[ This feels off to me, but I dunno how to change it. Do you wanna do one or two more posts and call it a day on 'Get Well Rose?' ]

Rosepaw flicked her tail behind her with slight unease at Flintclaw's words, unsure at first how she wanted to reply to them, especially as she was praised for collecting herbs that the medicine cats would need. Did the warrior mean right now in this moment? Or did he mean back during the clearing incident, when they arrived home from the patrol out. Because she didn't deserve any praise for the latter option. "Uhh, right. Thank you.. and I'm happy to hear that. I feel like I've hardly seen any progress.. but I guess I'm not a medicine cat, any injury looks bad to me." Or something. She wasn't sure.

Should she tell Flintclaw about her stunt? She knew that the tom wasn't the most fond of her, but he hasn't really made an effort to brush her away yet and has been valuable to Rosepaw's learning both as a kit and an apprentice. ( Yeah, as soon as he's recovered, Flintclaw owes Rosepaw a lesson on how to deal with predators including the otters now that her clan had experience with them. ) Though Rosepaw knew that it would end up in Flintclaw's ears eventually and it was likely better. Mistakes are expected in youth so long as they learn from them, and Rosepaw meant well, it was why her punishment was so lax- Risingstorm basically said as much as he sent Rosepaw and Drizzlepaw off.

"I also.. wasn't exactly supposed to help collect herbs. I more so just followed the patrol- but I knew what I was doing, you told me how patrols worked and also you told me about the herbs that they needed. I wouldn't have chased if I hadn't known what I was doing." Rosepaw explained, jumping to why she did it as soon as she admitted to her error, almost as though to drown out what she did. "I've already served the punishment I was given afterwards, and.. ugh." The russet tabbly growled to herself as she thought over the rest of the events, mostly with her brother who was so so so stupid and short sighted and refused to learn from mistakes that Rosepaw had made seconds ago. She still hasn't made up to Lavenderkit but she wasn't itching to do so. Her words were sharp but claws were sharper, Rosepaw doesn't regret what she said.

"It went fine." She didn't want to see Lavenderkit for a couple days unless her temper got the better of her.

Flintclaw tilted his head slightly as Rosepaw spoke. He almost snorted, which was in amusement. " 's been... a day? Healing doesn't happen... overnight." He assured the young 'paw. His tongue flicked out, licking up the remaining mouse and water from his lips. Part of him wanted to yawn and stretch, but, for the time being, he was well aware that it would be a bad idea. Or, at least, a painful one. The urge was still there, itching the back of his mind like fleas.

Rosepaw talked about the patrol and Flintclaw actually found himself surprised. The little too-good-for-everyone-else kit in front of him had broken the rules. For good reason. The dark tabby would've done the same in her position. She seemed to panic around. At least, that's how he interpreted the quick necessity to explain everything. "Well... Sounds like you... took a risk... for your clanmates... and learned a lesson." He rasped. It surprised him that his discussion on the plants had come in handy. Who knew which part, but even the little about herbs he had known did some justice.

He supposed this is why he never shooed away kits and apprentices with questions. It seemed to him that Rosepaw was more of a sponge for information than he may have initially thought. All the more reason he needed to be very careful with what he said to her. His dislike for her was mostly gone, but it, again, served the clan no purpose to misinform the young cats or treat any of them as though they were too young to learn a couple of things.

@Dolomedes (I'm good with a calling this thread whenever! Also, I like it because it makes Rose feel uncomfortable like she is, if that makes sense. : 3 )
