Vinesmoke

He/Him
Tunneler
Vinesmoke padded behind falconbreak looking over his shoulder making sure shrikepaw was keeping up he carried three mushrooms it was a good find and day he watched as falconbreak layed the mushrooms down of course the Tom was prickly the cat had barley talked but he just shrugged it wasn’t his place besides he had gotten to help shrikepaw in the tunnel so there was that anyways “Here ya are miss lightningstorm three mushrooms..it was a decent find”
GASP. Thank goodness that was over. Seeing the bright sunlight as she exited the tunnel, relief filled her soul. Never again. Well, unless she gets put on mushroom patrol again... Then, she supposed, one more time. Looks like they were headed off -- for once, she couldn't wait to get back to camp.
She followed the two of them to Lightningstorm, and dropped her mushrooms. "Hi hi hello!" She chirped. Honestly, a few minutes out of the tunnels, and she'd already moved on mentally. "Threeeeeee mushrooms for ya!"
The lashing of the toms tail and the thunderous look on his face was not a good sign to whoever had earned his ire.
The scouting patrol had gone fine, the trouble that'd brewed was as harmless as that area could be thank the stars, but had it gone sour the patrol might've died due to a lack of paws they shouldve had. Simply put Crowtooth had trusted several cats with a heavy duty only to find that trust for naught.
The two had to know that they were in trouble, even if a meeting and life had interrupted this reckoning. Well now it was happening. "NECTARDROP! FALLENSKY!! GIT YER HIDES HERE NOW AN' MAKE IT SNAPPY, YA SHOULD BE AWARE YER IN HOT WATER ALREADY. BEST YA DONT RISK YER STANDING FURTHER."
Fallensky burst away from Nectardrop, rushing over to Crowtooth. Sorry, Crowtooth. I've been acting like a kit lately, don't know why. A flush of embarrassment heated up her face, and she looked down at her paws. Did... What... I mean, did I do something bad? She shifted uneasily, trying her best to meet his eyes. I promise I didn't mean it, I promise I'll make up for it! She explained quickly, her fur bristling.

Leopardflight had just finished marking, and her attention went to Coldpaw as she spoke again.
Ah, it had been a second, hadn't it?
They were done, anyway.
"Yeah, we should." She answered "Let's go."
She then started leading the way back.
Soon, they got back. "Hiiiii!" She said as soon as she found the deputy "So the border was fine, there was a ThunderClan patrol on the other side, but nothing crazy. Coldpaw was great. Uh... oh! And Applegrove didn't show up, almost forgot that."

Pink tongue crossed over fur covered ribs as the herbalist groomed her herbal scented fur, attempting in vain to remove some of the stronger telltale signs of her profession. While she usually preferred to do this in the comfort of her own den, she now basked atop the roots of the Galewood, knowing the patrols she had sent for the many plants she could always use more of should be returning to the burrows soon. So soon, in fact, that she could spot a particularly pretty, pale spotted she-cat walking towards her now, followed in tow by her patrol, carrying one of the herbs she had been most hopeful of finding.
With a purr she greeted Leopardsong, trailing down the root to meet her. Large ears perked up gleefully at the leaves brought in, grateful for even the one the queen had brought. A single leaf meant one thing, after all. That the herb could in fact be readily found in WindClan. That alone would have been a success in her eyes. The extra were more of an extremely welcomed added bonus.
"Well met, love. Looks like you lot got a better amount than I was hopin' for, even. I'll prep them for drying soon, just leave them here. Thanks a lot. I'll have to be relying on your help finding hard to find herbs more often," Lightningstorm purred, tail swaying lazily behind her as she untangled the small bundle of chervil Berrystorm had brought along even as the next patrol approached her.
At the sight of the hawkweed, another purr rumbles through the herbalist, unused to such good spoils while there is still snow littering the cold. It seemed that aside of her constant scent of herbs, she shared her disdain for the weather with the very plants she tended to on the regular. And yet the two bright, yellow hawkweed were easy to distinguish to her trained eye... not to mention that gratefully this was one herb that wasn't currently blooming besides others just like it. It would, as the newleaf finally came in and swept the snow fully away in favor of rain, but that sounded like a problem for future her to explain away to future patrols.
"Ah, beauty of a find, love. Almost as much as you," the calico teased, eyes glinting with mischief before she turned to the loot. "It's a shame 'bout Dewfrost. I'll call her up and see what's up. If not, well... she's a full grown warrior. She can handle the consequences, can't she? You both did great, though. Go ahead and get a rest. You've earned it... same for you both."
Her gaze momentarily on Leopardsong and Berrystorm as she blinked gratefully at them both, she was halted from any more chatter by the arrival of a new patrol. This was... frankly unprecedented. Herb patrols so usually failed to report back, to have this many show up at once and with herbs in maw was a rare instance of surprise that Lightningstorm wished happened more often. As it stood, she waved her tail in greeting, happy to see so much moss return with the patrol, especially when she realized her cobweb patrol was still missing. While moss had varying uses and cobwebs tended to serve as better bandages, moss was always a good replacement, and was essential when it came to broken bones... among other things, of course.
"That's excellent, Otterfur! Fresh moss always does make such a difference to dried one, even when rehydrated, dunnit? And a good amount, too. Hopefully we won't see a need for it, but I fear we might see it used sooner rather than later. Thanks for the find, gorgeous. No need to stick around. I'll sort it out for storage in a mo' myself. I'm a bit of an arse about placement," she purred good humoredly, not getting much of a break to do that when the next patrol arrived, instantly attracting her attention.
The difference between all the patrol members that walked up was so evident in this one Lightningstorm couldn't help the twitch of amusement on her whiskers as she stared at them. Falconbeak, eternally stoic and brooding silently handed his cache before Vinesmoke and Shrikepaw added their own mushrooms to the mix. She was glad to see that they had at least worked well together. It had been an odd mix of felines, but she did relish in sometimes shifting things a little. Giving a silent warrior lead in a patrol where a tunneler might have more experience was always a good gauge of character. How keen was the patrol leader to listen to something that he might know less of than his patrolmate? How petty would the tunneler be for not being in control? She'd done this before to honestly stellar results, and she was happy to see said results again... at least from first glance.
"Excellent haul! Why, you lot did such a great job even Falconbeak's glowing. Glowers make for the best smiles, and all," she chirped playfully, openly chuffed with the patrol. "Cheers for these, loves. I'll make sure to store them with the rest of the herbs. Go get some rest with the others. You've bloody well earned it."
"Come along, my darlings," Dapplebreeze called, the wren in her mouth muffling her words slightly even as she glanced back at the two.
The hunting patrol had been... less fortuitous in bringing back prey than she would have liked - more the reason to coax Batglare into accompanying her later for a hunting rendezvous to make up for the pittance she now brought - but the apprentices had remained safe. Had learned a little something at the border. And Cottonpaw had hopefully gotten just a little more secure in his hunting. Not to mention dear little Shrikepaw had hopefully gotten inspired to improve upon her own hunting skills herself! Perhaps not much in sense of sustenance for now, but it had been lessons that would ensure prey in the future. The survival of both youngsters. She was happy with that for now.
Spotting the WindClan deputy, the patched she-cat made her way towards him, dropping her wren before him as she sat down, awaiting for the older of the two paws to drop his own prey in as well. She gave the two a fond smile before turning towards Crowtooth, dipping her head respectfully before she began her explanation as to the lacking prey. It would fall on her, of course. It had been her decisions that had caused this folly, and she would take the blame gladly. No reason to discourage the younger ones when they were merely learning.
"We bring slim pickings, Crowtooth. My apologies. I'm afraid that there was heavy ShadowClan scent at the border, and it seemed as if a patrol might be in the area. I did not trust Dawnstar's vermin rogues to not see the apprentices and find them easy prey for their... uncouthly violent tendencies, and decided to keep our trip as short and concise as possible," she sniffed, as if the stench of the aforementioned clan still lingered in her nose.
"There was some fortune to be found, however. Young Cottonpaw here caught his first toad on the first try. A creature he had never seen before, at that. Darling Shrikepaw was enthusiastic, but unfortunately, during our visit most prey seemed to have been scared off. I do believe she will do much better the next time she goes out, she just needs a little more guidance and patience... and perhaps more familiar territory for that first hunt. Aside of the strong stench of ShadowClan in the air, however, there seemed to be no problems to be had."

Cottonpaw made his way back, depositing his toad and offering all a smile. ”W.w.would it b.b.be okay t.t.to share the t.t.toad, m.m.me and Shrikep..paw w.a.wanted to t.t.t.try it?” He asked this question to Crowtooth earnestly. He wouldn’t be too fussed if the answer came back a no, he just hoped someone had a taste for the slimy animal and it wouldn’t go to waste.

On Leopardflight's command, Coldpaw turned back with a weary tilt of her head before following after the warrior's scent. Her steps were still significantly slower than the older one, on occasion stumbling over the uneven ground until they reached camp, trailing after the warrior. She nodded along, then spoke up, evenly. "I was a bit slow, we didn't get the chance to hunt. I'm sorry."
It stung having to admit that, but she would rather get his judgement over with than drag it out.
