Dappled golden sunlight shone into the small tunnel as Loona jolted awake from her nap. Where was she?! How did she get here? Loona opened her mouth in the dim den and smelled reeds, the river, and... the fading scent of dog.
That's right! Loona shivered as she remembered being cornered by a loose dog, his mouth foaming and the strange twoleg reed tied to his neck dangling behind him as he chased her through the forest. Exhausted from days of being unable to catch prey, she dipped into the den she was currently hiding in and decided to wait him out. Somehow, despite the adrenaline, she had fallen asleep in the den.

Now, however... well, it seemed safe enough. The scent was stale and fading and it certainly was a lot darker when she first came into the den. Hesitantly, the young beige she-cat pulled herself from the den and, to her surprise, found herself next to the river. She quickly trotted over to it and began to drink, not realizing how thirsty she was in the first place.

@implimm @:Grimm:

Petuniapaw trotted behind Sassyfire with a spring in her step. She so excited. Everything seems to just fall into place sense she came back. Plus there were flowers out here! There wasn't many in camp because cats picked them but out here you could find them coming up all over the place. Maybe I can pick some... The apprentice thought looking at all the different wild flowers.
Her attention was taken by the warrior's question, Petuniapaw's amber eyes turning to them in the proses. "Why wouldn't I come home?" She returned the question, trotting to Sassafrasfire's side. "Mister Fallenstream, -star back then, found me when I was a kit. I thought he was going to eat me!" Petuniapaw laughed. "But I was staving and he brought me to RiverClan and gave me a home. I had never really had a home before sense my mom got killed when my brother and I were real little. So, finding a home here was really awesome! Besides, I got lost and really missed it here, that's why I was so excited to come! Even if I learned almost everyone I know isn't here anymore. I get to finish growing up here, make friends and become a warrior! I couldn't do any of that if I never came to RiverClan." The patchy apprentice explained. Her demeanor wasn't the same as it was before, not as bouncy. Yet, Petuniapaw still shot a cheeky smile. "I also wouldn't have met you if I didn't Mister Ms. Sassyfire." After that she went back to just trotting beside her mentor watching the land. She really had missed it here, even if she hadn't gotten to be out in the territory much.
By the time Sassyfire warned them that someone else was there Petuniapaw had a flower hanging from her mouth. It was a little purple flower, a violet possibly. "Okay." The white and ginger tabby patched apprentice almost whispered. It was quiet and muffed but she did let Sassyfire take the lead. She never had something like this when she was out one of those rare times she had been out before she got lost.
It didn't take them long to find this cat who Sassyfire seemed to recognize as a warrior named Thorntail. Petuniapaw didn't know him at all but would leave it to Mister Ms. Sassyfire. Only think was, she would peek out around her mentor's legs. As if she was a kit peering around her mother because she was nosy. "He doesn't smell like RiverClan anymore." Petuniapaw commented her voice a bit muffled by the flowers she'd picked up.

[ @FireSandwich apologies for the delay! i've got a lot of other things to respond to, lol ]

"Ok, sure, we have food," Hailfire snapped back, trailing after Lilytail. "For now. But what if that mutt tastes nasty and everyone decides to eat normally, and then we run out? What then?" She lashed her tail and sprang after the other she-cat, skidding to a halt in front of her. "Who CARES what the other Clans think? Not me, that's who. The Gathering's probably already almost over, anyway. There wouldn't be much point in going."

[ @Dipper]
Fawnsqueak trudged through the forest at a slow pace, gait wobbly on the rougher terrain that jostled his injured leg more than he would've liked. Just to the river, he told himself, then he would return to camp and consider it a successful exercise in maintaining his strength while he healed. During a pause to catch his breath, he soaked in the serenity of hearing the creek nearby, and... an unfamiliar scent drifted through his senses. He tensed, motionless, until he slowly lowered himself to the ground. It was a cat, perhaps in the territory or had been here recently.

Slinking through the undergrowth was a far less stealthy endeavor when his wound made his movements awkward, but he soon caught sight of the unknown intruder. She didn't seem... dangerous, thankfully. With caution, Fawnsqueak unraveled from his crouch to call out, "Hey! You're.. in RiverClan territory-- you can't be here."

Loona's tail shot straight up in alarm as she jumped away from the river as if it burned her. Exhaustion made her clumsy, though, and she tripped over her own paws, falling onto her side.

Embarassed and winded, Loona leaped to her paws and finally took a look at the other cat and relaxed when she noticed the ginger cat approaching her was alone and seemed to be favouring a leg. He sounded annoyed, but certainly not dangerous... yet.

"Riverclan territory?" She asked slowly, squinting as she tried to understand. "Your name is 'Riverclan'- Oh! You're those wild cats, right?" Excitement sparked in her amber eyes as she remembered, but she kept her distance from the warrior, still a bit hesitant.

[ @Slushie ]

Lilytail paused. ‘Mouse dung! She's right. I missed it again.’ She turned back around. “Fine. You're right. Where do you want to go next?” The molly padded towards Hailfire. ‘I'm too tired to even care at this point. “Well, I'll follow you, I guess.”

The fainting goat of a cat had Fawnsqueak rearing back in mild alarm to examine her, blinking with wide eyes at the unpredictable reaction. "Yeah," he repeated, distracted by his own inquisitive nature that wondered who she was, "RiverClan territory." Definitely an outsider, not a fellow Clan cat. Such encounters were a rarity for Fawnsqueak, and he inwardly struggled to determine how to proceed.

Fawnsqueak's head tilted. "Sort of... I guess?" he confirmed, lukewarm. He didn't perceive them as 'wild cats' but stifled a giddy giggle thinking about it, the thought tickled him. "We live in... in a group, basically-- which is called RiverClan, and we defend this stretch of land as our own because it's where we hunt and train and stuff. But uh, the problem is that you're kind of on it."

"Riverclan, eh?" Loona glanced at the river then back at the cat. He seemed friendly enough. She relaxed a bit more, but remained cautious, glancing towards where he had come from, worried about the aforementioned "group". He didn't seem like a threat, but Loona hadn't met his friends- they could be a problem. She blinked out of her thoughts as she realized what Fawnsqueak was getting at, and shook her pelt out.

"O-Oh! Sorry, yeah, I didn't mean to! I was getting chased by a dog early this morning and was just trying to get away. I totally didn't notice any borders..." Loona smiled weakly, embarrassed. Quietly, more to herself, she added "Not that I would really know what that looks like..."

The mention of a dog had his ears swiveling on sudden high alert, and he stretched to peer beyond her as if expecting the animal to come barreling toward them. "Oh," he replied in a dry squeak of a word when he remembered he should probably say something, "that's... well, I'm glad you're okay..?" His mind was elsewhere: sensing for the dog, formulating an escape plan, remembering he'd have to report to Lionstar.

He'd almost forgotten there was still an outsider in front of him that needed to leave the territory. Fawnsqueak returned his attention to her with an awkward scuff of his paw in the dirt. "If the dog's gone, you're... good to go, right? Don't need to hang around here anymore? Since it's kind of... yeah." They'd covered the whole "territory" concept before, he assumed they didn't need it again.

"Right! Um... well..." Loona hesitated, glancing towards what she assumed was the direction she had come from, and back at Fawnsqueak. He looked... healthy. Well fed. Despite his injury, which seemed to have had medical attention. She shifted her weight between her paws, thinking of how hard life had been since her mother had chased her and her siblings off. She glanced at her own skinny form and ruffled fur and couldn't help but feel embarrassed.

"Sorry to be a bit forward, but uh..." Loona hesitated. It wouldn't hurt to ask, right? So far this cat had been extremely polite to her, even though she was intruding on his clan's territory. It didn't hurt to ask.

"Listen, I've been on my own for a few moons and well... in case you haven't noticed, it's not going well. I... well, I don't really know how this 'Riverclan' works, but if you had space... When there's prey around I'm normally a decent hunter and can hold my own, I can even swim and fish! Er..." Loona glanced at her paws, embarrassed, but shook her head and met the tom's eyes confidently.

"I know I've just met you, but would I be able to join your Riverclan?"
