RiverClan post battle healing thread

This is the post battle healing thread for riverclan after the battle for the firefly cove! If you have an injured cat please post here detailing the injuries and I'll have Snakeheart come and asses your cat and get to healing!

If the injuries are deemed minor enough the healing may be passed down to Reedpaw @Nixey or Morninglily @littlelove to free up my replies! You can post a healing request in this thread if you want and it'd be really appreciated as it really helps me out healing but you dont have to and dont bother waiting for me to accept you, you can post right away in this thread. This thread takes place immediately post battle in the riverclan clearing and if your cat would need help getting back from the cove feel free to pm me and we can organize a helper to bring your cat in. Remember Snakeheart is good but a tad stressed and snappish and happy roleplaying!

The tom was still sopping wet from his ill fated dip in the river on the way back from the cove but he had his bundle of herbs in mouth at least and had escaped that insane warrior that had scarred him so. Hindsight being 20/20 his actions had been a mistake, he didnt even know how to fight for starclans sake why did he think he'd make a difference poison coating his claws or not? He simply wanted to help though help his clan and in the end he'd made things worse robbing the clan of a chance for him to help heal on the battlefield and potentially stop the deaths (and oh he saw the bodies he knew there was to be deaths) that'd occurred from happening, but he'd let anger and bloodlust and hatred get in the way (all things a proper medicine cat shouldnt have but he was ever a poor medicine cat) and he'd failed his clan. That fact burned. Burned in a way that terrifying warriors actions and words did not.


At least he hadnt lost the herbs he'd brought to do healing and was here now. So dripping wet in the clearing all signs of ever using the poison washed away from his dip in the river Snakeheart called out a clear order in his voice.


"Morninglily! Fetch my herbs from my den and get over here now theres a flood of cats coming and we need to work fast if we stand any chance of healing them! Do any other healing helpers remain? What am I saying of.course they dont move now!"


The injured were soon to file in.

Lilycreek padded in, the scratches on her chest aching. Small amounts of sanguine liquid dripped from them, staining her fur a little. Some fur had been ripped off, but honestly, she hoped it was nothing. She just wanted to curl up beside her mate and kit and go to sleep, but she knew no one would thank her for bleeding all over the place.

"Hello?" She called tentatively.

Wormbite blinked warmly at the blurry shape of his friend, laying on the ground - exhaustion having finally catching up to Snowleap. He held back his apologizes at that it hadn't occurred to him to offer his help on carrying .. the - he swallowed the bitter taste in his mouth, he had been fixated on moving one leg in front of another. Wormbite moved forward, dispersing from Moonfrost's side.

Giving an affectionate nudge to Snowleap, he nudged his muzzle under the deputy's body. Carefully, Wormbite slid Snowleap onto his back. "C'mon, let's get you to Snakeheart, " He grunted, his muscles protesting against the strain of another. Strength was far from being his talent. With a nod to whoever was around him, Wormbite headed into the direction of the medicine cat's den.

Entering into the den, he carried Snowleap into a spare nest. Gently placing him down, a cracked rumble escaped from him. "Sleep well." Pulling away, Wormbite straightened up. With a nod, he exited the den to let Snakeheart do what he had to. He didn't want to crowd.

A flicker of fear rushed through Morninglily as she could hear the bustle of her clanmates returning to camp - and the subsequent call from Snakeheart that came with it. She had known the healer wouldn't skip out on making her help, but the idea of seeing the pure desolation on her clanmate's faces that always came after a battle... It sent a shiver down her spine.

The last battle she'd witnessed the immediate aftermath of had been the previous summer; the fateful, toiling times that had turned Riverclan on its' head and changed her world forever. Even then, she had been in a much more put-together state. Part of the young warrior couldn't help but wonder if she could even help in her condition... though, her mind decided she didn't have much of a choice. Her body practically forced itself along into the medicine den to collect any herbs she thought would be useful.

Forcing herself to focus on the various bundles of herbs around the den, Morninglily supposed that it would probably be better for her to just grab a little bit of everything. She began wrapping some of the herbs she recognized into a bundle, and then the ones she didn't. For good measure, she stuck a couple sticks through the middle - being able to carry everything in a single trip would be easier for everyone involved... probably. Soon enough she emerged from the den, jaws full of what would hopefully help stifle their clanmate's pain. "I just, uh-- grabbed whatever. Let me know if you need anything particular. I still remember the herbs you taught me, if... if I can be of any help."

And so the first of many filed in. Snakeheart hurried over trying to shake off water as he did and without care of personal space checked the molly over with a frantic sort of energy. She seemed fine for the most part, something he was thankful for but didnt have time for at the moment so with a quick "You'll be find dont worry." at the she cat he borderline barked out the loud order of "Morninglilly! We have a cat that needs help over here I think you can handle this one! Use burdock to numb the pain I need to reserve the poppy seed and dandelion for more injured patients." and then he was off darting to the next cat.

This was already looking to be a disaster at the first real cat and Snakeheart wasnt happy about it. Wormbite was coming in and bringing the deputy with him, the deputy who Snakeheart couldnt even tell if was unconscious or just so delirious with bloodloss that it looked that way. Still even if the medicine cats paws were flying and he was mainly focused the tom had the mind to call over his shoulder snappishly not letting the shield get away that easily. "Wormbite you better not be hurt and leaving you hear me! Ive spent too long keeping your dumb furred behind alive and well for you to go off and die in some ditch for the sake of your pride! If you are hurt park your butt down now and I'll get too you, your clan needs you to be well not for you to skulk off." Snakeheart liked Wormbite for all the two didnt really talk and though he couldnt really tell the state of the toms body through his dark fur he.... well he needed to know he wasnt letting a cat die simply because he didnt speak up.


In the meantime waiting for a reply he had Snowleap to tend to. Propping the toms head up with a but of moss the medicine cat scooped up two poppyseeds and a burnet and brought them to the toms head trying to encourage the deputy to swallow before he resorted to shoving them down his throat to heal him. "Come on Snowleap you need to take these. They'll numb the pain and help you keep your strength. Please just try...." there was always the risk of choaking when he forced it so for now, best to give the chance.


He wasnt just waiting still for a reaction though and the tom rapidly grabbed and chewed some dandelion and marigold to begin applying as soon as he got a insight on the deputys state.

There was a scratch at her ear, and her hind paw was dislocated. She had a frown on her face.

➢ After promptly blacking out for a few moments once he reached the clan’s clearing, it wasn’t until he could hear the medicine cat urging him to swallow the herbs that he had been given that he stirred awake once more. Before Snakeheart could shove them forcefully down his throat, the Riverclan deputy swallowed the seeds and burnet as best he could, but he wouldn’t lie: his throat stung horribly as on their way down. His left eye cracked open and locked onto the tomcat as he was preparing more herbs for him. He didn’t know what to say, but it would probably be best if he didn’t speak at all. His mind was numb to everything that had transpired today and Snowleap wished he could just sleep for a full moon.

The deep gash over his right eye was what hurt the most, now that the battle wasn’t taking all his attention away from the pain. Oh Starclan, was he never going to have a full range of sight ever again? At least it wasn’t both eyes, right? Right. He needed to think positively. This could have been much worse. Where was Lynxfall? Shadepaw? Where was Risingpaw and Bluepaw? They wanted to know where their family was. Then it occurred to the dark-furred tomcat that his mouth felt painfully dry. "...water..." He croaked out, hoping Snakeheart would hear. Maybe some water would felt him feel a little bit better. With every breath Snowleap took, his body ached and he wouldn't be surprised if he fainted again.

Morninglily wasted little time in rushing over towards Lilycreek as directed by Snakeheart, her own share of herbs in her jaws. She dropped the bundle next to her patient as she leaned in to get a good look at the wounds on her chest; they seemed somewhat deep, but the queen would live. She moved to grab the herb Snakeheart had directed her to use... and then blanked. He'd... never taught her what burdock looked like, had he? Or maybe she forgot. Yes, forgetting was much easier, and much more in character for her. A wave of embarrassment and shame washed over the warrior. Now Lilycreek would have to be in pain, and it was her fault.

She leaned in closely to the other molly as she choked out a quiet apology. "I-- I don't know which one is burdock. If you think you're okay without a-anything, I'll just disinfect and wrap it. Or I could..." She trailed off. As much as she wanted to help Lilycreek with her pain, something inside of her seized up at the idea of the scolding she would get if she slipped the younger queen some dandelion. What a coward she was.

Morninglily just scolded herself quietly as she began to chew up some marigold into a poultice. It didn't take long for her to have it spread on her clanmate's chest, and she began covering it with a wad of cobwebs. The silence as she worked was deafening, so she figured it wouldn't hurt to distract Lilycreek (and herself) with some small-talk. "S-Sproutkit was very brave while you were gone. He, uh, c-came out looking for you. I'm sure he'll be glad to see... see you safe."

Somehow, despite the pain and the blood loss, Bluepaw got to where Snakeheart was helping injured cats. He collapsed, breathing heavily, his lower jaw snapped to the right painfully, his white fur sticky with blood and dirt, and his eyes had tears. "Hakehert..." He tried to say the medicine cat's name but with how messed up his jaw was, the words came out funny and odd. He hoped Snakeheart would know.

Lilycreek smiled. "Did he? That does sound like him. I'll check up on him later." Poor, nervous Morninglily. "That one's burdock." She flicked her tail toward a plant with dark leaves. "Though I'm glad you didn't chew it. Horrible bitter stuff," she grinned at the other cat.
