Beepaw was sprinting out of the apprentice den the moment he woke up, he hadn't even had the time to really give his short fur a thorough groom. Jumping around happily as he waited on his mentor.

Cedarstrike emerged from the warrior's den, scanning the area for her apprentice. When she spotted him, the she-cat greeted him with a nudge of her nose.
"Good morning, Beepaw! I hope you're ready to start your day." She smiled, sitting and curling her tail around her paws as she explained today's lesson. "You're going to be working on hunting- In an albeit... Unconventional way. I don't want to take you out of camp juuuust yet, so... You'll learn how to be sneak up on your prey by catching," She gestured over to a grasshopper minding its business in the clearing. "Bugs!"
[This takes place during lockdown I assume, otherwise, she'd just take him outta camp]

You've had to walk a dark and terrible path alone.
Beepaw jumped excitedly from paw to paw, eyes shining as he looked from the bug and back up to his mentor. "Bug hunting! This is going to be so fun, no bug is going to stand a chance!" Beepaw dropped into a crouch, albeit a sloppy one, but a crouch nonetheless. "And once I get the bugs I will be Thunderclan's best hunter, and best fighter, I will be the best warrior!!" Maybe that was reaching too far into the stars, but it was a goal at least.

As far as a reach that it realistically was, Cedarstrike would certainly try her hardest to make his little dream come true. Mentoring the best warrior ever was quite a daunting task for herself, however...........
Still! Baby steps.
Cedarstrike nudged and adjusted his body to be in proper position with a chuckle. "You'll definitely be on your way, that's for sure. Now... Watch me." The she-cat crouched alongside him before slowly and silently creeping towards the unsuspecting grasshopper aaaaand...... POUNCE!
The little bug was underneath her paws. When she let it go, it hopped a ways away, ripe for Beepaw's taking. "You try!"

Beepaw watched his mentor with bright eyes. This was it, his first lesson! It looked easy enough anyways. His eyes tracked the grasshopper as he crept forward. His bobbed tail flicked as he wiggled his haunches and suddenly...
He leapt forward!!
Beepaw has rolled a 5! Oh dear
It was clear Beepaw misjudged his leap, because the apprentice flew right over his target, and as if overjumping wasn't bad enough, he landed awkwardly, ending up on his back somehow where he just lay there, trying to process what had just happened.
