Mountaintalon was right. Damn the stars, he was right. Mothflame remained rigid in her spot in the clearing, body tense and jaw clenched. She never should have doubted him. Because he was right. He always was. There was a reason for his outbursts. She would talk with him later, if she got the chance.

Her gaze briefly swept across the clearing and spotted Silverleopard just as she beckoned her over. Mothflame hesitated. She didn't want to go. She didn't want to go anywhere, to be precise, but that was her sister. Fine. Shutting out the loudness of the clearing, Mothflame limped over to Silverleopard.

"You want something?" She spoke without looking at her. Her one-eyed gaze was focused on spotting Mountaintalon amongst the chaos.

Silverleopard shook her head before turning to tear off a chunk of the otter and offer it to her sister.

“Nope. Just wanted to know if you wanted to share this with me. I haven’t been able to speak with you in a while,” the bengal meowed softly, her curled ears flicking. “Take our minds off of things and talk about something else.”

Ah, and the hammer of judgment finally fell. Mountaintalon watched with an expression of blatant satisfaction from the entrance to the warriors' den. You reap what you sow, after all, and Wolfpaw - Fadingpaw, how fitting - was finally reaping his.

He didn't care much for the otter meal dumped beneath the Stormcrest, but he found himself rising to his paws and weaving through the cloud toward it at the sight of a single blue eye on him. "So?" he asked as he neared her, acknowledging Silverleopard with only a glance. "Your thoughts on this, now. I am curious about them."

Hickorysmoke watched with a twist of satisfaction at the scene that Bumblestar and the former, disgraced medicine cat made, his head held high and judgmental gleam of his only good eye staring at the apprentice. Both the deputy and leader left him off easy, he should of been crushed and forced to leave, hunted down like sport.

The long, lanky tom limped towards the warriors den, still feeling the brunt of the otter patrol. his wounds would scar, but he was alive.

"Mind if I sit here..?" He mumbled, his head was killing him, a scarring wound forming on the back of his head.

Silverleopard was waiting on Mothflame’s reply when Mountaintalon approached, and she acknowledged his glance of acknowledgment with a nod, yet she said nothing to the gray warrior.

Then, just as she went to speak, another warrior—Hickorysmoke, she believed (she recognized him vaguely)—padded up and asked to settle with them. The bengal rolled her shoulders, her ice-blue eyes landing on his wounds.

“Shouldn’t you get those checked by Treetiger or Hollowpaw?” Silverleopard suggested quietly, tipping her head to the side slightly. The warrior’s curled ears flattened ever so slightly. Those wounds look painful, and she had no doubts that they were. Hickorysmoke should get them checked out nonetheless. “You can sit here. I don’t mind.”

Mothflame briefly eyed the chunk of the otter that had been offered to her, gaze tense.

"Appreciate the offer." She offered her sister a small smile, or at least as much as she could manage at the current moment. Her mind was elsewhere, and it was quite obvious. Though, when Mountaintalon approached, the scarred she-cat's attention returned. She looked to the grey-furred tom with raised eyebrows, humming lowly.

"Shouldn't have had even a sliver of doubt. You're right. Wolfp- hm. Fadingpaw is a useless rat. Still failed to do his job despite having multiple cats help him. Kudos to you." She threw Mountaintalon a smirk, tapping his shoulder with the tip of her tail. "I'd like you to stay, if you don't mind. I always enjoy more company." She didn't. She just enjoyed his company. For no reason in particular. A friends thing, perhaps. It was good to hang out with cats other than her siblings for once.

"How are your wounds feeling, Hickorysmoke? Better, I hope?" She gave the warrior an empathetic look. "Otter did a number on you and a bunch others, it seems."

"You've been a good friend to me, that means something"

OpossumHeart nods, yellows flicking towards the scene
that starts up in the clearing. BumbleStar yelling and spitting
at Wolfpaw and such. The dusky grey tabby bites into
his piece of otter again, but after noticing its fishy and
tender taste he nudges it away slightly.

He flicks an ear, drowning out the background sounds of
the thunderclan leader threatening the three legged cat.
"Uh-" he starts, ringed tail flicking "you mentioned that
your pregnancy was doing well?" He was being awkward
yes, he knew that, but how else does a cat start a conversation?
He blinks, chewing on his bottom lip absentmindedly.
Majority of the time he was an ass to everycat but for some reason,
though he still was blunt,
he couldn't ever find a good reason to use that type of attitude towards DandelionMane.

And he just couldn't put his pawpad on the reason why.

Mountaintalon smiled, light and just a smidgen triumphant. "Yes, I am glad you have been able to see things for what they are rather than lingering in uncertainty." Maybe she would consider this the next time she considered neutrality on any subject. Of course he was right. It was rare he was anything but. "Well, the boy has his judgement. It is up to us now to bear witness."

Her invitation was met with the brief crease of his brow - why was she so interested in his company all of a sudden? - but he saw no reason to refuse her. Unless she was just that good at hiding it, she didn't strike him as the type to try to wriggle under another cat's skin. She actually seemed quite the opposite. So with a sigh another mild smile, he sat down next to her. "It would be my pleasure."

At Hickorysmoke's approach, he gave the warrior an appraising glance. "You were on the otter patrol." He wasn't quite asking. "I suppose we have you to thank for this feast, then. You and the rest of your group. You would do well to get those injuries looked at by a more capable healer. It would be a shame to lose a decent warrior."

Silverleopard’s ears flicked. Mountaintalon seemed to share her worries. She wouldn’t dare say concerns. Why would she feel concerned for a warrior she hardly knew? Worried would be a better word fit for description.

She nodded, showing her agreement. “He’s right, you know,” the ThunderClanner meowed quietly. “You should really let Treetiger and Hollowpaw look at those.”

She only looked at Maplehaze again when he started backing away. Not much of what he had said registered through the firestorm raging in her head. All she saw was that he was leaving, and she wouldn't need to worry about him any longer. Claws scraping the grass, Bumblestar refocused.

Fadingpaw. Lucky he had gone with something she didn't feel like changing; she'd had something far more degrading in mind. A sneer lifted her lip. "Fitting. For my life which you allowed to fade away, for your Clanmates you left to whither. Let it haunt you for the rest of your pathetic life. For as long as I hold my place as your leader, you'll never see a full name again." And, well, if it all reached the point where he couldn't take it anymore and left of his own accord, then good riddance. All this crying wasn't doing anything to help his case, anyway. "Quit your blubbering 'n get the hell outta my sight."

Panting and shaking with both exhaustion and rage, Bumblestar swung away from him and stormed over to the heaping otter in the clearing, sank her teeth into it, and yanked off a chunk of its flesh. Her nose wrinkled at the oily, fishy taste that assaulted her tongue, but it wasn't for her, so flavor didn't matter. In the very brief iterim, she'd remembered Violetfreckle lying in the medicine den. Mudhound, too. Mudhound... hell, she could barely recall leaving the den in the first place, just the sensation of coming to and then the all-consuming fury and the faint sound of sobbing. Had she snapped at either of them? Even just the last few minutes were already becoming hazy, lost to the swirling mess inside her head.

It took a great amount of effort not to collapse in front of her audience as she turned and trudged back into the medicine den.
