Good, she had gotten his name right. That was a good thing. Canyoncall always worries about how correct she would be with certain things, and this was just one of them. Ever since being brought into Riverclan she strived for perfection in some things, and in others not so much, but it was important to know the names of her clanmates. “Nice to see you too,” taking the hint, the molly lowered her voice as she suspected that Kestrelstar wouldn’t be long to start the meeting. ”Its alright,” attempting to speak with the normally gentle voice she used for her siblings whenever soothing worries, Canyoncall had taken in a deep breath as she considered his words. “I think a lot of us are, it’s really nerve wrecking to think there could be something prowling the area awaiting for a lone cat,” faltering for a moment, Canyoncall had taken in a deep breath. She had realized she was explaining her own worries, and for a moment she scolded herself for doing so. She wasn’t supposed to worry about things, it made her seem cowardly. Returning to the warrior, Canyoncall tilted her head before nodding in agreement. It was no use to act as though leaf-bare would be easy for any clan.

Turning her attention towards..Raccoonear, she believed it to be. A soft frown seemed to flicker across her muzzle as she examined the face of the other cat before giving her a smile and nod. With that out of the way, Canyoncall debated in her head about the fact that the coyotes hadn’t been spotted around Riverclan territory, which was relaxing. Casting her gaze yet again back towards Racconear, Canyoncall seemed to raise her brows up slightly before bringing the smile back. ”It’s nice to meet you too, Raccoonear.”

Her anxieties had been released. Just as the meeting begun before Kestrelstar broke wind of the Coyotes, and the other top-of-the-meeting announcements, all Raccoonear could think about was apprentices, being a mentor, the excitement of the kits. She quickly know kid out of it, about to become lost in thought again.

“Congrats on getting an apprentice, Snowleap! I bet you and Finpaw will have great times together. She smiled, parting from Canyoncall and Snowleap to search for her new apprentice. My, how amazing it was to have an apprentice! It joyed her to think that she was helping the clan advance in time. She would assist an apprentice in becoming a warrior who would be another new aspect of the clan, helping it grow and thrive.

She stepped out of the crowd where the two new apprentices stood, smiling and quietly mewing congratulations to the both of them, and then lowering her head to touch noses with Lavenderpaw. My, this was such a huge step in her life…would she be able to handle it? Did all cats getting an apprentice think this way? She raised her head, gave Lavenderpaw a hearty, genuine, smile and sat down again.

Willowfeather’s mouth dropped in shock as she heard her own name announced as a mentor, and it seemed like her heart skipped a beat. It was hard to tell what she truly felt about it, but she felt lighter.But soon enough, she glanced at Nightpaw, and smiled.

The news of the coyotes from the previous meeting being more or less a non-issue was uninteresting to Codpaw, though the prospect of potentially being allowed outside camp again was tempting, though of course Kestrelstar maintained that rule. Codpaw sighed but sat up straighter to show his attentions to the upcoming new apprentices. As they received their new names Codpaw cheered, "Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw! Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw!" The reassignments gave him an itchy feeling as he recalled his own rotating mentors and their inability to stick around or fulfill any of the commitments they made. But then a name stuck out to him, perking his ears. Eveningpaw? It had to be the same, right? His brother had returned. Though Codpaw wasn't sure whether to feel excited or betrayed that he was apparently the last to know of his brother's return. He put his feelings aside to be sorted out later, after the meeting.

Snowleap nodded to Canyoncall and Raccoonear’s words regarding the coyotes. They both had good points, making the tomcat utter a gentle relieving sigh. “I just hope that no cat’s will lose their lives to this leafbare,” He meowed quietly, almost like a mere whisper, “It’s hard enough seeing the damage the coyotes have done to Kestrelstar.” He knew such things were out of his paws and bound to happen, but the dark-furred tomcat wanted to see a positive season ahead, despite all the trouble the cold usually brought the clans. Their leader was healing quickly from the coyote attack and the tomcat knew it wasn’t something he should worry too much over. As the two she-cat’s spoke to one another, Snowleap remained polite and didn’t interrupt as they exchanged respectful greetings. Everything was going smoothly so far during this meeting and for that, the tall tomcat silently thanked Starclan for. However, Snowleap soon found out that he had spoken too soon.

With his hackles raised anxiously, Snowleap watched silently as Sparrowskip and Wormbite deal with not one, but two unknown rogues burst into Riverclan’s camp, who were apparently friends with Silverspot -- a clanmate who he did not know personally. His claws unsheathed as his icy-blue eyes lingered between the molly and their outsider companions, uneasy like many other cats in the crowd were. The tall warrior knew the clan’s shields were more than capable of keeping Riverclan safe, but Snowleap remained on-guard, just in case, until the intruders were completely gone from everyone’s sight. With that out of the way, the young tomcat relaxed, taking a breath and glancing at the two mollies that sat on either side of him, before turning his gaze back up to Kestrelstar. He wasn’t surprised to see the clan leader’s protective, aggressive stance atop the Streamstone, though Snowleap’s attention soon turned to the two young kittens becoming apprentices.

The tall warrior watched with a warm smile as Lavenderkit became Lavenderpaw and Quietkit became Quietpaw. Snowleap had never known what it was like to be born into Riverclan, but he would like to imagine that he had felt the same way when he had been named Snowpaw so many moons ago. Hearing his friend, Raccoonear, be named Lavenderpaw’s mentor. He rested his tail on the molly’s back gently and uttered a soft “congratulations!” as she went forward and touched noses with her new apprentice. Snowleap felt genuine happiness for his dear clanmate, knowing she would make a fine teacher to the young apprentice. As the cats around him began to chat their names, the dark-furred tomcat proudly joined in. “Lavenderpaw! Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw! Quietpaw!” His voice rang out as a part of his clanmates’ chants, feeling like a true Riverclan warrior as he took part in such a simple tradition. Snowleap shut his mouth as the chants soon calmed down and Kestrelstar continued the meeting, reassigning apprentices new mentors so that they could continue their warrior training without delay.

Listening to the grey-furred tomcat list off the names of apprentices and their corresponding mentors, Snowleap tapped his paws on the ground, thinking not much of it. He wondered how many of these apprentices would soon become warriors and if any of them would go hunting with him, much like the young tomcat Dragonflyfrond did. However, Snowleap’s heart skipped a beat as he heard his name being spoken, making him blink at Kestrelstar as the Riverclan leader went and assigned him Finpaw as his very own apprentice. Was this Kestrelstar giving him a second chance? After what happened at the Gathering? He could only see it as such and the thought made him determined to do his best. He gave a firm nod to the clan leader with a slight smile. Hearing Raccoonear congratulate him, Snowleap’s smile grew wider as his heart swelled with excitement. An apprentice of his own! He was finally a mentor! He was in charge of one of Riverclan’s next warriors! As calm as he could muster, Snowleap stood up, much like all the other warriors were doing, and proceeded to look around to find his new apprentice, Finpaw. The tall warrior was nervous and knew that Kestrelstar (and the rest of Riverclan, including young Finpaw) was counting on him. “I won’t let any of you down!” He thought, his tail swishing excitedly behind him. Snowleap hoped the young apprentice would be able to find him, though the tall warrior wasn't too hard to spot, considering how big he was compared to other warriors.

Wolfsong's ears perked as she heard her name. She looked at Moonfrost, excitement glistening in her eyes. Moonfrost returned her sister's gaze warmly and butted her head against Wolfsong's shoulder, urging her forward. Wolfsong padded toward the young cat, head held high.

"Hello, Lightpaw. I am Wolfsong. I look forward to working with you," she mewed kindly to Lightpaw before stretching out her neck to offer to touch noses.

Lizardfrost had only had one apprentice before, from what she remembered. And she hadn't had him for long. He'd turned against RiverClan during a battle. Then he came back and was accepted as Kestrelstar regretted having that battle. When he was young, he'd tried to adopt her as a sort of older sister. It hasn't worked because Lizardfrost didn't understand how that was possible. She wondered how this apprentice would react.

The muscular tuxedo walked over, towering, with a blank expression and bent down to touch noses with the apprentice. She wasn't intentionally being intimidating but she came off that way very often.

Oh? Bristletail was a tad late, but that wasn't a problem. Riverclan wasn't bad. After Kestrelstar's fit of... something she wasn't quite sure the name of, though it seemed to have changed him for the better- changed the clan for the better. But she didn't like to think of the past. Stepping into the clearing from the warriors den, where she had been sleeping, she caught the end of a discussion. She blinked once, hard. Was someone threatening Wormbite? How did someone threaten Wormbite? The other tom was blind, that was true, but it didn't make him any less of a strong warrior. She had seen him grappling with Dusksong before she went missing, and he seemed to be strong. And wasn't he a shield now? She stepped closer, hoping to catch the end of their conversation, only for the outsiders to walk away. Outsiders? The scent of rogues filled her nose without warning. So that was who they were. She gave a nod to Sparrowskip as she turned away. Bristletail doubted he would notice her, but it was always nice to show she noticed them. Turning away, the only thought in her head was that of why the two outsiders were there. She supposed she had missed a good part of the conversation, but the part she had heard was a tad troubling.

Silverspot was Violet's sister? That was worrisome. What if the queen was a traitor or something and ended up only spying for them? Bristletail shivered at the thought. Riverclan was having enough trouble as it was with Shadowclan. She did not want to handle rogues as well. Though, from the looks of them, they should be able to get on fine. A single patrol could take out two cats. Bristletail jumped as Plumstorm plopped down next to her. The shield didn't scare her exactly, but she was quite uncomfortable around her. To be fair, Bristletail was uncomfortable around a lot of cats. What if she said something they didn't like? But as far as she knew, Plumstorm wasn't going to bite her, so it would be fine. Probably. "Honestly? I don't know. I think one of those cats was Silverspots sister, and the other one tried to threaten Wormbite." As she answered Plumstorm's question, she gestured towards the queen with her tail and a smirk found its way to her face as she got to the end. A skinny rogue threatening a shield, part of a group of Riverclans strongest warriors.

Her gaze snapped to Kestrelstar as the leader started speaking. There was no doubt he had said something earlier, so she was determined to stay focused. That was, unless Plumstorm interrupted her thoughts. Having a one-track mind wasn't always a good thing. Bristletail smiled as Quietpaw and Lavenderpaw were given their apprentice names. She could remember how exciting her ceremony had been. Her mouth dropped open as her name was called to mentor a reassigned apprentice. It wasn't her first time, and she wasn't an over-the-top antsy cat, but she had Timberpaw, didn't she? Come to think of it, where was Timberpaw? She hadn't seen the grumpy apprentice for a while. Frankly, she was glad for the change. The other molly had seemed to hate her. Waiting for Wavepaw to appear, she started to chant the new apprentices names, thumping her fluffed tail against the ground. "Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw! Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw!" Her voice was swallowed by many, causing it to drop for the second round of names.

Eaglepaw looks at the ground. Another mentor? Have I done something wrong.... He thinks to himself as he watches Kestrelstar.

The blue-grey tom nudges his half brother. "Cheer up, Eagle, at least your training could continue." He purrs.

Ravenclaw
The wiry blue-grey cat stands and beams at Quietkit. "Quietpaw! Lavenderpaw! Quietpaw! lavenderpaw!" They cheer, calling out on their friend.

Rippleshine's eyes widened as she heard her name. She was going to be a mentor? Though she was nervous, excitement also burned through her from her ears to her tail tip, at the prospect of passing on her skills to a new warrior the clan would be proud of.
