The small tom followed behind in a breeze fashion, a sing-song hum to his lips as he trotted behind the large warrior with a smile across his lips.

"You know, springs such a lovely time," he commented as he felt the breeze in his long, dark lilac fur and the smell of pollen tickled his nose.

Soft tears picked up the sound of pawsteps just as Batglare did. Mushroomdream turned sharply, amber gaze falling upon the looming beast in front of them; a dog.

Flickerpaw opened her mouth to agree with his comment, but then she sensed the nasty smell of a dog. She froze, blind eyes widening. Where was it?! Panic almost overwhelmed her senses, but she knew that if the dog was closer, she would hear it. She shrank back, closer to Mushroomdream. "How big is it?" She whispered.

The white and gold apprentice dug her claws into the earth. Had the dog spotted them yet? It would see them soon, surely. And then what could they do? If they had to ran, she hoped she wouldn't trip over something, or worse... trip Mushroodream or Batglare. Then they would be hurt, all because of her.

Jaggedscar saw a large dog and immediately stepped in front of Flickerpaw. The cat was utterly useless, but she was his apprentice.

The older cat's eyes widen a fraction as the dog made its appearance. It didn't look particularly large, he's spotted bigger with their housefolks. Batglare might have given the order to run, it was unlikely to give chase but then noticed the limp prey in the dog's maw. A prey thief? Well, now he couldn't let that go unpunished. Batglare let out a warning snarl, when the beast dropped the prey to growled at them, and slide out his claws while glancing at the members in his patrols, of course, they had to run into a dog with an inexperienced apprentice. He reminded himself to give Twilightstar a piece of his mind later.

"Mushroomdream, I'll keep its eyes on me, circle around its behind it, and get on its back and for its ears or the legs, try not to get kicked." He snapped out, lowering himself into a crouch as he scented Flickerpaw's fear scent.

"Jaggedscar, just keep your apprentice alive." Batglare didn't bother wasting any more time waiting on his clanmates, with a vicious battle cry the large warrior swiftly flung himself at the canine. Barely avoiding the snapping fangs, Batglare racked his claws down the dog's nose and the cheek.

Jaggedscar cast a scornful glare at Flickerpaw. She wasn't going to stop him from fighting. He leaped at the dog, biting and clawing. It through him off and pinned him down, jaws lunging towards his throat. "Help!"

Flickerpaw narrowed her eyes with determination. For StarClan's sake, she wasn't going to be useless! And plus, Jaggedscar probably didn't give a mouse-tail whether she died or not.

She racked her brain for battle moves. She'd been training for five moons, there must be something she could do to help. But then she heard Jaggedscar's fearful screech, and without thinking twice, she flung herself in the dog's direction, claws flashing blindly.

Swiping her thorn sharp claws at the beast, she pelt a prickle of fear. A blind apprentice against a dog she couldn't see. What could go wrong? All that mattered was she saved her Clanmate. The dog snarled, and she stood in front of Jaggedscar. UGH she wanted to run away so bad, but Jaggedscar would help the Clan more than she ever could.

Well... maybe. He was stupid enough to attack a dog without using his brain, so...

But it was worth it. He couldn't call her useless anymore, at least.

The plan was perfectly flawless! A single dog, no doubt a stray, was practically child's play to seasoned warriors such as Batglare. It could have gone smoothly, it could have been brilliantly perfect and an easy situation to tackle; but no.

For the brief moment Mushroomdream let his mind ponder, he wondered if Jaggedscar was really a warriorwhe he acted like a kitten in play!

Child's play for Batglare... a death sentence for Flickerpaw and Jaggedscar.

Mushroomdream, however, wasn't an utter idoit and decided to stick to the orders given. Batglare wasn't patrol leader for nothing! The tiny tom practically disappeared into the long grass, nothing more than a wisp of his fearful scent to know he was even there to begin with.

Around the dog he circled, almost stepped on as the beastly canine stumbled back from the manic cats in front but Mushroomdream was quicker than the dog; smarter. Within seconds, the dark lilac tom was on the dogs back and currying along its form like a squirrel in the tree!

Echokit trotted into one of the passageways. "Why don't we find out?" She suggested. A gleam of excitement in her eyes.

What the hell was this?! Batglare hadn't been aware until now that WindClan had warriors that were completely and utter dumbasses. How in the world did Jaggedscar become a warrior? Not only did he disregard his apprentice's safety he literally put her in the line of fire.... and also had to be saved by her. Talk about humiliating. Batglare was not letting the tom live this down for any reason. He'd also have to talk to Twilightstar about the moron's mentoring skills.

In pawful of seconds, Batglare took notice of the only warrior that was good for something, following directions. Seeing as the dog's attention was no longer on him, Batglare made a change in plans, assuming Mushroomdream would be raking his claws along with something up there, Batglare made his way rapidly to the snarling dog's back, "Hang on or jump off," he yowled to Mushroomdream right before chomping down on the dog's thin tail.

The loud yelp was music to the tom's ears, he wasn't expecting it to whip around, partially dragging him along if he hadn't sunk his weight down onto his haunches while pulling on its tail, but even then he skitted a few tail length forwards. Batglare was somewhat impressed with the dog's strength, he was no slender moor runner. The older warrior let go, to avoid the paw flying at his head, please to see those beady dog eyes back on him. The dog didn't look as challenging as before, hissing he went back to swiping at its face, knowing that it would run off after a few good beatings.

Jaggedscar closed his eyes, fully expecting the dog to sink it's teeth into his neck. But that didn't happen. Instead Flickerpaw jumped in front of him. A blind apprentice, saving his life! He snarled. She just made him look like an idiot. "Get out of my way, or I'll make your life hell." He hissed to his apprentice.
