As just about any fool could have predicted, Splashleap overcompensated for the stepping stones and skidded up against the bank of the frozen river. The side of her fur was now streaked in frozen dirt, and she had been slowed down a rather considerable amount, but she hadn't exactly been stopped? A small victory could be taken from this, perhaps, but she was now lagging slightly behind in a rather unfortunate manner. That was ok though. She recovered to stand on all four paws, slipping in a rather ungainly manner before reestablishing a stride. But then Brokenstream threw a massive wrench into her plan and progress, ordering three paws. She managed to get a balance, but her ability to skate forward was severely limited. Or....what if she used no legs at all. Dropping to her belly, Splashleap scrabbled at the ice with her hind paws. TECHNICALLY she was only using two paws!

"Ohh NOO. I'msosorryI'msosorry—" The panicked apologies tumbled out of Berryshine's mouth as she stiffened, bracing herself to careen right into poor ol' Soaringpaw—!
And then, she felt teeth sink into her scruff and hoist her as if she were a kit. With a squeak of alarm, Berryshine craned her neck to see Brokenstream holding her. As she scrabbled to stand upright, she couldn't help the scoff that escaped her, the exhilaration and fear of impact having made her heart race and her lungs breathless. A twinkle of amusement glittered in her green eyes after she realized the danger had passed, giving Brokenstream a mock-glare.
"Ohh, real f-f-funny!" She huffed, flicking the Lionheart's shoulder with her tail. And yet, even as the medicine cat seemed frazzled and freaked out, she also realized she was having... fun. Sure, slipping on ice was sorta terrifying, but in the thrilling way? At least, if she knew someone was there to catch her, right? Berryshine gave Brokenstream a small nudge on his shoulder, adding lowly, "A-And thanks!" In response to saving her from the dreadful collision that would've ensued.
Now glancing at Soaringpaw, Berryshine was happy to see that the apprentice was already moving on. Good! "S-Sorry about that!" She called sheepishly, skin feeling hot under her fur. And as Brokenstream called out the next command, the small brown molly kept her grumblings quietly to herself — aw c'mon, she was just getting the hang of this, now she had to keep one paw up? Huffing, the she-cat did her best to shakily raise one of her forelegs, wobbling as she tried to keep balance.

Oho, he was on fire. Oh yeah. Stagheart hadn't felt this exhilarated—in the fun way, that is—in a long time. It made him feel several moons younger than he was.
Part of him almost felt bad that he hadn't gone to try and stop the Berry-Soaring collision, but to be fair, he wouldn't have been able to get over in time with all his momentum. He hadn't been slowed at all, after all — not yet. Chuckling and giving Brokenstream a grateful nod as he whizzed on by, Stagheart glanced over his shoulder.
"He's right, Berry — we need ya for when I crash into the nearest tree," he joked, his voice as dry as ever, yet amused. Hearing the medicine cat complain about the obstacles was hilarious to him, too — the challenges just made it more fun. Of course, that was hard for the fearful she-cat to see when she could hardly keep her paws straight.
Hearing the Head Lionheart's next instructions, Stagheart's eyes narrowed in concentration as he ever-so-carefully lifted one of his forelegs. Snorting at himself, he felt as silly as a kit walking alongside a massive warrior, but it was the name of the game. And he was a bit too deep in now to give up. Okay, okay... so far, so good. Who else was with him, a bunch of apprentices? Was he really gonna sabotage some kids? Nah... not yet. He was better than that.
(Not till he had to, at least.)

Duskleaf was slightly surprised by how close Irisdream sat to him, he smiled slightly as she sat down beside him. He couldn’t help but chuckle slightly as she mentioned that she’d probably make a fool of herself. "And ye'll not be the only one, that's for sure!" He laughed slightly, turning his gaze to the frozen river. If he wasn’t actually racing, Duskleaf would’ve enjoyed watching, sure this was guaranteed to become a comedy from the sidelines.
Duskleaf smiled in amusement at Irisdream's light tease about his little head start earlier, but felt his heart warm when he realised she was genuinely concerned about him getting an injury. "I’ll try to be careful — no promises though!" He laughed at the end, sure he'd be sliding all over the place in a minute! He turned his head as Brokenstream told everyone to race…on three legs? "We better join in before they leave us behind!" He said to Irisdream, before darting towards the frozen river, his back right leg raised, trying to use it for balance if he couldn’t use it for running.
"Hey, Stonepaw," The Lionheart donned a mischievous grin as he turned back towards the apprentice. "Why don't you come help me with the next task?" Without waiting for an answer, he scurried further up river. He hoped she would have fun with this, he felt bad that she wasn't participating.
As he finally made it to his destination, a small pile of softly-packed snow stood. Not dense enough that it would hurt anyone, of course, but actually soft enough to surprise their clanmates. Excitement and playfulness lit his face as he looked at Stonepaw. "Alright! What we're gonna do his take these snowballs and slide them on the course towards the racers!" He explained, looking proud of his idea. "Mind you, don't get on the raceway." The tom added quickly. "Just stand near the edge of the riverbank and roll them out." To demonstrate, Brokenstream quickly swatted two snowballs onto the track. "Come on! Let's go!"
Hey guys! Hope everyone's having fun so far! If you need a refresher on how this works, please refer to the rules!

Re: [RC EVENT] Ice Racin'
Mosspaw set down her paw, relieved. *Finally!* she thought to herself.
Suddenly, she felt soft, icy, cold fluff under her paws as she slid on the river. She looked down. A snowball had been crushed by her weight. She giggled and swatted the snow away. She looked up, returning to attention, when she noticed more snowballs rolling onto the icy track. "Watch out!" she called to her clanmates, nearly missing a small snowball. She giggled. This was fun! Now, to see if she could doge them all. That could be fun! She could make it into a game. *Dodge the snowballs!* she thought enthusiastically.

Ah, Brokenstream wanted her help!? Stonepaw's ears perked up in surprise, and she tried her best to run after him. It wasn't too far of a trek, they just stopped further up the frozen river.
"Oh... I've made a snowball before," the apprentice meowed. With Soaringpaw and Fawnpaw that one time. ...Not like it was that great of an experience, but she did enjoy looking at all the snow.
Stonepaw had some slight reservations about throwing the snowballs at the racing cats, but it did sound fun. They were soft anyways, it's not like they could really hurt anyone. The concern came with how they would dodge them.
"R-Right!" Stonepaw quickly rolled up a snowball as well, trying to hold it together in her paw and throwing it onto the ice. Ah, that one didn't get very far. Brokenstream was already tossing them, she had to catch up! Stonepaw made a few more, which did better this time, hopefully proving a good obstacle for the cats playing.
