Rosesight felt guilty. Sure she had hunted down her own brother. Sure her own kits had passed. But she left.. She didn't tell Flint anything. Her best friend and she said nothing. The pure albino sighed, head down as she got up, starting to head out.

Rosesight. The cat who decided to leave when they needed people. He groomed his numb paw idly in the clearing while he thought. One of the few things he had that might be considered closest to an old friend. He at least had trusted her for a while. Not much of that was left, anymore. He had better things to think about than a cat who had left them to go on some self-proposed mission. This would've been a completely different matter if she had said anything. It wasn't like Thunderclan cats were against serving well deserved justice, after all.

And, there she was. Coming out of the warriors den. Rosesight was back and looking like she had nothing to do. His tail flicked. He could just let her drown in trying to find out everything that had happened while she was gone. So far, she hadn't asked him any questions. He decided that he would answer any questions she asked him, if she asked him any questions. Otherwise, perhaps it was well deserved for her to live in utter confusion for a while.

Roses crimson eyes shifted towards Flintclaw, and she practically bit down on her tongue. He hated her. He hated her. Hated. Hated. Hated. Roses ears pinned down as she padded up slowly, uncertain, as if approaching a Predator. "Care yo join me to go hunting? Id like to know what I missed, you being deputy and the whole wolfhawk thing-" She murmured, ears down. Just the ignorance of her best friend towards her was killing her.

Stars, Rosesight looked pitiful. Ears pinned down and all. The dark tabby finally looked at her, face stoic and apathetic to her nervous attitude. Hunting and updates on the clan's situation. Despite his distaste, he refused to fail in his duties as a deputy. It was a sworn oath he had made, and the dark tabby would not fail Spiderstar just because he wanted to ignore the newly returned clanmate.

"Fine," He rumbled coolly, getting to his paws and padding towards the entrance of camp. "You obviously know I'm deputy. Spiderstar took over when Bumblebreak stepped down." He rasped, walking slowly. He supposed there was a lot that happened. He was going to have to talk a lot, wasn't he? Gross. It was almost becoming normal for him to speak. Between Rosepaw, Pineblossom, and Reddove he had been growing far more talkative than he liked. On top of that, his duties as a deputy forced him to communicate even more.

Right, she wouldn't know about Fadingpaw, and he doubted the pitiful apprentice was going and talking to anyone as of late. "There were two battles with the otters," He rasped after making sure Rosesight was still with him now that he was outside camp. "The first battle was a failure. We were caught off guard by their power. They took lives from Bumblestar." He didn't even bother to bring up Sunstreak. The waste of breath had not only been late, but he'd gone and immediately been knocked out by an otter. The best thing he did was become a distraction while everyone else fled.

"We were destroyed and came back to camp in pieces. Bumblestar stayed unconscious for weeks. Spiderthroat, at the time and despite his injuries, had to take over and direct the medicine cats and their helpers during the whole thing. Flintclaw realized he might actually have to talk to Treetiger about some general healing basics in case he ever found himself in the same position that Spiderstar had been in. He knew the basics, at least. "Bumblestar lost another life because of Wolfhawk and Hollowpaw's neglect, so Spiderthroat demoted Wolfhawk and not long after Hollowpaw self-exiled. He named Treetiger as the new medicine cat and then took a second, successful group out to kill the otters.

"When Bumblestar woke up, she forced Wolfpaw, at the time, to change his name. He was not deserving of it. So he chose Fadingpaw. Next day, she stepped down and took a place amongst the Hornets, though right now she is still healing." The deputy still felt a bit conflicted about her stepping down. She had been the only leader he had known his entire life with Thunderclan. He was certainly not upset anymore, since it had turned out quite well for him. "Once she stepped down, Spiderstar took over. He named me deputy, and Dragonflypaw medicine cat apprentice." Flintclaw certainly appreciated the new leader's urgency in filling the ranks back up. It left no room for the clan to feel the absence.

That seemed about it. They found themselves in a random clearing somewhere in thunderclan's general territory. He sniffed the air. As was the norm with Newleaf, the scent of prey wafted easily to his nose. His icy eyes turned once more to Rosesight. "Any questions?" He asked, voice monotone. He wanted her to know that he was doing this out of duty. It did cross his mind that he didn't need to go hunting with her. Let that be a show of his last shreds of respect still held for her. It wasn't like he hated her as much as he hated the medicine cat that left them.

Maybe she deserved it. No, she definitely deserved it. She left her clan for her own judgment mission. That deserved the hatred her own best friend gave her. She deserved to leave... Maybe she should. If her own best friend wanted nothing to do with her, why shouldn't she leave? It wouldn't get any worse anyways. Perhaps shadowclan would take her. Flint wouldn't miss her anyhow. The beautiful albino looked away, lost in her thoughts ad she listened to what the deputy said. "I see." she murmured every now and then, listening to the updates.

The albino lunged into the tree with a few, easy bounds, looking at him, there was something that lured behind her, unable to be seen by her, but it was there, it's presence was a malicious grin as it seemed to whisper to her. (Only flint would be able to see this, but he doesn't have too) "He hates you rosebud.. just like your own kits. Why did you ever leave? why didn't you stay? Your kits died anyways and it's all your fault.." It whispered, eyes gleaming. Rosesight's ears seemed to pin at thr words, as she forced herself to swallow.

"I know what I did was wrong Flint. And I'm sorry I left.. but there were my babies.. I don't get why you can't understand that." She said.

Rosesight seemed pretty distant as the dark tabby spoke. Flintclaw could understand that. She had lost quite a bit. She leaped up into a tree, forcing the deputy to crane his neck to look up at her. He certainly didn't see whatever hallucination was bothering her, nor had any reason to suspect it. All he saw was her odd behavior, reminiscent of Bumblestar's occasional breaks not long before the otter fights.

Then came her call out. Flintclaw's lip curled as he looked up at her, ears, including the painful phantom one, flattened back at her words. "What the hell are you talking about?" He growled, eyes flashing dangerously. "I didn't blink an eye when you told me what happened. I supported your beaten rump and brought you back, accepted you back into Thunderclan, despite your little self righteous solo mission that you put yourself on!" He snapped at her. His tail lashed as he turned his back on her and started to walk away. He shouldn't have come out. This was a mistake.

"You left when Thunderclan needed all the support it could get. I didn't blame you for it, but I won't sit here and pretend you were right to just leave without a word. Our clan has resources for these things, and you decided you were better than that." He snarled over his shoulder. She said she admitted she had been wrong, but still wanted to argue that it had been the right choice... His chest was starting to burn again from the tension. His fur was quickly bristling, making the already large mainecoon look even bigger. His claws kicked up the dirt behind him as they dug grooves into the earth with every step. He was going back to camp. She had obviously only asked him to come hunting with him so that she could try cornering him about her hurt feelings.

Why wouldn't she just leave him alone? Rosesight acted like he was the only cat she had ever talked to in the entirety of the clan. Sure, she had been around him quite a bit for most of their lives, but that just made it worse that she hadn't said a word. Now she wanted to talk? The dark tabby felt that the door had closed the moment she made a reckless choice that could've just as easily wound up with her being the dead one instead of her brother. All the clan would've known was that she disappeared one day, just as so many others before had, and many more will again. It was no different, and she was lucky that he'd had enough respect still to have accepted her back. The dark tom snorted at his own thoughts as he directed his paws towards camp.

"And how many kits have gone missing with thunderclan doing nothing!" She snarled, leaping down, eyes blazing with something unrecognizable, forcing herself to keep her claws sheathed. This damn tom was so stubborn!

Her only friend in the entire clan, and he was turning his back on her. "Don't you get it you stubborn peace of flint?! You and my kits were the only thing I had left." She said forcing herself to choke on her own tears. The albino raised her head.

"You didn't even notice I was gone. I left to get my kits because Thunderclan sat there doing Nothing! I went to hell and back just to come back to the only cat I had left. And I come back to find you acting worse that those shadowclan foxhearts." She called him out. His actions were far worse to her than he even intended.

"You turned your back on me too. When I needed my friend after losing everything, you left. Does that make you feel good about yourself? a small flutter of joy that you left behind a cat who needed your help?" She snarled, this was a mistake. She never should have come home.

"I should have let those dogs kill me, but noooo I had to get home." She scoffed to herself, mostly to keep back the tears.

The dark tom stopped and rounded on her with snarl at the words. "Didn't notice? Left you!? I SPENT MOST OF A MOON IN THE MEDICINE CAT DEN!" Flintclaw roared at her, claws digging into the ground as he circled the albino she-cat. He could still feel the grinding sensation in his chest as he moved, though he wasn't sure it still existed. Nothing was certain with the way he could feel an ear that didn't exist while not feeling a leg that did. "You didn't even say anything! You and your kits just went missing! What were we supposed to assume!? And don't you go blaming me for your choice to not build other bonds in the clan!" Did he go crying to the nearest cat complaining about his lack of close relationships? No! He preferred it that way! What was she trying to get at?

"You haven't even done anything to earn back any kind of respect or trust! All you've done since your return to Thunderclan is sit there and sulk! I don't even blame you for that! I HAVEN'T EVEN HELD THAT AGAINST YOU!" Flintclaw's tail lashed as he glared at her. He hadn't gotten the chance to lash out about almost anything he had been angry or mildly upset about for a while, and maybe some part of him knew that was overboard. His jaw snapped shut as he thought for a moment.

"Cats go missing every. Damn. Day." He growled, trying to calm himself down by digging his claws so far into the ground that it would take quite the effort to pick the dirt out. He was deputy, now. He needed to be better than this. So he went from yelling, to a lower, darker tone. "You can take the time you need to grieve, but it doesn't change the fact that you didn't even try to tell someone and get help. You dug this hole, not me." He hissed, quiet and cold. "I have far more cats to deal with and take care of than just you." He ignored her comment about the dogs. As far as he was concerned, it was a dramatic act to garner some kind of sympathy. As though he didn't hold any at all. It was yet another insult to him.
