even a mouse.

Redpool huffed and stood up, watching Poolpaw leave. His head was tilted slightly, pale yellow eyes fixed on the young tom for a moment. He felt that pointing out that he'd just eaten and was no longer particularly hungry wouldn't change Hare's opinion. Wrapping his tail over his paws, Redpool looked at his mate for a moment. “I wish it hadn't taken me so long to get back, but I'm glad I'm here,” he said. He felt guilty about leaving her to raise Poolpaw alone, although he knew it wasn't his fault, and he couldn't have prevented it.

With an absent mentor she tended to go out and practice things in her own and with all this snow this was the perfect time for practicing navigating through it. Snow hide scents and covered tracks unless it wasn't currently snowing, which it was at the moment. The white flecks dotted her black fur so much she looked like a splotchy night sky. Hearing the toms next words she couldn't help but agree, she any apprentice needs practice hunting in the snow. " Sure, I could use some practice and I'm sure the Clan is short on prey since it's this cold. " Blackpaw would add puffing out a breath to clear some snowflakes from her whiskers.

"Exactly," Palepaw nodded, "leafbare is always harsh." He noticed that despite shaking the snow off his fur from his fall, more was already building up on his fur again, beginning to cover the orange splotches on his white fur. He decided not to shake it off now, hoping it instead might make for some kind of camouflage.
"The prey's probably too scared to stick around here, though, since I wasn't exactly running stealth-fully. We could head further from camp, though, and if we head against the wind, we ought to catch some prey-scent eventually." Palepaw hoped that he would be able to return to camp having at least accomplished something.
((Leafbare is kind of over by now IRL, but since this RP started a while ago, we can just pretend it's still happening until this is over.))

A flash a white darted our from the underbrush, shredding snow with each powerful gait before leaping and coming down onto dandilionglows shrew, sinking his claws into the already injured prey and crouching over to nip the flesh around its neck before sitting back up with satisfaction. For a brief moment troutsplash sat in the snow admiring the catch before turning to the grey she cat standing not to far away, a brief smile flickered over his maw and he stood. She looked discounted, and who wouldn’t be after missing a shrew. Especially one of such size anyways.
‘ ‘ hey, dandelionglow right? ‘ ‘ troutsplash had never met her before, but he’d heard the name and could put the face to the pelt. He stood nagging the shrew with his teeth and padding towards her, his tail flicking behind him and dropping the shrew at her paws. ‘ ‘ you chased that shrew right to me without even know it! It almost looked planned ‘ ‘ he said with a lopsided smile, his brown eyes gleaming with amusement. The grey she cat looked like she could use a pick me up, and seeing her so discouraged over a missed catch reminded him of how clumsy he had been as a kitten. Overtime he’d learned how to gain control of his lanky limbs and here he was the best hunter in shadowclan. ‘ ‘ I’m troutsplash by the way ‘ ‘ he said proudly before dropping back onto his haunches and grinning in an almost stupid way.

"I know you Redpool. Stop. It was out of your paws. I'm just glad you're here and Poolpaw can learn from you too. He could use some help with his battle skills. He knows how to fight a one eyed cat, but not one with all senses." Harethorn was not about to let her mate shoulder unneeded guilt again.

Red's whiskers twitched, but he was grateful for her words. “I know,” he sighed, getting unsteadily to his paws. “I'll help him in whatever way that I can, once I'm able,” he added, shaking snow from his fur and staggering slightly as he did. In his current condition, even an elder would make a better opponent than he. Licking his chest fur in embarrassment at the thought, he then looked at Harethorn. “Either way, from what I remember, you're just as formidable opponent as any other cat,” he purred, remember moons ago when they'd fought in battles together. He wondered if there had been more such battles since he'd last been here, but he thought it better not to ask.

Harethorn gave an amused hum at that, flicking her tail slightly as she stretched her front legs out in front of herself and let out a yawn. "I could never beat you though." She saud with a barely concealed grin. "You're probably one of the best fighters Shadowclan has seen."

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Duskpaw smiled and raced out of the camp with her. His slightly longer legs allowed him to catch up, but he was having a hard time finding a way around her so he could pass her. Ill have to find another way win. He thought, stubbornly trying to win. For where they were going, he spotted a densely-packed trail that he would be able to use as a shortcut. Risky, but worth it if he won. He peeled off to the side from behind Ivypaw and hoped she wouldn't notice. @.:Virgo:.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Scorchingclaw sprinted once he had exited the camp, the breeze ruffling his hair as he passed by the other hunting cats. He felt better now. He had wanted to get away from camp, wanted to feel the fresh air, wanted to be away from the cramped warriors den. Scorchingclaw saw a frog out of the corner of his eye, but left it. He had just wanted to escape from the other cats. He looked up at the tall pine trees and the cloudy sky. He looked up, craning his neck. Was StarClan watching over him right now? He came back to his senses when he heard pawsteps behind him. Scorchingclaw turned his head around. I should have gone farther out by the borderHe thought.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Hazel eyes flickered around the grass. Robincall stalked a bird, carefully to insure nothing would go wrong. His body laid close to the grown, watching his steps. Despite not being able to hear, Robincall made sure he could hunt. Although he only got half of what he hunted. His ears lied flat as the bird poked at the seeds on the ground, one mistake and the prey would be gone. Robin took a short breath, his paws moving forward, and then, snap! The loud crack of a twig scared the bird, sending it flying in the air. His eyes looked down, angered at his sloppy mistake. He twisted around tossing the stick away with his paw before letting out a small sigh.
