Cowkit's eyes immediately widened. It was time already? Was he even prepare for being an apprentice? The kitten shyly sat infront of Dawnstar trying his best to avoid the many gazes of the cat's around him. 'You cannot mess this up.. Or you'll be an kit forever!' he reminded himself with and anxious flick of his tail. He stared at his paws, listing quietly to the conversations around him until the leader spoke again.

New apprentices. He wondered who they were going to. Maybe Owlthroat would acquire some more? Willowpaw was called for her warrior ceremony - hopefully she would show this time - disgraceful that she hadn't last time, to be honest. Alongside her was Magpiepaw. The tom tilted his head - had they not been on a patrol together moons ago? He recalled the 'paw being extremely enthusiastic - a pain in the neck, but enthusiastic. She looked rather old for an apprentice too. He was quite perplexed how it'd taken so long. Ah well, not his problem to worry about - though, he wished he'd offered her some training.
''That's enough,'' Pondlily meowed firmly, getting to her paws and gently attempting to pull Mimicpaw off of Talonpaw. ''This is a Clan Meeting. Remember your manners, Mimicpaw.'' StarClan knows what Dawnstar would do if she spotted them.
''You never attack a Clanmate at a meeting, whether they are kin or not. In fact, you never attack a Clanmate at all, come to think of it. Keep your paws to yourself and pay attention to Dawnstar,'' Pondlily ordered sitting back down beside Tuftedtusk. ''Mimicpaw, stick close to Owlthroat. Talonpaw, come sit with Tuftedtusk and I.''

Drat. Talonpaw had managed to not get herself crushed. Mimicpaw twisted around to try and bat her on the head, before he was pulled away from her. How dare! Mimicpaw let out a loud, furious hiss at Pondlily when she pulled them away from Talonpaw, and instinctively swiped a paw at the warrior. Oh, he was maaadd!! Who did she think she was? Telling him and his sibs what to do?! Grr.
"GET AWAY!!!" It snarled, hackles raised and fur standing on end. Their pupils turning to thin lines, they glared daggers into Pondlily's skull. He quickly went for Talonpaw, attempting to grab her and pull her away just in case she decided to go sit with Pondface. And Dad. But that was out of the question.

...Did she really deserve this? There was doubt in her mind. Just a small seed, but seeds grew, and so did it. What had she accomplished in her life? Nearly drowned because of her own stupidity, hadn't even had the gut to properly fight an enemy, and made an absolute idiot of herself, not only at the rat battle but approximately every single time she even so much as took a step outside. Willowpaw unsheathed her claws and sank them into the snow below, it's chill jerking her out of that train of thought. She couldn't pay attention to that now. She was going to get a new, shiny name.
As she made her way to settle down behind the kits who were lining up for their own ceremonies, there was no joy or excitement, as she would've expected. This.... didn't really feel right. Why, why, oh why couldn't she have just been good at anything? She wouldn't have to become a caretaker. Wouldn't have to deal with any, possibly needless, shame. She could practically see the dread piling up. Was this going to be her whole life? 'I can change. Yeah... yeah....' She thought, trying to reassure herself. Was she too far gone? Has Willowpaw screwed up too badly? Her stomach twisted at the thought. No. She couldn't have failed that bad.

As much as she can manage it, Cinderpaw smiles, nodding in response to Rookfire's question of her excitement and allowing the physical affection he lends. She is not always one for physical contact - it was one of the reasons she didn't sit with her pelt immediately flush to her mentor's - but there were times and there were cats with witch it was nice. Wispypaw, Rookfire, mama, papa to name a few. Somewhere else in the clearing, Bleedingpaw and Scorpionpaw's snow scuffle drawing her attention, especially when Rookfire himself mentions it.
The relationship with the rest of her extended family, her grandmother, cousins, and aunts and uncles (odd to think of them as that, considering the aunts and uncles she was mostly thinking of were all younger than her) were not cats Cinderpaw found herself close to. Still, it was nice to see Bleedingpaw getting along with their family, even if Cinderpaw herself might not be in the same boat. Socialization was a little difficult when even just talking was hard.
And then Dawnstar begins, calling a hoard of apprentices to gather and, behind them, she directs Magpiepaw, Willowpaw, and Cinderpaw herself to line up. Okay. Big moment. This was it. She feels her posture straighten just a little before she stands, her tail pressing along Rookfire's shoulder briefly, the subtlest hint of her nerves, before she finds Bleedingpaw's gaze, offering him a tiny, nervous smile. It would be him next, probably. She has no doubt. Slowly, the tripod moves to settle beside Magpiepaw, an apprentice she'd trained with, traded blows with in a battle lesson taught by Rookfire, but not someone she felt particularly close to. Willowpaw isn't here yet that she can tell, or they're making their way now and Cinderpaw is simply missing them. It's not important.
In the crowd, amber eyes try and pick out some of her other siblings, Birdpaw and Wispypaw to be specific, not that the latter would even notice her gaze, but still... there was part of Cinderpaw that wanted to get her name alongside her blind sister, and she worried about the guilt that was swirling in her gut at not following through with the silent promise.

· · ────────────── · · Finally it was Cinderpaw's time! Birdecho slipped from the tree she perched on as her sister's name was called by Grandmother, the familiar pelt lining up with the others for her ceremony.
Birdecho tried to catch her sister's gaze and give her a big grin in reassurance. Birdecho, Quietraven, now Cinderpaw. Three of them had made it. Birdecho practically bounced where she sat, probably more excited about this than Cinderpaw was!

Owlthroat bit his tongue at Pondlily’s words, he’d just told the two to behave moments ago. He didn’t need a stranger, let alone her doing his parenting for him. Attack? They were play fighting, honing their skills. What a joke.
Owlthroat almost burst into laughter as Mimicpaw demanded for her to get away. It ran in the family clearly, he let a tiny smirk show on his lips but turned his head away to disguise it so that no cat could see. ”Now now, behave or I’ll have you cleaning the elder’s den with the rank of KIT, no claws or paws.” His voice was stern, scolding the two of his children, particularly Mimicpaw for his outburst. He leaned down close to him, "Mimic, you know you have an image to uphold." As entertaining as he found his flailing he couldn’t let it show at a meeting, ”C’mon now, impress your father. Let’s see who can cheer the loudest for these new apprentices and warriors.”
He returned Mimicpaw's dagger eyes at the both of his young, it was uncanny how alike they could be. It wouldn’t take much to assume they were close kin. He kept Yarrowpaw tucked well under his tail with this snowfall. His attention returning to the announcements, Willowpaw had been called up, he prayed to Starclan she’d show this time. It was out of his paws now.

He stayed silent as Pondlily moved his two kits away from each other. "Behave yourselves." He warned with a low growl. "We wouldn't want you getting demoted now would we?' With a deft paw, he pulled Talonpaw to him and groomed her ears. He didn't care if he was embarrassing her, but her fur had gotten all messed up after that tussle.
