"Are you listening, starchild?"
Purrks: Agatha Kitty [ACTIVE]

Shellkit seemed a bit ditzy, only recognizing the Lionheart as a cat in the conversation once she addressed him herself. It earned him a a light hearted chuckle for her adorable lack of awareness. But he figured out she was there soon enough, that's all that mattered anyways. He flung his head over like a ragdoll to respond to her question, mewing and bounding with excitement. She'd have to take this kid out for a run once they got back to their older camp. They certainly had the energy. "That's great, chap. Meetin' yer clanmates depicts the same teamwork we warriors use in battle." She gave Shellkit a playful bat at the ears. "So, I think yer shapin' outta be somethin' good for the clan. Ya too, Starrykit." She flashed her teeth at the apprentice in a quick and cheery smile hoping to unease whatever tension was in her mind.
While she smiled, she noticed the kit shrink back, nudging her food a bit closer to her... (Agatha Kitty) was Starrykit malnourished? The Lionheart stiffened up. "Need anythin' else ta eat dear? It it's too big for ya, I can cut it up and split it between me and Shellkit o'er there." There was no way she'd let anykit go hungry, not while she was still living and kicking. She just couldn't believe that Starrykit didn't feel safe enough around the two of them to trust them around her food. "Who has been taking care of ya? Don't need ta answer if ya don't wanna, but I'm just askin'. I wanna make sure yer well fed."

Wow!! Praise from one of the Lionhearts!! Eep - he really wished she hadn't mentioned battle though...Hmmm... But the idea of having friends to protect him in battle seemed nice. If he had enough friends, maybe he could just wait it out at the back, and they'd do all the work - perfect! "Thank you!!!!" He yelled excitedly, spinning around in a circle. Wow, he had a lot of energy today!
Owltalon looked a little concerned about Starrykit, but he couldn't for the life of him figure out why. She had a nice fish type thing! She had to be enjoying it! He perked up at the idea of sharing the fish - ooooh that'd be nice!! He didn't wanna steal Starrykit's fish though, she seemed very protective of it..

12 moons || she/her || RiverClan Warrior || Silver Tongue long furred silver smoke she-cat; blue eyes
One of the perks of finally being a warrior was the privilege to go one solo patrols through the territory - even if this wasn't territory Wrenseeker was all that familiar with. Still, in the two-ish moons RiverClan had been stuck here for which Wren, personally, deemed there to be no reason (they should have stayed in the forest, chosen a new location for their camp that none of the other clans knew about and stuck it out as a show of strength), the rocky ground beneath her paws had grown to be familiar to the silver feline, if only a little bit. She still wouldn't say she knew each turn and each cranny like the back of her paw, but she knew it well enough.
Today's mission was simple - she wanted to fish in the river. Although the water was pretty fast moving, Wren was sure there would likely be some bigger fish there, maybe even salmon if she was lucky. Wren had always considered herself an excellent fisher, hell, when she was taking her assessment - even though it got interrupted - Dusklion had been very impressed with her catches! Wren told herself she didn't care what the deputy thought, she never even liked Dusklion, but, truthfully, the compliment made her glow with pride.
[roll: 10 - narrow miss]
Settling down by the water's edge, she squints her eyes as the fast moving water sprays her face, fur fluffed up against the chill of the water. Once, she spots a fish jump out of the water as it was heading downstream. She didn't make a grab for it, as the action had surprised her, but she kept her eyes peeled for the next time it happened, and then... she reached out with a forepaw, but the fish was a whisker's length away from the very tip of her claws.
Frustrating as this was, Wrenseeker doesn't let it deter her, the next fish will come and, when it does, she will be ready to grab it. Above, a bird calls, Wren doesn't know enough about the birds of prey to know if it's a hawk or an eagle, but it doesn't matter... it sounds a far way off. Settling herself again by the water, Wrenseeker keeps her eyes on the current and on the fish rushing occasionally by beneath.
[roll: 19 - success]
Her patience rewards her, and soon, a large trout springs out of the water - and close enough for her to grab, too! One of her claws digs into the scales as Wren scoops the fish from the air and onto the rocky shore, pinning it so it stops flopping around and biting it's throat out. It doesn't move after that. Satisfied, Wren licks the fish blood from her lips and kicks the trout a little ways away, just so it isn't as close to the river bank, and scoots back in position to fish up another trout or two.
It's when the next trout breaches the water that Wrenseeker realizes just how severely she'd miscalculated how close the raptor was to her. In the sky above, she hears a call and all her fur stands on end, crystal eyes open wide to the sky to watch as a golden eagle shoots down toward the freshly caught fish in her claws.
Wren doesn't think, and maybe that's the reason things went so south so quickly, but she engaged the bird and fights over her catch. She's by no means a small cat, but the eagle is massive, too, and it's talons are sharp as they cut into her arms, drawing blood that stains the rocks below and the air with the smell of iron.
"That's RiverClsn's fish!" She yowls indignantly over the sound of the bird's incessant squawking. Wren's claws connect with its chest, but she feels herself slip almost harmlessly between the slick brown feathers. The eagle, however, seems solely focused on stealing her trout from her, and Wren, for her part, is solely focused on not losing this prey. RiverClan needs all it can get.
Apparently frustrated with her, and miffed that she won't let it near the two trout she's caught, the bird starts fighting back, and, in a moment, Wren's vision goes sort of... black tinged with red, and only after two seconds does the pain hit her. She screams and she screams, lashing out, bust she can't seem to make contact with the bird again.
The bird, however, isn't done with her it seems, and sharp talons grip her foreleg and her neck, nearly squeezing the air out from her as sharp nails pierce the flesh on her neck. The next minute, Wren is weightless, and she knows better than to struggle now. The bird could drop her, and she has no way of knowing just how high up it brought her.
She doesn't worry for long, though, because she is once again weightless, but this time in a different way... the eagle dropped her. She plummets to the ground, and doesn't even have the time to scream or formulate a plan. The next second she collides with the rocky ground, her head slamming onto a sharp rock, blood pooling from the new wound. Sightless, sliced open eyes, blown wide in shock as her body stills with shock, the life seeping out of it until the silver feline is motionless by the river.
The only evidence of either trout she had caught that remains is the ripped off neck from the very first catch that day. What a shame... RiverClan could have used that food.

Snorting in frustration, Brokenstream realized that it appeared his apprentice hadn't even followed him out of camp. Tail twitching in annoyance, he finished marking the borders and turned to head back to report that his patrol was completed.

"I try not to question twolegs really. They are so weird."
Smiling gently Willowtail nodded, "I wouldn't want to."

Letting out a sigh, Brokenstream padded quietly along the new terrain, hating the one the rocks stuck in between his paws. This wasn’t home, but he needed to take a walk to get some air. He not-so-secretly hoped one day they’d return to RiverClan’s original territory, but he would continue to support his Clan even if it meant staying out here forever. His pelt rippled uncomfortably. Forever? He couldn’t help but suppress a shudder and he exhaled yet another sigh.
However, when he went to go take another breath in, a sharp, bitter tang caught on his tongue. Light green eyes widening, he immediately broke into a sprint towards the smell. ’Blood!’ The tom thought nervously zigzagging around the terrain until he finally skidded to a halt. He’d be correct. It had been mixed with the scent of RiverClan.
Biting back a yowl of dismay, Brokenstream had to pause not to heave at the gruesome sight before him. No, he had no time to. He needed to bring her home. ”Wrenseeker. May StarClan light your path.” He murmured, desperately hoping that StarClan could hear him out here. As gently as he could, while trying not to grimace, he hoisted Wrenseeker’s body onto his shoulders and trudged solemnly back to camp.

Brokenstream staggered into camp, the weight of Wrenseeker’s body starting to take a toll on him as he finally reached the edge of the clearing. Blood staining his pelt, he gently lowered her to the ground before nearly collapsing himself. However, he knew he needed to push through. His eyes were clearly glazed with shock and grief at the sight of Wrenseeker’s battered body, and he stunk of blood and some sort of bird. He had to push through.
”Fadingstar! You must come quickly!” He called hoarsely, stepping forward to use his body to shield the rest of his Clanmates as best as he could from the sight before them.

It took longer than it was supposed to, getting his apprentices out and leading them out towards the woods as Dusklion had requested but it was Seabreeze’s own fault. It’s been a bad morning for him, everything was moving through half frozen water. Though he needed to get this done. He wasn’t going to let his apprentices fail a patrol because of him! Seabreeze hadn’t really missed a patrol either and he could t really afford to miss one either. So he padded out and as the forest approached, he slowed down barely and spoke out to his apprentices, “You guys go ahead of me and start, I want to see your forms from the the last time we went over lessons.” That and he was beyond tired right now. But they didn’t need to know that.
