ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Frogkit huffed, then he stabbed his paws in the dirt. Throwing dirt into the air, he started digging a small hole. Dirt everywhere including on The two kits, he was aiming to dig a deep hole.

The silver tabby emerged from the nursery, just being given a strict lecture on how much responsibility they have for caring for Thunderclans young. The sky was charred black, the moon was hidden in whatever backdrop it desired. With a twitch of her ear, her green gaze followed towards the Thunderwillow. Roosterflame had the clan in such a heartbreaking voice. She quickly shuffled her paws as she made her way there, her now lump stomach swayed with her steps. Upon arriving, she could hear the cries of Thrushfur calling out to Sparrowstar. Her green eyes set a reflective glass tone of the bright stars, shimmering in their delicate plates. Seeing her mate crying like never before, her eyes immediately shot over towards a sneaky bold scar on his shoulder. What was he doing!? Quailfur rushed through, pulsating her anger as her ears swiveled in discomfort. Arriving at Thrushfurs side, with his cries to call Sparrowstar that didn’t work. She also found it strange, Sparrowstar wasn’t to be found at all. Not arriving to Roosterflames call, nor hearing Thrushfurs cries. Her green eyes dilated. But for the most part she had to comfort Thrushfur. She sat down beside him, inspecting his scar. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as the other few cats she observed walking into the medicine den.

Wrapping her tail around him, she obviously knew the tom to be very emotional at times. The only thing he didn’t have was anger. He could never be angry at anyone. She hurriedly licked his shoulder wound, soothing whatever added pain there may be. She didn’t want the tom to crack down at this moment. He’ll have to build it up, build up all his strength for his clan. If Sparrowstar truly is gone, then he’ll surely have to make his way through Thunderclan as a leader. She continued to lick his wound, cleaning any muck that may linger in the wound. Her ears turned behind her to Russetkits straightforward question. She whipped her head around, facing Russetkit with a stern look. In a low whisper that involved a growl. "Now’s not the time." She blinked, turning her gaze to Roosterflame. He was also stained with blood. She quickly calculated the thoughts in her head, blood, blood, blood. She gasped, asking in a panic towards Thrushfur. "Did she die?" Meekly asking, her tail comforting the tom as her tail trailed down his back. Though she felt the answer to be a bit too bitter, she wanted all the answers she could get.

[small disclaimer, if your cat was present and near the kit den during the shadowclan coup, firkit will not be happy to see them again.]

She was fine being led through the forest after the embrace of this cat, but it was all so confusing. Why did she care so much? Firkit herself had no idea who this huge gray cat was, or their yellow partner. All she knew is that she was supposed to sleep where the big gray cat was and that she was being taken away from her bed. I'm tired, I want my bed. She paused as the trio walked, looking back in the direction of firefly cove. Fire. Fireflies. It's my home, but they want wherever we're going to be my home. That's fine.

Turns out it is not fine because the memories of her death came back the instant they returned like a fire taking over her heart, hear heart who killed her. "Hey... hey, no, th-this is the place with the cats who.." She breathed heavily, panicking as her gaze flicked from corner to corner of the camp. "The cats who didn't care... they let my fire go out- it's.. no, no, we can't be here Graycat, and you too Yellowcat, we gotta go back home, where my bed is... we ain't safe here, ya hear?" She broke into a weak and powerless sprint, promptly bumping into a bush and just laying there, slowly lifting her head up again after a moment, tears in her weary eyes as she hyperventilated. "WE GOTTA GET AWAY FROM HERE, away from that big thing! THE CAT WHO KILLED AND MADE EVERYONE SCARED WAS UP THERE WHEN I DIED! PLEASE, NO, WE CAN'T BE HERE..." She struggled to stand, taking every ounce of energy in her to make her way over to Cinderpaw and tug on her legs, trying to take her away from the bad place, the bad cat's perch, panting heavily. "We can't be here..."

Panic hit her like a brick wall.

Fireflykit stared up at the guy who called the meeting, and it clear that he wasn't used to it. It was clear that he wasn't used to or supposed to be up there.

Where was Sparrow? The kind molly who promised to let her move out of the clearing. The only one who cared or noticed that she was still sleeping in her ratty nest in the corner of the clearing, and hadn't slept in the nursery since Redfurs death. She was the only one.

And something she could only label as terror coursed through her veins as she stared up at the Chickencat, still sitting in her nest by the warrior's den entrance, golden eyes wide with fear, but her throat seemed to close up and it was all she could do to breathe normally and act like it was all okay.

**Blackfir**

He'd been restless though he hadn't been able to explain rightly why. The air itself felt off. When Roosterflame's voice traveled through camp it only served to heighten his already foreboding anxieties. Though nothing had yet been said or explained, the mere presence of Roosterflame's voice rather than Sparrowstar or Thrushfur seemed to put words to Blackfir's restlessness. He moved through camp until he came into view of the warrior standing at the base of the ancient willow tree and that's when the scent of blood hit his nose like an assault. He took pains to sit down so he could focus on Roosterflame's coming announcement but his eyes wandered around the camp, searching for the leader and deputy, and the source of all the blood scent. He found Thrushfur though the sight of the deputy didn't put him at any more ease as the deputy's frantic calling for Sparrowstar only deepened his unease further. What is going on?

**Petalflight**

Sitting in a shadowed corner, Petalflight's green eyes moved instinctively towards the camp entrance as a wafting of blood reached her nose. Her ears perked up and she watched a tom wander in and walk toward the willow tree, negotiating within himself before setting at its base and turning to call for the clan. Her head cocked and she delayed in joining the warrior until more cats had filed out to create a crowd. Petalflight watched over the anxious cats as they gathered and she made herself move in with them so she could blend among them and get some sort of view of the tom at the head of all of this to await what he had to say.

Hanging out over in his nest the small tom was moving in circles trying to catch his tail. Feeling dizzy the tom stopped. He began to move backwards before moving his body around. His head was still dizzy as he moved over to the den wall. Moving he fell and as an attempt to catch himself his paw went right through the wall. He created a small hole. He stood up fast and covered it back up before anyone noticed at least he hoped.

"Hello. Whats your name. my name is Thrushkit. And dint worry i wount ell anyone about that" Thrushkit said pointing with her tail at the place where wildkits paw had gone through the wall.

it's a struggle to sleep in the nursery all by yourself. fuzzkit is very open and not afraid of socializing, but he just can't force himself to go plop himself down beside another kit or queen. sometime during the night, he's slipped out of the nursery and into the warrior's den. it was easy to find littlelion's nest, which was now cold and so empty looking - and drag it beside roosterflame's nest, squishing his mother's nest in the process. he notices that roosterflame's nest is also empty, he wonders where the tom is momentarily. (maybe he's just a little worried that roosterflame has gone away like littlelion has.) as soon as he splays himself across both of the nests, torso twisted in an awkward position, he's asleep.

though it's not long before he jolts awake, a loud voice echoing through the clearing. his tail twitches in irritation, but his interest piques once he hears the warriors in the den rising, leaving the den. "grr!!!" the small tom groans, rolling out of the two nests smushed together. he pads out of the den, looking at all the cats gathering around in the clearing. everyone looks worried, he's able to hear panicked yowling. something stinks.

fuzzkit pushes forward, slipping past cats. once he makes his way to the front, his brows furrow in confusion. why are so many cats asking where sparrowstar is? wouldn't she be in her den? he stares at a few cats, bewildered, before he looks at roosterflame. he knows it's bad news, but he's just a little disappointed that his parent hasn't been brought back - found by the older tom. "hey, roosterdude!! you got stinky berry juice on you!" he points out, nose scrunched up.

the giant tom's eyes blink open at the sudden commotion from outside. he can't make out any specifics, straining his ears to do so, yet all he can tell is that there must be a problem. loudmouth rises from his nest, stumbling out of the den. he pads closer to the forming group of cats, ears flattening gradually as he tries to make out some of the words that his clanmates are saying. s....sparrow..star, he thinks after seeing one cat mouth the name. where is sparrowstar?

Hearing the familiar squeak of his sister's voice, Sandkit turned away distracted from the big cat yowling loudly to wave a chubby paw in her direction. Had she been fake-sleeping too?? Maybe they could trade secrets on it later, and help each other get better at it - that would certainly be fun!

And then there was more yowling, and another big cat came over, the one his sister was talking to. "You're gonna wake the flowers, mister!" Sandkit tried to whisper-hiss up to him, yellow eyes wound with concern. They couldn't have that, no no no. Flowers needed time to sleep so that they could restore their bright and beautiful colors. Advice that he would ignore for now; he was a cat-flower, and cat-flowers didn't need as much sleep, he determined.

Then came a low growl from another cat that accompanied sharp words directed to... his sister? Sandkit blinked and looked at the big cat who had hushed his sister. Ears went back as he was reminded of the big scary ginger cat who had growled about killing and had also come into the nursery yowling up a storm. "Hey, don't growl at my sister," Sandkit huffed and stepped closed to Russetkit to protect her. Eyes were narrowed and a pout rested on his face.
