Oakkit listened to the orange tom with interest. Poppies are orange and red with dark spots then? Oakkit was about to thank the tom for the explanation, but before she could he continued. Poppyseeds are simple then, just seeds with poppies nothing too complicated, that's a relief. Though Oakkit was a bit worried about Poppykit, he seemed overly cautious about what he was saying. ''Oh! That explains a few things, you don't have to-''

Oakkit was cut off by Wolfhawk starting to answer the many questions that were asked. It started simple enough, Poppies turn out to be red flowers and the common characteristic of poppy and foxglove seeds are that they both are black in color. Deathberries and foxglove seeds grow everywhere, foxglove seeds in particular slow down the heart, that started to unnerve Oakkit and it got worse... turns out some purple flower that's named meadow saffronis is just straight up death with the added bonus of stomach pain. And water hemlock roots... poison PAWS, so you aren't safe even if you don't eat it?

Oakkit started to feel a bit lightheaded imagining all the ways a cat could die, because they just wanted to take a flower or go into some reeds to... hide. After a moment Oakkit realised that she didn't finish what she wanted to say to Poppykit. Warily Oakkit continued ''...so, I just... wanted to say... that you don't.. worry- have to be worried... about... not.. uhh... knowing about plants that much... you aren't a medicine cat...''

Well, that was a lot. She blinked, trying to take the information in, but to be honest, she looked a little dumbfounded.
So. Deathberries. Bright, red and sweet. She certainly wouldn't be snacking on any of those.
Then Foxglove seeds. But hm, what did a foxglove look like? Wolfhawk didn't seem to know. Hmph! Some kind of medicine cat. Whatever. Only eat black seeds if they come from red flowers. That's what she took away from that - it seemed easy enough to remember.

Meadow Saffron. Pale purple flowers. Do NOT eat the pale purple flowers, not matter what. Got it.

Finally, water hemlock. Loooong stems with tiny white flowers. A sharp scent, and it's found near water.

She certainly didn't have any questions, but she was struggling to remember it all.

Sunrisekit scrunched her face at the descriptions of how the poisons killed. None of these things sounded particularly pleasant... She carefully cataloged the appearances of these plants, she definitely wanted to avoid them moving forward.

The key to the difference was in the flower. Noted. He nodded appreciatively at Wolfhawk, listening intently as he continued. Burnedpaw flicked an ear thoughtfully. "With the water hemlock," he started, leaning forward slightly, "you say the roots can taint our paws. Does it leave any kind of detectable residue? Or would we only know our paws are contaminated by recognizing that we came in contact with the root?" Gosh that was a long-winded question. He hoped Wolfhawk wasn't bothered, he just liked to be thorough.

Flowerhawk filed everything Wolfhawk said to her memory. She shuddered at the description of water hemlock. Able to poison your paws just from touching it? She’d have to watch extra carefully for it next time she was out.

Butterflypaw didn't like how meadow saffron and water hemlock sounded.
They just sounded... honestly worse than the other stuff, she wasn't sure why:

Sweet StarClan... Smokefang felt a shiver in the back of his neck at the mention of all those poisons... If they were pretty recognizable as plants...

He didn't really want to experience the ways it could kill you.

That seemed pretty painful... StarClan, he had just shivers trying to imagine what it would look like... Actually, that was a good thing for him. Pretty decent reaction of horror he had here...

Would be useful if he... Had to use them for... Whatever things he would have to do...

Heh, interesting nonethless, maybe dragging his tired body here was worth it... A lot.
