He briskly padded back into camp, dipping his head to the leader. “Sorry we took a bi’. Y’know how hard it can be t’ find prey this time a’ year.” he explained, though his own catch hang from his jaw. “Go’ some prey though. Everythin’ looked normal as well n’ everyone did good.”

Willowtail padded forward. Her belly a bit swollen slowing down the very small shecats movement a bit before it normally should. "Sorry, with the cold I could only find this small mouse and vole

Back at it again.

Hard to believe that just a moon ago, she'd sent out patrols and scurried off to go bury her cold nose into Cobwebstorm's fur to chase away the chill within their cozy, personalized den. But now... now, she was standing here alone. Alone again within the den, within her position... and even alone with her connection to her warrior ancestors severed.

It hurt. The medic wanted nothing more than to speak with StarClan, get guidance after all of... this. But even her spiritual outlet felt so far away.

Still, there was work to be done... and herbs to collect. With a heavy sigh, the she-cat had forced herself to her paws, managing to stand in the clearing. Alright... nice and strong, now. "RiverClan!" Not bad, not bad... "I-It's time for herb patrols. If you could please g-gather around..."

Waiting a moment as some warriors and apprentices approached, Berryshine fluffed out her leaf-bare pelt against the cold. Hopefully, it'd be only another moon or so of these icy temperatures... maybe the arrival of newleaf would brighten her spirits. Maybe.

Once enough cats were settled, she scanned the crowd with a hum, making sure to focus despite her brain wanting to linger in every other direction. "A-Alright... here goes." Berryshine took in a deep breath and began. Firstly she saw her surrogate father, and it was a comforting sight. He was always there for her, especially after recent events... She gave the senior warrior a nod.

"Stagheart ( @/squidz ), c-can you take Redsurge ( @kira ) and Midnightpaw ( @giscoolest ) to Seagrass Fields and get some goldenrod and dandelion? Any you can find. I-I'm sure you know what those are. T-The flowers are likely dead, so just leaves and roots are fine, if there's any that have s-survived the frosts..."

Turning to the next few cats, she flicked her tail. Another senior warrior, Cherryswirl, had just recently returned to the Clan. Perhaps it'd make her feel good to dip her paws back in the water and lead a patrol. "C-Cherryswirl ( @Dust ), could you take Beaverpaw ( @Idiotic.Bean101 ) and Salamanderpaw ( @nyme ) to Lionsbeach to get some sticks and moss? A-As much as you can carry..." Plenty of driftwood washed up, and moss grew near water, so Berryshine figured it'd be nice and easy to retrieve said items from the trees that lead up to their beach. Making sure they all seemed okay, her eyes flicked to the next few cats lined up.

"H-Heroneye ( @Fits )," she mewed, nodding to the Lionheart, "could you take Baneberryburst ( @Foxlily ) and Mosspaw ( @zoamher ) to the general territory to g-get as many cobwebs as you can?" That was essential, and her stocks were running low; finding spiders in the crevices of rocks and trees in leaf-bare might be tough, but not impossible. "A-And while you're out there, if you could keep an eye out for a-any poppy seeds, that'd be great." The red flowers would be wilted, as they all knew, but sometimes the seeds persisted within the dead, wilted flowerheads. And the seeds were what she'd need.

Alright, that was enough for now. Berryshine dipped her head gratefully to the volunteered cats and stepped back into the warmth of her den for now, waiting for their return.

Not much could've made the warrior want to leave his nest that day; it was particularly frosty, and he'd already done some work training Daisypaw and reinforcing the barrier around camp. But at Berryshine's call, he didn't hesitate; the medicine cat had gone through it, and whatever she needed, he'd be there to help.

Padding out, Stagheart nodded to her in greeting. She seemed grateful for his presence, and a bit of warmth twinged in his chest. Stars, she looked... tired. Downtrodden. He'd make a point to go visit her later; he wished there was more he could do for her, but knew that even this, something as simple as fetching herbs, was something good.

"Redsurge, Midnightpaw... over 'ere," he meowed gruffly once the medic had finished, flicking his striped tail.

Heroneye hadn't been on an official patrol for quite some time. If she wanted to be of any use to her Clan, she would have to fix that. To that end, she volunteered for these herb patrols. Hunting tended to be more her speed (she could never quite keep all the different herbs and their properties straight in her mind), but that didn't matter. She should be doing something, for StarClan's sake.

In any case, Heroneye's group was fortunate enough to have a fairly straightforward assignment; any cat could identify cobwebs, and poppies were one of the few herbs she didn't have too much trouble recognizing, thanks to their striking red color. Heroneye returned Berryshine's nod before turning back to the small crowd.

"Baneberryburst, Mosspaw, over here," Heroneye called, not especially loudly, but enough to be heard. As usual, she didn't particularly like calling out like that, but it couldn't be helped. She stood a bit to the side of the gathered cats as she waited for her patrolmates to find her.

Mosspaw's ears perked and she scampered over. Tingling with excitement, she joined her group. "Hihihi! This is my first patrol, I'm sooooo excited!" she said, bouncing up and down.

Midnightpaw nodded with a smile, padding up to Stagheart. He shook out his long tuxedo pelt as he waited for a command. A patrol? And an herb patrol, at that? Midnight was excited! He genuinely liked herbs, they didn't taste great, that was for sure. But they always smelled nice.

He dipped his head to the medicine cat, she always seemed kind, and a little shy. Now, Dandelion and Golden rod? Had he ever seen those before? The apprentice tried to search his brain for an image of them.

``Have you seen, or well, used these herbs before?`` He mewed to Stagheart when he couldn't find any memory of the plants.

From a few tail-lengths away from the collecting group of cats, Cherryswirl had sat pretty - watching curiously as Berryshine began sending out patrols. Oh! That was her name! With a small exhaust of effort getting up, the senior warrior padded forwards to hear the rest of her assignment and with who. She has been dying to get out of camp and back into the groove of things, so this was a perfect opportunity! Giving the young medicine cat a friendly smile, she dipped her head in acknowledgement,

"You got it Berryshine - We'll be back before you know it!" Now then... Where were these two apprentices she was taking out with her? Thankfully, it looked like one of them was making their way over - at least she hoped! Having been gone so many moons definitely brought with it new and unfamiliar faces. Turning to the apprentice who had moved closer towards her, she dipped her head and gave them a warm smile. Assumedly, the apprentices knew each other, so that would make life just a bit easier.

"We'll just wait for our last patrolmate and then we'll set out - I don't think we've met before - I'm Cherryswirl." She mewed softly, keeping an eye out, "Are you Beaverpaw? Or Salamanderpaw?"
