Shrikeslip sighed, laying in the rather ruthless and unloving warmth of the sun. It was almost unwelcoming. His mind wandered to thought of his former mate, long past. He was alone, raising two kits on his own..

"I think I like when it rains.."

Finally! Sunnypurr finished grooming his pelt, shaking out his thick pelt before standing and stretching, his muscles rippling beneath his fur. He scanned the clearing, his long, thickly furred tail flicking behind him. The warrior spotted Shrikeslip, and he bounded over, twisting around to sit next to him. They nudged the tom playfully with their paw, grinning. "Hey. You alright? You look a bit upset, eh?" Sunnypurr asked, ears flicking as he asked the question. He smiled at the tom, tilting his head gently.

Shrikeslip looked over at Sunnypurr, giving him a tired but happy smile, his half-tail swaying. "Just tired. My kids are growing up.. they're apprentices soon, and I've been raising them on my own." He sighed and sat up, stretching.

Sunnypurr let out a hum, taking a place above the tom to block his face from the sun. The warrior grinned teasingly, tail whisking. "We have dens to sleep if you're so tired, silly." The tom snickered, leaning back as Shrikeslip sat up. Sunnypurr tilted his head. "Apprentices? Well. Everyone grows up," He said, smiling at the other tom. "Plus, I think you're doing a wonderful job raising 'em. Even if it all on you." Sunnypurr added softly.
