Maggotpaw is not used to this. Usually when they want company, they have to hunt it down. Barleypaw walks right up, no chasing required. So already, today is a good day and this cat is a good cat. And—Maggotpaw lurches forward abruptly, bringing its face close enough to the other apprentice's that their whiskers might've touched—a blind-cat?
Maybe it's rude to associate cats based on their blindness, but whatever's up with Barleypaw's eyes makes Maggotpaw think of Leopardflight and Fidgetberry, who are (and were...) also good cats. So this cat is extra good. That's just how it is.
"Okay. Sit. Sit right now. I'm Maggotpaw if you don't know that. Do you see?" It leans back and flaps a paw in front of her face. "Or do you not see? I don't want you to, so if you do then you have to close your eyes. Okay?" It plops down, raggedy tail twitching excitedly.
"Tell me your name back, so we're even, and also because I don't know if I know yours. Maybe I forgot. And then you have to tell me where you were. Did you get lost? You have to tell me."
Maggotpaw cannot manage a conversation without turning it into a list of demands.
Stormpaw smiled sat down across from Mossnose and smiled back at him, he could tell that the warrior was nervous though said nothing about it, as he didn’t want to make him feel any more nervous by drawing attention to it. "Hey! Nice to meet you too! I’m Stormpaw!" Wow that still didn’t feel right. "I’m still not used to saying that, only a few days ago I was a kit." He laughed slightly.
@Beetle_Fettle (So sorry this took like a month! I pretty much disappeared from WCO for a while)
Squirrelpaw
WindClan Apprentice ⯎ She/Her ⯎ 8+ moons "Is there really no one like me?"
Squirrelpaw sucked in a breath of cold air and paused to catch her breath. Rookpaw had stumbled a bit, and it had given her a bit of time. But when she saw the younger apprentice steady herself, she jumped forward with Rookpaw right on her tail.

Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 7 moons
The dusky lilac apprentice finally got the hang of it whilst heaving in sharp breathes. Despite getting a little tired, Rookpaw maintained her speed, racing her own paws. Because stars forbid she actually lose in a game- against another apprentice at that. One paw after the other, Rookpaw closed the distance once more- pushing herself, her legs, her own stamina. "Gotcha-"
Her eyes narrowed, focused with a glint of content. With her paws outstretched and a spring in her hind legs, Rookpaw reached out and tagged Squirrelpaw a little too hard and too fast, sending Rookpaw tumbling and knocking onto the brown furred apprentice.
Ouch, those teeth are definitely not soft, and Thornbird can't help but flinch, just enough to give Rookpaw an opportunity to escape from eir grip.
And also, ey is a bit shocked at the apprentice's determination and aggressivity. Impulsive, but not seeming to give signs of easing up.
And that's when an unexpected blow hit right on the massive warrior's chest, a kick that left em breathless.
Thornbird eased eir grip on the dusky-furred molly, and quickly took a mouthful of air, recovering from that hit.
Ey's vulnerable, maybe a bigger opportunity for Rookpaw to win this battle where the odds are not exactly in her favor?
Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 7 moons
Seeing that she kicked the wind out of her mentor, Rookpaw would call it even. For what? Everything, from pelting her with pebbles and pinning her to the ground. Those action resulted in some undignified action on her part, and Rookpaw definitely did not take a liking to it. The slender dusky apprentice paused, her narrowed mismatched eyes turn back into their usual blunt, critical self, before she decided. "I think that's enough for today. For only a couple moves being taught, this spar is getting quite tedious and lame. We can spar again once you figure out your teaching agenda..."
"Can I expect a territory tour tomorrow?" Rookpaw questioned, her eyes staring straight at her mentor.
