Saltcloud sighed, biting back grumbling noises as he padded away towards a puddle, sniffing it and then stepping over to a non frozen or wet area right next to it, leaving a scent marker. As he moved away from it he narrowly missed stepping directly into a bit of mud, he couldn't help but be thankful he missed the mud since it would take absolutely ages for it to get out of his fur and he did not want to have to lick it off, and the water was too cold, and gross, to try and get it off with.

He walked with the patrol and nodded to SeaBreezes instructions upon them being given. “A’ight.” he said before going and renewing the border scent marks.

Owlthroat chuckled at Wispypaw’s comment. ”Damn right”, he pressed his nose back down and headed along the border. Marking his scent as he went.

Once the rest were done, he’d head back. Despite his thick pelt, the cold seemed to bite into his bones.

He continued to make a few scent markers as he sniffed down the border, and by the time he was done, he was convinced he would never not smell like fish and muck.

Wispypaw had nothing else to add or make more conversation with so they moved on. The feline brushed against more brushes they felt for leaving behind their scent as a marker. Their face was scrunched up in distaste of the scent they could smell, so they worked fast. The paw then proceeded to circle back and rub against the same brushes again, returning the strong smell back to them. Maybe some riverclan cat would remember which clan was on the other side.
