Dandelionmane stared down silently at the kit pressed against their side, tears began to sting in the corners of their eyes before pooling and rolling down their cheeks. Their only adult friend was... gone. Never to be seen again. The silence of the nursery felt... deafening.

Dandelion was about to ask Bounceflame to be their mate, but hadn't gotten the courage to. Then she'd gone into labor.. and that's where Dandelion lost their best friend, and gained a new adopted son. The pure white warrior gently nosed the kitten, they often found themself checking to make sure Flamekit was still living, afraid that if they looked away for even a second their precious baby would simply cease to exist, taking the last thing of Bounce that they still had.

Flamekit was crying by your side realizing the truth that had happen, their mother was gone, truly gone... Now they only have Dandelion to watch over them.

Dandelionmane's pale orange gaze fell on Flamekit, their chest ached with emotion as they wrapped their tail around the kit, pulling him as close to themself as they could

"I'm... I'm sorry Flamekit" She murmured softly in the kit's ear, licking his forehead gently in an attempt to calm the poor creature. They longed for their friend, both to help take care of Flamekit and for their own personal reasons.

The pure white warrior's ear flicked as their gaze flickered to the den entrance for a moment. They'd taken to the habit of checking the den entrance, hoping that Bounceflame would simply just appear, making all the pain and hurt go away.

Flamekit slowly calms down but it's still hurt deep inside, he looks up at them with his eyes filled with pure pain and frustration. "I miss her, Dandelionmane! At least I have you... This is my fault" Flamekit huffs with frustration

The pure white warrior was pulled out of their own grieving upon hearing Flamekit's words

"Flamekit- Sweetheart no- It's not your fault at all-" they said frowning, wrapping their tail tighter around the kit

"I promise you" Dandelionmane nuzzled against the tom-kit.

Flamekit is kind of convinced. Flamekit looks up at Dandelionmane once more but with a more hopeful look. "I'll try my best to keep up with my feelings." Flamekit said hopefully

A look of concern crossed their face as a soft sigh escaping them "Your mother would be so proud of you Flame" They said softly, glancing down at their paws before looking back to Flamekit "Don't grow up too fast kiddo" They murmured softly,
