So things had been rather... Stressful of late.

The twoleg issue was not getting any better and cats were still getting hurt and being taken by the traps all over the territory. The farm was still being built. And the plans the high ranks had were.... Well it only highlighted the powerlessness of the situation.


In that Crowtooth, and probably the clan, desperately needed something light and happy to take their minds off of everything. Sooooooo here was this stupid idea.


"Windclan! Gather up if ya 'ave no fear o' bugs an' are lookin' fer some fun!


Today Ive safety proofed a small tunnel system an' yall are goin' in there ta find the coolest bug ya can! Once ya do we're gonna take those bugs an' theyre gonna fight fer our entertainment in a huge bug battle tournament! Winnin' bug gets ta live an' the cat who picked the bug gits a cool dried snake" tw skeleton "I found in the tunnels! Also praise.


Its as simple as that so git over 'ere an' git down there in the burrow ta find yer bugs! Ill call ya again when its time fer the fight!
AN' NO DAMN SCORPIONS!!!"
This might make some twitchy clanmates grossed out but who cares, they could go hide until the bugs killed eachother and it was over.

Event Rules

• Each cat is to go and catch themselves a live bug, any bug, so long as it exists in maine.
• Out of rp you are to find me some proof, any proof, that the bug exists in maine as a native or introduced bug and link me the website/photo of the book/proof in the post of your cat bringing back the bug.
• If you need it a helpful site is here that can tell you about common bugs.
• So long as you can prove it that bug is your fighter!
• No deadly bugs allowed. As dreamheart chose their bug before the rule if they wish to stick to their choices they can keep it but theyre the only one.
• If a bug has already appeared twice then it is not to appear again, be original. Once again because yall give me hives and ian/moondew/ollie made their selections before the rule they are the acceptation, seriously no more wheelbugs theyre supposed to be RARE in maine.
• Note to rani: close every loophole before doing an event of this nature again jesus christ.
• On the 12th Crowtooth will call everyone back and I will release the bracket of bug fighting and the date each fighter is fighting on, if you do not post on that day you will be disqualified so be ready!
• The bugs will be placed in a 'arena' together and each cat gets a chance to do something to boost their bugs chances as long as it does not hurt the opponent bug (alter the arena, feed their bug a herb, make their bug mad, ect) based on how good I deem that boost to be you will be awarded up to 5 bonus points.
• I will go over their 'stats' online and based on bug biology I will award the bug a bonus score up to 7 points.
• Then I will roll a D20 for each bug and add on each bugs bonus points to their roll. The bug with the higher score will win, kill the other bug, and advance.

On top of the winner cat getting the snake skeleton there will be kk prizes!

1st place will get 20,000kk
2nd place will get 15,000kk
The two people in 3rd will get 10,000kk each.

Everyone else will get 2,000kk so long as they complete their bug battle, win or lose (so if you drop out before you get to fight you get nada)

Spottedpaw walked in with a curious look, bugs huh? Well she was never one that was very big on bugs but she had seen one that had interested her long ago. A snake skeleton was an interesting prize for this game, she wondered if she would actually win? Nah.

So the apprentice set off to find where she could gather the buggie in her minds eye and after a bit of search. Ok a lot of searching she found the state bug of connecticut beautiful praying mantis. It was a fight to get it back without harming it or it flying off but she came back with her prize. "This one is mine."

Freezekit swiveled his ears towards the warrior's call. He snorted. A bug battle. How stupid. But... It could take his mind off of other things. Like how he hasn't became an apprentice yet. Plus, he'd get to go down in the tunnels again. That would make him have an advantage over the others, since he is already blind. Why not. He padded over.

NOPE NOPE NOPE! Darting over to grab Freezekit before he could escape camp to the tunnel system (because there was no tunnels inside camp (that the clan knew about or could access)) the kit was frog marched/carried back to camp and deposited on the ground before the deputy loudly declared. "OK IT SHOULDVE BEEN OBVIOUS BUT I SUPPOSE ILL BE CLEAR NOW! NO KITTENS! BABIES STAY INSIDE CAMP, YALL AINT ALLOWED OUTSIDE OR NEAR THE TUNNELS, EVEN SAFE ONES!


If ya wanna watch the battles feel free an' if ya can find a bug in camp ya can join but yall are NOT goin' outside ta the gatherin' trip.
Stars only reason the apprentices are goin' is 'cuz we're in a group an' I personally made sure the burrow is safe but no. babies.

It'd be hard to find a bug in the camp and there probably werent any good ones, mostly small beetles, a small spider or two, some flies, but if Freezekit wanted he could try or listen, thats it.

Wind rushed in Freezekit's ears as he was dragged backwards suddenly, making him stumble and lose his balance. He was stunned for a moment, feeling himself being dragged, until the scents of Windclan's camp wreathed around him again. A surge of anger rushed forward. He hadn't expected to be picked up so suddenly like that and, what now-- He listened to the warrior and-- "Excuse me?" He snapped, turning with unseeing eyes to face the warrior. Did. He. Just. Call. Him. A. Baby? His fur bristled in indignation, and he had to restrain himself from clawing the stupid warrior's face right that second. "I am not a baby. I should be an apprentice right now! The only reason why I'm not is because Twilightstar hasn't called a meeting yet," he blurted out angrily. Did he look like a kit?He was nine moons old! Had the warrior had to survive for moons by himself as a three moon old kit? Did the warrior have had to learn how to hunt from rogues just to survive? No, he didn't think so. He was sure he could handle a little trip to the tunnels. He'd already been there many times when he was wandering, for star's sake! It was one of the main reasons he was still alive. He knew what to watch out for. Even if he hadn't been entirely interested before, suddenly he had the irrational urge to just go and prove the warrior wrong.

Rabbitpaw’s ears twitched as he exited whatever den he was staying in for the night, alarmed by the sounds of distress and anger after what sounded like his father calling together an event. Oh. Oh… the feline pauses, watching as the ‘kitten’ yelled at his father, it was clear where the anger was coming from. Rabbitpaw has seen it on one of his best friends many a time in their moons together. The blonde made his way over, giving a little smile.

“Hey, I’m Rabbitpaw.” He greeted politely, offering a small, slightly unsure purr in direction of Freezingkit before continuing. “No one, and I mean no one, is questioning your ability to do something like this. I can understand how you’re frustrated, I’ve almost lost friends because he was feeling the same way, like he was falling behind and wasn’t being allowed to catch up.” Rabbitpaw himself now fell into this group, being… 16 moons now and still holding a ‘paw name. Sometimes that’s simply how it goes.

“Twilightstar has been busy, with twoleg activity and things within camp, sometimes it just takes a moment to call together a meeting. How about, in the meantime, I go and collect a bug for you and when I get back we do some training together.” Rabbitpaw was a kit curriculum teacher, but he’s also helped with his friends and fellow clan members alike when it’s come to his training. “If you’re really interested, I can even show you some tunneling basics in camp, I’ve been trained for tunneling myself.” He finished, knowing the interest in the art has spiked and maybe the lighter note could have the younger feline settle in to wait for the group’s return.

“If it helps, you aren’t alone in this feeling. I’m… nearly 16 moons now, and I still have my ‘paw name.” Due to a bunch of reasons but it was common for cats to go over the usual 12 moon average from time to time, the blonde’s mind flickered an image of Lightningpaw who was older and still also ‘in training.’ Simply how the tunnel crumbled sometimes.

Bit of an uppity brat this one. Sitting, nonplussed at the yapping the tom snorted, ready to reply before Rabbitpaw, ever always nice his kid, came over to help. Well if the tom wanted to help Freezekit he was all for it but Crowtooth was gonna shine a bit of light on the situation first.


"Now dont ya go blamin' Twi fer yer mistake Freezekit." The drawl was amused but slightly warning, deputy's tail flicking. "Yer not a kit 'cus o' anythin' Twi did, yer a kit still 'cuz ya were right dumb. Ya got mad over words an' snuck outta camp when ya shouldve known better, especially given yer circumstances, an' ya got lost. Fer three moons, at least.


Yer a kit still 'cuz o' that an' should be happy if our leader dont delay yer ceremony again until ya learn sense." For now Crowtooth wasnt going to do anything but he knew full well of Freezekits interest in tunneling and no matter the amount of help and training the kit got prior to apprenticeship if the deputy deemed him too much of a risk to teach the skill the kit wouldnt become a tunneler at all. And Rabbitpaw probably knew that, knowing the importance Crowtooth placed on cation and care in the deep. A reckless belligerent cat did not a tunneler make, nor did a cat who tried to fight the deputy for enforcing a known rule like kit staying in camp.



Yeah maybe it was a good idea to leave Freezekit with Rabbitpaw, let the older apprentice teach the younger some sense.


For now the deputy was focusing on his event and, after yawning and rasping a tongue over Rabbitpaws head he stood and padded off, tossing a "Stay in camp wit' Freezekit or go git an extra bug fer him dont matter ta me. But I see a kit outta camp Im demotin' 'em an' thats deputies orders.



An' 'eres an apprentice already wit' their bug, that is a NICE one Spottedpaw! Good work!"

The two better speed up on bug finding if they were participating though, the first cat and first bug was already back and it was a good one if the tom said so himself, stopping by the molly and peering at the thing.

DREAMHEART

Well, this seemed mighty interesting! Dreamheart dipped her head to Crowtooth as she sprinted off into the tunnels, fluffy tail waving behind her. She looked and looked, and eventually found an interesting.. Spider. Ooh, Ferncurl wouldn't like this. She wasn't a fan of bugs. After many failed attempts at catching the spider, the blue-grey warrior eventually managed and carried it carefully back to camp, her unfocused, dreamy looking eyes not quite focusing correctly on Crowtooth. "Found one." Dreamheart has brought back a Black Widow Spider.

Ferncurl hated this already. She didn't particularly like actively searching for bugs, and stayed with the kits to watch instead, though she gave her sister Dreamheart and affectionate purr when the warrior came back with a spider.

Mistyheart look3d at the weird bug. What even was it? Oh well, it looked menacing. He picked it up, and then dropped it as it began writhing around. H3le got it to crawl onto the end of a stick, and then carried the stick back to camp. "I don't know what this is, but I'm submitting it!"
