Heroneye followed after Juniperberry, using the pawprints and lingering scent he left in the snow. He couldn't have gone far, but she didn't want to lose track of him. Judging by Owlstar's word choice, Heroneye's main goal was to keep Juniperberry from causing trouble, such as by running blindly into another Clan's territory. In other words, the faster Heroneye caught up to him, the better. She had to make up for her hesitation in camp. After that, there was the more delicate matter of actually calming him down.

Heroneye's pace slowed as Juniperberry's scent grew stronger, and soon enough she caught sight of his movement from several rabbit hops away. She narrowed her eyes, silently craning her neck to see what he was doing. He was digging, packing dirt all around him. Was he... trying to build himself a new den to hole himself up in? If she was right, she couldn't help but be taken aback by the warrior's strong reaction. It was strange, but it was... just a light, wasn't it? It didn't mean that the forest was collapsing or anything, necessarily. Heroneye shook her head to clear it. She would have to be more sympathetic if she wanted to be of any help, though in the back of her mind she still couldn't help but feel that he was being just a bit ridiculous.

Heroneye opened her mouth to speak and make herself known, when suddenly the makeshift den collapsed. Juniperberry screamed, and the Lionheart nearly jumped out of her skin. "What are you doing?" Heroneye yelped in spite of herself. She had meant to ask that question a bit later and more gently, but the warrior's sudden caterwaul had knocked it right out of her... Good enough, she supposed, padding up to Juniperberry and his failed den.

Baneberryburst nodded to Heroneye. Sorry this isn't a lot. I will keep my eye out for more as well as more cobwebs. He walked farther in the woods, looking intently. He saw a low tree that had a ton of cobwebs in the nicks and crannies of the branches. Heroneye! Mosspaw! Come help me get these cobwebs! He yelled across the clearing to them. He reached up the tree and used his paws to wrap cobwebs around them.

Heroneye watched as Mosspaw ran off to look for some cobwebs of her own before turning back to Baneberryburst. He apologized for not being able to find much and set off again. Right, they still had plenty of time. They would have to do whatever they could, for the Clan's sake; they couldn't just give up here. Heroneye wanted to be able to go back and say she'd given this everything she could, even if she couldn't find much of anything in the end--although, of course, she'd prefer to find more than all that.

Heroneye began to go in her own direction, but she soon heard Baneberryburst's call, cobweb stick still in her jaw. It sounded as though the warrior had hit the jackpot, and sure enough, she was able to collect quite a few more cobwebs in the tree's branches. She gave Baneberryburst a grateful nod, having amassed a fairly decent wad, even by normal standards.

Mosspaw, having climbed the tree, (she only fell twice!) returned with a small amount of cobwebs wrapped around her stick. "Lmook! Cmobwmebs!" she said over the stick in her mouth.

Juniperberry turned to look at Heroneye with an unintentionally sharp glare. He growled and shook the dirt from his usually sleek pelt. "That- that light was an omen. I'm sure of it. Until someone proves me wrong with something tangible or I'm certain it's safe, I'm staying here." The tomcat grumbled, trying to get the dirt from his thick pelt. "And not to sound like an uppity kit, but I feel like I mud-slicker." He added, still ridding himself of the grime. "Look, you know where I am, if you need me, just come by."

Heroneye listened to Juniperberry's explanation, her eyes narrowed in thought. Such superstitious cats were hard to come by these days; Heroneye supposed she just didn't understand his worldview. Maybe that wasn't a bad thing, maybe he was right to be afraid, but it still seemed to Heroneye like the warrior was jumping to conclusions and was too willing to turn tail at the first sign of danger. In any case, the Lionheart would not drag this warrior back to camp. She would explain her reasoning and ask Juniperberry if he was willing to return after that. Even if he declined, if Heroneye was right and it was safe to return, he'd eventually come back of his own accord anyway.

"It's true that we don't yet know the true nature of the light," Heroneye admitted in a matter-of-fact tone, "but I do not believe there is any reason to evacuate the camp at this time. All we know is that there is an unusual light in the sky, but there is no immediate danger to the Clans.

"If we all ran from our homes every time something potentially dangerous reared its head, none of us would be here in the first place," she continued, not unkindly. There was an innate danger in being a Clan cat and competing with other groups for space, food, and power, but that all came with the territory--literally, she supposed.

"That being said, you are, of course, free to stay here until the patrol investigating the lightsource has returned. Unless, that is, you'd rather return now." Heroneye considered mentioning how nice and warm and not-collapsed the warriors' den would be now, but, Too soon, Heroneye. She turned herself part-way towards camp, ready to depart after receiving the warrior's answer, whatever that was. Satisfied that he clearly had no intention of making trouble, she saw no reason to continue pestering him after this.

Juniperberry sat in thought for a second, weighing his options. After a few seconds of contemplation, he looked back at Heroneye. "I- Uh- I'll stay here until the patrol comes back. Not like I'll be missed there really." Juniperberry paused for a second before glancing at his collapsed attempt at a den. "Hey, can you help me with, that?" He jerked his head toward the mound of dirt.

Heroneye descended from the tree, head tilted uncomfortably to one side to keep her cobwebs from touching the snow. Seeing as all the patrol members had collected a decent amount of herbs, Heroneye figured it was time to return to camp, and she said as much. "I believe this should be enough. We can return to Berryshine once you're all ready," she announced, awkwardly as she kept her jaw clenched around her stick. She glanced at her patrolmates, preparing to lead them both back to camp with their loot.
