As the night wore on, Mosstangle watched as Morningpaw continued to perfect his techniques. She tried not to purr every time he reappeared. He really had come so far in just a moon. He picked up everything quickly. Hunting, fighting, and now stealth were marked off the list. She hoped that Dawnstar and Mistlewhisker would be satisfied with her training. Still, he had a ways to go before he could do his final assessment.

Looking up to the sky as the night reached moonhigh, Mosstangle approached her apprentice as he finished another lap. She flicked a leaf off of his shoulder with her tail before yawning. "It is late, Morningpaw. I think you have exceeded expectations today. Let's go rest for the night. You will be free to do with tomorrow morning what you wish." She told him as she turned to start leading the way to camp.

Morningpaw nodded proudly. "Alright. Thank you Mosstangle!" He meowed, flicking his dark tail. His fur had once again started to bleed into the surrounding darkness, making him near impossible to see a lot of the time. He padded after the larger tabby, keeping pace easily, and thinking his own thoughts. He noticed he was still only below his mentor's shoulders. Man, she was big. Morningpaw was larger than Shiverpaw, but he was still rather small for a Shadowclan cat. Perhaps he always will be.
