Acornkit lay in the nursery, in her nest far, far away from all the other tumbling kits. She flinched as a tumbling kit flew past her, inching away from them, when she noticed a cat much older than her walk into the nursery.

Redsurge shouldered her way into the nursery, using a paw to steady a kit that was tumbling across the mossy floor of the nursery. ''Be careful. We don't need you getting hurt.''
Leaving the kit to play, the warrior made her way over to Acornkit. ''Acornkit, is it? I heard that you wanted to take a few classes. Why don't you and I go out into the clearing that way I can teach you?'' Redsurge looked at Acornkit through her heterochromatic blue-and-yellow eyes, ready to lead the way back to the clearing.

Acornkit quietly stood up. The truth was, she really didn't want to take classes. But various queens advised it and she hadn't wanted to argue- she hated agreeing. She walked up to the other cat, staying quiet and keeping her distance.
