She cursed herself internally. Now she'd made Hazelstorm concerned. The silver tabby was normally so good at masking the dark ocean of thoughts that constantly threatened to drown her. She could shove it down and cover it up with a smile, and no one was ever the wiser. No, she wouldn't push her problems onto someone else, she would deal with it herself.
But even as she told herself this, she couldn't help looking out over the cliffs, and for the briefest moment a thought crossed her mind.
Is he happier now? Does he feel better? Would I feel better?
It was this thought that brought her to a startling realization. She couldn't fight this battle alone. She hoped Hazelstorm wouldn't think less of her...
"Actually... Yes, there is something. I haven't told anyone else this, but i think I've finally gotten to the point I need to..." she began, before lifting her blue eyes, full of tears threatening to spill over.
"But, please... Please don't think less of me when I tell you this."
Wolfsong truly had no idea how the brown molly would respond to such an insight into her mind, but the longer she tried to push it away, the harder it was to stay afloat.
