Morningfeathers silver-blue fur was somewhat wet still, as they padded across camp right after contributing a single fish that they'd caught to the fresh-kill pile. They had returned from the pond not long before, and they couldn't help but shiver as their fur became colder with the weather, taking what felt like forever to dry. They turned their head as they made their way towards the Warriors den, huffing, but then pausing. Their mismatched green and blue eyes seemed to lock onto the two cats that had emerged from the den just briefly, before they started to pad over, trying to remember the cat's names as they made their way over.

( @PanVibes , thought to mention as well since you're part of it! )
Morningfeather's ears perked at the sound of their name. They looked from Wolfsong to Rainmist, whiskers twitching excitedly.
"I've seen Rainmist around camp," they started, answering somewhat to what Wolfsong had asked the other cat. "But I don't think I've ever introduced myself, properly, no. I'm Morningfeather, yes," they mewed. "If... you two and Rainmist wouldn't mind me tagging along if you go fishing, I would love to tag along," their mismatched eyes gleamed with excitement.

He thought for a second about Morningfeather coming with them. "Sure, you come I really don't mind." he mewed back to them. "I love fishing as well but I'm a bit better at battle than hunting." Then he thought of something. "How about we go to Cattail pond?"

Mistakes. It was such a simple word, but ever since the raid on ThunderClan, it held a heavy weight with Kestrelstar. He found himself silently agreeing with Snowleap, though he didn't speak on it. He had made plenty of mistakes during the first few moons of leadership. There had been cats that died because of his mistakes. While the gray tabby was certain he was far from done in making them, the least he could do was try to steer clear, especially right now more than anything. Thankfully, it had been quite awhile since he had felt any emotion akin to the rage he'd felt back then burn within him. Hopefully, those days were behind him - just had to put one paw step in front of the other.
At the mention of snow, Kestrelstar turned his nose towards the sky and examined the bright gray clouds overhead. It was cold, yes, but so far no snow had fallen. If he had any say in it, he would love to see some snow, if only for his own personal excitement. But being the leader of a Clan meant that more often than not his enjoyment got put on the back burner in favor of the good of the Clan - and snow did not bode well for some. "I know most of the Clan seems to thrive in it - last leaf-bare Junipersong and I held a race up a rather snowy hill." He recalled the event with a certain warmth, joy at the memory seeping into his gaze. He had only been a warrior then, and it was the first time he could remember having any fun since his mother's death. He wondered if they would be doing the same event this year; regardless of his rank change, he'd still find it fun to host such a game.
Snowleap spoke again and it drew Kestrelstar from his thoughts. Yellow eyes glazed over in thoughtfulness as they met with Snowleaps. His smile, and the gentle reminder that no one was perfect - not even Clan leaders - held a sort of comfort that the tom wanted to rush headfirst into. The last time he had felt support like this had been on the cliffside with Plumstorm - a cat he had not spoken to in some time. Rather than dwell on that negative, Kestrelstar returned the smile, something he had been trying to do more of. "They already tried once when they first attacked, this past newleaf," he chuckled in agreement, recalling the predator patrol he had led where one of the coyotes had almost taken his life. At the rest of Snowleap's statement, he simply nodded along, glad that RiverClan seemed to be progressing towards an era where they could shift the focus from their leaders' mistakes to how to remain strong as a Clan.
A feeling of restlessness suddenly struck him, and Kestrelstar found his gaze wandering towards the entrance of camp. With the little flakes falling from the sky, he felt something calling him to take a walk in the territory. Camp duties were mostly done for the day, and with a small look of curiosity the leader turned to look back at Snowleap. "I was about to head out to the territory for a quick check to Haven Springs, to make sure no outsiders have trespassed. Would you... want to join me?" Stars, he was still a bit awkward at asking his own Clanmates to join him for a simple walk, but it was all apart of growth he assumed. Getting out from under the shadows that had plagued him for so long, finally letting go of all of the death and destruction - some of which he had caused, other parts that had been beyond his control. It felt... nice. The leader smiled towards Snowleap, hoping that the tom wouldn't mind going out again after having already hunted.

Snowleap looked over at Kestrelstar with a softened gaze. The tall warrior knew the word ‘mistake’ all too well. His own parents had basically treated him like one since he was born. Despite being their only kitten, he could never do anything to satisfy them and thus everything he did around them was, in fact, a mistake. Their treatment alone in what drove him to run off, to find Riverclan and start a new life. Clan life was far from an easier lifestyle for him, but it made more sense in his mind. Cats around Snowleap treated him well and his hard work actually felt valued rather than belittled and judged constantly. Looking at the Riverclan leader, the dark-furred tomcat wondered what type of past he had and what kind of inner demons the grey tabby faced. Maybe they weren’t so different than he had previously thought, despite them both being from conflicting origins. Both of them had troubling pasts, wanting to become better and move forward. It comforted Snowleap in a sense.
The Riverclan tomcat followed the other male’s line of sight towards the sky, both of them silently watching the gray-colored clouds. When it came to snow, Snowleap had heard from felines that both hated and adored that kind of weather. The only issue he had with it was when he dealt with his fur during the aftermath. It was actually quite pretty to watch the first snowfall of leafbare when they happened. Snowleap did not know if he would see it or not this time though, knowing it could happen at night while he was fast asleep in the warrior’s den. “I’m usually not a fan of the stuff,” The tall tomcat mentioned, shrugging while looking down at his paws for a moment, “But for some reason, I have the strange feeling of giving it another try.” Snowleap wanted to have fun, not being such a shut-off stick in the mud like he was when he was an apprentice. It wasn’t too late for that kind of thing, right? He was still young. “That sounds like lots of fun.” He said with a slight smile, thinking how he would do in a race against his clanmates, knowing he had longer legs than the average Riverclan warrior, “I should take part in a race someday. You think I’d do good?” He asked this with a lighthearted chuckle, stretching out one of his hind legs for a short moment.
When Snowleap’s icy-blue eyes met Kestrelstar’s yellow-hued eyes, the Riverclan warrior could help but keep smiling. At first, the tall tomcat was nervous when it came to speaking with the strong leader (which was simply because Snowleap was burdened with social anxiety), but the more they talked, Snowleap felt a sense of comfort that he had not felt in a long time with any other cat. It reminded him of Lynxfall, his dear friend from Shadowclan, but it wasn’t as scary to feel since, well, Kestrelstar was from the same clan as Snowleap - obviously. The quiet tomcat blinked at the Riverclan leader after he spoke of another coyote attack, making him wonder how many attacks like this had Kestrelstar seen in his life. He didn’t dwell on it though as the other tomcat didn’t speak much on it after that. Snowleap hoped that Riverclan wouldn’t see any attacks like that during leafbare, dreading the outcome that could come from such an event. He felt the cold dirt shift beneath his paws.
As they sat there for a long time in a blissful state of silence, the dark-furred warrior seemed to drift off a little and closed his eyes, listening to the sound of the chilling winds brushing through the trees. Snowleap had originally planned on going out again after a short break, but had lost himself to the comforting conversation he was having with Kestrelstar. Hearing the tomcat speak, he opened his eyes and looked over at the Riverclan leader as he asked Snowleap to join him on a trip to Haven Springs. “I’d love to!” Snowleap meowed happily, then his ears went flat against his head as he realized he said that a bit too loud and abruptly, “Heh… Sorry… I mean, it sounds like a wonderful idea.” When was the last time he had felt so excited for something so simple? The Riverclan warrior didn’t know, but he refused to let the chance slip from his grasp. Besides, as tiny flakes of snow began to fall from the clouds, Snowleap couldn’t think of a better time for a relaxing walk with Kestrelstar.
[ @arden | That's completely understandable!! And that'd be perfectly fine with me, I'm down for whatever works! Would you mind being the one to set up a private thread? If not, I'm completely okay with that too. ]

Wolfsong lashed her tail excitedly. "Yes, that sounds perfect, we should be able to find some good fish there," she purred, looking to Moonfrost who nodded in agreement. The dark she-cat stood and stretched before circling the group once, stretching her legs. Wolfsong chuckled.
"Moonfrost is excited as well. She loves fishing, finds it relaxing," Wolfsong mused, flicking an ear in amusement. "Let's finish this fish and then we can head out to Cattail Pond," she finished with a smile.
(@PanVibes @Saeran I'm happy to post the starter in the pond thread if y'all like)

Morningfeather restlessly moved their front paws, excited, before stopping after a few moments. "I agree, it's very relaxing," Morningfeather mewed, feeling embarrassed. "I'm ready whenever you all are!"

Wolfsong nodded to Morningfeather and gave them a warm smile. She turned to look at Rainmist. "I hope you don't mind having so much company for fishing! The four of us together should be able to bring back a good amount for the Clan," she purred, tilting her head slightly.
Moonfrost flexed her claws, anticipation of the hunt building. The dark tabby she-cat took another quick bite of the fish they were all sharing, then flicked her tail across Morningfeather's shoulder, signaling that she agreed with the excitement they were displaying.
(Sweet, once we get confirmation from PanVibes I'll post that over there <3)
Not wasting any time, the long-furred warrior tore into the skinny vole, munching as he thought about where to go hunting on this foggy morning. Vinewatcher and he had hunted squirrels in the ominous thicket yesterday, while Dragonflyfrond and he chased gulls down along Lionsbeach the day before that. While he grew lost in thought, Snowleap didn’t even notice Lambdream approach them until the other tomcat spoke to him in a soft, sweet tone, a purr admitting along with the words. This made the tall Riverclan warrior look up from his meal, blinking in surprise.
“H-Hello there...” Snowleap stuttered, swallowing the food in his mouth, his icy-blue eyes shifting to Lambdream’s tail and then back to his eyes. He had never been called pretty before, which made the tomcat’s heart thump quickly within his chest a bit. “I’d offer to share my vole with you, but I don’t think there’s much here even for me..” He said with a nervous, shy chuckle leaving him.
Lambdream gave a purr to Snowleap,” It’s okay…” he softly rumbled,” I don’t mind watching you eat…” he purred as he began to walk in neat circles around Snowleap, it was made slowly as he attempted to make figure eights around Snowleap. He was maintaining eye contact the entire time. His tail reaching out almost touching him multiple times so that Snowleap could easily reach out and touch him,” I can always catch you a bigger, plumper vole…Snowleap. ” he meowed almost sweetly singing his name. He got so much pleasure out of playing these games, plus he could get away with staring at the cute toms in the clan. Plus it was fun watching them get uncomfortable. Snowleap looked so nervous. He wondered if Snowleap was starting to wonder if he was attracted to toms or not. He probably was, Lambdream liked to think so.
