She had already been aware of the feline's suspicions, but hearing Sorreltuft say them out loud made her cringe and laugh just as nervously, her golden eyes averting themselves from the handsome tom.

Oh StarClan, no - she had no right to think of him as handsome. He was taken. She had missed her chance, she hadn't realized it quickly enough, and now he was gone from her forever. Well - from a romantic standpoint, anyways. At least they would always be best friends. It had been a while since they had first met, and a while since she had considered Sorreltuft to be her best friend... well, since they were mutually considered best friends. Thankfully Caracalfrost always had some smart remark loading in her mind, and now was no exception - surprised though she had been by this confession. "Oh, well we'd better be careful then, huh? With such an obviously romantic relationship, we're going to have to be hiding all the time." She laughed, even though she was trying to sound serious. Her golden eyes lit up. Yes, making fun of the other she cat always seemed to brighten up her day - even though she always felt bad for making it sound like she hated Sorreltuft's mate so much. But oh well... maybe Everwhisper deserved it. The she cat was awful. And Caracalfrost didn't like her one bit.

"For real, though, what are we going to do about that? Doesn't she have any tom friends?" The feline tried her best not to let her dislike for the other cat show through. Always she had supported her best friend, and while she felt bad for bringing up the subject and wasn't quite sure why she was staying on it, she wasn't going to let on to her dislike. However obvious it might be (though she tried to hide it) and whatever Everwhisper had told her beloved mate. It was just too bad that that love wasn't one sided - if only there was a way to let Sorreltuft have freedom again. Maybe, just maybe, if she was to get a do-over... the she cat would be able to tell her best friend that she loved him. That she had for a long time. Or maybe she would find the courage anyways... though that was doubtful. She wasn't here to wreck his current relationship. She was here to help him, and provide a getaway for his precious (and annoying) mate.

Sorreltuft always found Caracalfrost's remarks incredibly amusing, often leading him towards laughter and even embarrassing snorts. This time, though, he could only offer a weak smile. Lately, he's been incredibly cautious about anything involving Everwhisper, as if she was hiding behind every bush, listening in on his conversations. However, he didn't want Caracalfrost to feel bad for either failing to make him laugh or causing him uneasiness, so he forced a small chuckle. Whenever he laughed or smiled, his eyes would narrow; he would squint. He couldn't help it, as his cheekbones seemed to decide to rise so high that they basically squeezed his eyes shut.

Of course, he didn't want anything more in this moment than to laugh with Caracalfrost about Everwhisper's skepticism and possessiveness. Unfortunately, Sorreltuft's strong commitment to his mate denied him the ability to do so. Or rather, Sorreltuft's opinion on the entire topic wouldn't allow him to genuinely laugh as much as he desired. He was too depressed - caused by his situation with Everwhisper - to so much as laugh about it. Sorreltuft nearly cried thinking about it, but he refused to let the tears surface. After all, he'd gotten himself into this mess.

After half-heartedly chuckling, Sorreltuft shook his head. ``No, actually, I think she's really committed to me.`` He sighed sadly. ``I just feel so guilty - I wasn't very committed to her.`` And I don't think I'll ever genuinely be. Yet his gentleman nature forced him to remain by Everwhisper's side. It was partly his fault they had kits so young when they could've been living life to the fullest. It was his duty, as a father, to look after them and make sure they were as happy as possible. He also felt that if he left Everwhisper, she'd be heartbroken, and he wouldn't dare hurt his former best friend. Basically, Sorreltuft just couldn't win.

(I'm so sorry it took me forever to respond! My life got really crazy all of a sudden. But I'm back for now! I'm planning on having Flamewhiskers catch Dustpaw at least once before Dustpaw succeeds.)

Dustpaw nodded, flicking an ear as his mentor spoke. He was slightly larger around than other apprentices his age, but he had a feeling he could use it to his advantage in the rocky area near the river banks. "Okay, Flamewhiskers." He mewed, waiting as his mentor padded away. The grey apprentice opened his mouth slightly, tasting the air.

Lucky nodded along as he mentor spoke, taking in the warm air and sunshine with glee. Skunkbelly veered off to the left and Nightpaw followed, "ok," she agreed at once, wondering what she'd see out here in the forest. Her nose was alive with a thousand scents and the trickle of the river sang along with the birds in the treetops. Nightpaw felt more alive than ever out here.

Goldeneye had been almost lost in his thoughts, weaving through Riverclan territory. He had practically forgotten why he was out here, and with Tempestjay of all cats, and, if he had to be honest, that unnerved him a bit. He needed to calm himself down, that was clear enough. However, the panic attacks always seemed to be stalking him, waiting for the worst moment to pounce. Was this what it was like for prey? He had no idea, as he was always the one hunting prey. Anxiety. That was the word for what he always seemed to be feeling. It hadn't been that crazy as a kit, or his early moons as an apprentice, but over time, it slowly began to bleed into him. It hadn't been that bad as a warrior either, but as soon as he became deputy, Goldeneye had always felt that large weight on his back. It was a horrible feeling, but he had to smile through it, and act strong, even when it felt like his body, and mind, were being torn apart. Now, with Shadowclan staying with Riverclan, it basically wore the tom out, even when he wasn't doing anything. Sleep was practically unknown to him, and he still didn't know how he hadn't died. He knew he needed to take better care of himself, but he didn't know how to do it. No matter that. This wasn't exactly the time to be pondering these kinds of things. Snapped back to attention by Tempestjay, he looked at the tom. "Starclan knows," he mumbled. He saw the mud and jumped over it, barely missing the brown substance. Really, how Riverclan lived and how they lived was unknown to him. Eating fish and swimming? That confused him so much. Then again, the Riverclan cats seemed to get along just fine, so you never really knew. They were better off then the other clans at some times, however, when it came to droughts, Golden doubted they did very well, since most fish seemed to vanish then.

A tom with fur of the night with the mix of rainy clouds was slowly walking into the wet forest. His hunger and thirst completely ignored the scent of others and his .. memories kept him busy as well. He eventually leans against a tree trying to catch his breath slowly and carefully. " he's worthless! Not worthy of the group! We should just kill him!" Said a tom he always saw as a powerful and strong warrior... his half brother. He yelled at a tom who he desperately wanted to impress someone he looked up to... his own father who just huffs softly. " fine do what you want " he said ... so coldly like I wasn't worthy of feeling despite being his ... son. Fine! I don't need worth! I'll show you- the memory soon faded as his eye settled on the dead mouse. The tom touched the X scar on his chest old with memories of pain and a desperate need to make someone who saw him as worthless no matter what he did.. even if he killed his brother just to earn it. He laughs dryly as he sits down looking at it. His stomach roared with hunger but his heart told him that .. he wasn't worth it. He growls softly remembering the last word his old man called him when he proved his worth. When he killed over and over again leaving only bloodstains memories of his family behind... he was called a monster. He begins to touch the dead mouse " ... forgive me... I know I'm not worthy of your life. I'm a monster of a man. I can't even make one old tom proud and my mother left me to die..." a small tear falls down his good eye as he looks away " I'm not worth it"

Just as goldeneye scaled the jump he tunred back around and padded down the path. Tail flicking with amusement as he looked back over his shoulder a final time. Tempestjay found it quite funny how he normally towered over cats. Though he had been the one to hit the mud he could have easily leapt over the puddle. Others with shorter apendages couldn't do that so easily. Smugly he remarked, "I suppose your going to get a good leg workout huh? All this jumping" he mused. Picking up the lace until he was at trotting speed. Perhaps he should mention Bella? The fact he knew who Bella was without goldeneye knowing of it was very painful. As tempestjay thought on the matter, wether or not he should mention it suddnely a sniffle caught his Attenion. The Tom slowed down and turned his head. Ears perked. He raised his tail and pressed it onto goldeneyes shoulder quickly. Eyeing the foliage just across the clearing. His ears pinned to the sides of his head and got into a crouch. Now he was now at a regular height for an average cat in his crouch. Than he peeked around the bush keeping his tail straight outwards. Than he spotted a Tom laying on his side with prey between his paws. "INTRUDER!" shrieked tempestjay jumping backwards in suprise.

Lucifer jumps when he hears someone yell. He immediately gets up his eye widened in fear however his muscles tensed as he begins to hiss loudly. " stay away it's mine!" He yells mostly out of instinct. But he was stepping back his tail slashing the air as he watches them. Two warriors one handsome the other interesting. But now was not the time to stare. He growls loudly " who are you?! What gang are you in?! Did my brother sent you!?" @Royal
