no matter how 'boring' the explanation of warrior life may be, the ginger-pointed kit listened to the she-cats words with wide-eyed whimsy, ears perked with all possible strain so that she may drink in every sentence. "fishing ... " she murmured, swiping her tongue over her lips as to keep herself from drooling. dandelionkit thought, then, of the silver flashes of scales that she had seen every now and then on the freshkill pile. she was not so certain that she had the patience required for such a skill, but dandelionkit knew that, even though she may not be patient, she was eager to learn, and so she said: "my name is dandelionkit, and i'm gonna be a great warrior one day! i just know it--i've been dreaming about it, y'know! like, really real dreams. they're great. fishing and ... and chasing mice ... and ... being grown up ... and all that fun stuff!"
she continued slowly, then: "can you ... uh ... tell me more about being a warrior? even the boring stuff, too, i don't mind! it's actually ... cool !! hearing about all the things a warrior does. what about ... patrols? if that's what they're called," dandelionkit gave a bright, toothy grin, then. "yeah! patrols, right? have you ever been on one? ever had a FIGHT on a patrol? hya-hya ... take that ..." towards the end of her sentence, the girls voice became a murmur, lost in her own world, though her ears remained angled towards the older woman--constantly listening.
The warrior let out a fond chuckle at the kit’s ramblings. It was always refreshing to listen to the youngest members of the Clan. They were usually so whimsical and starry eyed with big dreams of the future. Most of them hadn’t yet been corrupted by the horrors of life in the Clans. ”Well, Dandelionkit, with enough hard work, you can achieve anything you desire. I’m sure you’ll make a splendid, RiverClan warrior one day.”
”But do remember to enjoy your days here in the camp too. You’re only young once. And long and dreary as these days cooped up in the nursery may seem, they are fleeting. You can’t spend all your days looking towards the future. You should enjoy the moment too.” She advised, with a nostalgic look in her blue eyes and a bittersweet smile.
She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts once more and answer the little yellow kit’s questions. ”You’d like to know everything about being a warrior, huh? Well, I admire your enthusiasm. RiverClan needs more kids like you with lots of passion. I’ve been fortunate enough to never have had to fight in a patrol before. Though yes, I have battled. Not for some time, thank the stars. Battling is an important part of life in the Clan, though I personally believe it should only be utilized in defense of oneself and their Clanmates. Sometimes warriors are tasked to fight predators or even other cats from other Clans.”
”As for patrols, I’m sure you’ve seen groups of warriors leave in the morning after being called by Sunheart of Berryshine. Patrols are tasked to go in groups and perform a number of tasks. There are three types: herb patrols, border patrols, and hunting patrols. Herb patrols are sent by the medicine cats to go find herbs to heal the Clan. Border patrols are sent to mark out borders and make sure those pesky Clans don’t cross! Hunting patrols are to catch different prey to feed the Clan.” The warrior explained. She paused once more to watch the kit imitate fighting with an amused expression and a growing smile. Dandelionkit’s adorable behavior reminded her of simpler times.

Asterpaw was lounging in camp, having recently come back from training. The tabby just closed his eyes, prepared to sunbath for a while. He tried to not let his thoughts swirl around his head, running rampage and not being friendly.
After a couple minutes in the sun, Aster noticed that someone was blocking it now. Some idiot got in they way of his sun! He opened his eyes and glared at the offending cat.
"Excuse me," he started, his tone bordering on rude. "You're in my sun."
