CW: this character often experiences symptoms of PTSD and anxiety.
From an insider's perspective, it didn't make much sense either.
Fleetpaw jolted when he felt something collide with him, leaping up and spinning around quickly. "O-O-Oh no! I-I-I'm so s-s-sorry!" Oh boy. He was extra flustered now. Fleetpaw didn't really even get to make the attempt to understand the true meaning behind Strawberrypaw's words, the meaning didn't matter. What did matter was that he was, of course, at fault for something. And he felt awful about it. "A-Are you o-okay?" He fumbled over his words, balling himself up making the skinny and tall tom shrink. Quite a feet really. Fleetpaw's ears twitched as rain droplets landed on them, but he didn't move. He was too scared of screwing up again. Tail wrapped around himself for strength, he waited to feel Strawberrypaw's rightful wraith. Only able to whimper softly.

Oh. Strawberrypaw hadn't thought the apprentice would be so jittery over a question. Blue eyes squinted at her denmate as he stammered out an apology - but the only thing that bothered her was that... (hmm, what was his name again?) hadn't answered her uncharacteristic bout of curiosity. "I'm not hurt." She responded after a drawn-out moment of unabashed staring, Seedpaw's soft, sweetened voice unconsciously taking over her own. She didn't know how to do this on her own, by herself. Strawberrypaw wasn't much the soothing type. "Why are you apologizing?"
Coldpaw
[ 6 moon | She / Her | Wc Tunneller Apprentice | Heightened Perception: Touch ]
"Hello,"
Coldpaw greeted, head turning the wrong way as her mentor seated himself beside her. She felt some of the rain lessen with his newly arrived presence, and flicked her ear in silent acknowledgement. She raised a brow at his question. Climb a tree? Confusion waved over her face for a moment, angling her angular head towards Vinesmoke. "Wouldn't I fall off?"
She did want to learn how to climb a tree, but her concern remained.
"Who's--"
She began to ask about the warrior Vinesmoke invited over, suddenly self-conscious of her surroundings, when Rookkit came by. Her ears angled towards her sister and Coldpaw paused for a visible moment, processing her presence; "Rookkit;"
Coldpaw spoke, ear twitching. "You're becoming an apprentice."
She observed, a smile coming onto her face.
Before she could speak further, a chipper voice sounded behind her, and Coldpaw leaned forth to avoid some of the plashing water (how did she know that?), her tail coming to warm the cold tips of her paws. She recognised this energy immediately, and calmly invited Shrikepaw to sit next to her, wanting to lean into Shrikepaw's side for warmth and shelter. "Mhm! She'll be with us, now."
Coldpaw replied happily, her voice soon chanting when Rookpaw got her name. "Rookpaw, Rookpaw, Rookpaw!"
Stormpaw sat down and listened as Ghostflower spoke, her voice soft and gentle. For the first time he seen her eyes, and they weren’t the same colour. Stormpaw hadn’t known such a thing was possible, it was certainly unique but pretty cool at the same time he thought. Given how nervous Ghostflower seemed about it though, Stormpaw said nothing on the subject, not wanting to draw attention to it since it seemed to be a bit of a touchy subject. Then his eyes shone with excitement as she mentioned going on a territory tour. Yes! This was exactly what he’d been waiting for all this time! The main thing he was looking forward to was getting to explore. It was impossible to hide his excitement at this as his tail quivered. "I can’t wait! I’ve always wanted to know what’s beyond this camp!" Could this day get any better?
All of a sudden, another cat made his way over. Stormpaw gave a respectful nod as he turned to face the warrior who’d just joined. Oh? So he would be helping to train him as well? "Sounds great!" He turned to look at Ghostflower. "When do we start?"

She was so thankful that Ghost came over. That will definitely help with her anxiety. "Um...we could start n-now."Should they start now? I think so. She looked to Crow. No. He is my apprentice. I will lead. Not Crow. She flicked her tail to the camp entrance. "Follow, please." She said quietly.

Eyes wide with excitement and pride, and even more so when her Mother smiling warmly upon her. It was such an uplifting feeling. As if the rain suddenly swept away and the warm winds blew. It felt as if she could run a thousand miles from the adrenaline she'd had at the moment.
Her eyes searched around for this warrior she'd been assigned to, but instead, she was found first. Thornbird. That's her mentor from now on. Immediately, the dusky lilac apprentice spoke with undeniable demand yet promise, "I won't disappoint. When'll we start?"
She's going to be the best warrior, or at least that's want she'd promised herself. But first, she'll have to catch up with her siblings and that where her mentor comes in. It's too early to tell, but hopefully Thornbird is the right match for her demanding personality.

Vinesmoke
15 Moons
He/Him
Vinesmoke settled beside Coldpaw. He subtly adjusted his position, making sure his frame blocked as much of the downpour as possible for her. The soft patter of the rain continued around them, but he could feel the coolness lessen slightly with his proximity. He gave her a warm, reassuring look as she raised an eyebrow at the idea of climbing a tree. "You won’t fall, Coldpaw," he said gently. "We’ll start slow, and I’ll be there every step of the way. You’re stronger than you realize. As Coldpaw's attention shifted to her sister, Rookkit, Vinesmoke quietly observed, noticing the way Coldpaw’s expression softened as she watched her sibling take another seat step toward becoming an apprentice. He could see the pride in her face, the connection between the two of them clear in that small, shared moment. Eventually he quickly explained to Coldpaw who Birchfawn was “Birchfawn is a friend of mine,” Vinesmoke explained, his voice low and kind. "Though we don’t speak much these days, both of us are kept busy. When Shrikepaw’s voice rang out behind them, Vinesmoke moved a bit, ensuring Coldpaw stayed sheltered from the rain. His tail brushed lightly against the cold tips of her paws as he adjusted, wanting to keep her as warm and dry as possible. It was almost comical to see how much Vinesmoke had been shifting around to accommodate Coldpaw. Vinesmoke watched as the new apprentices touched noses with their mentors vine called the new names out and continued to listen to the news
Birchfawn would nod at Vinesmoke's assessment of who he was. "Warrior duties keep us busy. Vine is kepy busy with his tunneler duties." He mewed kindly to Coldpaw, smiling widely at Vinesmoke. Seeing his apprentice Sparkpaw he would call her over. "Sparkpaw! Care to sit with me?"

Marshheart? Splashpaw's ears flicked. She had never heard the name before. So, instead of looking for the warrior, she waited for the warrior to find her.
MarshHeart froze mid lick. what?
Slowly he peered out of the warriors den and towards the Galewood, eyes scaning the crowd of cats until they fell on a certain lone black kit sitting near the other newly apprenticed. Oh starclan help me, surely that kit is too young.
Slowly getting to his paws, MarshHeart walks behind the new apprentice, His apprentice.
"kit" he rasps siting himself next to her, trying to gadge her exact age, whilst moving his tail over her, blocking some of the rain.
