Sunlight shone through the apprentice’s den. It felt strange for Carppaw whenever she should change her sleeping positions, and she already felt a bit homesick, despite from the fact that the nursery is close to the apprentice’s den. Moreover, they both take place at the Windclan camp, so why should she doubt about it?

Anyhow, it’s her very first day of training session! Carppaw immediately arose from her nest and leapt out of the den, her hazel eyes darting across every single direction of the camp as she’s in search for Sunstorm. She’s only one step closer to warriorhood, yet her apprenticeship has already begun!

“Oooh, Suuunstoorm!” She lifted up her head here and there while she calls out her mentor’s name.

Sunstorm heard the young apprentice calling his name. "Good morning Carppaw," he mewed. The tom stretched. The brisk morning air felt good at first, but Sunstorm was chilled within seconds.

It only took a few moments before she spotted a bright ginger silhouette – which, of course, is her mentor. Swift and immediate, she ran to Sunstorm, and hopped around in circles, as she could barely balance her excitement. “Hiya, Sunny!” There’s still a lot train as an apprentice, but who knows what she should start off with. Maybe hunting? Or fighting? Probably hunting down a rabbit! Yes, she loved the plentiful rabbit meat. And someday, she’ll manage to catch one by herself aswell! Dad’s gonna be so proud of her.

But seriously, she’s already geared up for the training, so what’s the point of waiting anyway? “C’mon! I don’t wanna miss out my first day of training!” She spoke before she flashed away to the exit of the camp. She didn’t focus wether Sunstorm might be following her or not. But her bursting energy makes her completely forget it.

Sunstorm snickered to himself at the apprentices excitement. It was understandable, her first day of training, her first steps to becoming a warrior, he remembered it all too well. He padded after the apprentice. "I hope you know what you're doing, cuz I haven't shown you a thing" he purred.

“Oh, what is it, then?” She looked up to her mentor while she bouncingly follows her mentor to the ideal training place. She’s too excited to even focus, and she never leaves the camp unless a warrior is guiding her. And speaking of leaving the camp, it was her first time being in Windclan territory! It’s unusually vast and huge, with the moorland stretching all over the place until it finally reaches the borders. It was the greatest scenery she has ever witnessed.

Sunstorm shook his head jokingly, purring as the apprentice slowed down for him. His emerald gaze flickered to the territory in front of them. "Alright, well I'll give you the choice," the tom mewed. "Hunting or fighting training today?," he asked the apprentice.

“Oh, oh! Hunting!” Carppaw doesn’t have to hesitate since she knew what she planned to learn all along. She used to hunt bugs, but now she’s ready to hunt down real prey, like real warriors usually do. “I wanna do hunting training! I reeeeally wanna do hunting training!” Her bouncing gate develops into even more bouncier bounces, her gleeful eyes even wider. She’s more than ready to start the training. She will never forget that wonderful sensation. Never.

"Let, me guess, we'll hunt down a..." She would dramatically pause for fun. "A Rabbit! Yesss!"

Sunstorm purred, his tail tip twitching with amusement. "Alright, then that is what we shall do," the tom mewed. He walked towards the camp entrance, beckoning Carppaw to him. As they stepped out of the camp, the true vastness of the moors opened up before them.

She once got used to hunting with small critters like bugs and knew that they recklessly crawl or flutter around, ready to be caught. But this one seems different. In fact, where even is the prey? Where should the hunting session actually take place? Her brows furrow, perplexed as she faces the reality of her expectation.

“I don’t see the prey…” The apprentice assumed. She could only hope for her training to avoid being backfired.
