Idly Owlthroat’s paws found themselves weaving towards the nursery, he poked his head inside. Seeping up the sweet scents of milk and squabbling kittens. Yellow eyes slitted roaming until he found them locked onto Nightshiver.
”Night”, he nodded and let a rare soft smile slip across his lips.

A little tune played in her mind as she swept aside a few wayward sticks the kittens had left lingering, just so no one would hurt themselves tripping over them, when a deep crackly voice rung behind her. Her head darted up with a little “oh!” and whipped around to see none other than Owlthroat. A smile spread across her lips. “He..hello.”
She mew; “Con...congratulations…. on.. on their.. ceremonies.”
She began with, a smile playing on her lips.

a light purr rumbles from the kit as nightshiver gives him a few licks between the ears. iciclekit presses closer to the queen, trying to gather some much-needed warmth. he swears, no matter how warm a nest is or how comfy mumma is, he's freezing! he wonders if the other cats are always cold, too, or if it's just him. it makes him feel as slow as a slug.
his mother's question is answered by a shake of his head. he won't say he dislikes the other kits; they're all just so..loud. too hyper. socializing with them proved to be quite difficult, he's found. luckily for him, mumma has a solution, like always. "I want.. to play with you, mumma." he murmurs, aiming to affectionately headbutt her leg when she leans down. he glances at the mossball, debating if he wants to keep it or not. ultimately, he decides to draw it closer, then slides it towards the molly.
"how do you make it fun?" he inquires, pointing a paw at the mossball.

She moved to wrap her tail around her cold little boy, he always seemed to be freezing, the poor dear. All she could do was offer him whatever warmth she had to spare, and hope it was enough. Still, she couldn’t help but smile when her son declared he wanted to play with her; it warmed her heart, she had to admit, and welcomed his little headbutt with a warm purr.
“Well.. then;”
She began , tilting her head aside as she began to ponder the various ways she had seen kits play with mossballs over the years, and which ones might interest Iciclekit. “You’ve got… to.. to have a bit… of… imagination.”
She decided, turning the mossball on its side.
“It could… could be a treasure…. which we have to find; or.. maybe it’s… super really.. hot! And we need…. To transport it… by touching it… as.. as little as… possible.”
She suggested, looking down to see what he thought about these suggestions.

Fishpaw shifted her weight as nightshiver tucked her tail around fish's body as she gave fish a few licks on the head in greeting. Fishpaw took a deep breath and let out a long sigh this felt nice, it felt nice to be around her mom and in the safety of the den, Fishpaw looked at nightshivers scarred face " Oh! my training is going well, learning a few things already" she meowed " maybe in a few more moons I can be a warrior she smiled as she tucked her feet under her.

Nightshiver smiled brightly, eyes squinting. “I’m sure… you’ll be… a.. a great… warrior, love.”
She purred, leaning in to nuzzle the side of her face. Oh her darling girl, she has grown so much already. Nightshiver couldn’t describe how happy she was. “You know… I am… proud of.. of you.., right?”
She asked, levelling her warm gaze with Fishpaw.

Owlthroat found himself returning her smile, it wasn’t quite as gentle but there was real warmth behind it. It just looked out of place on his typically brooding face. Her congratulations was well received but it wasn’t his alone to claim. ”I came to thank you, Nightshiver, they’re doing better than ever.” He moved closer, finding an open spot to rest his haunches down. ”So much of that congratulations belongs to you, you’ve kept them happy, healthy and determined little things.” The large tom chuckled, they certainly were a bunch of rascals, already getting up to no good.
He paused, remembering what he came here for. ”I have, well, a gift. If you’d accept it?” His soft spot for the forever queen was enduring, he could never repay what she did. So he’d awkwardly present himself now and again, he’d make sure of that. With either company, prey or something unique like he had today, he’d fight her battles if asked. She’d involuntarily become family whether she’d know it by that label or not.
The apprentice flicked his ear carefully as he popped his head into the nursery, an area quite unfamiliar to him now. New kits, new queens, a d the old ones mostly gone. The world keeps going though, and LionPaw was an apprentice twice now. One thing was always the same though, and he was grateful for that. “Hey ma.” he said with a soft smile, his tail flicked in greeting as he approached her and nuzzled his head to her shoulder. NightShiver was the best. Always would be. And he’d go through hell to make her happy as the last remaining of his litter.

The warrior continued the ride for a bit until she crouched to let the two kit's off. "Woah, you two are getting heavy!" she joked. Tinywolf was unsure when they would be apprentice, but they didn't look that young. "Wanna learn how to hunt or fight?" she asked, glancing over to Nightkit as well.
Questions? The kit paused for a moment to think, unsure if the other kitten had any. Was he supposed to come prepared with questions? Cowkit flicked his ears nervously before mumbling. "Why do the clans need to fight. Why can't we all work together?" It didn't make sense to him atleast.

Ah, there were the two darlings she was meant to teach today. Nightshiver greeted each of them with a smile, guiding them to calm space in the den where she settled down, and invited the two kittens to settled down as well - whether it were in front of her or at her side, she didn't mind. It was cold outside, and while the den was well-isolated, she would welcome anyone seeking a little more warmth. "Good..morning, you two."
She purred softly. "Why...why don't we.. start with... some questions. Hm? Do ei..either of... you have... any questions? Or... any specific.. t-time.. you want... to hear about?"
Honeykit, bored, batted at a piece of moss she’d found on the ground. This was no fun. She glanced up, hoping that one of her big siblings showed up to play with her, especially Foxy, but no luck. However, she did spot a big cat and two other kits sitting and talking together… it must be a lesson! The she-kit had watched a few lessons from afar, but never enough to learn anything. Maybe she would go this time…?
The kit stood and took an unsure step forward. Was she allowed to join? They’d already started talking, too…
Honeykit had a brief image of the queen sending her away, the other kits laughing at her. It was almost enough to make her stay away, but she really really really wanted to know what they were talking about. Taking a deep breath in, she scampered over and slunk up next to one of the kits without a word, staring shyly at the queen.

Ashkit bounced up. Fight! He mewed, thinking of his dad. He's such a great fighter! He thought to himself. I want to impress Dad! He mewed.
Specklekit paused thoughtfully. I'd like to learn how to hunt I guess. She mewed. But fighting is ok too.
Nightkit knew how much her father liked to fight. And she did love her father, but she, like her mother, preferred the idea of hunting. But, since she was outvoted, she sat by Tinywolf and her siblings. Sighing, she replied, I guess fight.

Erminekit tumbles his way back into the nursery with little grace. He's thought that maaayyybe it might be cool to walk around camp! Maybe an apprentice could show him the territory!! Maybe a warrior could make him the new deputy, Mistlewhisker be damned! But it was cold out. And Erminekit wasn't a fan of that. So he'd taken three wobbly steps before promptly turning back around.
There's lots of bodies in the nursery, though, and that makes it warmer in here - even if his breath still makes clouds in front of his face. All this exploring is exhausting... he wants to take a nap... or to play... He's not sure which one just yet.
Petalkit sleepily looked up from her nest. She was curled up tightly her tail tight around her tiny body. She yawned, pawed at her nest before tucking her nose under her tail.
