ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Flamekit’s eyes lit up at the mention of the Trjbe of Whispering Willows (I made up a name since we can’t go off of a Tribe from the series). In all honesty, how could any kittypet create a Tribe or Clan? They have no sense of what it’s like to live in the forest!
“I think it was a rogue who started it!” Flamekit lifted her paw and began to clean the fur that had popped up behind her ear. “Kittypets are too cowardly and too attached to their Twolegs to even step out of their territory!”

Foxclaw chuckled.
"You would be quite surprised to find that once in a full moon, kittypets do come out from the twoleg holds to fondle in the forest, as dangerous as it seems." The elder purred loving to educate the future generation of warriors. @Rocky_Road_Kee @SpiritedWarrior

“Really?” Flamekit found it hard to believe, even though Foxclaw herself has probably seen a kittypet venture outside its territory. “Seems strange… considering they can’t hunt or fight like us. Don’t they know how dangerous life is outside of their comfortable nests? Or are they that mouse-brained?”

The elder twitched her whiskers in amusement.

"Most likely a bit of both!"

She purred.
"Why don't you go ask Sundust for some mouse bile, these ticks are getting unbearable...When you come back, me and RosePetal will continue our story, hm?" FoxClaw was a little dramatic, sure, but she didn't mean any harm, and she thought good to give a future apprentice duties that they moght have!

At the thought of mouse bile, Flamekit grimaced, but she decided to not complain, besides it wasn't her dealing with ticks! With a nod, Flamekit turned and walked out of the elder's den and went to the medicine cat den.

Now entering the Medicine Cat's den, Flamekit looked around and went towards the storage to make room for Pineleap and Snowcloud. Even though she was smaller than the two warriors, she liked the thought of them having plenty of space to move over when Sundust or Rosepaw made an appearance.

"Sundust!" Flamekit yowled as loud as she could. "I need mouse bile for Foxclaw's ticks, do you have any?"

Seeing Buckbranch nearly jump out of his pelt was enough to send a quiver of amusement through her, resulting in the slight twitch of her whiskers. It was clear that the tom was not expecting any other cat to be up at this time of night, but often Cinderstar was. She was thankful for that, too, for it appeared that there might be something of interest going on behind those familiar eyes.

"The den still feels... odd. After moons off sleeping around my Clanmates, I suppose I am still getting used to the quiet. Was it like that for you when you moved from the warriors den into the leaders' den?" A gentle segway into the conversation as blue eyes flickered over his appearance then briefly back up to the night time sky. One by one the stars of Silverpelt twinkled in greeting.

Though she could still feel Buckbranch's gaze on her so she dropped hers again and glanced back over at him. It was clear now to detect the faint trace of Twolegplace underneath the ThunderClan scent, and it was something she did wish to question him on; but for now she would make for simple talk.

Buckbranch let his chin fall to rest on his forepaws as he settled down onto his stomach. "Yeah," he answered. "It definitely was. I mean, I had Duskfeather with me for the very first night, but... every night after that, until I had Glidingfeather or- or Eveningstar as my deputy, it was quiet."

There was a certain bitterness in his tone, though it was only a small trace, unclear of who it was directed at, and faded only after a moment. He fiddled with a clump of grass beneath his claws. "The den's big enough for two cats. You could always drag Sparrowflight in with you."

He looked at her for a second or two longer before puffing out a sigh and rolling onto his back so that he could stare up at the stars, forepaws tucked up to his chest. "Might make things a little less lonely and quiet. I know it can't exactly be easy."

Snowkit jumped slightly as Cinderstar lay next to her, she hadn’t noticed her come in. The words hit her like a physical blow and she clung to Cinderstar’s paw. Violetkit was alone out there, where anything could happen to her. What if she never saw her sister again? The tension of holding back the tears and anxiety burst and she began to sob, the tears dampening her fur as she went to press herself into Cinderstar’s side for comfort. “This my fault, isn’t it?” She managed to choke out between sobs. “I couldn’t stop her. If only I’d gotten you, or was able to keep her in camp-“

A new round of sobs broke her off. If she had been able to keep her in camp, blocked off the exit, or gotten her to go back into the nursery, but she couldn’t, because she was a cripple, and she hadn’t been able to do anything but watch as Violetkit ran out of camp. “I wish I wasn’t a cripple!” She burst out, a tone of half self hatred, and half helplessness. “I could have done something, I could have helped.” It was true, she knew it, and she was sure everyone else knew it to. Would they blame her? They should.
