A nuisance, this one was. Returning once more to the wardens' trial with the ranting and raving of many voices before him. The tan she-cat stepped forward, a new face to convince this round. Her tail tip twitched with thought, though her eyes were unreadable, a guarded spirit who despised these trials.

Through narrowed eyes, she pondered the case. He was so sure of himself. So sure he'd get his memories back, but she was doubtful. Rarely did such instances occur. Rarely did they piece together why they'd experienced déjà vu. However, the idea of him returning time and time again was almost compelling enough to let him have a second chance. Simply so she could rest peacefully while he left to go die in RiverClan again.

The she-cat sat, watching, waiting for the others of this trial to step forward before she'd give an answer. She had nothing to say or question. She'd just stare with judgmental eyes, prying at his mind to cause discomfort. Cats almost always started to ramble and expose themselves with discomfort.

Dewkit had watched from afar the last time Appleseed approached to attempt a reincarnation. It had gone horribly and she herself wasn’t very try inclined to hearing the Tom speak again, especially after he did, and it seemed that he has learned nothing. Still having nothing to prove. Her tail flicked, and it made her annoyed, there was nothing here from this warrior. Dustpoppy was there, her presence, but seeing no move to speak from the warden the kitten stepped from the mist.

“You needn’t tell us what a reincarnation is, we are fully aware.” Now closer to him, the forever kitten carefully studied the warrior. Nothing. Not much to his name, an honorable motivation but it wasn’t… enough. So many cats want to come to help, especially when stability falters and things start to fall apart. It wasn’t a bad thing, but giving every cat a chance based solely on that proves to be disasterous and wasteful. Many are immediately lost to the fray of the world.

“Tell me, then, what this plan of yours is- being better is something I would hear a kit say, not a warrior proving their worth to the stars. You say you don’t make empty promises but you are giving us nothing else. Understand this Appleseed, me and my fellow wardens have seen countless cats, hundreds before you, thousands after. If you think that you’ll annoy us into given you a chance you cannot prove yourself to deserve then you should get used to this place.” Dewkit settled, sitting back onto her haunches as she let the words fester with their calm sternness before continuing.

“What does this mean to you, Appleseed? Not your clan, tell me why you reject our call and yet refuse to change yourself, to adapt so you may succeed?”

his eyes almost sparkled with determination as the dark tan cat padded up, confusion replaced his fiery gaze as she opted to simply just... watch. so he just stared back until a voice broke the silence.

a kit, well, one by appearance, anyway. her mind, her soul, was likely far older than him. the glint of determination returned once again when the gray and white warden spoke.

"i died in a training accident. i am no one special. i am not claiming to be. i do not blame the apprentice of which i was training, i do not blame sparrowskip for being unable to save me." all the truth. he didn't blame the pair of them. he was a goner by the time he was on the ground. sparrowskip was untrained at the time, and the apprentice was simply eager to learn.

"my plan? be born, learn as much as i can before i'm apprenticed, and then once i am, finish my training as fast as possible, which will prove my determination, as a warrior, i will work my ass off for my clan, if i become a lionheart or not, even one set of paws can change a lot."

what did this mean to him? he wanted to help after sitting on his ass for several season-cycles, that was his main intent, but was it to have a second chance? a second lifetime that he could be happy? finally happy? "i rejected your previous answer because i wanted to prove my determination to my cause. this... may be selfish, but i want for my name to be known, known for doing good. not just good, saving cats, saving the clan. i want this body to die, there was nothing but pain and sorrow that came from my life as appleseed. i want a chance to be happy. a chance to have both joy and to save what was once dear to me." he flicked his bobbed tail, and awaited the third and final warden, as well as the judgement of the two currently here.

The same idiot. The same weak arguments. Annoyance. The sheer stupidity annoyed him. Playing a fabled hero that did nothing. Was worth nothing. Could do nothing. The fog slowly flittered in, and the black and white tom stepped forwards. His gaze belittling, jaw tight.

"Big words for such little compensation towards the Clan you're trying to go back to." a low growl. "You did nothing of worth. Which is proven since you're here...again." a roll of his eyes as he stepped past the duo of Wardens that were here. "Was one humiliation not enough for you? Do you enjoy being told no constantly?" a pause before he gently sat himself down.

"You wanted to be viewed as a hero and you died like a bug. Fitting. Your wish is fleeting, and will always be out of your reach. It's the same answer you gave last time, but you're just hoping for a different route. If you weren't worth the first option. Why would you be worth the second option?" a huff.

"Regrets linger, everything you haven't done, everything you'd wished you'd done. Everyone has their regrets." a pause as Magpiewisp's expression changed for nothing more than a moment. His expression matching exactly what he was saying. But it was only there for nothing more than a few mere seconds. "Why should you be given the blessing of fulfilling those regrets, while others have to live with the weight? Why do you believe so whole heartedly that you deserve to stand out like so?"

his ambitiously glinting eyes faded into a sort of glare, what a chore, this warden again? did he really need to be punted with words? "hah! humiliation, something i am well acquainted with. a wish out of my reach maybe, but who's to say it isnt out of reach of my future life, if i have one." he tapped his paw on the ground, almost a metronome.

"i do not carry many regrets. i only regret being unable to train that apprentice properly." he was fighting back a growl, a show of displeasure. "there are those who've done barely anything, sat on their asses and got to go back. i at least tried to reach out to the living once. it didnt end well."

"i barely hit 20 moons when i died. you all dont want some sob story so i'll save the rest of it. other have been resurrected after accomplishing far less than i have. i died training an apprentice, a stupid death, but i request to live again, to be born anew, not return to the same life i once had."

the same black and white warden, was he always so unmoving? did he always deny every cat that came through? appleseed didnt know. what he did know, is that he was going to be reincarnated one way or another, whether it included harassing the wardens with request after request, or if he would convince them right now.

Worse cats have gotten in for worse things, haven't they? The tom brought in the idea among his talking about how he wasn't special but he wanted to be, when that could be said about every cat alive, very few thought otherwise as they approached the council. Though Appleseed did elaborate on his personal desire in this request, and while honesty was appreciated, whatever Dewkit was looking for wasn't really... there. There were cats who have done less and made it through, but that doesn't mean all standards should drop because of it.

"I'm sorry..." Dewkit shook her head, "Your contributions to the youth of your clan is admirable, but not even I can bring you back solely on that basis and the rest of what you've said are all things that every cat believes, nothing you are saying is worth changing fate for." The feline didn't dislike Appleseed and really appreciated what he did for his apprentice but even that was limited, it wasn't even quite a sacrifice for them, it was an accident. "At this time, I do not give my will for you to return. You've lived your chance and while you passed young, it is far from the countless kits we get through here."

Dustpoppy scowled, her tail flicking and hitting the ground with more and more annoyed thumps. She didn't like the argument, however something was speaking for her that wasn't herself.

"Fine, go back if Magpiewisp approves too," she hissed, before her eyes widened with shock. She wanted to bite her tongue. What was that?!? Why did she say that?! That wasn't what she wanted to say, she was going to say no! But no matter how hard she tried to talk again, nothing left her mouth, and she eyed Magpiewisp suspiciously before turning her back on the group entirely. She wasn't going to be associated with this any longer.

Magpiewisp went to go clean star sparkles from his claws. Dis-interested. He didn’t care for the story that was re-spun, a story that had come out of this Tom’s mouth once before again.

”My answer does not change. It is no.” he said with a simple tilt of his head. Very few and far have been allowed to live again. They had fought hard for their outcome. This one had fought just as hard. But it lacked.
