lesson 1: the territory tour

Darklight

Early in the morning, the large warrior was up and at 'em, padding to the apprentice's den and ducking in. With no regard for any slumbering apprentices (this earned him a sharp, annoyed hiss from Briarpaw) the tom called loudly into the den. "Lionpaw, it's time for training." Yes, Lionpaw was 2 moons old, and probably wouldn't be very fast or have mush stamina, but Darklight was here to kill his ex and, in a more current timeframe, kill time while he waited. So... training a child. That was it.

[so sorry for the shorter post, I'm trying to knock out all replies out tonight since I'm going on a small break on the 12-14 and want a clean slate for when I return!! @Woodlow ]

A loud voice broke through Lionpaw's slumber. Dreams of fighting hordes of ShadowClan warriors were shattered as Darklight called him to train. He yawned and lazily sat up to stretch the drowsiness from his limbs. Why does training have to start so early? He almost wished he could be demoted then and there, just so he could go back to bed.

Lionpaw let out a grumpy snort, and glared at no one in particular, before following Darklight outside.

The lanky black oriental waved his tail in greeting to his apprentice, ignoring his apprentice's clear need to start slow, and turned on his heel. "Today we'll be starting off with a territory tour and end with a hunting lesson." Darklight declared. It would be a long day for both toms, but it was necessary.

He perked up at the mention of a territory tour. That meant Lionpaw would get to leave the camp! Shaking the sleepy, grumpy thoughts from his brain he raced after the dark tom, eager to start training. He wondered if they'd get to fight off any trespassers during the tour.

"Will we get to fight some trespassers too!" The little tom felt more than ready to take on a rogue or two.
